I'm Ellie. And I'm Jack. And we love to rot on the couch. Oh my gosh, we do love to rot. We love a good rot session. Oh. Oh. It's just so good. Ow! Ow! Just thinking about it. Makes me smile. I'm smiling right now. Oh my goodness. Well, what's new with you? What you been rotting about? What I've been rotten about? Yeah. Update me on your life first. Okay, okay, okay. You write, you write, you write. We gotta update. We gotta update. It's been a minute, I think, since we've podcasted. Yeah. When's the last time? The last time we podcasted was when we were talking about like the Taylor Frankie Paul stuff, which would have been March. Oh, oh. So it's been a couple months. That's a long time ago. I know. I know. Wow. Yeah. Honestly, like, I feel like I don't have any huge updates because we were just sort of finishing up the last two months of school with the kids and stuff. And so it was kind of busy. But it was good. Um we I had my sister's bachelorette party, which was super fun. That was last month. Yeah, I love she wanted to be like, I'm friends with the bridesmaid, maid of honor. Um but yeah, we had a lot of fun, and today is June 1st, so it's officially wedding month for my sister. Woohoo! What day? She's at the end of the month. The 25th, yeah. Okay, yeah, okay. River's birthday. Yes. Um, yeah, she's getting married on River, my son's birthday, which is super fun. So he already is talking about his birthday cake, which is her wedding cake. And he keeps talking about how it's gonna be really big. Yeah, so he's gonna be liked about it. Wait, why is my name not on it? Why why are they touching my cake? Why why are they dressed up for for River? They're she's dressed up for River. Yeah, yeah, we're dressed up for River. Yeah, yeah. So I'll I'll I'll be sure to dress up real nice, even though I won't be there. I'll just wear something nice on the 25th. Sounds good. Yeah, but yeah, they got their little like flower girl and ring bearer outfits in, and they're so cute. River's wearing a little tie. It's gonna be so cute. But yeah, nothing really too exciting is happening over here. Praise God for that. Yeah, because you've got you've been your family's been through a lot. We've been through it. Yeah, yeah. Bella did get her leg braces off, so she's brace free now. Yeah, praise God. So she's just working on building up strength in her legs now. So that's an exciting update for her. Yeah, that's it. She goes to PT once a week, but she's doing great. We um signed her up for ballet this summer. Oh nice. So her and Sage start that next week, actually. Oh, so that'll be super fun. I know, they're really excited. Wow, but yeah, I mean, Bobby worked like a ton last month, so that last month was like a little bit hard schedule-wise. Yeah, and that's part of why we didn't podcast at all, just because I was literally in survival mode for like the last month. Yeah, um because he worked like every single weekend except for the Bachelorette weekend, and it was just crazy. Yeah, but yeah, what about what about you? Well, another reason why we didn't podcast is because I moved. Oh, yeah, you've been busy too. I've been doing the most. Booked and busy. Yeah, literally. It's miserable. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I've been I've just been trying to settle in and it's been really good. So everything that I have in my house is like has been given to me for free. It's so nice. Like it's just such a blessing from God, and it's just like yeah, yeah, it's so cool because it's like I've been he will. I've been given all this, and like now it makes me just like want to invite people to my house, and it's been really cool because I've had like a lot of people come over. Yeah, which I don't usually do, like usually I'll just go somebody somewhere else, but I do love to have people over, and yeah, it just has brought me a lot of joy. Ellie had us over this week and she made us breakfast. It was so fun. I since you were there that day I went to Hobby Lobby afterwards and I hung a bunch of all those prints. Did I send send you pictures of those? Yes, yes, yes. So cute. I've like hung a bunch of stuff, and like yeah, I just yeah, I'm feel I'm feeling like settled. Yeah, you know, and it's just really nice, and I'm just yeah, ever like just being there like makes me excited. Yeah, so that's huge because that's like yeah, I think it's like the ninth or tenth time I've moved in the past five years. Also, in the past year, this is the third time you've moved. Correct. So that's like crazy. I'm exhausted. Yeah, moving three times in a year is too many times. Just so miserable. Way too many times. Yeah, so once is enough, that's for sure. So yeah, so I'm just like taking a deep breath. Um and her house is super cute, by the way. Thanks. So cutie. Thanks. It's kind of giving Coastal Grandma vibes, but like in a in a very cute way. Yeah, thank you. Even if it wasn't cute, that would be the vibe that I'm going for. That's my goal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love it a lot. It's so cute. So fun. Yeah, so I'm just like doing weird things, like every every weekend. I'm like just a little bit. I've been doing a bunch of weird stuff. Weird stuff. Just like getting super weird all the time. Just like wake up, get weird, midday, have a little weird break. That's been what I'm doing. Cool. It's been super weird. Yeah, I love that for you. Yeah. But I've also been um starting to like plan for London because I leave at the end of June. Yay! Um, so my nanny and my nanny family lived in London for a year. They're going back for the whole month of July, but I'm going with them for the first two weeks. That's so fun. I'm very excited. That's amazing. Do you know anything you're doing? So we're staying in the Cotswolds, and basically, like I think I don't know what that means. Is that like the country? Yes, is that sounds like the country. The Cotswolds. The Cotswolds, yes. Is that like the Hamptons of London? Kind of, but not really, because it's like very countryside, like rolling hills, like um, it's like the map of London. You know the Christmas movie um that's in London. Oh my gosh. She like is an American that goes to London on vacation. Is it the one with Drew Law? What's the name? I can't think of it. Love actually. No, that's not it. That's not the name of the movie. Gosh. Okay, well, comment if you know what the name of the movie is. But basically, uh, she like goes to London and she like house swaps with this girl, and she's like a really like famous writer, and she like the girl in um let me look it up. I swear it's the one I'm thinking of. Oh my phone died. I was gonna try to Google it real quick. Wait, you google it. Okay. I don't know what to Google. Anyways, yeah, so it's basically the house in London. The holiday? The holiday. That's what I was trying to think of. But London is also Love Actually is also set in London. That's what made me think that. Yes, you're right. Yes, yes. Okay, because I I've and it it then that also is a Christmas movie, too, I think. Question mark? Love Actually. I think it's like on Google it says London is the setting for iconic Christmas movies like Love Actually the Holiday and Last Christmas. Alright, well, so there it is. I was close. There it is, but but I was thinking of the holiday in my head, but I said Love Actually, and I was like, that's not what I'm thinking of yes. No, the holiday is so good. The holiday so the little cottage that they stay in, that's literally what we'll be saying. Okay, actually, I was like, I saw someone's like synopsis of the holiday the other day, and it was talking about how the most like unrealistic part of that movie is like how well decorated like Jude Law's cottage is like for a single man. Like it is like like Pottery Barn like threw up in there, like it is just like to the nines, like it's beautiful, perfect, and it's like no man like would know how to do that, no, actually, though. No, but he hired somebody, but it's okay. We we love it, we support, yeah. But yeah, so we'll be staying there and we're basically just gonna go and like I mean, they have three young kids, so we're just gonna go to playgrounds, go to local pubs, just like oh just gonna go to the local pub. Go to local fish and chips. Literally, yes. Sounds amazing. So, but I have like a couple days off um where I can like go into the city. Oh girl. So I'm gonna like she's given me like a bunch of books about London, and so I've been like reading them while my two-year-old maps, and that's so exciting. And so I'm like, okay, I'm gonna go on this walk and like stop at all these places. And so I want to like do one thing through the city, and then there's like other spots on the countryside that you can like swim at, and I'm like, I want one day where I could just like be outside in nature swimming, enjoying summer and good weather, and one day where I'm like seeing the sides like what is it called? Something abbey. I don't know. I'm going there and I shouldn't The Abbey. The Abbey. Big Ben. Sure. London Bridge. London Bridge. The London Eye. Yeah. Westminster Abbey. There you go. That's what I really, as I call it. As as the locals refer to it, it's the Abbey, so yeah. Anyways, I'm like really excited. That's awesome. Yeah, I'm so excited for you. Yeah. And then I'm going, one of my best friends is getting married this weekend. I'm like, I don't know. I've never been to Europe. I don't know anything. I've never been anywhere. I know. I'm like, I know nothing. We're not cultured. No, the one thing about us is I'm well traveled within the US. That I've also been to Canada and Mexico. But here's the thing: like, we couldn't have this podcast if we were well traveled. Yeah, we wouldn't have time to rot. We exactly. If we were jet setting like jet setting way, like what? Couldn't be me. Could it be me? I have to. My husband works a hundred hours a week. I am rotting. I am at home rotting. What else would I be doing? No, literally, I can't think of it. What else do I have time to do? Nothing. Nothing. Other than rot. Yeah. Watch my kids after they go to bed. I don't have kids. So I actually do kind of have kids. I watch my kids during the day and then I leave them. And then you rot. So I rot extra. Yeah. You have extra time to rot. Have a lot. I actually feel like I haven't been rotting as much. Like I have, I've been reading a lot. That's good. But I feel like I haven't been watching as much TV. I've been watching a lot of TV. Okay, well let's get into it. Okay. Tell me about what you've been doing. Okay. So I want to see if you've watched or done anything that I've also done. So I started re-watching Shits Creek. Love. Um, because I just was like, I just want, I just think that show is so hilarious and like it just has me cackling. It's so good. And I just was like, I want to rewatch like some funny show that I can have like on in the background or something. So just fold it in. Yeah. Ew David. Ew David. Num Num David. Bebe Girl. It's just so good. It is so good. It's so funny. Yeah. It's so quotable, which I love. Yes. So I've been doing that, and then I don't know how I started watching it, but I started watching The Righteous Gemstones. Do you know anything about it? Um, I've never watched it. But you know the toilet baby? Yes. Okay, so the toilet baby. I am friends with the toilet baby's mom, IRL. Yeah. So so one thing about Jacqueline is she is famous and friends with a lot of famous people. Like tons of famous people. We yeah. So Ellie's not acting surprised because I told her this before the podcast on accident, and I should have waited for the pod to reveal this information. When she told me, I said, What? I was shocked. I mean, that's shocking. Now I'm just like, of course, of course you would be. Yeah. Yeah, of course. Of course, yeah. So his mom and I met at a playground, like in my old neighborhood when we first moved here. She has twins, so both of her boys play the baby. Like off and so yeah, context. Basically, they get to this point where one of the like side characters has a baby and a porta potty and dramatic. But he's got a big thing. But basically, the whole show is like their last name is Gemstone. It's all filmed in Charleston, which is super cool because I'm like, I know, yeah. I'm I literally know where that is. One of the scenes was filmed at El Molino. Oh, that's crazy. And I remember the day it was filmed there because so it's kind of like a telenovela. Yeah. But for a Christian mega church. Okay. Okay. It's like very dramatic. And like in ways that are like, okay, that's obviously fake. Like you're not trying to make it look real. Like this is like funny. It's like very over the door. It's very comical, very funny. Um, but there's this one scene in El Molino, and they're like the cars blew up in the parking lot. Oh my gosh. And I remember that day because I went to Second State, which is right across the street from El Molino. Yeah. And I saw the parking lot, and I was like, what in the world? But but then the I was like, can I ask you, do you know what happened over there? And she was like, oh, they're just filming a movie, they're just filming a show or something. And I was like, oh, that makes so much sense because I literally thought that the season was like a few. El Melino was blowing up. I I yes. I was like, why are there not more cops there? Where's the fire? Where's the fire? No, literally, yeah. I was so shook. That's hilarious. Yeah. And then I saw it and I was like, oh my gosh, I had no idea. That was a good idea. That's crazy that they actually did like a real explosion. Like you would think they could just like like AI that or something. I guess you actually have to like do some of it for real. Well, it looked all for real. That's crazy. Yeah, it was wild. Wild. Wow. So yeah, but it's hilarious. But it can get kind of a little gory at times. Yeah. Um, which is kind of why I started watching Shit's Creek. Yeah, like you're like a pick-me up. Yeah. I'm like that too. Sometimes if I'm watching something too deep, I have to pair it with a show that's like a pick-me-up. Yeah. And it really helps. Yeah, so those are the shows I've been watching. But then movies I've recently watched. Oh, um, as well. Yesterday I watched Frozen One and Frozen Two because some days are just like you know when you're like a child and your parents are still asleep or they're doing something, and you like it's a Saturday morning, you just go downstairs because you're already awake and you just pop on the cartoons. So that actually never happened to me because my parents get up at the butt crack of dawn. But that happens with you know this super common scenario that everyone can relate to. Yeah, never happened to me. But that is the vibe. You know, like I got up, it was like 7:30 in the morning, and I was like, I can't get this frozen songs out of my head. And you just sometimes you just need to watch Frozen. I'm gonna drink my coffee while I watch Frozen. I recently um was found out that one of my friends like gets flight anxiety and she watches Frozen on every single flight because it's like a comfort thing for her. It's honestly such an incredible movie. Yeah, it's so good. Both are. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, so I watched both of those yesterday. Um when you told me you watched Frozen yesterday, I assumed you meant like when you were nanny, not by yourself. No, I was by myself for both. I love that. It was on my own. It's amazing. Yeah, love that for you. Yeah, it was great. Um, and then I watched Um Remarkably Bright Creatures. Oh, yeah, yeah. You told me that. Yeah, yeah. I also watched that. Yeah. And I loved it. I also read the book last year, and it was and it I felt like the book and the movie are very, very similar. I was like really happy that they didn't change much for the movie. Yeah, but basically, this guy like rolls up into this small town, and it's kind of like so. This like old lady works at the aquarium and she's very lonely, and there's like some like mystery about like what happened to her family, and they like died, and how did they die, and all that stuff, and the guy that rolls up into town is like looking for his dad, and then it's just like about their relationship, and yeah, and also part of it is from the perspective of the octopus, which is like crazy, and it talks about how like smart octopus are, and yeah, and it's like really interesting to see like the way that the octopus like figure stuff out between them. So, like in the book, there's like some chapters are from the octopus's perspective, and some chapters are from the old lady's perspective, yeah. Um, and so it's sort of from both of their perspectives, but it's it's super cool. I I cried the whole time I watched the movie. Bobby and I watched it, and Bobby cried, and he doesn't cry at movies, like hardly ever, but he cried. So just if if he never cries and I imagine how much I cried. I cried at the last episode of Stranger Things. A lot, a lot, and you hadn't even been watching the season. Not infested at all. I was like, are you okay? Like actually. And I wasn't. Anyways, the thing about it is that I wasn't okay at all. No, no, so I watched that movie, which was really good. And I watched it like alone. Yeah, and I just like needed a big cry, it was just really good. Yeah, and then another movie that I just watched is Burlesque. Have you seen that movie? Yes, love burlesque. So good. Christina Aguilera and Cheryl. Yes, I mean they're just like incredible. So like okay, fun fact about me. I am a Christina Aguilera stan. I love her. I grew up listening to her, I was obsessed with her growing up. Like, literally, I think she's one of the best singers ever. Like, um, I'm obsessed with Christina Aguilera. Always have been. I actually sang one of her songs in the talent show in like seventh grade. Oh my gosh, I'm obsessed with you for that. Um, I love her. So, yeah, of course I went to go see burlesque in theaters with my mom when it came out. Yeah, yes, I did. As you should. Yeah, it was really good. I was just like, it I had seen it like pop up on Netflix a couple of times, and I was like, Yeah, I'm just gonna watch this. It seems good. It's so good. It's intriguing. Yeah. The part is so iconic to you. Yes, oh my gosh. I haven't seen it in a while. I could watch it again. Well, I think it's off of Netflix now. Sad. I don't know where it is, but it was like the last day to watch it, and I was like, you know what? I'm gonna watch it. Yeah, you can always get it on Prime or whatever. Yeah, such a good movie. So good. Yeah, yeah. I've seen it several times, I just haven't seen it in a while. Yeah. But it's so good. Love that movie. Small town girl moves to LA, becomes a star, falls in love. Classic. Classic, and there's just you know, if you're into musicals, you'll love it. Yeah. So good. So good. So that's been a fucking love that movie. That's what I've been watching. Cool. So, yeah, some good stuff. I'm trying to think. So I watched Remarkably Bright Creatures. Bobby and I restarted The Office. We finally finished How I Met Your Mother. Oh, nice. So we restarted the office, but honestly, we haven't really been watching it that much because we've just been doing a lot of reading at night. I love that person. So I really haven't been watching it that much. I feel like there was one season of a show that I fin I watched. Oh, oh, oh, off campus. Off campus. Yeah. Okay, so you have to watch it, Ellie. Okay. It okay, there I okay, just a warning, there is some nudity. Okay. But it is so good. So it's like a hockey romance show. Interesting. And it only it just came out, it has one season so far, eight episodes, and the men are smoking hot. You will be obsessed. Okay, I'm there. Like, literally, you need to watch the first episode. Okay, you've listened to me talk about how I've been watching. If we wrap these if we wrap up this podcast, we can listen we can watch the first episode before you leave. No, literally, you've been listening to me talk about how I've been watching all these movies alone. So it's like I'm gonna need to watch some hot guys. Yeah. Also, a show that I forgot to talk about. Rooster is on HBO Max. It's like pretty low-key. There's like eight episodes. But it's Steve Carell, and it's like his daughter is like he's like a professor at the college. It's it's very like heartfelt and like it's very cute. But he does a good job. I don't have HBO Max. Oh girl. I know. I know. I know. What? Sadly. I know. I gotta get you online. I know. I feel like I've asked you for your login before, but for some reason it always like kicks me out. Okay, well, I got a new new password, so we'll figure it out. Um, but yeah, off campus is super good. So the cool thing about that is that I also so there's a book, there's a lot of books actually. Okay, so the first book is called The Deal, and it's like the off-campus series. So it's like Wait, what's it on? It's on Prime. Okay. So The Deal is the first book, and then The Mistake, I think is the second book. Um, but there's like a lot of books, and I haven't read all of them, but I did read read The Deal and the Mistake, which is book one and two. I think I remember when you read those. I read them, I read The Deal at the end of April. No, no, no, yeah, end of April, and then I read The Mistake and beginning of May. Yeah. Before right before the show came out. Interesting. Um, and they're both really good. Okay. And um, yeah, so the author's name is L Kennedy, I think. Um but yeah, it's super good. And it's basically like the the like without giving anything away. Basically, there's this guy, Garrett, who's like this hot shot hockey player, and then this is girl Hannah, and she is in, she's like a singer-songwriter, like in the music program at this college, and basically she has a crush on this other musician guy, and then Garrett really needs her to help tutor him for a test because she got an A on the test and he didn't do well. Say less. And then basically, like he's like convincing her that he can they can pretend to date so that that she can get this other guy's attention if he'll if she'll tutor him, and so they make a deep uh uh yeah, uh-huh. But then she has to fall in love with him because he's hot and he plays hockey, exactly. Oh, literally, so but yeah, so it's super cute. Sounds delicious. I can't wait to watch. It's great, you'll love it. Um, and I I could re-watch it because it's so good. Okay, I love that. Yeah, okay, yeah, wait, yeah. Anyways, so that I watched that, so that's really the only like new show that I've watched, probably. And I feel like there's like other shows that I like that the new seasons came out and I haven't watched them yet. Like, I haven't watched the new season of Emily in Paris yet. Yeah. I haven't watched the new season of Jenny and Georgia yet. Yeah. Like there's just other shows that I'm like, but Love Island starts tomorrow. Oh yay. You're so excited. I can't wait. Um, which if you are a Love Island person, you know that it is a commitment to watch that show. So yeah, it's gonna be It's just honestly, it's like not even the show, it's just like all reality TV just like kind of makes me ill. Yeah, you know, but I feel that way about it all, you know. Yeah, but I I try to get excited. I love it so much. You like The Bachelor, you got into that. I like watching it with you. Yeah, I would never watch that by myself. Really? Never dang. That's crazy. I've tried to watch reality TV by myself and I can't do it. I'm just like, this is this is just I don't want to watch it. But like I don't know what it is, but like I think it's just because my brain has to operate at such a high capacity all day to balance everything with like the kids and just the house and all the things, especially when I was like also working. I just feel like I just needed something dumb to turn it was just pure entertainment. Yeah, you know what I mean? Yes, and it's not like I'm watching it because I think it's like quality TV, it's just purely like entertainment and it's just like funny, and yeah, and I also like I feel like too with reality TV, there's sort of like a community of people who like watch it together because it all comes on at the same time. And then it's like you're all talking about it, and that's like the fun part, is like speculating all the things and just like social media, yeah. I know, but I I like talk about people in real in like real life too. IRL IRL girl, you know. Um, but yeah, so it's just so that starts tomorrow and it comes on every single day at nine o'clock. Um, except for like one day a week, it doesn't come on, but I'm not last year I pretty much watched it every night because it came on at nine, and Bobby usually went to bed at nine, so I would just stay up an extra hour and watch it. But I don't think I'm gonna do that this year. I think I'm gonna like every few days just like watch a few in a row instead of watching every night because that's just too much. Yeah, and also I really like when you could watch more than one episode. Yeah, me too. So I'm gonna do that because there's like a couple nights a week where Bobby works late, so I can just like put the kids to bed and then watch it on those nights, you know. So I'll just do that instead of every single night, because that's just crazy. But yeah, so that's what I've been watching. Um reading, I've been reading a lot. That's good. Um, so there's two books that I read in April that I hated. Oh, which doesn't normally happen to me, but so you know the show Tell Me Lies. Yes. So I read the book Tell Me Lies and I hated it. I I do not know how this author got a book deal or got a show deal off of this book. It was that bad. It was that bad. What what made it so bad? It just it's so different than the show. It's like, first of all, it only has like a tenth of the drama of the show, so it's kind of boring. Like there just wasn't that much that happened. Steven isn't even like even like like half as like diabolical as he was in the show. Like he's very and also like they describe Steven as sort of like unattractive and like overweight in the book. So it doesn't even really make sense why she's so attracted to him. And also, she has like a severe eating disorder in the book, and like it's like her inner thoughts are just all about like it's like what she's eating, and it's just like that's like a big part of the storyline, and it's just kind of like very toxic. But it's like that's like a bad book. It just is I mean, obviously it was like trying to portray that type of person, so it's not saying like, oh, you you know, but it just was like not it was just sort of boring and slow, and it just didn't really make a lot of sense why she was so obsessed with him. Yeah, because like he didn't he wasn't like holding stuff over her head really like like he did in the show. And so it just sort of didn't make sense why she felt the need to like like I don't know, it was just odd. It was very odd. Disappointing, sorry. Yeah, so I still stuck it out and finished it, but wow, I would have stopped. It was short though, it was only like maybe like less than 300 pages. Oh, that's not bad. So it was like pretty fast. Like I it was yeah, and then there was this other book called His and Hers, and it was a mystery, and it was like from the perspective of this girl who was like a news reporter, and then this guy who was a cop and they were investigating a murder, but the girl and the guy were like ex, like they used to be married, oh but they were like she was reporting on the crime and he was investigating the crime, um, and it was like from both of their perspectives, but it was just like it it almost felt like it was trying to it was trying too hard to lead you in the wrong direction, if that makes sense. And then like the end result just like did not make sense. Like I don't know, like the person who was the culprit or like the murderer, it just didn't make sense, and it almost felt like it was like shock for shock value, and like that was it. But like logistically, it didn't make sense that that would be the murderer, and it also just didn't really make sense, like the motive sort of made sense, but like very it was weird, and it all it just felt like it was trying too hard to have like a big moment, yeah, and it just didn't really hit the way it should have, and it just it was just it just felt like it was trying too hard altogether, yeah, yeah. Um, and I just didn't love it. So isn't that a shame? So those are my two books that I did. I hate reading like books like that, that because they have so much potential. I know, I know, I know, and it could it was like a cool premise, but I just was like it just didn't, I just wasn't for me. And I and I usually love a good mystery. I know, but it just it wasn't for me, I just didn't like it a lot. I just didn't really like it that much. So, anyways. I've been reading Well, have you been reading anything else? Yes, yes, oh keep going. No, you're fine. Um, so I was gonna say that have you ever read Abby Jimina's book? Okay, so she um has a few books that like a few um books that are like series, but it's kind of cool because so I just read the Part of Your World trilogy, which I accidentally love y'all. Speaking of, I actually one movie I watched was The New Little Mermaid that I'd never seen before. Oh, you have never seen before. Yeah, but it's because I thought Sage would get scared, so I watched it with Bella when she was home from school because Bella had like an ear infection a few weeks ago, and so I let her stay home and we watched it, and it was so cute. It's so cute, yeah. Um, anyways, so basically, I accidentally read the third book in the trilogy back in January, and I really liked it. But then I found out that it was a trilogy, but it's like a loose trilogy, so like there's like characters that are loosely connected, but it's not like you have to read the other ones, but it's just like you'll sort of know like it's like a totally different story, but then it's like they'll reference a friend and I think that's how Stephen King writes a lot of his books too. Um so I read the first two books of that trilogy in May, and I loved them. I love her books because it's like a romance, but it has a lot of depth to it. So, like um the first one, which I actually think you would really like these books because I just feel like they deal with like real life stuff too, that's like really interesting. But the first book, like the main female character, like one thing that was really interesting about her story was that she was like having to navigate putting bound like a lot of boundaries up as an adult, like with her parents. And then also she was navigating, like looking back and like sort of realizing that her father was like emotionally abusive to her, but like didn't really realize it until later. And then her she was like dating somebody that was doing the same thing to her, yeah, and then she like looked back and like realized that, and so it was just like I was just like it like has more depth than just like a little romance, you know, like a whatever. And then the second book, which I also really liked, the main male character had like super severe social anxiety and just anxiety in general, and like the person he had dated previously just like really didn't understand that or like really take that into account at all when like planning or navigating social events, whereas like the main female character in that book really saw him and understood him, and it was like a true partnership of like her like thinking of him in those situations and like making it more comfortable for him because she knew that it was like hard for him. Yeah, um, and it was just like really cool because I just feel like there's like certain aspects, like when you have you know, like the person that is your partner or whatever, it's like you sort of have to know you know that person more than anyone, and like you're the person that can help that person feel comfortable or know when they're probably not doing well or whatever, and it's like you help them, and it was just like sweet to see like their partnership in it. And I don't know, it was just like it was really sweet, and it was I just like those books because I feel like she always has something like that with her characters of like some sort of personality thing or like something from their past that just they have to navigate in their relationship, and it just makes it feel like a more like real couple, yeah. Um and I just really like that in her books. She always brings that like extra layer of depth to her characters, which I really enjoy. So I really liked those. Um and then I read a few other books, but uh I'm currently reading Fourth Wing, which I'm really liking. It's a um trilli like I think there's been three books now, but it's like Fourth Wing and then like Onyx Storm, and there's like another one, but it's like a fantasy series. Nice. So is it good? Yeah, it's really good. I'm almost done with it. I'll probably finish it tonight. So I started it like a little over a week ago. But I'm on my 21st book of the year. Woo! So I've been reading a ton. And that's been really fun. So that's crazy. Yeah. Well, I'm only I've only read two books, but that's okay. They're audiobooks. I just listened to two Freedom McFadden books because they're very entertaining. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like her and Stephen King are two authors that I'm just like. I feel like we thought of you mean you've just read two books like this past month or a couple months. Yeah. Okay, I thought you meant like this year. Because I said 20, and I was like, wait, no, you because we read God of the Woods and we read The Housemaid. I was like, you read more than two books. Okay. Yeah, yes. Since last time we popped. Okay. Yes. Sorry. No, you're good. They um, but I read The Teacher, and I'm I started the coworker, but I'm you love a good freedom. I really do. And honestly, it it just keeps me entertained. Like I I just feel like I have to drive so much to like between Greenville and Virginia. Audiobooks are great for like a drive or a commute. I have to do it because I'm like, I can't do music the whole way. Yeah, for sure. So, but then I'm like in the car and I'm like, no, she did not, but it's just me, and I'm just like reacting. But it's like it's just fun. I'm like, oh girl, don't you do it. Oh, she did it. Oh, she did it. Oh my gosh. Yeah, but the teacher was crazy. I feel like I've heard people talk about that one. It was crazy. Yeah. The ending was crazy. I'm excited. I'll I really like it, Frida. Like, I feel like they're really easy to read, which I like. Yes, yes. Um, and so it's just like a quick, fun read for sure. But they're always good. They're always good. That's what I'm saying. Like, they're always good. Oh, Frida. Yeah. And then the co-worker I just started, and it's interesting. But wait, didn't I send you that thing about how Frida McFadden like revealed her real identity recently and she's like a neurosurgeon or something? Which is crazy. Yeah, that's actually wild. Could you imagine your brain being so big that you could be like so smart as a neurosurgeon, but also able to literally be an author? Yeah. Like an award-winning author. Yeah. Like to understand humans. Like, usually I feel like people who are neurosurgeons are like they're in their books. Yeah. They're not concerned with the rest of the world. They're not like creatively writing. Right. Yeah. Yeah. She just is the whole package. Is she married? Does she have kids? I have no idea. I don't either. She probably don't have time. Right. She's crazy. She's doing her service. She's entertaining us and saving us. No, literally. Literally. Yeah. I can only entertain. That's all I have to give. Yeah, true. Same. Yeah. And we're doing it. You know what? We are. But I'm supporting somebody by cooking for them and taking care of them. Your other half. My other half saves saves people. And you entertain. And I care for him. Yeah. So honestly, that makes sense. I keep him fed. The full package. Me on the other hand. I'm just half a package. Waiting for the other half. If anybody knows anybody. Ellie's single, by the way. Boy, by the way. By the way. I was speaking of Ellie and I went to a music festival in April. Oh yeah, we did. And we did karaoke and I announced that she was single in front of everybody. Yeah. And she was like, take me to dinner. Nobody nobody took it. Nobody took me to dinner. Nobody uh answered the call. It was really disappointing. Yeah, so true. So true. Whatever. But that was a fun time. We sang Tennessee whiskey. We saw um lots of really fun artists. We saw Cheryl Crow. Yeah, she was she was good. We saw Camp. Penny and Sparrow. This is so good. They're so good. So good. I think Penny and Sparrow was my favorite. Me too. I just love them so much. They put on such a good show. Yeah. They're so good. They're just insane. Like, if you're not listening to Penny and Sparrow, what are you doing? And they put us on the big screen like 12 times. Oh my gosh. During Penny and Sparrow. They loved us. The camera loved us. I had friends from church there, and they like had sent me a video and of the big screen with me on it. And they were like, wait, I didn't know you were here. So funny. Yeah, that was hilarious. Yeah. Good times. That was really cool. I started listening to Lake Street Dive because of that festival. And I realized, like, because they had performed the day before and we didn't see them, but everybody was like, oh, that's why we went on Saturday. Yeah. And I was like, why don't I know them? And then I listened to them and I was like, oh, I actually know a lot of their songs. And I like them a lot. Yeah. So they um I want to say they're from potentially from Tennessee. Oh. I think. Or near there. Because um, so my friend uh Eleanor and her sister Rebecca used to be in a band and they opened for them once at this like small concert in Chattanooga that we went to. Um I'm pretty sure I got I like met them and stuff, but that was like 10 years ago. They were like really small. Um that's super. But I've been listening to them forever because I knew them when they were playing venues that had like 50 people up there. Right, yeah. Um, but I think they're from Tennessee. I could be wrong about that, but if they're not from Tennessee, they're from somewhere near there because they used to play shows a lot, like in Chattanooga. So they have to be from somewhere near maybe Nashville or somewhere near there. But they're really good. I really like their music a lot. Yeah, but I just didn't I don't listen to them as much as Pity and Sparrow and Camp, so that was why I chose Sunday. Yeah. Because I was like, I have to see them. And I had never seen Camp before, which was fun. But one of the lead singers was not there, so that was kind of disappointing. I think he was like, I think maybe him and his wife were having a baby or something, which is you know, that's a valid reason. It is a valid reason for sure. But at least his his wife wasn't having the baby and he was at the concert. That would have been disappointing in a different way, yeah. Yeah, so yeah, I'm glad he wasn't there. If yeah, but also like Bobby was supposed to go with me to the festival, but then he had to work. So I sold his ticket to Ellie because I was like, well, if I can't go with him, I'd want to go with Bestie, obviously. But I'm kind of glad though, because I'm like, if his first time seeing camp would have been without the lead singer, right? And he would have like traded a work shift just to go, and then it wouldn't maybe would have been like that, you know? Yeah, it like wouldn't have been worth it. So I feel like it all worked out, yeah. And we had a lot of fun. We'll just go, yeah, but we had a great time, and then Bobby can go see camp yeah another time when we can catch him on their next tour. Yeah. He did, they did open for Zach Bryan and Charlotte, um, which we also really want to see Zach Bryan. I've been listening to a little bit of his new album, actually. Oh. Um listened to his new album. And then Ariana Grande put out a new song like yesterday. No, it's I think it's called like Hate That I Made You Love Me or something. It's good. It's good. I feel like all of our songs are called something like that. Hate That I Made You Love Me. I think that's how it goes. Something like that. That was really good. I know. I saw this. I listened to the new Charlie Crockett album, and he's just a country singer that I really like. But then it got taken off Spotify and Apple Music. Why? Why? I have no idea. That's crazy. I like looked it up and I was like, I feel like I'm still not getting an answer, but all I know is that it was taken down. That's weird. That's weird. Yeah, because I I had like listened to it on Spotify. And then it went to the album and it was like these songs aren't available. And I was like, but why? I don't know. Maybe they'll be put back up. So maybe it's just a technical difficulty. Well, I think it has something to do with like his like record label or how he produced them or like something like that. Weird. I don't know. But it was really disappointing because I really liked the songs. Yeah. And I wanted to keep listening. Yeah. But I couldn't. What the heck? So weird. But yeah, that's all I've been. That's all you've been rotten about. Yeah. I think that's pretty much it for me, too. But it's been good rotting. Yeah. I I really have been enjoying reading. Oh, I got a Kindle. So I got that for Mother's Day. Yeah. I got a Kindle for Mother's Day. I I was borrowing my friend's Kindle for a while. Um, and that's what really sold me on it. And then I asked for it for Mother's Day. So I really love it because I feel like I could just get into bed and then Bobby goes to sleep and I can read it and it doesn't bother him. Yeah. Because you can put it on like dark mode. And so I feel like I can just read so much more like later. Because if I come out here to read, like in the living room, I'm just gonna get distracted. I'm gonna be like, oh, I need to do the dishes, or I need to like, or I'll like put on the TV or so. I don't know. Yeah, yeah. So if I just stay in my bed and like lay there, then I'm like literally there's nothing else I could be doing but reading or going to bed. Right. So I've just been reading a ton at night, which has been really nice. And I feel like my body just like falls asleep faster after reading versus like watching TV. Yeah, I think there's like science to back that up too. Yeah, so it's just very scientific and very good for my body, and very one thing about Jacqueline is she's super scientific. Yeah, I'm very scientifically doing things that are good for myself. Scientifically speaking, Jacqueline looks at the facts. Period. And then she uses the facts to inform her decisions about life. Yeah, period. Only the facts. Only the facts. Yeah. I think that's about it. Well, well see you tater.
