Welcome And Why Faith Now
SPEAKER_00Hello guys, welcome back to the podcast episode episode podcast channel. I don't know what it's called. Anyways, welcome back to Heart Heart with Hads. So recently I'd been kind of been feeling convicted and God not necessarily speaking to me, but something as I've been learning, as I've been in the Bible every single day for probably the last 10 days would almost be two weeks this coming week. And when you're deeply in it, it is so crazy how much that you are able to be more in tune at church. But some of the things that I'm learning is God uses you to help bring other people to God. And so I had been feeling convicted and compelled to get on my podcast and talk about the word of God and the things that I have been recently taking away from just I'm currently reading the year in a Bible and I'm in a Bible study and then I go to church. So I kind of like bring all these things together, and then I go literally into the Bible as the verses are being laid out, whether it's in the Bible study or the year in a Bible, whatever it is, I go in the Bible, I highlight, and I try and relate it into my life. And so that's kind of what I'm gonna do is share my give some affirmations for the week, for the new week, and then also kind of share my takeaways. So one thing that I wrote down, so let's see here. Last week, I one of the verses that I wrote down that I really liked, which because I've kind of been feeling a little bit of anxiousness, a little bit of worry about just things in the future. And so one of the one of the verses that really stuck with me was Psalms 94, 19. And it was when anxiety, it says, When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. And so, while yes, I have anxiety, I I don't have anxiety, but I have anxious thoughts and feelings. Like there's some days where I'm very anxious, and some days where I'm very calm, and I'm like, wow, this is everything's great, life is amazing. But on those days when I feel like, oh, every it's everything kind of feels heavy, and those anxious feelings creep up, then I have that. So, but every time that I tune in to the word of God and I lean onto him, not magically, I would say, but I feel more at ease. And since being in the Bible, it's been like a brush brush, fresh of breath, a breath of fresh air is what I'm trying to say. A breath of fresh air of just like God's got me. He's he's working in ways that I cannot see, and that's something that is hard for me to grasp, but that is all that's what faith is all about, and so having faith in what you can't see, but knowing that it will come to fruition. So that was one, and then this one's just like totally not related to that, but Matthew 9, 12 says, healthy people don't need a doctor, sick people do. And I don't know why I wrote that down because obviously, you know, I'm a health nut, but yeah, we're just gonna go through kind of some of my favorite verses of the week, and maybe you can write them down, go highlight them, whatever it is. This one specifically was talk was referring to expecting God to help you grow spiritually. So Galatians 6 9 says, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap the harvest, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. And I think a lot of the times we are so quick to rush through life, rush through little things we're not very present, we're just trying to get through the day, and maybe we have these goals for ourselves or dreams or ambitions, and we're wanting them to come to fruition a lot quicker than they are. And the reality is in God's timing, you will get that fruit. That fruit has to ripen slowly. Remember that the best fruit ripens slowly, all good things have to wait. The the things that come quick and easy, which we know this, like we can get on our phone, get that quick dopamine, all of these things that are quick, easy, going out to fast food restaurants, these quick, fast, and easy things, those things are not as good for us. I know that's not totally related, but if you think about it in that sense, so that you can kind of connect the dots, let us not become weary in doing good. For at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. And that last part, if we do not give it, give up. I think so many people also give up way too soon. And if they would have kept waiting and keep working, then that fruit, that fruit would come come through. You would be able to have more fruit. So, what I wrote down explaining that is fruit is coming, even if I don't see it now. Praise God for what he's doing in my life right now, because a lot of the times I only will go to him when I feel like things are not going well, and I think that's very backwards, and I think that obviously I should be going to him all the time, but I should be praising him more for when things are going great instead of just going to him whenever I want something. That's not a good relationship, and so I've been really working on thanking him every day, no matter what. So that daily gratitude is something that I'm writing in here as well. So grow this fruit. That's one big thing that I wrote. Grow this fruit, and then obviously, the these big words that I really need to keep in the back of my mind at all times love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I don't know what the the correct term for this is. So if somebody knows this, you can you can let me know. My pastor actually said it at church today what this kind of what this was called, but I don't remember. And then another thing that I wrote down too was trust God for a second or third, fourth, fifth chance. And then the verse, Romans 5, 1, by faith we have been made acceptable to God, and now because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we live at peace with God. So God gives so many chances and trust in him that he will continue to do so. You mess up, you give back up, you do not give up. All right, going to another thing that kind of has helped, or another verse that has helped soothe my anxiety. Pardon me if I like say things wrong or if I'm kind of stuttering, I'm all all I'm very much new to being in the Bible, like what am I trying to say? Understanding, I should say, and taking life examples or taking away things that would apply to my life. And I didn't grow up going to church. I I didn't grow up doing any of those things, and so I've had to really immerse myself in and start learning on my own. So if I don't sound literate and I sound illiterate, just bear with me and I will get better at this. But I want to start doing some of these on Sundays. I think it'll just help me stay grounded in my faith, but also retain it, and then also sharing God's word so that other people can take away some things. So two Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, see, I said two, just because that's how we wrote 2 Corinthians 9-8. And God will generously provide all you need, then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. I love that one. And plenty left over to share with others. A lot of the times we hog things and think, oh, this is just for me, but no, we're meant to share our what's the word, our gifts with others. And then I don't know which specific verse this was. I don't just want to do that. But one of the verses that we had to memorize was Romans 8.28, and it is, and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him and who have been called according to his purpose. And I really, really like that one. Okay, going to some of these next pages. Okay, cool. Let's see. Do do do do do. Our new memory verse for this week is no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. First Corinthians 2.9. One of the things we're working on is stretching our imagination. So thinking deeper than what you can see of, oh, this is the goal that I have set for my life. These are the dreams that I have set for my life, but making them so much bigger. So this week we really talked about letting go of doubt, not fear, doubt. And so there's things that cause doubt, right? Compare the first thing is comparing your ability. So comparing what you know to do to somebody else and saying, like, oh, well, they have this, they can do this, I can't do that. But you don't know what God has prepared for you. And if you play small, then you are letting down the purpose that God has set out for you. And this is something that really stuck with me of I, yes, I have dreams and goals, but I still think that I'm playing way too small, and I need to stretch that even more because that's what's gonna help push me. Yes, there will be challenges, yes, there will be things that I go through, but in the end, I know that I have God guiding, walking with me throughout that path. And he wouldn't put one thing, is God would not put a path or dream in your mind if he did not think that it was possible. So you need to follow out that dream and know that you don't know the road, but you have to have faith and you cannot doubt how that will happen. Another thing, too, that causes doubt is remembering and dwelling on your failures. You constantly look at, oh, well, I've done this, I failed at this. Okay, cool. Now you have to move forward. The next choice to move forward is yours. So there were three promises from God, and they were God promises strength, God promises success. God always has a plan for you. And start one thing that I wrote down was start doing what God made you to do. Start carrying out these things that you, those deep intuitions that you have you need to be doing with your life, start carrying them out. Do not believe your, do not oh wait, wait, wait. Let me let me let me say this. So belief, doubts, and doubt beliefs is like what people's mindset usually is. But doubt your doubts and believe your beliefs for once. Banish the fear. Okay, okay, so God promises success, strength, and support. Lean on the Lord and launch out in faith. You have, yes, you have to put your faith in God that He will guide you, but you have to take the first step. He cannot make the first step for you. And I think that's the thing that is the hardest thing to do is you taking that first leap of faith. But once you take that leap of faith, he will guide you. That's the hardest, most nerve-wracking part, but that is where your character will be built, and then God will help you along that path. One thing that I also wrote down was God tests her faith when things seem overwhelming. This is huge, and this is why I need to continue to stay in the word, continue to thank God, even when things are overwhelming or stressful. This goes back to the you taking the leap first. God says you go first, then I'll help you. But you have to take the first leap of faith. And I just love that because we're waiting for him to give us a sign, but the sign is already in us, and we have to take that first step. So, what is another verse that I wrote down? Oh, I wrote down, I want you just something that you can ponder on. Is your dream big enough for you or for God? Because obviously God can handle anything. If you're thinking this is too big for me, cool. You need to think bigger because it's obviously not as big for what God has in store for you. God's plans should excite you, they should maybe even scare you a little bit. But cool. Okay, going into the next thing. Love this verse for sure. Philippians 4 13, for I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. I love that. Let's see. And then one of my devotions was relying on God requires faith. And here is a verse, Proverbs 3, 5, and 6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways. Acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight. So this is goes back to trusting him, even when you don't understand, believe that he has your best interest at heart, even if it causes you pain right now. Know that that pain will be diminished and you will feel better later on. That's kind of just like that, you know, delayed gratification thing where it sucks in the moment, but you know that on the other side you have a great present. Move forward, be convinced, convince yourself that he will make your path straight. Another verse. What's what did I write down? Sorry, guys. Sorry. Okay, and then going into the kind of church sermons that we've been doing at church is it's kind of about winners. Let's literally called winners. And last week we kind of talked about Job, and Job was a person who has enough money, he never stressed about it, he was very highly respected in his community, and then jaw job, job loses all of his camels, his sheep, all of these things, and all his wealth is gone. He still has his children, but all of his kind of material wealth things are gone, and then all of his children are dead. And basically, this is was Satan testing him, saying God saying that saying that he Job would not continue to follow God and love God if all of these things were taken away. And Job was like, I'll show you Satan. And he knelt down to worship. So basically, the the what it said was he tore his robe, shaved his head, then he knelt down to worship. Meaning, God, you have my focus and you have my honor. So Satan thought that if he wiped everything, he wouldn't love God and he was proved wrong. And Job still worshipped God. So it is loss is not always about the scoreboard, the scoreboard. So like he had all this money, he had all this, and all of that was wiped clean. And when that was wiped clean, clean, he still showed up and he still loved God, even when he had nothing. And I think that if you do that, like God will bless you in ways that are unimaginable. And so he proved Satan wrong and he showed God, like, I still love you, and that proved more to God than any wealth or money or anything else ever could. So that was kind of last week. I didn't finish the whole thing because I watched online, but this week's I was literally just today. And so this was winner's number two, and this was training regimen. So I loved this because this relates so much to what I do, but basically, you have to be in a season where you're saying no, like non-glamorous, non-sexy. You just gotta say no. You don't get to do the things, you have to have that kind of discipline. So let's see. He talked about 1 Corinthians 9 24, and it was basically saying, like, you don't run a race just to run it, you run the whip waste, you run the race to win, work hard enough to win it, not to just do it. And I love this because I am not a person that just does things to do them. If I want to do them, I want to do them all out, and I want them to go for it and I want to win it. I don't want to just do things just because, oh, do it, check off the box. Yes, some things have to do that, but most things in life, like the big things, I want that. Do things with purpose. Step carefully and with purpose. I think a lot of people are like, oh, I can, you know, kind of do this. I can kind of do that. No, step carefully and with purpose. He talked about Daniel, and Daniel was teen in an he was a teen in an unstable world. Basically, he was in uh what's the country called? Babylon. And this world basically was symbolized where they think they have everything figured out, but they don't. And so basically he he gets sent there and is the king is like has all this feast and all these fancy foods, and basically he was like, No, like I'm not going to eat that because I know it's not in alignment with what this place where I'm living is not in alignment with what God had in store and created for me, essentially, because he was a Christ fellow, and then he went here, and they basically were not as worshiping of Christ as where he came from, which I don't remember. So practice saying no and receiving no more. Something I wrote down, which they didn't say that in the sermon, but there's something that popped into my head because he keeps he kept saying say no. And so, what did I write down? There needs to be a season of no saying. This will help you be able to handle life later on, right? I love that. Okay, let's see here. What did I write? So one thing that I wrote down was that he said, our pastor said was winners choose to focus on their placement, not displacement. And so think of like not where I want to be, but I choose my actions to get me where I want to be. No, this is something that's huge. Know what you will and won't do. Don't be like, well, I don't know. No, know specifically what you will and won't do. And then he talks about willpower versus pre-commitment. And he kind of talked about this in the sense of relationship-wise, like he's married, like, and one thing is, you know, you don't put yourself in environments where there are other females, or like you get alone in a car with somebody. Yes, like you have self-control when you're in these places, but the same thing goes for like, yes, you can practice a self-control, like you can have cookies in the kitchen and not touch them, but it how much easier would it be if it was just out of sight, out of mind? Same thing he was talking about, temptation and willpower. And so, willpower is the ability to avoid ultimate temptation when it shows up, right? So you have the willpower to say no to the cookies, to whatever. And pre-commitment is what you do that you're you're aware and unaware of. So pushing yourself away from the temptation. Like I said, not having the cookies in sight, not getting in the car with a woman who is not your wife, etc. And I loved that analogy. That was so, so, so great. And I think that also goes for kind of what we're talking about is saying no to certain aspects of your life so that you can, you know, get get better later on. Let's see. Another thing, too, that I wrote down was character is more important than image. And I think a lot of people in today's world are so focused on their image and less focused on their character and who they are as a person. You see all these Christians and all these god followers, and they portray this image, but then you hear about their character, and it is just rude and wrong and totally messed up, and that aggravates me. So what else did I write? Oh, this is another one for like anxiety. First Peter 5.7, give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. I love that one. Another thing, too, is if you are humble for the Lord, this goes back to the character. If you're humble for the Lord, he will elevate you. And this goes back to like, okay, you don't need to portray this big old image. Show you're humble, all these things. Let's see. Saying no to the things I'd like to say yes to yes to. So the things that you want to say yes to, start saying no to them. Another thing is, but how do I know how hard to go? How hard to quote unquote train? Because this was about what was this one called? Training regimen. Well, it depends. How challenging is your race? If you're up against something that's hard, maybe you're dealing with a relationship thing, your financial difficulty. If it is very hard, then that's obviously the harder you're going to have to train yourself. No, no, no, no, no. So I really love this. What the last three things I wrote down were build conviction and yourself. Identify the things keeping you from your best and eat at God's table first. So bringing this back around to God. Like build conviction before the plate arrives, before the temptation even comes. Like, okay, who am I as a person? What am I gonna do? What am I standing strong in? And then obviously identify the things keeping you from your best and then eat at God's table first. So you don't show up to Babylon's table starving. I love that. And then the last thing I wrote down was reading the Bible to fill your appetite. I'm just so proud of myself, honestly, for reading and starting to understand these. So hopefully you guys kind of liked what I was talking about. I know it's a lot to kind of take in and you're like, how do you why are you springing this on us all of a sudden? It doesn't matter. You know, I don't care if you think that all of a sudden I suddenly became godly. No, I've gone to church, but this is the first time I've actually been disciplined to stick to the Bible and actually understand these things and really get in it. And so I wanted to share the word of God with other people. And I felt, like I said, pulled to share the things I was learning as I'm learning. And so yeah, I'm really excited. And I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. I know it was long. And then also just some affirmations for the week. You are strong, you are capable of saying no, you are capable of doing every single hard thing that you think is too hard for you to reach. Know that God thinks you can do thinks you can face even harder. And God would not put the dreams and the challenges in your life if he did not think that you could face them. So every time you are faced with a challenge, instead of saying, like, oh my gosh, this sucks so bad, start thanking him. I'm gonna start thanking him for wow, this is a challenging time right now. I'm upset, but when you thank him, it often leads to an aha moment. Okay, this is the path that I need to take next in order to get to this where I want to be. So hope you guys have a fantastic week and just know like it's February, like such an odd month. Nobody really likes January, February, I feel like, but I do, because my birthday is in January, and then I like Valentine's Day, which was yesterday. But don't settle just because you feel like it's a blah time. Maybe it is, maybe it is a blah time for you, but you have the choice to put one foot in front of the other. Make that choice. Keep going forward. You got this. Okay. Love you guys. See you in the next episode.
unknownBye.
