- Who won & lost the Draft?
- Headscratching pick
Hey, welcome back everyone. This is another season of TNZ Sports. Uh season three. Uh of course we are always kick off the season with the NFL draft. And also, uh, you know, when we start our season, we're in the middle of NHL playoffs, NBA playoffs. So uh, Zach, I'm just gonna let you talk for a minute to get us uh going a little bit, and then we'll just jump into our segments.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Thank you everyone for uh tuning in tonight. Um we're a couple days removed from the 2026 uh NFL draft. Um this episode's gonna be um more draft dependent, uh, but in future episodes we'll touch, like Tyler said, um we have NHL and NBA playoffs going on right now that are pretty exciting. Got some new teams in there that haven't been in there for a while. But um tonight we're just gonna start off with the NFL draft. Um, like I said, this is season three, brand new season. Uh try to be a little more consistent on uh putting content out, but glad to be back now. Um so we're gonna kick it off. Like I said, we're gonna just dive into uh the 2026 NFL draft. We're gonna start with the top segment of which team won the draft. I've um when we say won the draft, it's it kind of seems like on when we start um a new NFL season, it's like who won free agency, who won the draft, and then we get into those summer months of OTAs and preseason, get to see these rookies for the first time. But as of right now, for the team that I think won the draft and uh really capitalized on their picks, um shout out to my wife's uh fat uh dad. I feel like the Raiders did a really good job about addressing their weak spots. Um just kind of like looking over their draft. We all knew Fernando Mendoza was gonna go number one. There was no doubt on that. Um I liked that they addressed the defensive side of the football where they can actually give Max Crosby some help on the the edge uh with the K-Ron Crawford from Auburn. They went more defensive, uh more I would say looking at their draft, it was like 50-50. They went on both sides of the ball because both sides they really needed. I feel like in an ideal world, I think everybody wants Fernando and Mendoza to start right away.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I don't think that's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_01I hope it doesn't happen. I hope it didn't happen. I hope it doesn't happen either, just because Kirk is a good solid um mentor, and then he's gonna show Mendoza how to be a good pro. And I feel like there's no rush to get him out there, but I think we're conditioned for the NFL this um this day and age of like rookies automatically play, whereas when me and you were growing up, sometimes the rookies sat maybe one to two seasons and then they became the starter.
SPEAKER_00Heck, I think sometimes it was almost their rookie season was almost over most of the time before they got to start.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and sometimes like I feel like there's a lot a lot of pressure on these rookies to save the franchise in that first season, and then like fans get root restless and unruly, and they're just like, oh man, it's a bust. Let's go for the next quarterback, the next year, um, and just don't give them an actual chance. I think it takes about two to three years to kind of learn the system, get this the pace and the speed of um the pace and the speed of how the pros differ from college where it's best on best in the pros, and college it's like one team is clearly had the top talent of the nation, where the other team just has players that are walk-ons or didn't have other offers to go. But I really liked uh the Raiders draft. Um, they got a receiver in the sixth round, they got a running back behind uh Ash and Gente. Uh I don't know. I think one of the things that I'm looking at is like getting another center behind Linderbaum. I know just uh that was the big acquisition for them this offseason of uh getting Tyler Linderbaum from the Ravens to uh anchor that offensive line at the front point.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and they got they had 10 picks.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think 10 picks you have to kind of uh hit not hit on all of them, but you have a little bit of room for error of like, oh, we used a six-rounder on this guy, so it's not much of a loss. I think they are they're gonna be interesting to watch this year. That's why I really enjoyed their picks. Um, I think they're a star wide receiver a little bit away, just because Brock Bowers, we know, is gonna be that number one receiver in the tight end position. They did sign Jalen Naylor. He showed promise in Minnesota, but um, I would like to see them maybe next year or maybe it's gonna have to be next year unless they're in contention for like a wild card spot where they make a play for a uh star wide out. But um, yeah, I enjoyed their draft uh most. I think ESPN gave them an A, and I feel like Fernando Mendoza was the smart move of picking him up, then like some of their free agency um acquisitions, Kirk Cousins was a good a good one to kind of solidify, hey, let's not maybe this is the plan of let's start Kirk first, see how he does, let Fernando kind of learn behind him, and then if the seasons kind of I would say either four and four midway through the season, maybe toss Fernando in there, or if they're at the five and three, you keep the hot hand in. I say four and four, or if they're below five hundred, they put Fernando in. So eight or nine games would be the Kirk Cousins experiment.
SPEAKER_00Well, I would, you know, say an experiment, but if he keeps winning, yeah, why not just keep him in and then keep learning?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think that does a thing for a team too of right in the hot hand, and um, but if they are if they're losing close or they don't like I said, they're below 500, I feel like that's Fernando's time.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01But who do you in this draft, who do you feel like quote unquote won the draft?
SPEAKER_00I wouldn't say, okay, so my pick, I wouldn't say they won the draft just because there was like a few top ones that won. Like you said, we we had the Raiders, uh, I think it was Cleveland had a pretty good draft. Um Philly had a good draft, if you want. I mean, they got an A. I think ESPN gave them an A. You know, the Jets had one, but I I I went ahead and picked the Dallas Cowboys having a good draft just because they didn't really need that much. I mean, the top three needs I think they they said they needed was an edge rusher, um, a linebacker, and uh, I think a quarter a cornerback. I mean, they if you look at their draft, anybody can go on there and look, but they picked up three edge rushers, Malachi Lawrence, uh Jashaun Bearham, I think that's how you say it, and LT Overton. Um one at U from UCF, one from Michigan, one from Alabama. So that's three edge rushers to work with. So obviously they're bulking up their defense. Uh they didn't they didn't pick up a linebacker, uh, but they picked up a cornerback from uh Florida, Devin Moore. But they also they picked the number one pick was Caleb Downs, safety from Ohio State. Which is a good pickup. Which Ivor did to them to pick him up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh uh at number 11, I was surprised that I can't remember if they traded up to get him.
SPEAKER_01I think they traded up to get to him. And um because I think the Giants was looking at him, but I think maybe well, nope, Giants were 10, so they passed on him. And I think Malik Neighbors was un upset about that because he felt like that's who they should have picked instead of the player that they got.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, it says they traded up for Caleb Downs, and then they traded down for Malachi Lawrence. Mm-hmm. Uh Downs fell out of the top 10 by one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I feel like Dallas, their weak spot was their defense, and yeah, um offense. I felt like they they're always gonna be a good they're always gonna be a good offensive team. George Pickens on draft night signed his franchise tag, so yeah. We'll see if he shows up to training camp, but I'm just like that's fully guaranteed money. So well, I think it's worth up to 25 million. Yep. And then um they had CD Lamb, of course, then a decent tight end in Ferguson. Uh, then they signed Javante Williams to a three-year deal to secure that running back. Um, but they needed to really kind of bolster that defense with young talent. They have good veterans like in Rashad Gary and um well they had Jadavian Clowney who led the team in sacks last year, but he didn't I don't think he's still a free agent, but I think that was their weakest spot. They're just like if our defense could uh get a stop or put some pressure on opposing quarterbacks, they could keep the um keep the offense from having to run up the score to try to um just do an offensive shootout because defenses you eventually have to retire the side or um make it a little bit of a headache for quarter opposing quarterbacks.
SPEAKER_00No. Well, Dallas's weakness has always kind of been defense and drama.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, things just get over those. I don't see Philly winning. I mean, not to get too deep into divisions already, but I just don't see Philly winning it this year. They I was about to division. They might make the playoffs, but they won't win the division.
SPEAKER_01I think this division in general got a little bit better. I think uh a lot of people fall in love with Philly just because of like all the off-season transactions that they make or during the draft time, they their GM Howie Roseman always likes to wheel and deal, uh, which I think everybody's looking at that June 1st date of when they're gonna trade AJ Brown to the Patriots. It's all but a done deal. It's just like just do it already. You drafted Makai Lemon, and uh you're already kind of making airing out your dirty laundry anyway, so might as well just do it. But Dallas did have a really good draft. I think they focused on where the side of the ball that needed the most bodies. Uh they're kind of stuck in some deals. They got rid of Trayvion uh digs last year, midway, and then just were like, okay, we're gonna rebuild and give our uh new DC a fighting chance to actually do something.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But all right, so we'll move on to who quote unquote lost the draft. Um we'll start with you. Who do you think lost the draft?
SPEAKER_00Well, I didn't see a lot of Fs. I don't even think I seen any F's when I was looking around. I just seen I guess the worst ones for the grade is a C. Which is passing. Uh in some sort. There are three teams that got a C. They didn't get a C plus, but they just got a straight up C. Um so San Francisco got a C, Jacksonville, and Minnesota. They got us all Cs. I mean there's C plus is in there. If you want, I could throw those in there, but there's too many. Yeah. Um Rams and the Titans are both in the C plus category. Yep. I mean, I was only happy with like I I was happy with mine. Three, I think there's three of them that I really liked. But anyway, going to the failures. Um I'm gonna have to go with San Francisco.
SPEAKER_01Really?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um they well for one, they they didn't make any first rounders, so I don't know if they just maybe they didn't see anything they liked. Um but they needed some tackles, uh, some guards, some safeties, edge rushers, uh tight end, some receivers. Um so I mean they got let's see, I think they only got one receiver, and that was like the first pick of the second round. Yeah, it was on Striveling, I think is what his name was. Um he got, I mean, they got they got an edge. They got a running back, which I don't know the running back situation very much.
SPEAKER_01I think that was one of their needs was a running back, somebody that can back up Christian McCaffrey just because I don't think well who's their backup. It was Brian Robinson Jr. from uh Washington last year, but he signed with uh I don't know who he signed with in the offseason, but I think behind him was Isaac Gurindo, but I don't think I don't know if he's still on the team, but it's just they needed to fill that spot because I felt like Christian McCaffrey had a great year last year, but I'm just like he can't keep performing at this high of a clip without getting some wear and tear.
SPEAKER_00The way I see it, they need they need more than one wide receiver. Yeah, I mean I know they're about to lose Deshaun J Deshaun Jennings. Juwan Jennings. Juwan Jennings. Uh so they needed to get, I mean, maybe this guy might be the answer, but they need to at least get one more. Yeah. They got two offensive tackles, which is good because Trent Richardson can't stay healthy even though they paid money for him for two more years. Trent Williams. Trent Williams, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was about to say that Trent Richardson. That was like a throwback from when we were growing up, he was a running back that had a great year and then kind of fell off a cliff.
SPEAKER_00And then uh I don't see any safeties on this list that they needed. So yeah, I would give them probably the worst that they lost this draft, because yeah, what some of their pictures didn't make sense.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um they're not my they're they're not my team, but like I'll I'll add to it. Like, even watching the second night of the draft, and even the first night of them like trading back, it what my wife, who's a Niners fan, was was getting a little frustrated, but like they had the first pick of the second night, and I think if this was their pick all along, I think they're just like at this point, second round, we'll just grab him.
SPEAKER_00I think sorry, go ahead.
SPEAKER_01I was thinking as well, is because they signed Trent Williams to a two-year $60 million extension, and it's just they didn't want to pay that first round money. You don't want to pay that first round money, and it's just like I think they're kind of in salary cap hell a little bit. Just I think they're I think the Niners problem is just a little bit of falling in love with the players that are on their team and not making the hard decisions of they're past their prime and cutting them. I think it's very case in point with Trent Williams of he's getting older, he's not being able to finish out a season, and he's got you on the hook for uh all this money where you could invest it in maybe another wide receiver, which they went out and got Mike Evans, but Mike Evans is Oh, yeah, I forgot about him. He is an older receiver who signed a three-year deal, which I think they'll hold on to him one year and then maybe cut him in the offseason. He's gonna be that red zone threat, but they just have so many. I think one of the question marks was for me. I'm just like, you need to build up that offensive line as your weak spot, along with linebackers where they traded D Winters to Dallas. I'm just like, he was one of the better, he is really good with uh Fred Warner, where uh they signed Dre Greenlaw, who for some reason didn't work out in Denver, but um yeah, they I think they should have addressed their offensive line a little bit more. I'm glad that I think one of the wins for them was maybe getting a a second running back with uh Kaylon Black, which he's from the national champions uh Hoozers, um, which his tape looked really good, so I'm just like, okay, he's that's a good pick. Um but yeah, they only grabbed two offensive tackles, and I'm just like, he should have grabbed a little bit more than that. Of course, there's undrafted free agents that they probably signed, and we're just not seeing them because teams have that option to do that with um people that don't go in those seven rounds. But for me, um I'm gonna I'm gonna harp on my team because I felt like we I'm gonna keep it 100. I felt like we kind of crap the bed in our draft. I'm gonna be honest. I felt like some of these pieces just did not make sense. I get the Ty Simpson, the successor, and the way the Rams play, year in and year out, we're always in the bottom half of the draft, so we're usually trading out, but we are playing with house money with the Atlanta draft pick. And I've heard so many takes about like, oh, they got Trent McDuffie on that 29th pick, which I that was a weakness. We addressed the weaknesses, and I felt like this was kind of the year to kind of to kind of capitalize, get somebody that's gonna help us now, opposed to two to three years, help us down the line. I think Ty Simpson could be Matt Stafford's successor, but it's gonna be a little hard to justify that pick a little bit just because it's like he's not a day one starter. It's gonna be maybe two to three years to when we'll see him actually take a snap. Preseason, we'll probably see him, and that can be a good indication of how well he's gonna play. Um I wasn't a fan of I really wasn't a fan of the tight end the tight end pick um in the second round. I felt like we already have enough tight ends uh in that room with Tyler Higby signing an extension this year for two more years. Colby Parkinson, who's on a who was probably by far our best tight end last year. Um then Davis Allen is a serviceable tight end, and then Terrence Ferguson, our draft pick last year, our first draft pick last year, and I felt like he is only gonna get better, and they got this Max Clare from Ohio State, and I'm just like, we don't really need a tight end. I'd rather have gotten another offensive lineman, especially on the right tackle, because we had Rob Havenstein um retire, and I felt like that was a missed opportunity, which we did. I would say the the uh pick I liked the most was Keegan Tross, our offensive tackle um pick, and I was just like Finally, we need offensive linemen. But and then for CJ Daniels, we traded with the Eagles. I think I think we moved up to get him and then traded like two seventh rounders to the Eagles. I'm just like, I would not have done that. I think he was gonna be there regardless. And then we got a defensive tackle, which can't have too many of those. But I just felt like our our draft as a whole was kind of one of those dissatisfying ones. It's just like, man, we had I think we I don't know if we're just getting greedy or we're like, man, we got the talent now to go compete for the Super Bowl, which we are the Super Bowl favorites, but just like we have to have stuff bounce our way to with health and all that. But I'd say maybe the maybe the Ty Simpson pick may motivate Stafford to be like, okay, you think I'm starting the clock of I'm I'm done after an MVP season. And it's just like, okay, it's an extra kind of motivation, kind of like when the Patriots uh drafted Jimmy G and they thought Brady was kind of over the hill, and Brady used that as fire to keep on going and saying I'm not done.
SPEAKER_00I don't think it was to light a fire, I think it was more of finding a future because Stanford probably only has a couple more seasons left in him anyway. So I don't think he should be getting mad. I mean, it's still his team. Yeah. So I mean I could tell that McVeigh wasn't too happy about it. Yeah, and so I guess we don't know how much a coach has a say.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I feel like I don't know, they I don't know if because the show like the draft interviews afterwards, and um on day two, McVeigh cleared up any kind of like body language or facial expressions he was showing, and I don't know if that's just him spinning everything, and but we'll see. And it's just kind of one of those things that we have to wait to see uh kind of come into fruition, which I hope it works out because that keeps us competitive for uh years to come, even after Stafford uh leaves or retires.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well uh what was the worst pick?
SPEAKER_01I mean, you probably already mentioned like the scratching pick or the worst pick.
SPEAKER_00Like like why, you know. Like why'd they get that guy? If you want I can go first. Yeah, I'll have you go first. I will say Caleb Banks. Uh the pick for Minnesota, their first round pick from Florida. Yeah. Uh just because um I mean he's good. I mean, I've seen him play in college. I mean, he's he's really, really good, and he's one of those linemen that, you know, he boun he gets off the line pretty quick. Mm-hmm. But uh he broke, I think what was it, his foot. Yeah. He broke it last season and was limited to three games, but then he also broke it again at the combine, which was requiring surgery. And it put him um and then uh I mean he was ranked like 62nd, I think. So taking him at number 18 was that was a kind of read. Kind of gutsy. And uh he was mostly sub I was just mostly surprised that Minnesota passed on Dylan uh Thyneman. But you know, I mean he can prove it's wrong.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's just I think when like a player gets injured, it kind of it hurts their draft stock, but I think some of these teams kind of overlook they uh look away from it of like but the potential is there to build off to work in our scheme or help our team in any way. Um but if he gets injured during his rookie campaign, it's gonna be like guys kind of knew this that he was injury prone, he had two foot surgeries. Um, but it's just one of those things that I just feel like the draft process is kind of like a wait and see because like you can't really um make a determination after one year, maybe two. It's usually year three is when you have to s you have to uh show something.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, that was I like to have seen him maybe go after running. I was thinking that maybe the Notre Dame running back, not Jeremiah Love, but the one that eventually went to Seattle. I thought Minnesota should have maybe drafted that one, dra drafted him just to help out that backfield, just because Aaron Jones had the he took a pay cut, but he's always kind of in and out of the lineup. And then you got Jordan Mason, who's on the last year of his deal. It's just like, well, if we can get somebody to kind of help JJ McCarthy or Kyler Murray, whoever's gonna assume the quarterback um the quarterback uh position for Minnesota, I think that's gonna be uh interesting. Judarian Price, that's who it was that I think Minnesota kind of should have got. But I feel like um one of the worst picks or kind of a head scratching pick was um gosh. Uh I felt like I think Jordan Tyson to the Saints was kind of a head scratcher. Just because they could have went from Makai Lemon, I felt like was kind of a overall better draft prospect. Um just because Tyson has had a history of injuries, um, I see where the Saints were going because Kellen Moore, he's a offensive-minded head coach and wants to get another receiver next to um Chris Alave, but because Alave is usually in and out of the lineups with concussions, um, but I've I think Jordan Tyson for me was kind of a head scratching pick. I knew he was gonna go pretty high or like mid-teens, but um I think the Saints could have picked a little bit a better receiver just because um just with his injury history, I fell, like I said, it's a kind of a wait-and-see league, uh wait and see with the drafts, um, just because you don't know um what these players are gonna do. It's going based on potential of what um based on potential of what they could do for the team.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. Uh there's always winners and losers in the draft for sure.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. And usually it doesn't get labeled until a little bit later, maybe three years from now, because I remember like Jared Goff being labeled a bust after year one, and then when McVeigh came to town, uh got him ready to play and kind of transformed him. Do you think he was a bust?
SPEAKER_00At all? Since you guys trained.
SPEAKER_01I don't think Jared Goff's a bust. I felt like um he had to overcome he had to overcome, excuse me, um kind of dysfunctional. We're excuse me. We were already overcoming a move from St. Louis to Los Angeles, and then uh kind of building off of Todd Gurley, having the sophomore slump, and but I felt like after his first season, it's just like he didn't really get too much action because Case Keenum was the starter for half the season, and then he got it, and then just looked terrible, but the offensive line was in shambles, the defense had Aaron Donald, but um just needed a few more pieces, and I think McVay re uh rejuvenated it, and I think in some in some capacity Goff uh is limited to what he can do. He's a pocket passer, um, but it's just one of those things where I think he shed I think he succeeded even though he went to Detroit for Matthew Stafford and had a bad season, and then kind of was one of the pillars that got Detroit to where they are now. And um, but I don't label him a bust. Carson Wentz, who originally is who I really wanted, but um he's just one of those ones that was too injury prone, and he ended up um just having a career full of injuries and just didn't really mesh well with locker rooms, and I think that was the biggest comp on him. Now he's been bounced around uh in the league from uh team to team. Now he's still with Minnesota and um but yeah, I think Carson Wentz in that year. I can't believe it's been 10 years on that um on that draft, but but I think one of the busts on my team on any draft was um I think his name was Greg Robinson, and he was an offensive lineman that I think we spent high draft capital on to um to reiterate that offensive line, but um there can be a lot a lot of bust for the Rams during those St. Louis years, and I still still like them. But um it's just one of those things that you gotta wait and see, and hopefully um players with the potential can um but um yeah Greg Robinson in 2014 was probably one of our biggest busts, along with um Jason Smith in 2009. Um but injuries and concussions kept him out of the lineup. I think one of the I think one of the ones that upset me the most was probably Sam Bradford, just cause like he was coming off a knee injury when he was at Oklahoma, and then um just him not being able to um live up to that first pick because every time he got healthy for the season, one of his knees would go out, and uh he didn't play all I think the only season he played fully was his rookie season and had us in playoff contention, which we ended up ended up uh losing to the Seahawks in the wild card in the wild card round. Uh not wild card round, but to get to the wild card. Um ended up in the season where the Seahawks had beast mode and they rolled the Saints and they had a seven and nine record, and everybody was up in arms about it of them uh getting in on a losing a losing record in a division. But uh but Sam Bradford for me was probably one of those ones that ended up being a bust, and I felt like he had the potential to be a good player in the league, but he ended up dealing with a bunch of knee injuries, then thought in Minnesota that he had rejuvenated his career, then his flare-ups with his knees kind of uh stopped him from making the comeback. But uh what team do you f uh what um what uh in years past, what uh player do you feel like was a bust for you guys?
SPEAKER_00Well um people I mean he's not the top one. I I've been hearing a lot of people like Tennessee fans, and he's not mine, but some people are saying Vince Young. Um I don't think so. He took us to the playoffs. He won Rookie of the Year, didn't he? Yeah. And uh he did come back. Yeah, we had a few comebacks with him. So he's I don't think he was that big. But probably Isaiah Wilson. Uh he was an offensive tackle that we got back in I think 2020. Mm-hmm. Um he was like the biggest flop, I thought. Yeah. Just play he only played like one game after being drafted and major I mean he he just was not that good.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh also sorry, go ahead.
SPEAKER_01If I remember correctly, the that he um just didn't have the passion to play and pretty much was lazy.
SPEAKER_00He had a bunch of uh off-field issues. Jake Locker, another one. Yeah. You know, we paid 10 round one. Yeah, I remember that. I mean he he had some good games, but not the best. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was about to say, who was going from bust, who was one of your favorite players that you drafted that your team drafted.
SPEAKER_00That was a hard one. I wouldn't have to say sorry, I had to keep you on your toes. I liked Steve McNair. Next to him was next to him was Eddie George. Uh he's league MVP, guy of the team to the Super Bowl. Mm-hmm. Uh you know, sucked up, he went to the Ravens.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But he's one of my favorite players next to Eddie George. And because Eddie George, he became the franchise's leading rusher.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Was Derek Derrick Henry close to oh yeah, Derek Henry's up there. But if you want to talk about like past pass, yeah. And then, you know, I liked Albert. I was a big Haynesworth fan too. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Even though sometimes he was dirty.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he was a yeah, sometimes he he was being a being a turd. What about you?
SPEAKER_01I would say uh of recent memory, I would say even though he's with Seattle, I would say Cooper Cup was probably uh one of my favorite players that we drafted. At the time, I was like, I was a head scratcher. I was just like, why are we grabbing a receiver? We do not need a receiver. And then he just kinda saw the intangibles and the football IQ of him being a leader and then just knew how the plays should work, how where to be, when the quarterback should have the ball out. Um I would say Cooper Cup's one of my favorite uh draft pickups, and then um my favorite one of my favorite players is uh Torrey Holt in his rookie season. He uh won a Super Bowl with uh with us and then had a went on to be a Ram for a majority of his career. Then I think he had one season in Jacksonville and is just still waiting to get in the hall. That's one of the things that I'm pretty upset about of uh of him not being in the Hall of Fame, especially with all the um all the talent that's about to be there now. And he had and he's probably one of my favorite players, and then uh then I'll s an honorable mention be Todd Gurley. Just be he was really great, and then just having the knee flare up, and it just was sad to see uh rising star kind of have his career cut short in his prime, just had Arthur Rice in the knee, and just never was the same. He had a great season after we traded him to um to the Falcons, but it's just like after that, I think he was fulfilled with um fulfilled with the uh his NFL career. And I almost forgot Aaron Donald was probably one of our better picks as well. Uh yeah, probably three-time defensive player of the year, Super Bowl champ, probably one of the best uh defensive tackles of all time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we I mean McNair or Eddie George both have not gotten to the Hall of Fame just yet. Yeah. Uh those if one of those was going, I'd like to go up there to see him get inducted. Um Tory Holt. One of my favorites, he was yeah, Tori Holt, if he ever gets in there.
SPEAKER_01Yep, if he ever gets in there, I think.
SPEAKER_00I would like to see the I was excited when Kevin Mulai went in there. He was one of my favorite centers. Yeah, but uh yeah, I mean at least I can say like Randy Moss and Andre Johnson were both Titans and they got inducted.
SPEAKER_01With one season.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, you know, we I guess because uh Warren Moon's in there, uh, Mike Munchek. But uh yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was about to say, and to kind of wrap up everything, both of our teams went through uh uniform change, if you will. Um how do you feel about your Titans going to that traditional like Houston Oiler uh throwback?
SPEAKER_00I liked it. I mean, on it was simple. Uh nothing too flashy, which was okay with me. Um a lot of people like I mean, I was I was listening, I don't know who I was listening to this morning. It wasn't a sports station, and for some reason, I think it was a rock and roll station. They were just on the subject of NFL and they were saying the worst uh uniforms or logos that was changed. Somebody said the Titans. Yeah. Which I was which is crazy to me. I mean, I like that we're going back to our colors, which means we're never gonna hear the end of it from Houston. Yeah. Well you know, it's never it's it's not their team. It's it's still the same owner as the Tennessee Titans. Yep. But um, but somebody also said the Rams was the ugliest one. Yeah. I liked ours. I think I think I think ours was probably the best looking one, new wise anyway. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01I was about to say, yeah, uh, like our rant the Ram symbol just went from kind of white fading to yellow with a little bit of blue trim. It went all yellow. And it's just like this was the big reveal. I thought we were getting like new newer uniforms where I think if you look up closely or watch a video on it, that they removed the Rams patch from it, the horns are a little bit more clear on the shoulders. Um when we were drafting, it looked like our um our symbol was all blue, and I was just like, okay, blue and white. Um but yeah, it's just one of those things that's kind of like a money grab for it. But um because you guys change is it is it all blue or is it all yellow? The symbol itself is all yellow, but like if you look at the on the draft, like the when the team was making the the Rams were making a pick. Yeah. But like um when it was like showing the Rams pick, the symbol wasn't that all yellow, it was all blue, which I'm just like I've seen both, yeah. Yeah. So we might have a I think when I was watching a video on it that we might be having s some uh uniform changes coming up maybe this summer or next year, but it'll be interesting.
SPEAKER_00I told you you guys should've just instead of just changing your uniform completely, just you guys should have just like had an alternate, you know, kind of like how the Washington does. You guys could have had your golden blue back.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Which I I would say the helmet changed to like the matte style. Like it's not shiny. I think it's more kind of like Minnesota's where it's just like kind of that rough. But and they are changed to have a horn.
SPEAKER_00Oh, the rams. Just a horn.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's rams and then like the R like hooks.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, hooks under the A or something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But as long as we win, I don't care.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You can go out there and anything.
