Blair and Khalia recount their experience celebrating their anniversary in Chicago!

SPEAKER_02

He's so far away.

SPEAKER_00

I'm sorry, you wanna come closer? Do you want to come closer to you?

SPEAKER_01

Come closer. No, I didn't say come closer.

SPEAKER_00

No, he hates me.

SPEAKER_02

What's up? Let me double check.

SPEAKER_00

Check what? That I moved? I'm right in the camera. Look at me. Don't have to worry about ever, Mr. Edwards.

SPEAKER_02

I'm always gonna worry about you, Mrs. Edwards.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, are you?

SPEAKER_02

Always.

SPEAKER_00

This one? Yes, I finally figured it out.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe you always figure it out.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. It's been a while. Shouldn't have left me.

SPEAKER_02

Little Aliyating.

SPEAKER_00

This hair is dirty.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, first of all.

SPEAKER_00

It's so dirty. Don't even look close. Like, don't even zoom into my hair. It is beyond dirty.

SPEAKER_02

Make sure we get a zoom in of her hair.

SPEAKER_00

No, the hair is we are gonna do this podcast and I'm gonna wash my hair right afterwards.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Well, I think you look fabulous. I think you look fantastic.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I love you showing up in all forms. I like it when you have your braids, I like it when you have your curls, I like it when you have your straight hair. Dirty, clean, gunky. Ew, it all to me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's how you know you love me.

SPEAKER_02

I begin your hair like this.

SPEAKER_00

You do not. You don't even touch my hair.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I learned never touch a black woman.

SPEAKER_00

You like touch your hair my hair like this.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't pet you with one finger.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, yeah. I'm like, yo, run your fingers through my hair.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I I just remembered. I mean, we know what the stigma is, and just because I'm black doesn't mean that I can just touch another black woman's hair indiscriminately.

SPEAKER_00

I'm your wife, and I've given you permission on many occasions.

SPEAKER_02

Well still, there's there's some there's some not a stranger, there's some muscle memory lessons in there.

SPEAKER_00

We've only been together for four years.

SPEAKER_02

I'm saying I I I've only been this way for since '93. All I'm saying though is uh I respect you and I just won't be touching your hair just because I feel like it, even if you go on my wife.

SPEAKER_00

It's kind of nice of like playing people's hair. Also, the sun's coming straight to you. It's kind, it's kind of cute. It's gonna roll up to that face of yours pretty soon here.

SPEAKER_02

Anointed. Yes. Um hey.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, it's like this running joke that I always start every podcast by saying that maybe you can make a compilation.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. It's very cute. Um baby.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We're back.

SPEAKER_00

We're back.

unknown

We're back.

SPEAKER_02

Finally. I um I apologize. Like I said, it's on me. It's on me. This guy. It's this guy.

SPEAKER_00

Is it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it is on me because um I was sick last time.

SPEAKER_00

You were ill. Ill after we had our Chicago experience. Maybe you were sick from the cold.

SPEAKER_02

I think so. I thought I could handle it. I was walking around, bundled up at the same time, got the snot dripping down, front and back, just walking around, thinking I'm getting a headache. I'm like, no, it's fine. You said that we wouldn't be walking a lot because it's cold. You lied to me. But anyway, um, come to find out. Woke up when we got back to Vegas. I'm like, oh, I'm still having a runny nose, I'm still coughing. Oh, I guess I'm just sick. It's what it is, though.

SPEAKER_00

I was fine. I'm unscathed.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's because you got that ice in your veins. What do you do? That's it.

SPEAKER_00

Very good. Also, why do you have all those holes in your shirt?

SPEAKER_02

Let's not let's not call me out on the podcast.

SPEAKER_00

I like that shirt though. What's going on with it? Got a moth in your closet?

SPEAKER_02

Wear and tear.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Uh I will say I'm actually quite thankful. I don't know. You think you're around more people than I'm around? I think I'm around more people than you're around. Who's around the most amount of people on a daily basis?

SPEAKER_02

You.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I've been sick once in Vegas in three years. I've been sick once.

SPEAKER_02

Let's keep that same energy so that you can always take care of me. I'm your baby. You can take care of me.

SPEAKER_00

What was that stupid thing that you had me watching with that guy who had like a diaper on? What was that thing called? Oh, Broad City.

SPEAKER_02

Jeff Amstein, Armston. Sorry, I don't have no money. I'm a baby.

SPEAKER_00

I remember you being like, come watch this with me. I got home from work and I was just so scared.

SPEAKER_02

Yo. I hated that. Well say you need to give you at least a three-episode chance.

SPEAKER_00

You keep saying this, and that's that's not my priority. If it's bad on the first episode, I'm not watching it. But I will say, the beast in me, we watched that when we were in Chicago. We'll get into the Chicago conversations, but we gotta talk about media and the beast in me, fire.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I think I I will definitely be piggybacking off of that discussion about the beast in me because how at to what lengths would you go to keep your loved ones protected, even when you know they're doing an absolute madness in the streets?

SPEAKER_00

I already told you. As soon as you rope me in, I'm done. I'm not going to prison for you. If you want to kill people, go kill people on your own and make sure you're good at what you do so I don't have to know about it. But don't rope me into it.

SPEAKER_01

Girl, you say you love me?

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Would you love me if I was down? And I'll would you still whose song is that? 50 Cent.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that's what I thought. Another very interesting guy who was recently in the news for his documentary that I also watched.

SPEAKER_02

I I refuse to watch that documentary. I just don't want to claim any negative energy from the It's Dark, dark sided. It's dark sided. She's not a Christian. His son's name's Christian, but that man is not a Christian.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I don't know, but that was a great ass documentary, and I heard there could be more episodes. That's the word on the street. And if there is, bring him out, bring him out. The next thing I need is a pu is a um is a hove documentary, because you know he's in some fuck shit too.

SPEAKER_02

They all they're all part of it. They would never lie. Let me tell you something. If there's one thing that I've known from being very ignorant on the outside, Rock Nation does not take any L's. They will never let that happen.

SPEAKER_00

It's squeaky clean, the tight, tight, tight, airtight. I know what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_02

You get it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I lost it. It's fine. Um, yeah, let's did we even did we even do the intros? No, because we don't need to. I know we don't need to. But anyway, welcome back to another episode of the open marriage podcast. I am your host, Blair Edwards. This is the beautiful Khalia Edwards, and we talk about all things marriage pop culture and dating. Now, for quick disclaimers, I just want to say this for some of the people in the back, some of y'all back there. You might be new to this, but we are not in an open marriage. However, we do open up the conversation around marriage. So please tune in, sit back, get your food ready, make sure you got your seatbelt on if you're driving and listen to this podcast and listen to our stories.

SPEAKER_00

That was great.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I've been practicing.

SPEAKER_00

Thanks. Good job. I thought you were gonna high-five me, but it's okay.

SPEAKER_01

Can I do that handhug?

SPEAKER_00

In the middle.

SPEAKER_01

What is it?

SPEAKER_00

In the middle.

SPEAKER_01

What is this?

SPEAKER_00

In the middle. Cut the pizzo. Good job.

SPEAKER_02

Do you know this kind of reminds me of up high? Down below. Too slow.

SPEAKER_00

No. It's this. Up high. Down low. Okay, again. Up high, down low, in the middle. Too slow.

SPEAKER_02

I'm triggered.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, you lost.

SPEAKER_02

So we're back.

SPEAKER_00

We're back. We celebrated our anniversary.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Two years.

SPEAKER_00

Two year anniversary.

SPEAKER_02

Two years. Why? Why? How?

SPEAKER_00

Why what?

SPEAKER_02

Why do you still want to be married to me? We two years going on 20, going on 200.

SPEAKER_00

I thought you were gonna say, why do I want to still be married to you? I was like, okay, we need therapy.

SPEAKER_02

Have you seen yourself? Have you heard yourself? Have you smelt yourself? You are you elevate all my senses, my lifestyle. Okay, look, I know sometimes people get oh my god, this guy's just glazing. That's my wife. Of course, I'm gonna glaze her. Love this woman. Look at you.

SPEAKER_00

What does glazing mean?

SPEAKER_02

I'm not sure if it's appropriate to say, but I'm gonna say anyways.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think so. I uh I'm scared.

SPEAKER_02

Glazing's like it's an internet term, which of course was made by you know the streaming um black community uh community, but glazing is just basically like when you're on someone's dick and you you glaze it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, that's enough. Thanks for that. Well, it wouldn't be what's the appropriate term that I could use for when I do a similar thing for you, but you don't call it that because obviously it doesn't make sense.

SPEAKER_01

Height knee, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Yeah, you're cute. You're cute, you know that? Whenever you start doing that kind of thing, I just think about when you watch football, and Blair does not like sports. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Contrary to popular belief.

SPEAKER_02

Well, well, I I like sports, I just don't watch it.

SPEAKER_00

What sport do you like um the most?

SPEAKER_02

Dodging controversy. That's my favorite sport.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah, exactly. My point. So anytime that there's sports on TV, like for example, today's Sunday, and there's quite a few games going on today, and uh, because we want to move to Chicago, I'm really trying to get into watching the Bears. They're actually good this year, uh, and they're currently playing the Browns, which if it's a black quarterback, Blair is interested in watching the game. So we could be watching that after this, but we have more things to do. Anywho, when we watch games, the one thing that he's most concerned about, or that he's watching, is whatever's happening in the end zone after a touchdown is his favorite part, and he just cackles when he launches the TV.

SPEAKER_02

I I think just growing up and training to be a dancer in a form of like a celebratory energy, it's just great to see non-dancers do the same thing. I love seeing um whoever runs into the end and they're just like oh I love that.

SPEAKER_00

It's just it's just that's how you like it.

SPEAKER_02

And it's good fun, and the whole team is just like, yes, I I love that. In fact, what would be do you have does everyone have like a signature touchdown thing, or do they have like meetings where they're like, okay, if any of us gets a touchdown, we're all on the same page, this is what we do.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I'm sure there is. I I don't know, I don't have anyone that I'm like close within the NFL, so I don't know. Uh, so I can't speak on that exactly. But I'm sure there's if if it's a large group of them doing multiple things, it'd have to be sort of pre-conceived.

SPEAKER_02

I think it's dope as hell. I I think that's the only reason why I would even consider going into sports, is just so I can do my touchdown dance.

SPEAKER_00

Going into sports as if it's like something that you just go happen to fall into.

SPEAKER_02

I'm pretty sure I can get into the NFL if I if I trained. I'm gonna train with Dion. I'll be right up in the NFL combine.

SPEAKER_00

No one in this household is going into the NFL. That's for sure. For sure to me. Not even our kids. CTE? You know about that? Uh-uh.

SPEAKER_02

CTE? Yeah. I know about C R T.

SPEAKER_00

What is that?

SPEAKER_02

Critical race theory. Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

All right, so we went to Chicago for our anniversary. We really went to go see Leon Thomas perform.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

So we went to Chicago, we got to see a concert, and then we ate some good food.

SPEAKER_02

Chicago, hey, look, I know uh I don't know how you might feel about Chicago, but I know how I feel about Chicago. It's the most beautiful city on earth.

SPEAKER_00

On earth.

SPEAKER_02

On earth. I mean, I haven't explored all cities. I know that I'm being being, what's the term? Hyperbolic.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. Either way, uh, I love Chicago. Chicago is a special place in my heart. We've been there twice now. We've been there during the summer and we've been there during the winter.

SPEAKER_00

At least together.

SPEAKER_02

At least together. It's been a beautiful time. I've loved it. Great food, um, mid-western like vibes as far as like people just just having good energy to one another. Oh my gosh, man.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, people are people are kind for sure.

SPEAKER_02

And I know, like, when I mention Chicago to some people, oh my god, I heard it's dangerous. And I'm like, okay, look, I I get it. Every place has dangerous places there, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

But it's also just like propaganda, you know. I don't know. Someone was talking to me about this. They're at like, isn't Chicago, I think one of my educators like, isn't Chicago dangerous? And I'm like, is every kid in Africa malnourished with a big belly? Like, obviously not. That is propaganda.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

You're going to hell. You cannot say that.

SPEAKER_02

We okay. Obviously, it's not true.

SPEAKER_00

Right, but what I'm saying is it's like, we can't just like first of all, we can't just trust media to give us the full story. And secondly, uh-oh. Controversial.

SPEAKER_02

Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_00

Put a gray cloud over me at the game.

SPEAKER_02

Fake news. Fake news.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't say fake news.

SPEAKER_02

You are fake news. Hey.

SPEAKER_00

What I'm saying is, is we didn't get a chance to go in October, which would have been great because it would have been fall. My parents were gonna go. We couldn't go because ice was there all over the streets.

SPEAKER_02

You ain't gonna get me. No. And we ain't talking about the snow.

SPEAKER_00

Right, exactly. And so going in winter was just the best. And for all the naysayers naysayers out there, which some of them are friends that are like, it's so cold in Chicago. It's so I'm like, shut up. Like, respectfully shut up. If you want to live in the hot ass desert, that's your decision. If you want to live in the cold ass cold, that's your decision. Like, we can all pick where we want to live. There's more to a city than just the what the weather. Um, and I grew up in California. So if anyone knows what it's like to be able to go outside 365 all times of the day, it's me. I live that life. So did you in Florida. I mean, there really wasn't a day that you besides like hurricane season that you couldn't really go outside.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But let me let me live and let me love my city. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think I've I would like to say I I'm pretty sure I've lived in every single kind of environment. I mean, going from England and yes, I remember what it's like to grow up and live in England, gray skies, cold, rainy, not all the time, but experiencing that waking up, boiling a kettle, pouring it over your windshield in order to like defrost it. Like, I I remember all of that. Then going to Florida where it's hot, muggy, humidity, and people are complaining about Florida, but I love the moisturizer, natural moisturizer. That swamp give me that swamp. Hey, I know Doji calls herself the swamp princess, but I am the King Swamp. King swamp liveth. Long live.

SPEAKER_00

That's how you like to have your armpits be kind of like swampy.

SPEAKER_02

It's really the underwear. If you think my armpits are I know.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes I have to sniff your underwear before I wash them, and it's the balls. I'm like, yo, you good? I'd be doing this in your underwear?

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

No, you don't.

SPEAKER_02

Love that. You're gonna check right now?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Come here.

SPEAKER_02

Anywho, it's Florida. I I love all of that. Then I came to Vegas, dry climate, waking up with nosebleeds. It is what it is.

SPEAKER_00

Nose constantly dry. Wash your hands, hands cracked, cuticles looking dry all the time.

SPEAKER_02

I appreciate it.

SPEAKER_00

Yesterday, the other day, your hands were white, like you dumped them in like a bunch of sugar, powdered sugar. I'm like, yo, this is just not good.

SPEAKER_02

I was white knuckling, it was a high octane day. But now thinking about possibly possibly moving to Chicago. I would not be mad at that. I know people are like, oh my god, I could never. Man, I was up in Chicago, man, shy town. What up, common?

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

What up yay? Yay. What up? Uh Swind of Fire, Hebrew Brantley.

SPEAKER_00

He's from there?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh shit.

SPEAKER_02

This is what I'm telling this is what I'm trying to tell you.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I'm trying to tell ye.

SPEAKER_02

Up BJ the Chicago kid. Chance the kid. Chance the rapper.

SPEAKER_00

Uh what was your highlight of the trip?

SPEAKER_02

Highlight of my the highlight of my Chicago trip was being able to hold your hand as we walk through the city and have hot chocolate.

SPEAKER_00

We only had hot chocolate one time.

SPEAKER_02

It was enough for me to be the highlight.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, it um, yeah, okay, first of all, being able to explore anywhere with you is fantastic. Let's put that to the side. We get that. Highlights of Chicago. Every day was fantastic, but I really did like when we were walking through the city and we stumbled upon Lavanes. I was like, yo, I didn't even know they had a Levanes hit.

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_02

I didn't know.

SPEAKER_00

Bro, I'm also kind of mad because we went to Levain, we happened to stop by Lavanes as we finished having our like beef sandwiches, which I'm happy that you obliged that because I feel like that's something you'd be like, baby, we have to have greens and a salad.

SPEAKER_02

I love my greens. It's just when it's just too much like it's a Midwest.

SPEAKER_00

We're on vacation. Fuck a green. Anyway, so I'm glad that you didn't care about the greens. So then we were walking, going to the Christmas market that's like right next to our hotel, and you're like, We're gonna get hot chocolate. And then we see Lavaine's, and then we go in there, and he's gonna order just a hot chocolate with no cookie. I'm like, Are you mad?

SPEAKER_02

I I I was just trying to be cognizant. I can't have too many sweets.

SPEAKER_00

It's just I don't care about how much sweets you have. We need to have Lavaines. We don't even have one anywhere near us unless we drive to California to get them.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe Lavaine could come out here. That would be nice.

SPEAKER_00

The thing about I we were just uh talking about uh Erwan with my team. They're like, oh no, are we getting an airwan? I'm like, no, they're shipping to Las Vegas. We don't have an Airwan here yet, but the market, it's like we're split. You got people who have money that live in Vegas, there's a a lot of them. Uh usually I feel like it's on either side of the city. It's either in Summerlin or Henderson's where we're like the big money is at like $30 million like mansions, right? So there's a market for it, but we're just behind in Vegas still, you know?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean, Vegas is going through a lot of changes. I mean, it's a desert, there's not a lot of fruitful things that can be built out here, but there are some changes being made, and I can't wait to see what Vegas does next. But maybe having an Air One or a Levain or I mean, we just got Blue Ball, shout out.

SPEAKER_00

Thank God.

SPEAKER_02

What else could we get though? We need to see a sweet greens out here, man.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but I feel like I told you they're the stock is not doing well for sweet green and cava. So I don't know if they're gonna keep expanding or like what will happen. We just need better. There's either like super inexpensive food options or super expensive food options. There's nothing in between. Where other major cities have other options that are in between. Like, for example, if we want to eat dinner and I don't want to cook anything, we eat the same things every single time because there's not a lot of options.

SPEAKER_02

I I would say there's a lot of options, but there's not a lot of options for us because we like what we like. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

There's just not a lot of. I mean, what what would you eat?

SPEAKER_02

If we didn't eat the usual things that we had. Yeah. I would give some of these different places a try. It's just uh like for example, I'm like, would I I don't know, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Like you're gonna eat the folks right there. Yeah, I probably not. No, it's gonna give you like salmonella.

SPEAKER_02

They I'm pretty sure they have an A score, but all I'm saying is this like more options for takeout, more takeout options.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we love we love a good option for takeout. But uh, okay, so yours was settling upon Lavaine. Mine was our anniversary dinner.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, that was fantastic.

SPEAKER_00

So, what you don't know is that Blair placed the burden of deciding everything that I need that we were gonna do in Chicago on me to do all of the work, including getting the flights, getting the hotel, figuring out our itinerary, planning the dinners. And yeah. So, anyway, I'm just saying this because you literally keep saying it, and I don't mind at all.

SPEAKER_02

I I feel sick. I'm so sorry.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just kidding, baby.

SPEAKER_02

I'm so sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I'm just kidding. No, but honestly. I don't want to say that's how I like it, but I do enjoy being the one who plans things. I've tried to relinquish my need to create an itinerary for every day because in the inside, that's what I'd like to do. But when you go on vacation for a few days, it's nice to just kind of leave things up for chance. So you don't have to like plan out everything by the minute.

SPEAKER_03

Sure.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, but I was having a really hard time finding a place for us to have anniversary dinner because in a big city, it's kind of like remember when you used to come to LA and then you're like, oh, where can we eat? I'm like, oh, I already have reservations. You're like, we need reservations. I'm like, yeah, it's a city. Uh it's the same way in Chicago, and because there's so many Michelin star well-rated uh restaurants, you people book out so far in advance. So we went to Maple and Ash, which if we ever want to go again, they have one in Scottsdale.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So not far from here. But uh I had seen on their Instagram account before I had told Blair where we were going that when it's like you're celebrating an anniversary or birthday, they basically print on their menu uh I don't know, they have like a slogan of like like putting fuck somewhere like in the menu or like on something.

SPEAKER_02

Can I can I grab it? Can I show it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I bet I bet where is it?

SPEAKER_02

I have it. I saved it.

SPEAKER_00

Oh Blair, oh yeah, I did ask Blair to put it in his suitcase on the way back. I had no room since I was fitting his size 12 loafers in my bag. Uh, but they basically print like happy fucking anniversary on like a menu. Uh, and it's so cool. We're actually gonna frame it and hang it in our our next house that we have. Uh yeah, it's so cute. I love it. Um, so yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Happy fucking second anniversary, Kalia and Blair.

SPEAKER_00

How cool would it be if we just like went there every year for anniversary and then we just collect them all. Have them lined up. Yeah, that'd be super fucking cool. Um you got money like that? Yeah. Well, I so it's thanks to my parents who actually paid for the dinner because my parents are the sweetest people in the world. Thank you, Mom and Dad. Yeah, thanks, Mom and Dad. Uh, who literally paid unbeknownst to us when we finished our meal, they were like, oh, by the way, G and Pop paid for it. I'm like, what the heck? Uh anywho, it was the most perfect dinner because I was so afraid it would be bad. I don't know, I've never been there before. You're trying to like read Yelp reviews, make sure that it looks like it's good enough, uh, the menu looks good. Uh, but talk about unreasonable hospitality, talk about uh just all the stops. We might a great couple next to us celebrating their 25th anniversary. Um, you had some caviar for free, uh, a free drink, so did I.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It was just delicious.

SPEAKER_02

We what do you remember what we had? We ordered um it was like a shepherd's pie with lamb chops. We got the lobster mac and cheese. That was delightful. What are you telling me, man? We was eating nice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, some halibut, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, some halibut. Just for the hell of it. And then we had that dessert.

SPEAKER_00

What was the dessert again?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was the apple the the the um the the tarting. Yeah. It was like apple crumble basically. Gillette. I love that.

SPEAKER_00

Apple gallette.

SPEAKER_02

Sha up, man.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so anyway, we'll be going back there. If you ever are in Chicago, I 12 out of 10 recommend. Um last time we were there, we had a similar experience at Bavett's. Um the unfortunate part is we did not have a good experience at Bavett's in Las Vegas. Do you want me to not say that?

SPEAKER_02

Do you know it's so okay.

SPEAKER_00

This is the thing I see is hang like this.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, the the the thing about I'm sure you know this about Calia, but she's a woman of taste. You're a woman of taste class discernment, and I love that about you. This is one of the out of the thousands of reasons why I was like, hey, let me let me buck up with you. But if you say you don't like something, you'll just shit on them, like easily.

SPEAKER_00

I it's not shitting, I'm just saying I didn't have a great experience. Yeah, I they I'm not saying don't ever go there again and protest them. I'm just saying, personally for me and for you, unless you don't want to be part of this and suddenly you like don't want smoke. I stand by my wife's comments. It just wasn't the same.

SPEAKER_02

I I feel as though maybe because it was our first time going to Chicago, maybe it's our first time going to be vettes, maybe it's the first time experiencing that that energy that when we came to the Bivettes in Vegas, it wasn't the same vibe. So it was like, uh So, not necessarily that the Bivettes isn't good in Vegas. I think we were just comparing it to Chicago for our first first experience.

SPEAKER_00

Sure, that's your opinion. Trying to clean up not mine.

SPEAKER_02

I'm trying to clean it up. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Let me be controversial. I don't care. I'm not paid by Bivettes of Las Vegas to freaking give them a good review. Sorry. I didn't write a Yelp review about them. I could have.

SPEAKER_02

This is your Yelp review right now.

SPEAKER_00

No one's listening to me that tough. Anyway, the dinner was great. We had a great time. The only regret I have is not going into that photo booth that was free. Yeah, I because you realize we have one from New York and from Atlanta.

SPEAKER_02

Where we took a picture?

SPEAKER_00

Photo booth pictures.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I didn't even realize.

SPEAKER_00

The one from New York is over there, and then the one from Atlanta is over there in the fridge.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Next time. Next time. We'll go back to Chicago. I promise you that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we will. It was a great time. Now the concert.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. We saw the Leon Thomas concert. I think this is where I can take over. This is my area of expertise. Isn't it? Not necessarily, but I can talk about it if you'd like. Because you would like I make a bad look.

SPEAKER_00

You're talking too much, baby. No, no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

I promise you, I promise you.

SPEAKER_00

Shut up, Poe.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just trying to be nice.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-oh. Shut up.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so we went to the Leon Thomas concert. What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

What did you think?

SPEAKER_02

Well, first and foremost, the Leon concert. I had a brain fault. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

First of all, the Leon concert.

SPEAKER_02

The Leon Thomas concert started before we even entered the venue. First and foremost, it was cold outside. We typically we we did GA this time. Next time we doing we doing uh VIP. We have to do that. But what I'm saying though is we got there maybe about 30 minutes before they opened up the doors for general admission. So we were in the cold. Lord, we had that, we were bundled up, we had that one scar scarf. I wrapped it around you, you wrapped it around me.

SPEAKER_00

My ears were feeling like they were bleeding from the inside out, is how cold it was. Because I was thinking, okay, they changed the venue, so I didn't like and didn't know anything about this new venue that we were going to. But then I was like, okay, we're not gonna be outside for a long period of time, so I shouldn't be bringing all these things with me, like a beanie or a scarf. And then also not to mention who wants to be carrying all this shit inside of a concert, not coat checking because then you get stuck and then you can't get the Uber to get out. So I just didn't bring anything.

SPEAKER_02

The whole thing.

SPEAKER_00

And I paid for it. My ears paid for it.

SPEAKER_02

And and now we know we know that if there's anything that you want to bring, I will hold these things for you.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't like that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Either way, so we were standing out until cold for about 30 minutes, and then finally, when we finally got in, you know me. I'm like, hey, let's get to the front as fast as possible, if possible. Go up to the front. It was a good little time. There's a couple openers. Um, I'm forgetting that gentlewoman's name.

SPEAKER_00

Um gentlewoman? You're so British.

SPEAKER_02

I'm forgetting that broad name. Tangerine, something I don't know. Yeah, she uh you have a good memory. No, no, it was just a one-word.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what I'm just making it up. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Either way, either way, she so there was a couple openers.

SPEAKER_00

She was not good.

SPEAKER_02

I I think This is why I absolutely love it. She was not good. This is why I absolutely love because at some point you have an opener for somebody else, and it's like they're getting their feet wet. Well, it's not that they're getting their feet wet, but this is gonna be the first time people are hearing of you. Right. So it's like, how do you understand how to perform? How do you understand how to communicate with the crowd? What's the right kind of set list, so on and so forth. But um, I thought that she was different, but her music wasn't like get me out of here. It wasn't like Showtime at the Apollo, like walk, walk, it wasn't that.

SPEAKER_00

But then she they everyone when you looked around the crowd when she was singing, everyone was like this.

SPEAKER_02

I think because I think they were just waiting for Leon Thomas.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Blair's too nice right now. Anyway, so that when we had ombre, the girls were going crazy, dropping their draws.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. But by the way, she she can sing, she she's really nice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I didn't care.

SPEAKER_02

That's nothing for the collision. Like, all right.

SPEAKER_00

Also, speaking of that lady, um, she I was in the car the other day, because I recently switched over to Apple Music, and she came up on some random playlist, and I was like, next, I think flashbacks to the concert. I was kind of feeling scared. The concert was like a bit m like people around us when they started drinking too much, we're just getting a bit too much for me.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, my thing about concerts, hey, hey, hey, hey, public service announcement. Mini rant going on. Just a mini rant.

SPEAKER_00

Mini.

SPEAKER_02

Mini.

SPEAKER_00

Wait, say the full word of mini.

SPEAKER_02

Mini. A miniature rant. Yes! A miniature rant. That's what you want.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Aluminium.

SPEAKER_00

He's so good.

SPEAKER_02

PSA. I want to do a Deontay card like.

SPEAKER_01

If you're out! If you're out in the club! Who is that?

SPEAKER_02

Never mind. Uh shrimp and grits. Okay, look that.

SPEAKER_00

Doing a shush.

SPEAKER_02

Mini as no, not you, shush. I was like, I was gonna go into a whole thing. I was like, let me not do that. Okay. PSA.

unknown

P.

SPEAKER_02

Do not come to a concert if you have health complications. What does that mean?

SPEAKER_03

What?

SPEAKER_02

What does that mean? Please do not come to the concert if you're not properly hydrated, if you smoke too much, if you do anything that can possibly cause harm to your body, like to your well-being. So much to the point that if we're watching a concert and then people passing out, doing teachers.

SPEAKER_00

That was so scary.

SPEAKER_02

I'm tired of this shit. I am so fucking tired of it. And maybe this is ableist. Maybe this is not caring about my fellow person. And you might be absolutely right. But there are some things that you just shouldn't do. Please don't come drunk as fuck. Please don't come high as fuck. You don't need to. If you're epileptic, you can't. I'm not saying you need to stay out of time. That's not what I'm saying at all. But there's some things that people specifically do that just doesn't increase their well-being. So that when this person's passing out, everyone's gotta stop the show. You're making people scared and shit. There was some right so some guy right next to us who passed out. And he got up like, what happened?

SPEAKER_00

But then he came back and he was still sweating.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, no, dude, get up out of here.

SPEAKER_00

But not to mention, okay, do you have to add another uh demographic to the who shouldn't come to a concert? Is anybody who needs a procedure? Blair.

SPEAKER_02

You know, if you were at the Leon Thomas Chicago concert and you were talking about having a pr uh doing breast augmentation.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, breast reduction. Isn't it augmentation is bigger? Oh, reduction is to take him away. But not only talking about like it's fine if you need a reduction. I know people who had needed a reduction or who've gotten one. What I'm saying is is when you start finding friends that you didn't know before the concert to touch your shoulder blades to touch the indentations or the muscles or something that's causing the boobs to hurt you more, it the it was just like too much. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed.

SPEAKER_02

Well, see, this is one of the reasons why maybe it was just way too bougie to be in general admission, and maybe we should have been up in a balcony washing. But like there's a lot of wild things that you see when you're in general admission, and that's one of the things I like about going to the concert to some degree, is like the people.

SPEAKER_00

But once I started seeing people taking out their cameras and like seducing on Snapchat, I didn't know we were still using Snapchat.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't know we were still using Facebook. I was seeing Instagram Live, Facebook Live, Facebook Live, Snapchat. People are still using Snapchat. I didn't know that. I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_00

That's gotta be like a sneaky link behavior. Did I ever tell you that my ex only ever wanted to be using Snapchat to communicate?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you dirty dog.

SPEAKER_00

How bad is that? Yeah. Should have known he was cheating from that part anyway. That's a story for a different day. You know who you are.

SPEAKER_02

Y'all telling on yourselves, man. Y'all telling on yourselves. But yeah, and then and then you can't help but be up in other people's phones. I'm seeing a lot of baby pictures.

SPEAKER_00

Like, where's your baby?

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, who's taking care of the babies? Which is also a good thing. It's like, hey, yeah, I'm glad that you have community and that people can look after your kids. You you deserve a break. You know what I mean? There's just way too much going on.

SPEAKER_00

Way too much going on. I was like smelling whiffs of farts. That's why I also don't like GA. It's like there's too much bodily things going on.

SPEAKER_02

If I could choose, I would much rather smell weed than body odor. But I'd rather not smell anything.

SPEAKER_00

Like weed puffs. Remember that one girl.

SPEAKER_02

That's all they're doing. Why are you trying to get everybody else high?

SPEAKER_00

But it's also just like secret. They're not like they're not trying to be out in the open. You just see them like you just see someone snake in front of you, and then all of a sudden it's a puff of smoke around your whole body. I'm like, yo, just be respectful. Puff that down your shirt.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, fuck that. Everybody getting high. And also, people just like pushing to the front and standing in front of people. Yo, Khalil was about to fight somebody.

SPEAKER_00

Blair always has to stop me from like doing what I want. I'm like, yo, let me let me elbow somebody in the gut. Like, I don't know. They won't know it's me. They're not gonna do anything. I'm too big. I had like heels on this big.

SPEAKER_02

You're a menace.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't care. I literally don't care. Anyway, the overall concert was fine. I think where I'm upset about the concert is we didn't hear mutt, and we didn't we didn't hear not fair. Okay, in in and we the reason we didn't hear is because we left we were in the center towards the front of the stage. Now, of course, what I also want to know before I go into this tangent about what I don't like is that Blair was checking to make sure the entire concert wasn't doing anything with Leon Thomas. Now, mind you, when I say doing anything, he too careful. He was referencing when I made oogly eyes at Tyler the Creator.

SPEAKER_02

I just, okay, look.

SPEAKER_00

Who, by the way, was my number one artist on Spotify Raps.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, whatever. Anyway, look, I don't be like pussy patrolling. You know what I mean? I don't wanna, I don't wanna, I don't wanna put a leash on you, baby. You you do whatever you want to do.

SPEAKER_00

Pussy patrol. I just am I'm gonna have my vagina out at the concert.

SPEAKER_02

No, but what I'm saying is it's I don't wanna dampen or hinder your experience. But this is what I've come to find out. Sometimes you just have a real lucky streak with the artist trying to like have some some kind of you see what I did, lucky, pun intended. They tend to have a real like there's opportunities where they can interact with you, and I'm like, good, interact with my missus, because she's fantastic. But you know, at some times you just gotta be a little careful. So at some point he's talking, like he was playing uh yes it is, but he was just like, he was like, Okay, everybody sing after me. When I say yes it is, you say yes it is.

SPEAKER_00

No, when you I say it's mine. No, no.

SPEAKER_02

First he just said, Yes it is, yes it is. Okay, yes it is, yes it is. And then he said, Is it mine? I looked at Khalil like ha ha and she went like this. I said, Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No, I looked at you, I looked at you and I said, Yes, it is playing these games. Here's the thing I don't ever go out of my way, as we all know in this podcast, to ever try to get some artist to see me at a concert. I don't do anything out of the ordinary, I don't have my titties out, I don't have my ass out, I don't even have when we went to tell the creators' concert, I didn't even do anything. I came from work. I didn't even do my hair, I put on a sweater, my whole body was covered up. So Mashallah. Right. Might as well give me a freaking hijab. Blair just thinks I'm out here making those, like, what's that um movie where the cat's eyes like are like hypnotic or like the snake? Is it jungle book or something?

SPEAKER_02

I think it's jungle book.

SPEAKER_00

The snake's eyes like Blair thinks that I'm the snake, like that, looking at the people performing, and then they have the eyes looking like that.

SPEAKER_02

I I I let me for the sake of clearing the air, I don't think you do anything specifically. I'm just saying it's very hard to not notice you, and then there might be some people in the comments be like, I ain't no baby checking for her. Yo, if you were with me, you would see this shit for a bit, and you'd be like, yo, everyone tends to holler at Clee in some kind of way, shape, or form. It is what it is. It's fine.

SPEAKER_00

It did happen last night as uh I was leaving work. I was with Ashley, and these like literal I don't I don't want to be disrespectful, but what do you call them? Like I don't wanna be careful. I know I'm trying to think about what I could call them.

SPEAKER_02

We still possibly want to guess sponsor.

SPEAKER_00

Like just um mis misfits, it's how I'm gonna call them. Okay, we walk out of the door, all the security guards, like the security guard that's in my store is outside talking to some other like mall security people, and then we walk out of the store, it's 7 30, so it's dark already, but it's not super late. And these couple misfits, one of them turns around looking raggedy and skinny, like just I don't look too much because I'm like, I don't want to know anything about this person or what they got going on. They might think I'm trying to like get get in. And he's like, Oh, where you going? I'm trying to go where you go. And he's like, and the other guy's like, I'm gonna go with her, she's gonna go with me. And I'm like, I'm not going anywhere. So we just stand back and let them pass by, and they find some other misfits, and I'm like, hey, we gotta hightail it to the car every time there's something that happens. This is a strip, this is America.

SPEAKER_02

I think this is the state of the world. I don't think people realize how often women are, I don't want to say under attack, but y'all have y'all have a lot of energy put towards y'all 24-7. And I think you know, you handle a lot with grace. Thank you. Um, but in a context of people trying to holler at you, hey, I this is my witcher, you know what I mean? Which reminds me of a TikTok topic that I want to talk about, but we'll talk about it a little bit later.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, wait. Let me go back to what I didn't like about the concert. So we had to, we were in the center in the middle. We needed to leave because we needed to get out of there before Ubers got crazy and we couldn't get out because it's so cold outside, right? So he's like, hey, when it gets to like, you know, he came on at this time, when it gets to this time, we're gonna like start getting out. And it's packed, so like we gotta go through all these people to get out, and I hate that shit. So as we're exiting, I don't even know what song he's singing, and then we start walking out, and I'm he I'm hearing not fair, and I'm like, I'm so sorry. The only song exactly, the only song I want to sing from the front to the back is not fair, and now we have to leave this place.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I guess it really was not fair.

SPEAKER_00

Not fair.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it wasn't anyway.

SPEAKER_00

So I just didn't like the fact that he had a weird set list. I'm like, play the shit that I want to hear in the middle of the concert at least, not the very last song. Like, I get that you're trying to keep everyone in the venue so you can get cool photos and videos, but like, bro, come on, this is just like not it. Um yeah, I so I just didn't over like I overall didn't like the set list, and he was doing something weird with his mouth that I didn't like the whole concert, so it was really hard for me to enjoy. Um, but I just tried to like not look at him.

SPEAKER_02

And next man's mouth, crazy. Do you know what? Um I I think when it comes to maybe because I've been in so much theater shows and I see a lot of cohesiveness and then go into concerts, I always have some kind of it's hard to turn my brain off as a creative and watching other creative people do creative things because I'm like, okay, this is why are they approaching it like this? What's the what's the motif? What's the theme and whatnot? But I will say that Leon Thomas, you you you are on the track to being an artist's favorite artist because you are fantastic, you're a great songwriter, great singer, great performer. I think where there might have been a slight disconnect is people not realizing that you're a rock star. So when you come out and bust out the guitar and you you drop down to your knees and you're shredding playing with your mouth and shit, I'm like, that's probably the thing that yeah, sorry, bro, the mouth thing again.

SPEAKER_00

But what I'm saying is you didn't see anything who's like no, I didn't I did not see that. Thank God. I already blacked out.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, um, and you you're you're you're a rock star, so you're you're shredding on a guitar, and then at some point you start playing the drums. I'm like, yo, this man is obviously insanely talented. I think because your talent is so overwhelming, it could, I don't think it comes off like a gimmick. I think you're really showing people there's levels to the shit. But maybe you don't have to rely on it so much. You know, make people really not work for your talent, but just you know, it's just like, oh, oh, by the way, if you didn't know. I I do this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it just was giving talent show energy and not in a good way.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, I can't wait to see your progression because I'm I'm definitely coming to another concert for sure. Yeah. Or working with you.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe without me, but anyway.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's what it is.

SPEAKER_02

Um, but yeah, I I I'd like the concert, and then we had to get up out of there. I I said was in the air. That's that hawk. And we learn that. Hey, if you be in Chicago, no, we didn't learn that.

SPEAKER_00

You learned that. My dad has always said that. It's it is a known thing. The black community, we know what that means.

SPEAKER_02

I am British, so that's something that I learned just recently.

SPEAKER_00

Learned recently.

SPEAKER_02

That's that hawk.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. You're nuts. Absolutely nuts. But yeah, we had a great time. We 12 out of 10 really enjoyed it. We didn't get to do a lot of, we didn't do like a many outdoor activities. We didn't go ice skating. We didn't sightsee that many places. Speaking of, I actually need to secure those other photos like at the bean from you because I still haven't posted about it. Uh I'm the worst at posting anything, but I think it's time I start doing trying my hand at TikTok.

SPEAKER_02

So Yeah, come on now.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Anyway, I'll attempt to do what I can. But uh yeah, we'll be back. I don't know. We don't have another trip planned for Chicago. Um, but I mean, yeah, am I in our two to three year plan? I think that's the vibe for for us to get back there to live there permanently.

SPEAKER_02

I'd be nice. Who knows?

SPEAKER_00

Um Alright, you said you have some topics that you want to discuss.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that this uh I did see a bit of controversy on the social medias. Um there was this topic of, I mean, it was a it was a it was a topic that happened a long time ago, but then it kind of re-engaged. But there's the premise that there's some people that feel that men only date women for other men's approval or benefit or validation.

SPEAKER_00

That's what you did.

SPEAKER_02

You think so? No, let's let's talk about it.

SPEAKER_00

It was just supposed to be clickbait.

SPEAKER_02

Don't lie to these people, don't lie. Um, to which there's other people that said, hey, um, I'm on the opposite side of things. I date people that I think only women will think are is insanely attractive. And I'm like, okay, I understand that mindset, but then it kind of snowboard snowballed into um only wanted to date attractive people and non-attractive like it was just a whole thing, it's just unnecessary bullshit. But if you could maybe not for us, but I would like to pick your brain about this. When you decided to date me, do you think it was the first night? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. When you decided to date me, do you do you have in mind what did your homegirls would think? Or your homeboys?

SPEAKER_00

I'm a Capricorn, I don't care about anyone's opinions besides my parents and you.

SPEAKER_02

Shout out, clip that.

SPEAKER_00

I could care less. I also because it's about to be Capricorn season, which starts off the year. I never thought about this, but we're just so good to gotta start the year off for you guys. You're welcome. We don't care. I don't care.

SPEAKER_02

We do not care.

SPEAKER_00

I what I do, I do for me.

SPEAKER_02

Respect.

SPEAKER_00

And those I love. Everyone else heard my father's uh phrases growing up. Two options kick rocks. Or the other one's a little bit more egregious, I won't say on the on camera.

SPEAKER_02

I can't wait to hear what the other one is. Um I'll tell you after that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's something that his friend, oh, you know, Trey. Yeah, it's something that he says.

SPEAKER_02

Bet. Um me, yeah. I've never been one of those types of guys that's like in a group chat with a whole bunch of fellas. I'm like, oh look, this is who I'm dating. What y'all think? You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Guys really do that, huh?

SPEAKER_02

I I I just found on social media that's what they do. Like what they will have a group chat. They'll have a group chat, and it'd be like, yo, this is a girl I'm dating. What y'all think? If one of them is like, oh, that one's chopped, or like, nah, that ain't it, they'll the guy would be like, yo, you bugging.

SPEAKER_00

Like, what if they're like, oh, I already hit that won't happen. You like automatically have to exit the chat.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe not exit the chat, but maybe leave that one alone. Yeah. Leave that one alone.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe. Yeah, no, I just I don't know. Like, I mean, of course, I was I'm proud to be married to you. I was proud to date you. Like, you're a catch.

SPEAKER_02

Likewise.

SPEAKER_00

You're beautiful, you're smart, yes, you are, you're comedic. Yes, you are, you're charming. Yes, you are, you're British. I know you are faint. Uh, I almost passed out. I did blackout. Uh, so I was always proud to share about who you were, and like, you know, people are like, oh my god, he's so attractive. Oh, he does circles. I mean he can like that. Must mean like the bedroom. I'm like, okay, you guys That's what they were saying? Yeah, they like thought you were like uh like an acrobatic or something, and like, or like, oh, you're flexible, so like I know what's going on behind closed doors. I'm like, okay, first of all, flexible.

SPEAKER_02

You're more flexible than me.

SPEAKER_00

You are so inappropriate. Yeah, so so inappropriate. Um, did I ever tell you this before? I never did, huh? Yeah. Uh and I'm like, okay, first of all, I don't talk about my behind closed doors activities with anybody. Um, and it's actually not you, hoes. And uh yeah, I was always proud of you. I'm always I always am proud of you, but I'm never gonna allow someone else's perception of you to dictate um why whether or not I engage in with you or not.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'd like to think I kept a pretty small um not not digital footprint, but you know, I wasn't really out here, out here in these streets.

SPEAKER_00

What do you mean small digital footprint?

SPEAKER_02

Like, for example, it if if I was prominent on social media that you would look at my socials and be like, oh, this is who this person is. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

No, but I was uh peeping your Instagram.

SPEAKER_02

See, I would I was watching.

SPEAKER_00

I see I would have apparently you knew that because you posed thirst traps when you were in New York City with your abs out in front of like the skyline.

SPEAKER_02

I think I was just copying what other people did and it wasn't necessarily I I I don't see myself as a thirst trapper.

SPEAKER_00

I want you to be.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, maybe I get my way up and then I could do that.

SPEAKER_00

It's not about your weight. It's not about your weight. You have your perfect weight and size. Thanks.

SPEAKER_02

Um, yeah, I I think for me, I've always been proud of you, so proud of you that it's like I wasn't hiding you from the world, I was hiding the world from you, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

And this is why Drake was part of your top artist on Spotify, even though you try to fight me.

SPEAKER_02

I still don't think that's like he didn't come up with anything in the five.

SPEAKER_00

He lives on.

SPEAKER_02

Anywho, um yeah, for you, I I already knew that was different, put like I'm kind of different from a lot of people as it is already. What people tend to be interested in, I don't necessarily resonate with, so I kind of move by my own like rules and what I think is like dope and whatnot. Um so just look, I I mean, you don't need no validation, just look at you. Tyler Cray co-signs you, Lucky Day co-signs you. If Leon Thomas had an opportunity, he would co-sign you.

SPEAKER_00

I don't need any co-signers, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But what I'm saying is like you're fantastic and perfect.

SPEAKER_00

You got the mortgage baby.

SPEAKER_02

The mortgage baby. Oh, I have the mortgage.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, if they're co-signing me, that means like it's like for a lease. I don't need anybody to co-sign for me.

SPEAKER_02

I'm in like a different headspace. I have mortgage, lease, finance, f a conventional?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, can you tell we're gonna go look at a house today? LOL.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, anyway, yeah, no. If people are still caring about what other people think about who they're dating, they need therapy in Jesus.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Well, speaking of caring about who other people are dating, another one bites the dust. Ace and Shelly broke up. How do you think? Was it ever real? You see, and this is this is why I I get a little bit apprehensive when it comes to under the circumstances and the guise of putting your relationship out there. Granted, they met on a reality day and TV show. Are we to believe that all of all relationships in reality TV are genuine? Some more than others, perhaps, maybe. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I why they break up and also who announced it?

SPEAKER_02

Shelly announced it on a podcast with two other people, and that they asked, and they were like, wait, did you let people know this? And she was like, No, she's like, Oh my god, I'm so sorry. She's like, No, it's okay. Now people are back.

SPEAKER_00

Is Ace gonna drop a track or what?

SPEAKER_02

All I know is that people are going back to yeah, we hate ace, we always hate Ace. This that and the third Ace is a villain.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, look, I we love Ace. I do I honestly really do enjoy Ace.

SPEAKER_02

All I'm saying is this. Me, I personally, when I was maybe I was in on a different world and watching a different show, but Ace was trying to fight for Shelly's companionship versus what's his name? Austin. That's his name, yeah. Shelly.

SPEAKER_00

Also, respectfully, like Austin is hideous. But I what I'm and she and and dumb.

SPEAKER_02

She can date whoever she wants to date. I don't know in what in what was the context behind them breaking up, but the fact that they didn't get on, like they're still not together. I'm like, hey, it was already shaky ground. If you can't see that Ace was a better option for you than us and you couldn't decide, I'm like, hey, look, maybe that thing wasn't actually meant to last long.

SPEAKER_00

Listen, they got their money, that's what it's about. Get your bread, have a fake relationship, have a real relationship. I don't even care. Nickelandria still going strong to everyone's dismay. I'm rooting for them.

SPEAKER_02

I'm rooting for I'm rooting for love. You know what I mean? I'm rooting for great companionship, reciprocity. I'm rooting for all of that, especially if it's a healthy relationship. But other than that, I just don't care about your relationship like that. But I just want to, you know, because you also said the love, the love is blind couple that got married. They had kids. They had one kid, they had one kid, and then they broke up also. Kwame, I'm looking at you next, bro. I'm hoping that you hold on.

SPEAKER_00

Kwame's Kwame has been posting about his hair experience, his hair journey. He got his hairline back. He said he's feeling better than never.

SPEAKER_02

But is he still with Yeah, Chelsea?

SPEAKER_00

They're still together.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, I'm I'm ruining for y'all.

SPEAKER_00

She's still getting she got pink hair. She's still, they're still the same. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

If I'm not I'm hoping that you don't, but if you do end up breaking up, I'm not gonna say the whole thing was a facade, but not for this long, no.

SPEAKER_00

And Love is mine's a very different show than Love Island.

SPEAKER_02

Still reality television.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it is, but it's a different, it's different. You're not like sucking at everyone's face and like and like humping people in a challenge and like licking shit off of people's like packages. Like it's different. That's different. It's an oversexualized show versus a show that's supposed to be prioritizing like finding love for the right reasons, different vibe of the show, different people on the show, different attractive attractiveness levels on the show. Overall, different. When does Love Island start? Like, when is the next season?

SPEAKER_02

I have no idea, but you think are you gonna be watching?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, I'm kind of into it now. Here's what I needed here's what I needed you to know is my life as a Capcorn woman is very regimented. I am type A, I work, I like to work, I find purpose in work. So when I can watch shit on TV that is unlike me, I enjoy it. Shout out, keeps me relevant with my team, I can talk to my friends about it. You might be in invested in watching it. TikTok then keeps me involved in it, you know? Yeah, your face is just looking like disgust.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's not even disgust because I'm thinking, yeah, I'm so opposite. Because even though I am a Virgo ascendant Scorpio, you know what I mean? I'm I'm an artist, type B personality. When I see wild shit going on, Sag the moon, right? When I see things going on with other people's relationships and it's wild and drama, I'm like, keep that shit away from me. My life, my life is a scary movie. I wrote and produced it.

SPEAKER_00

Really?

SPEAKER_02

No, I'm it's a bar. But what I'm saying though is like I as much normalcy as I can get from external things because my life is already as wild as it can be. Let's keep that going.

SPEAKER_01

I think maybe that's why we we work so well together.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, definitely. We are in tune with one another. So okay, we got next week. We'll be back. The week after, though, I think that's Christmas week, so it might be a weird time. I don't know what day it falls on this year. So anyway, uh the end of the year will be weird for us, and then the beginning of next year will be a little bit weird for us in terms of like when we record and timing, but we will show up and give people what they want when they're here.

SPEAKER_02

Um yes, we will always remain consistent. We are here for you. You, you, you, you yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And in the new year, you'll want to stick around because we have a really cool new uh exciting announcement. We've been kind of like prefacing it, but in the new year we're announcing it. Um, and so we would want to be able to share it with you too.

SPEAKER_02

It is the holiday season. You can't see it, but the the Christmas tree is up.

SPEAKER_00

But not turned on.

SPEAKER_02

It's fine.

SPEAKER_00

Um we got There's no presents because we're not giving presents this year. You better not give me a fucking present. Blair.

SPEAKER_02

We have the same present. Blair! We are gonna be here for you. Hello, and we cannot wait to share all this great things. It's great because I'm gonna mute that all of that. Um the new year is upon us, but we are here for you. We've got a lot of exciting things to share with you, and we want you to keep tuning in. Remember, please like, comment, subscribe, tell your friends. Do you know what? 'Tis the season of giving. Go ahead and give them this podcast. Okay, as always, baby.

SPEAKER_00

As always, it's been a pleasure and a joy. Yes. Happy Sunday.

SPEAKER_02

Happy Sunday.

SPEAKER_00

I love you. I love you. Let's have a great week. Let's do it. Bye. Bye. See ya.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.
