Hey, hey, hey you guys, welcome back to the Faithfully Confident Podcast. I am your host, christian Confidence Coach Courtney Berry, and whether you're joining us for the first time or you're a regular listener, I'm glad you're here. If God has called you to step into entrepreneurship while also navigating the beautiful yet challenging world of motherhood, you're in the right place. And we still talk about sales on here. But I feel we have a little bit of a pivot happening. So we will see how this goes with the podcast. So I've been praying about it for a while and we haven't had a few any episodes for the past like a few months. So we will see how this direction goes. But we'll still be talking about sales, we'll still be talking about marketing. We're just going to be nuzzling in a little bit of motherhood in this journey. Now. That is a big part of my life right now as a mom, but anyways. So being a mom and running a business, it is not easy. But today we're going to unpack what it means to stop letting excuses hold us back, no more leaning on the doubt, the overwhelm or fear as a reason to play small. This episode is going to be about pushing past those limitations, trusting that God's equipped us for both roles and, yes, we can embrace the hustle without sacrificing our families. You guys, or those dreams that he placed in our hearts? This is going to be or those dreams that he placed in our hearts, this is going to be a really bold, raw, no-nonsense episode about ditching the excuses, embracing the hustle, talking about how to keep moving forward, balancing business and motherhood, without letting one sabotage the other, and how to show up in just every area of our life with that boldness and confidence that God has equipped us with. So, if you are ready for that, let's pray.
Courtney:Heavenly Father, we come before you today with open hearts, ready to receive your wisdom and guidance as we navigate the journey of balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship. We know that this path is challenging, but with you by our side, lord, we are equipped to handle both the roles with grace and strength. Lord, we ask for the courage to confront our excuses, the reasons we often hold ourselves back from the growth and success that you have called us to. Lord, help us to recognize when we are letting the fear, doubt or overwhelm stand in the way of what you've placed on our hearts to accomplish. Lord, give us the boldness to push past those barriers, trusting that you will provide the energy, the resources and wisdom that we need to thrive in both motherhood and business. As we juggle the demands of raising children and building our businesses, remind us that we do not have to choose one over the other. With your help, lord, we can embrace the hustle without sacrificing the love and care that our families need. Lord, show us how to prioritize, lord, show us how to find balance. And, lord, show us how to lean into your strength when we feel that overwhelm seeping in and the enemy tries to attack. Lord, we pray for perseverance when the days feel long and the challenges seem too great. Lord, help us to stay focused on the bigger picture, the dreams that you've placed in our hearts and the impact that we are called to make. Lord, fill us with resilience and remind us that we are not alone in this journey. Oh, lord, we have you and we are so grateful. Lord, bless every mother listening, encourage her spirit and fill her with confidence, and remind her that she is capable of achieving the success that she desires without guilt or hesitation. May she step into her calling fully, embracing the hustle with joy, knowing that you are with her every step of the way, in Jesus' name, we pray amen.
Courtney:All right, you guys, let's begin this very powerful episode that I really felt the Lord calling me to do. And again, this isn't the normal type of episode that I'd be recording. It's very, very off key. But I feel like it's also kind of intertwined with entrepreneurship as well, because a lot of you are our mothers and trying to balance a business and it is tough, it is very tough to juggle being a mom, juggle being a wife, juggle your, you know, being a child of god and being a mom and a business. I think I said mom twice being a business owner. I like all the things.
Courtney:It's very challenging and there's especially if you're like myself and you have a toddler, balancing everything with your toddler's routine, those unpredictable schedules, those sleepless nights, the emotional demands of motherhood, very emotionally demanding. There I need to remind you, I just want to take a moment to remind you. It is so important on this journey to give yourself that grace and compassion, because it is very, it's very stressful. It is very stressful. There's lots of overwhelm, there's lots of doubt, like the enemy loves to attack moms who are trying to start a business, especially a faith-based business. He is so he is so, so up in there trying to knock us down. But we have God within us. We cannot fail.
Courtney:But it's very important that, through the lack of time, the exhaustion, the fear of failure, the guilt about balancing family and business, or just feeling like you're not enough those common excuses that many mompreneurs face it is very important that you very quickly, very quickly, learn how to turn those excuses, those mental barriers that stop you from moving forward in your business, that you learn how to just stop them, you learn how to just shut them right down, because it is tough, you guys, it's really tough, and that's why I feel like this episode is going to be just so powerful for so many of you, myself included. I know I'm going to go back and listen to this when I need it. I do that with a lot of my episodes, if I'm being honest. But, yeah, it's really important to just learn how self-doubt and overwhelm can lead to that procrastination and all those missed opportunities and those, especially, those sleepless nights, Because I mean again, motherhood entrepreneurship. I mean again motherhood entrepreneurship. Need I say more? But there's that scripture and I want you to remember to use scripture and your faith as fuel to continue to push yourself forward and continue on this journey because trusting in God's plan and using that faith to feel you, to push through those excuses and those very hard moments and just getting in that spiritual alignment, reminding yourself that God doesn't call us to exhaustion, but he calls us to this purposeful work, and we need to remember that if we're going to continue on this journey.
Courtney:It is very easy to feel like a failure. It's very easy to get stuck up in that exhaustion and feeling like, oh, I just don't have enough time. But we do have enough time and it's not that, you know, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle. I actually really hate the word hustle. I'm learning to love it and just embrace it in a different aspect. So to me now, hustling is it's not about burning out. So to me now, hustling is it's not about burning out, because that's what a lot of the I can't even think of the word a lot of what people think about when they think of hustling is burning out and just doing too much right.
Courtney:Embracing the hustle without the guilt is, you know, using your time intentionally, especially as moms, and focusing on what truly matters. That's where having those SOPs comes in handy with your business is you can get right down and start hustling, having that set focus, that set intention, that time to actually just get down and get it done, rather than feeling like you're in a hamster wheel and you're just running in circles and you're getting nowhere. Like, do you feel like that? I know I do all the time. So having those SOPs in your business is very important. So if you don't know what an SOP is, those are your standard operating procedures for your business.
Courtney:So that's maybe it's list of tools that you use and how each program is used to fit into your operations. It's including detailed steps on how to use each tool for that specific task within your business. It's outlining your customer journey, defining how you engage with your clients at each stage, ensuring that consistency and that quality of service. There's, you know, daily, weekly routines, workspace, organizations, even your mindset practices. I know mindset for me is a huge thing, so I'm constantly including like part of my my SOPs. You guys, is having a clear mind to start my day and start my shift for my work, having a clean inbox, having a clean desk, a glass of water and coffee, journaling with God to start my day at work, prayer for my day and my business and then I start the rest of my SOPs. Everybody's going to look different, but anyways, this episode is not about SOPs. If you want one like that there's everybody's going to look different, but anyways, this episode is not about SOPs. If you want one like that, let me know and I will happily do one.
Courtney:But back to what we were talking about. So, like again, running a business as a mom is tough. It is very tough, which is why we need to really get down and remember why it is that we're doing what we're doing. Because when you have that intention and that focus and you know that you can get it done, that mom guilt that creeps in and reminds us that we're not working hard enough, that we're sacrificing too much of time with our family, we're not working smarter, we're working too hard all of those things that kind of slowly creep in as we're actually starting to run our businesses. They get smaller and smaller and smaller, because we realize that we're ditching those excuses.
Courtney:I don't have time. Changes to how can I make time for what matters? Shifting your mindset and transcribing that's not the word I'm looking for and shifting it into a positive framework is so powerful. You guys shift your mind from things like I don't have time to how can I make time I'm I'm too exhausted. Well, how how can I shift my day to have more self-care? How can I shift my day to go to bed earlier? What needs to happen in order for me to go to bed and just actually rest? Like I don't know about you, but I recently just got diagnosed with ADHD. So, like before bed, I would always just lay in bed and have that endless to-do list just going, like now I get to go to sleep and I just I go to my bed and I go to sleep and oh my goodness, it is amazing.
Courtney:But you can do the same thing with your brains and how you're going about your day. You know the things are getting done. You know that you're doing the best of your abilities. You know that you're doing what you can with what energy you have left, with the fuel that God has given you through your faith and trusting in him. And remember that you know balancing hustle with that spiritual alignment. It's less exhausting and you're doing more purposeful work. So I want you to just remember that.
Courtney:Step back and pray before you start your shift. It's so powerful. Like I pray during these episodes. I pray before the episode, I pray after the episode. I'm constantly on my hands and knees Well, not really, but I'm constantly in prayer so that I I'm always spiritually aligned in what it is that I'm speaking about, what it is I'm delivering to you guys, and so that God can use me as a vessel to share what it is that he wants me to share with you. I want you to know that every challenge is it's a challenge, but it's also a chance to problem solve and build that resilience.
Courtney:I have been through so many things in my motherhood journey and I will say there is it's called seasons for a reason. We all go through different seasons. So right now, it not? I think I need more coffee, or, I guess, mom juice, as most moms call it. Apparently I love it. Oh, let's. Oh, my God, oh yeah, I do have coffee right there. Let's take a sip of this wonderful coffee, which reminds me I need to buy more creamer, anyways, but yeah, so when you are going through that journey and you are focusing on what matters and you're being more intentional with your time, and you're giving on what matters and you're being more intentional with your time and you're giving yourself that grace, you're giving yourself that compassion, and you were remembering that you are, you know, being a mom and an entrepreneur. Those are both really powerful things. They're very powerful things.
Courtney:But you also need to remember to balance the concept of what hustle is with the need for rest. God created the entire universe in six days. He spent the seventh day to rest. How much time do you think we need to rest? We're not God, we're not him. We need to rest. We're not God, we're not him. How much time do you think we need to rest as human beings? So remember to balance your hustle with rest and showing up for yourself, showing up for your family, and there is ways that you can do it, where you can take breaks and unplug and make your time more effective.
Courtney:When you get back to work, being productive and present in both your motherhood and your business, you have to take care of yourself, you guys, because if you're not taking care of yourself and you're not stepping back, it's really, really hard. It is really hard. I have struggled with that the majority of my motherhood journey as an entrepreneur. I've taken breaks, I've taken steps back, I've prayed and God just says it's not your time right now. Just be present, just show up, just be present. If I could leave you with anything from this episode, if I could leave you with anything, leave you with anything from this episode. If I could leave you with anything, it's that reminder that God placed this desire on your heart for a reason. He is not going to fail you. He is always there for you through every single season that you are in, the season that you're in right now the sleepless nights, the unpredictable schedule, the frustrations of I just cleaned up and now there's a mess again all the emotional demands of motherhood in general. It is a season. It will pass. Just be present in every single aspect of your life. Be present and show up and just be in the moment and everything will work out in the way that it is meant to work out.
Courtney:We, as humans, we are constantly, constantly trying to put the pieces of our life together and sometimes we're trying to literally put a square. What is it? A pair? How is that? What is that quote? It's like square into a circle or square, square in a circle. I don't know. I don't remember it is, but either way, you're trying to shove this thing somewhere that it does not fit and God's going. Just wait, I have the peace for you. You just need to be patient, you just need to trust me. You just need to breathe. You just need to breathe.
Courtney:So your call to action for this episode is I just I want you to be aware of your biggest excuses on why you're not successful yet and I want you to write them down. And I want you to create an action plan for how you can overcome each and every excuse this week, whether it's waking up earlier, whether it's delegating tasks, whether it's meal planning so the rest of your day goes easier with your life and your business and your toddler, or whatever age your kids are, whether it's setting that schedule and your time, blocking or setting boundaries with your family time, with your business time, whether you're being very firm and I'm only working an hour a day, whatever it is. Come up with an action plan on how you can overcome every single excuse that you just wrote down, because that's just it. They're just excuses, they're not reasons. It's not a reason why you can't do this and why you're not successful yet. It's just an excuse. It is just an excuse, that's all it is.
Courtney:I'm no different than you. I'm human. God placed desire on my heart and I can be just as successful as you. You can be just as successful as me, and I can be just as successful as you. You can be just as successful as me. And I had a mentor in my past who told me this quote and I want to share it with you because it's really the reason I've been so successful and have continued on my journey as strong as I have, and it's if she can do it, why can't you? Or why can't I? If they can do it, why can't you? Or why can't I? If they can do it, why can't I? Because we all start from scratch. We all start from the beginning. We all have a plan, we all have a desire.
Courtney:It's whether or not we choose to push through the challenges, push through the mindset blocks, those limiting beliefs, those barriers, those, those problems, whether we push through them all and we learn through them, we grow through them and we continue to persevere, because god will not give up on you. God is always with you through this season and you can do this. You absolutely can do this. You may not feel like you can see past this at the moment because it's so tough, but I promise you, if you just take that time to just step back and go, you know what.
Courtney:I can do it. I can do this. I believe in myself, I am capable, I can do this. God is with me. I cannot fail. How can we make this work, lord? What do I need to do right now in order to make this work, in order for me to get a step closer to where you want me to be? What do you need from me? Ask those hard questions, give yourself that grace, give yourself that compassion and just trust that you can do this and you are more capable than you truly believe you are. I believe in you and I know that you can do this. So with that I'll leave you. God bless you and I will see you for the next episode. You guys, bye.
