Has the audio been sounding bad?
SPEAKER_02Nice, but sounded great.
SPEAKER_00Right, so then I don't know why you're trying to like pocket watch me with microphone. This is the same shit that you did when you first started the podcast. Back, you're like, babe, your neck is going to be crooked if you keep leaning like that. It's like me when I fall asleep on the couch. Last night I thought I was paralyzed. Anyway, that was it. Alright. What's up? Hey.
SPEAKER_02Baby.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's the new yeah.
SPEAKER_00I know you got these really cool things.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I figured we could uh be a little bit festive. You want the glasses or you want the hat?
SPEAKER_00I don't want that.
SPEAKER_02She don't want none of this shit.
SPEAKER_00I wanna blow into that. Don't use your teeth. Ew! Also, in this, he got like some fireworks or something. Oh god, that's so cute. Give me one. I want the silver one.
SPEAKER_02Is mine silver? I need to check.
SPEAKER_00Yours is gold.
SPEAKER_02Good. Rose. Golden.
SPEAKER_00This is better for my outfit.
SPEAKER_02I like it. So you don't want the glasses.
SPEAKER_00No, I don't want that.
SPEAKER_02I think I'm gonna.
SPEAKER_00I'm also gonna look bold because you can't see my bun now.
SPEAKER_02No, you look you look cute.
SPEAKER_00If I look back at this footage and I'm scared. I'm dead. I've never worn these things before.
SPEAKER_03Five, four, three. Wait, wait, wait, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold up.
SPEAKER_00Did you know we didn't Oh my god, you ruined it.
SPEAKER_02It's fine.
SPEAKER_00Babe. This is so chaotic.
SPEAKER_02Three. Wait, no, how do we go? Five, four, three, two, one.
SPEAKER_00Happy New Year! Oh, yours is faulty. No, I think it's it's not like okay. You want to try mine?
unknownNo, it's not.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we have another one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we we got a couple things. Baby!
SPEAKER_00This is a lot.
SPEAKER_02Happy New Year!
SPEAKER_00Happy New Year.
SPEAKER_02You worry too much about things. You're like, make a place clean.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm like this. Put this away.
SPEAKER_02Happy New Year, sweetheart.
SPEAKER_00Happy New Year.
SPEAKER_02Um, before we talk about the new year, let's talk about 2025.
SPEAKER_01Did you like that? You didn't say anything about that.
SPEAKER_02Just adding a wild. Have you felt about the um 25 2025? Have you felt?
SPEAKER_00It felt like a blur if I'm being honest. I mean, it started off really terrible. Did it?
SPEAKER_02Because you was that the year that you were sick? No, that's 2023.
SPEAKER_00What did we do last year if we remember? Oh, we were in New York. No, so it started off really great. What I meant to say is it's an election year, so it didn't it it wasn't great. Wait. When did he get elected? I don't even remember. This is the problem. I was still at my other store. So yeah. So this year it was like kind of like a somber year because he got elected in 2024. And then we started the year off. So it was just like it was just like a sad, solemn start to the year. Um, but we were in New York for my birthday, which is really fun. Last year of my 20s has been 2025.
SPEAKER_03Uh 30, 30.
SPEAKER_0030, 30. And um, yeah, we did a lot of fun stuff this year. I think we I don't know, we s I don't I don't even know where to begin or where to end. Like the year just felt really fast because I left my store in February, started a new store in May, so it was like the preparation date to the new store, opened a new store. Um just running around so busy. Trips to California. Um I literally where else did we go?
SPEAKER_02We went to Houston, Line of Vegas. We was all around the globe.
SPEAKER_00Did we travel a lot this year? I feel like.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we went to we went to Minnesota and that was a whole oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00See, I don't even know what happened this year. Yeah, we needed like a I need one of those like um like wraps, but like a slideshow, yeah. Like how you knew that this is a slideshow. Um yeah, and we get to start the new year off traveling again, which we're excited about. Uh, how was 2025 for you?
SPEAKER_02As I look back to see the trauma. There's trauma? No, do you know what? 2025 was a spectacular year. I think this year, well, that 2025, it was so intentional. I think I I don't want to say I found purpose, but I really was like trying to be very intentional about the things I was doing, being much more present. Um we jumped back into this podcast. You know what I mean? Um started to make incremental changes, making things better. I had these these projects that I'm working on that I'm like, hey, for 2026, I I set up enough mental fortitude and groundwork in order to make sure it comes into fruit fruition. Um did therapy. Yeah, I mean only I mean just like the loss, yeah, but while uh the last couple months, but what I would say is I I feel mentally sound compared to um a lot of growth, a lot of ups and downs, but constant thry is having the support of you, um and just overall grateful, like it's been fantastic. But speaking about this podcast, I didn't even get to tell you, but we reached a milestone. What we have 500 downloads of our podcast. No way, yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's so exciting! I'm really mad. I got hey, yay, yeah, $500. That's so cool, and great job.
SPEAKER_02I that's that's because of you, baby.
SPEAKER_00No, it's really not. I mean, let's be real. I just learned how to set this up and open up the tripods and extend them. That's about as far as I've got.
SPEAKER_02So you you add a lot of value to this podcast, you add a lot of structure. Um, it comes back to that intentionality. Um, I I love that whenever I talk to anyone about the podcast, they talk about you and they're like, Yo, I love your wife, she's just so funny, she's she's so intelligent, this, that, and the third. And I'm like, yeah, honestly, we do this just to highlight you.
SPEAKER_00Oh, thanks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, baby, you're you're fantastic. That's you, but I appreciate you, and um, yeah, so 500 500 downloads, and I'm pretty sure that's people that just press play.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and that's cool. I I that's great. It's uh the more the merrier, you know.
SPEAKER_02I love when people ask about the podcast, they're like, hey, are you are you gonna have any guests anytime soon?
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah, starting in the new year, we will have guests.
SPEAKER_02This new oh my gosh, 2026 for this podcast. We're about to take it to a whole nother level. Talk to me. When people think about guests for this podcast, who do you have in mind? Do you have any any particular guests that you'd love to see?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, of course, my parents. Uh we're I mean, honestly, anybody who is a part of our circle who is in a relationship or marriage, I think having their perspectives is great, and it should it can be a fruitful conversation depending upon like what angle we take it. Sure. So I'm just excited to get some different voices on the podcast this year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So I was thinking Michelle and Barack.
SPEAKER_00Right, right, yes.
SPEAKER_02I was thinking Stulin, Kate Brown, and Ryan.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Yeah. Wow, shout out to you.
SPEAKER_02Uh I actually missed our podcast.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna start listening to it again.
SPEAKER_02Uh Cadeen and Deval.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02We know you got your podcast. Hey, hey, look, I'm just letting you know. We we're just trying to make this thing happen. Um, you don't know about these people, but I've been I've been seeing a couple clips here and there. Um Belief in Familyhood, like they have a great podcast going on. It's very it's just like we we need to we need to haul something. Yeah, it's just good vibes, and to be honest, like who we are, I I think we're no shade, no tea to anybody else, but we're like young-ish, you know, and I think we're at a different stage in our life where we can relate to other people as far as where they're at in their lives and just traversing life in and of itself, we could kind of be like big bro, big sis, even though some of y'all think I'm unk. I'm not unk. I'm big bro.
SPEAKER_00I'm definitely not an auntie either. I'm still in my 20s for a couple more days.
SPEAKER_02Um, but yeah, I and especially like people in our community. I would love to mukta. You gonna have to come on this podcast. You know, we were chuffing up about you earlier.
SPEAKER_00Bring all of your energy, Mukhtar.
SPEAKER_02I would I would love to see um you know who I'd love to see?
SPEAKER_00Who?
SPEAKER_02I would love to see kid. I'd love to see kid and his missus.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, if we can ever get kid out of the house, yeah, or around our area. Kid, I'm talking directly to you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, come on, come outside.
SPEAKER_00This year I'm about smoke. I don't know if you can tell, but in 2026, I'm gonna call people out.
SPEAKER_02With love. With love.
SPEAKER_00Oh, only with love and respect.
SPEAKER_02Um, yeah, there's just uh a litany of people. Um, if you ever want to come into the podcast, feel free to comment in the section below. Say you would like to come into this podcast. We we want to talk with everyone, it's just about existing, us being ourselves, and giving ourselves a platform to just be. I think if everyone's getting paid off as just being themselves, why not you?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, precisely.
SPEAKER_02Speaking of um living life and being ourselves and our journey and everything like that.
SPEAKER_01I think uh you over the top in that thing, or what's you doing?
SPEAKER_02It's about time we uh if my calculations are correct, yeah, by the time people hear this podcast, they'll finally know our announcement.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, what is it?
SPEAKER_02I ladies first, of course.
SPEAKER_01Uh I think you should announce it.
SPEAKER_03Really? Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Why is yours so bad?
SPEAKER_03Baby!
SPEAKER_00We're having a baby, yeah.
SPEAKER_03A whole ass baby!
SPEAKER_00It is in here. Now we can stop getting called out for me wearing oversized big jackets.
SPEAKER_02Oh, uh we told a couple people, and they were like, we look at Khalia wearing them big-oss jackets and sweaters. I know it ain't that cold in that apartment.
SPEAKER_00It is cold in here, okay? And uh, you can kind of see there's something in there.
SPEAKER_02I'm getting emotional.
SPEAKER_00Blair's gonna cry on the podcast. No, I'm just kidding. And we're gonna zoom into his eyes. Dad's crying in 2026. If they haven't already, no, I'm just kidding. Um, also, you have one tiny sparkle right on your nose. It's so cute. Okay. You got it off. Uh yeah, we are pregnant, and I'm really happy that you said we. Blair's been doing this thing where he's like having some like disassociation, I think, by saying I am pregnant. I'm like, no, yes, I'm having I am carrying this. However, we are pregnant because we are having a baby.
SPEAKER_02I I think is you say dissociation, but think about it. I'm I've been drinking my flat tummy tea. You know, I mean, I I don't feel any changes. You're looking beautiful, by the way.
SPEAKER_00When I look down, sometimes like I look like I feel like I'm the Grinch. You know, and the kid is little belly and he's trying to getting ready for his going down to the Hooville celebration.
SPEAKER_02Baby, I I think you look absolutely gorgeous. I I've always said you look gorgeous, but now you know when people are like, you got that glow, yeah. You're glowing and all of that. You've always had that, but lately I've just been like not for the podcast.
SPEAKER_03I don't give a damn.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, clearly. Uh but yeah, we're due in May, so we're really excited about that. And we're hoping um for a Gemini. Uh, my mom is a Gemini, and she is surrounded with Capricorns, me being one of them, and my dad. So uh we're excited to potentially add one to her team. Um, but we don't know, we it could be a tourist, we're not sure.
SPEAKER_02Whatever the child comes out as it'll be great. Ten thing is ten toes, all their faculties, they're being loved by the community, great mom, great dad, yeah. Back to that dissociation thing. Yeah, I I I'm looking at you. Well, we're going through this journey, but I'm looking at you, I'm like, yo, you must be feeling wild. But you haven't been sick. Nope. Haven't been having any kind of cravings. I haven't been seeing you taking like anchovies and then putting hot sauce and then sprinkling like yeah, I'm I haven't been seeing any of that. I'm like, you sure you're pregnant?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I've had a really easy pregnancy, and I'm so grateful. Uh, I think there's so many things about this journey that have been such, and I'd hate to be like, have been a blessing, but they have been. One of which is like we didn't Blair when we first started talking about having kids was like when people said that they're trying to get pregnant, like you don't try. I'm like, well, technically yes, because like there's ovulation windows, and so we kind of had like this discussion around when do you attempt to get pregnant or try? How is that like coinciding with when you're ovulating? But we attempted to be pregnant and we were pregnant very quickly after the attempt.
SPEAKER_02You know what I did. I went like this.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Pregnant. I went like this.
SPEAKER_00You looked at me and I was pregnant, basically.
SPEAKER_02Did the wink. Don't get don't worry, you won't get pregnant, but I went like this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And she got pregnant.
SPEAKER_00I did. That's how it happened.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00Uh so yeah, we were really lucky that we got pregnant really quickly. And I've been really lucky that I haven't and like grateful that I haven't been sick, that I haven't had any sort of like crazy cravings, um, no complications, no, like literally, I've just felt tired at times, but other than that, completely normal. I've been able to do everything normally.
SPEAKER_04So you love that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm really grateful because it's not every woman's experience, and so I don't want to be like, I'm fine.
SPEAKER_02I feel great when people I know have every birthing person's experience.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, thank you. Thanks for calling out every birthing person's experience, yes.
SPEAKER_02Even still, um, yeah, it's I'm trying my best, trying my best not to get emotional. It's so hard not to get emotional.
SPEAKER_01I know.
SPEAKER_02I've been doing so well. So I'm just gonna say disclaimer, trick a warning. If you don't like to see black men cry, you might want to just listen to our voice. See you for my voice, if my voice, baby. It's I I didn't realize how emotional I'd be getting.
SPEAKER_00Just wait until the baby comes out. I mean, then it's really then it's over. We're done for. Tears all around. Now you know when my parents are always breaking down and I'm breaking down. Just happens.
SPEAKER_02I love that though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, we've been keeping this a secret for a whole it feels so good.
SPEAKER_00It's gonna feel so good tomorrow once the world can know. I'm like, great, I can I can live my best. I really do want to start posting TikToks, and it's like if we don't announce it, then I can't really be like, come with me on my when I prep for my pregnancy dinner. Like, I can't really say those kinds of things. So I'm excited for that reason. Um and yeah, now we can just enjoy the last I we can enjoy the last few months of pregnancy. Really, we have like five months, four months left. I'm 20 weeks next I'm 20 weeks this Friday. Uh so we've got we've got four months left basically. Damn. Uh four and a half. And uh I I am really happy though that we got to keep the the news and the excitement between us for a while. Like we had our private time, and then we got to share it as we went, and then it's like okay, we got the first five months of our pregnancy, like to keep it very, very central and like with the nuclear nuclear family, and now everyone else will know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um, I wasn't hiding my kid from the wall, I was hiding the world from my kid.
SPEAKER_00Why do you have to always bring in Drake? And now we understand why your top fifth artist of the year is Drake.
SPEAKER_02I I really don't think I was listening to Drake like that. I think it was just on shelf one, and it might come on. Look, um so you're with child.
SPEAKER_00And with child.
SPEAKER_02Take your bets. You think it's gonna be a boy or girl because she don't know.
SPEAKER_00Blair shouldn't have known either, but he accidentally looked at some chromosome chromosomal screening things in cell agender.
SPEAKER_02Just have to make sure, like, what's going on with my baby? I know. They say no news is good news, but I couldn't chance.
SPEAKER_00Now we know. So next time you won't be looking.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Next time. Slow down. Baby. Don't make me wink at you.
SPEAKER_01Good. I'm not scared.
SPEAKER_02Oh twins.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02Um, yeah. Uh, so you're deciding not to know the sex of your baby.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, we were deciding together that we didn't want to know, but Blair now knows. So Blair is the only one that knows out of everyone. So it'll be a surprise to all of us come the birthday of our baby.
SPEAKER_02Maybe I need to explain that. So we went to Chicago, we were having dinner. Yes, I looked at the tests, the test scores, okay? Baby pulse with flying colors. But the problem was we did that test like two months ago. We didn't hear anything from the OBGYN. So I'm thinking there could be a whole litany of problems. I don't know. I went two months. Give me grace. I went two months without finding out. But eventually I said that, yo, pass me the phone. Let me look at the test. She has a test on her phone. She said, Hey, if you look, chances are you're gonna know the gender. I said, I don't care as long as my baby's healthy. I don't God tell Scott that I don't give a damn.
SPEAKER_00What?
SPEAKER_02Y'all know what the reference is. Anywho, I was scrolling through. I'm seeing negative. I think negative is a good negative, it's a positive thing, right? Um, and then I was like, ah, I seen, I seen the I was like, oh, sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, whatever. So yeah, I don't know. We're not gonna find out. Blair knows the next child. Blair will not be looking at any of my test results. I'll give him no access to the results so that he can't know. Uh, but either way, I feel like we're having a boy. Blair's just smiling at me.
SPEAKER_03Um she keeps trying to like trying to throw out things to know boy, go.
SPEAKER_00I don't need to know. I know, and I've been saying this from the very beginning as a boy. So even if I pop out a girl, Blair's like, alright, pop out a girl. Then I'm really surprised, okay? Either way, it'll be such a fun experience. Uh, and I'm looking forward to being in the second trimester. That's why we're traveling to England because it's like now is the time. Count it as our baby moon. We'll take a little trip over to Paris. Who knows?
SPEAKER_03Hi.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we're so close. I just checked it's only a two-hour train ride. We must go.
SPEAKER_03We can do Paris.
SPEAKER_00I know it's dirty, whatever, I don't care. I want to go to Paris. Okay, shoot me later. Um, but yeah, it'll just be a good time when we get back. It's kind of like it's on.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We've got classes, we've got hospital tour, we've got uh baby showers, we're moving, yeah. I mean, like the list goes on and on and on.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, 2026 is so much.
SPEAKER_00So much, but so much good. Uh what I will say though is like I'm just really glad that the registry is done and that the names are picked out. So we don't have to worry about those things because they're completed, everything else we can get done, uh, baby shower dates confirmed and invitation lists. We can all do that on the plane on the way to England. So it's perfect.
SPEAKER_02We are really hitting the ground running 2026.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's on. We have literally from January until the the end of May, well, just us two, that's it. Before we change the dynamics forever.
SPEAKER_02Forever.
SPEAKER_00You scared?
SPEAKER_03I'm not scared.
SPEAKER_00You excited?
SPEAKER_03I'm so excited.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_03But I'm scared also at the same time.
SPEAKER_00Of course, of course. Yeah, we're responsible for a whole ass baby. So, you know.
SPEAKER_03I'm the Packer?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, ain't nobody. Else, so if it comes out looking light, you know it took off from my mama.
SPEAKER_02Shout out, shout out mama. Locke, yeah. Yeah, um, I I I think I'm just I'm so like like I'm telling you, I'm telling you the emotions I can barely speak about my child without feeling emotional. Yeah, it's so wild.
SPEAKER_00It's crazy. Um, but you're doing such a great job, and I'm so excited to see you as a dad in 2026.
SPEAKER_02Blink it away, blink it away, blink it away, blink it away, blink it away. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm so excited to see you as a dad.
SPEAKER_02I'm so excited to see you as a mama, my sugar mama.
SPEAKER_00You're like, honestly, have this baby so you can take your attention off of me and put it onto a kid. Leave me alone.
SPEAKER_02I can't wait to be a rough dad. Not to the baby. I'm just saying, like, the rough and rugged dad. Don't need no one taking care of me. Take care of the kid instead.
SPEAKER_00I'm still gonna watch you like a hawk. Maybe when I have multiple, maybe if I have multiple, I won't be able to watch you as much. But with one, I can definitely watch you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um exciting. Exciting times.
SPEAKER_00How did you oh, where are you going?
SPEAKER_02So I'm just checking time.
SPEAKER_00Um, how did you know that you were that you felt ready for us to have a kid?
SPEAKER_02That's a good question.
SPEAKER_00Thanks.
SPEAKER_02Remember when I asked you, we were kind of a couple months into dating, and I asked you, what do you need from me in order to feel comfortable for having a kid? I don't even know why I asked that. What was I trying to knock you up in the beginning?
SPEAKER_01Basically, I guess.
SPEAKER_02Um, and you said, uh, yeah, I need you to take care of yourself. You don't eat as much, you don't exercise. I said, damn, she's like, How are you gonna take care of us if you don't take care of ourselves?
SPEAKER_00If you don't take care of yourself, true shit I ever did say to you.
SPEAKER_02And that's what made me go, okay, cool. I'm gonna step up, start taking care of myself as much as I could. Yeah, sometimes I don't be eating some days, but you know, I'll be taking care of myself. It's fine. But um, I think I was really ready once I went to your birthday party.
SPEAKER_00Really? Yeah. That's we hadn't even been dating for a year.
SPEAKER_02I know, but once I saw, well, first of all, knowing who you are as a person, I said, if my child has you as a mother, they're gonna be fantastic, they're gonna be good. But then when I saw your community and your family and just how much love and support you had, I said, Oh, my kid is really gonna be protected. That's when I took you outside and I said, I love you.
SPEAKER_00I know I was like, yo, this man's gonna get down on a knee right now.
SPEAKER_02I was ready to propose to you day one. I was ready to propose to you on your birthday. I was ready to propose every single step of the way. Because every like who you are as a person, I damn, don't cry. I have to not cry.
SPEAKER_00Blair is like doing this thing where he won't cry. It's fine, but I'm here, it's safe space. We're actually in our house.
SPEAKER_03We can just like blur your face. Tears on the microphone. Crocodiles. I know that this is absorbent, but I cannot have tears.
SPEAKER_00Like a tissue look. Look.
SPEAKER_02No. Um I fellas. I don't think we all think the same. Um, but there comes a point in time where if you think about maybe having a family, what would that look like? Choosing the right partner is so important. And please don't cry. Please don't cry. Um I gotta look at you.
SPEAKER_01Hey, it's okay.
SPEAKER_02Sweetheart. You are so fantastic as a person that you have no idea. And when I recognize I mean, everybody recognizes that whenever you walk into the room, people stop and stare. Whiplash, rubber-necking, you cause traffic jams. I've seen people run into each other trying to get categories at you.
SPEAKER_00I ran into somebody.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and then you're a whole you're a whole Mac truck. Uming how amazing of a person you are made me want to elevate myself as a person. So I'm like, if you're already like this, I mean, I'm putting my I don't know the framing, but if you're so amazing as a person, and then I can elevate myself to at least be halfway decent and then have the opportunity to excel even more, I'm like, this is just gonna be perfect for our kids generationally. And I think I also realize taking now I'm giving you your praise and bringing it back to me, but I realize that everything I do is gonna be a lesson to our children and having to essentially lead by example. What do I look like having my kids look at me and be like, okay, you're you're you're the blueprint. I have to excel, I have to do right by myself, I have to do right by you, do it right by us, doing right by our family. I have to be my best version of myself. And even though I don't feel like I'm quite there yet outwardly, I feel that internally and that I'm ready for that journey. So by all those measures, I'm like, yeah, I'm ready to be a dad. I I think this is the most serious I've ever been on our podcast. He was serious, he was serious for sure. At what point did you think that you were ready to be a mom?
SPEAKER_00Oh, I mean, think that I was ready and want to be two different things, but I've I like always wanted to be a mom. Like my whole life, I've always wanted to be mom. And I think part of it's because I had a great I had a I have a great mom. Um, but also because like there's something so magical. First of all, the fact that you can like have a like that I can create a baby in my belly is kind of like the craziest thing that I think a human can do. Um, I don't want to like say that, you know, only the coolest people can pr provide the world with children, but I do think it's like a very if you want to do it and you can do it. Um, I do think that being able to like bring life into the world is such a very spiritual experience. Um, and it all really came down to me of like who I was with, more so than like me. I don't want to say that I I was ready to have a baby always, but I do think that that's like one of the things I was put on earth to do. But then I went when I met you, I was like, okay, obviously I gotta convince this dude that like I'm good enough to be his wife and to bear his children. And um, it happened pretty quickly.
SPEAKER_03So, you know, you convinced me on day one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know, but it wasn't really until your birthday that you were like, okay, I'm into this. Let me drop the others and let me be serious. Um, but yeah, I think once I like was able to understand how much you care about others, care about um like being the best version of yourself, um me giving you feedback and like you adapting and like changing. So, like me being like, hey, dude, you're not taking care of yourself. You still don't sometimes, but you've made so many improvements. Um, so I think like just seeing those qualities and then also just thinking, like, hey, what are we waiting for? We can keep waiting for years and years, but like, what is the point? I don't want to be parents that are 85 at our high school graduation, like, you go, honey. Like, I want to be able to like experience if we get to have grandchildren or like be able to travel with our kids and like still have a good time, even if we're older. And so, um, yeah, I mean, I was I've been ready. I didn't think that we would be married this quickly. Um, and so once we got engaged and married, I was like, all right, so when's that baby coming out? You know. So I think two years married is basically it'll be two and a half when we have the baby is like a good amount of time to be married without having a baby and being together for five and a half years. It's a solid amount of time that we've had together.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I I think uh also I'm gonna start sniffling. Very nice. Um yeah, I think when people say you know, you have kids and your life is over and it's all about the kid, and I think that's true for some people. Yeah. Um I think w once people say like any life event, you know, you never are yourself anymore. I think that I I've been myself selfishly for a long time, especially living in Vegas for like 10 plus years.
SPEAKER_00Those are stories for another day.
SPEAKER_02Some of them you will never know. But what I will say though I'll know. What I will I'm no more pillow talking, but what I will say is dating you, being married to you, you elevated my experience as self. So there hasn't been a a lack in that aspect. And I think that when you pop out this beautiful child, I think I'll still feel like more like myself, being that much more present without feeling that I'm losing out on anything. So um, I mean, we say that now, and then the baby pops out, and we're like, yo, never mind, podcast is done. We we don't get to do nothing with our time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't I mean, listen, I it's just like when you get married, people tell you a bunch of things before you get married. And um, I remember like before I moved out here, people were like giving me some advice, and I'm like, I appreciate the advice, you know, and I appreciate the perspective of like other people's experiences, but everyone is such a unique case study, and I'm sure there could be times where we feel like we don't have time for ourselves, or like we don't get to be cuddled up on the couch watching TV for hours and hours or doing whatever we want to do, but we've done that and it just becomes a new normal. And I think the intentionality that you're talking about is important to keep in front of mind. So then as we experience these new things, we can say, hey, this is actually not working, we need to adjust this schedule, or we need to block this time, or as soon as that time happens, we need to, you know, find time together instead of doing tours around the house. Like, we'll we'll determine what the new normal looks like. We had the same exact experience when we moved in together of like, hey, when do you need personal time instead of being like this all the time? Or when do you need to hang out with your friends, so on and so forth. So it's just the same thing with an extra person who can't really use their words added into the mix.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I that's something that I'm I'm so like aware of and want to be able to support and protect, and that is like you having your individual time and you having like a sense of identity, like, yes, you are going to be a mother, but you are still clear, yeah. I mean, and how can I support you in making you feel that way and not like there is no more investment in yourself, and I'm really gonna be on that ass and be like, hey, so what have you done for yourself today? Like, well, I don't have time, I gotta do this, I gotta do that. And I'm like, Yeah, that's fair, but what can I take off your plate so that you can have that special time for yourself? Yeah, because that's so important, you know. Especially like let's let's keep it a whole being. I don't wanna say that because you're the mom, you need more priority than me. I mean, we're both human beings, but let's be real. Like, I want to support you wholeheartedly and make sure that you have all of that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, same.
SPEAKER_02Give give me some fake titties, I'll I'll breastfeed the child. Oh if you can't feed the baby, then don't have the baby.
SPEAKER_00It's called give him a bottle with my milk inside.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna be like this.
SPEAKER_00They'll gonna try to latch on, babe. They're gonna try to latch on.
SPEAKER_02No, no, the ball's hair.
SPEAKER_00You're gonna put it on your nipple?
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna put it right next to the nipple. So like that. And I'll be like, oh.
SPEAKER_00You're crazy.
SPEAKER_02Oh man, we're having a baby. Jeez, geez. Crazy.
SPEAKER_00Just like spacing out. Can't can't think straight. Uh, yeah, so we're excited. We can share more now that we've actually announced it about like what's happening, and I really do want to like keep a log of all of the and like everything that we're experiencing and what we actually need. I just feel like there's so much information online about like get this for your registry, you don't need this for your registry. When babies were only this, like, I need to write it down, and then when we experience the things, because there's literally too much information, or I can't trust these people. It's just random folks on the internet that are giving. Yeah, I'm like, I'll find out for myself and I will share out those things later. So yeah, I'm excited for that.
SPEAKER_02But anywho, it's a beautiful time at um, yeah. Best believe, we're gonna put that baby registry in the link in by. We're gonna plus it anyway. If you want to support this baby, make sure this baby's got food in their mouth and whatnot.
SPEAKER_00Well, what are we on like a commercial for like ASPCA?
SPEAKER_02I'll play it, I'll play it, I'll play it. But not really, though. If you want to thaw something, you know what I mean you want to help out there.
SPEAKER_00Happy, happy to have the support, truly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's nothing like having support by people that can love about you and I can love about you, but I'll take the help also. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Alright, so outside of having a whole ass baby in the new in 2026, what are some other things that you're looking forward to? Either accomplishing in the new year or um prioritizing in the new year, or just like setting your sights on in the new year?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I um we get and grown. I'm turning 33. 33 master number numerology.
SPEAKER_0033? How did we get here?
unknownI don't even know.
SPEAKER_00You're also gonna be 35.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Just kidding.
SPEAKER_02Slow down. Alright. Um, yeah, I um I really wanna be I these goals that I've set out for myself, I want them all accomplished. I don't think that I can go another year without having something accomplished. I need that for myself.
SPEAKER_03But then reason. I need I, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02These personal projects I'm talking about. Uh y'all gonna see me pop out a lot next year, and it's because it needs to be done. I've got a whole child on the way. I need to lead by example here. One thing I really want to focus on is time management, goal setting. Like to tonight we're gonna be doing the vision boards, and I'm gonna be got me a focus planner. I can't wait to actually like use a planner.
SPEAKER_00Parents got you one.
SPEAKER_02Yes, thank you so much, mom and dad.
SPEAKER_00And I have a new one, so we can do it together.
SPEAKER_02I'd love to be really intentional and actually fill those things out. I think that's gonna be great.
SPEAKER_00I I think we can check and verify them together.
SPEAKER_02This one thing you should know about Calia. She loves a good planner, she runs through planners, journals even.
SPEAKER_00Because it's such a great way for you to understand like where your time is going.
SPEAKER_02Real Capricorn shit.
SPEAKER_00And when I don't have anything in my planner, it means I'm not being intentional with my time. I'm just like doing shit. And it's like that's never gonna get you anywhere good.
SPEAKER_02I say I'm an artist. This is how we live. That's not necessarily true. So I want to integrate that part. We want to replace bad habits with new ones, you know. I mean, healthier, better habits. So that's one thing I'm looking forward to. What about you? What are you looking forward to accomplishing?
SPEAKER_00Reading. Okay, so I'm setting a site, I'm setting a goal. I'm gonna say it now. I said 10 earlier. I want to read 12 books this year, one each month. I think that's very doable. Um do children's books count? No, okay, like books for myself.
SPEAKER_03Sure.
SPEAKER_00I'll still read to the baby at night, but I do want to just get back to reading. I've spent too much time, I've watched a lot of TV this year. Too much TV. I do love a murder mystery. I do love uh, you know, trending television. We watched Love Island, 800 hours of TV. That was insane. There's a lot of TV watching. So much TV, my retinas are burning. Uh, but I I do know that there's so much power in reading, and there's so much power in knowledge. Um, and we are someone's parents. So the wisdom and the knowledge that we have, we pass on to our kids. And so I want to make sure that I can showcase a healthy habit, which is reading. Um, because what I know what we do as parents is like what our kid will want to do. And so um, if we want to raise them with no screens, which is the idea, is that then we can show them like what else do we do with our time when we're not looking at screens, and so I need to practice what I preach um and read more books. And I just really enjoy reading books. It's something peaceful and introspective about reading a book, so yeah.
SPEAKER_02You say 12.
SPEAKER_00We're having read one full book since 1999.
SPEAKER_02No, I've read the Harry Potter books fully. Twilight's. When you were how old? I was like 13. Right.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02I read Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn in middle school without being asked to.
SPEAKER_00Actually, you know what? He did read one book this year. Is it this year? No, last year. In July.
SPEAKER_02Oh, uh that book behind you. Very informative.
SPEAKER_00He read one book last year, and it was, and this is the only book I've ever known Blair to read front to back. This is so dusty. Now, this book is by Dr. Boulay Whitelaw III, professor of white people studies. And it's called Think Like a White Man.
SPEAKER_0210 out of 10 recommend.
SPEAKER_00Dark Dry Chuckles on Every Page. A satirical guide to conquering the world while black. Okay. And as we walked through the streets of Chicago for the first time together, he was reading it like this in the middle of the street, so everyone could see what he was reading.
SPEAKER_02Just trolling, just trolling the public. But it is a very funny book. It is very funny.
SPEAKER_00He l he loved this book. Uh so anyway, if you want a good book.
SPEAKER_02Currently, I'm reading um uh I think it's called Mastery by Robert Green. Like I said, I'm just trying to get all my ducks in order. Um, I'm working on this cinematic vlog that coincides with the book, so I will be completing that. Um How to Think Like it's not called How to Think Like Artist, is it?
SPEAKER_00The artist way.
SPEAKER_02The artist way. There we go. The artist's way. Um, I think another third book. I want to read one of these baby books you got going on. Nurture or Who's that by?
SPEAKER_00This is by Erica Cheedy, uh, but you want to read The Birthing Partner.
SPEAKER_02The Birthing Partner.
SPEAKER_00That's like Penny Simkin, which is uh a book to support uh for people that are supporting pregnant people, birthing people, uh throughout pregnancy and the laboring process and postpartum. It's a book that I needed to read for my dual training. So I didn't actually finish it in training, so I'm reading it now. But I do need to get you honestly, it probably just needs to go in your Kindle. I feel like it's easier that way.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, sure. I mean, I think those three books would be great for me, especially for this year. At least that's a baseline.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, but um I'm not a certified doula, but I want to make sure that I could have the knowledge and expertise of a doula to support us.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm not fully certified yet, but you know, if anyone needs a doula and wants me to come to your birth for free, I my services are available. I'd love to support. Uh, I do need to attend two births to be able to finish my certification process.
SPEAKER_02Big man tank.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Hopefully start that business too. That'll be great. That's something that I think about in the new year. My mom and I starting a business together to be do-le-less.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the the the only thing I made my business is what's going on with you and your you and our baby. I need to really switch up. Mind you, also, because I know the gender, I'm I I have to have dissociating language a little bit so I don't mess up and gender the baby.
SPEAKER_00Said, why is dad talking about gendering me?
SPEAKER_02Hey, hey, hey, I'm over here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Beautiful. All right. Anything that you're leaving in 2025.
SPEAKER_02Anything that I'm leaving in 2025. Um dusty behavior.
SPEAKER_00Do you want to elaborate on people? I use that phrase, but it's not a good idea.
SPEAKER_02I know that's why I just I say that because you say that. Um not eating as much. Okay, first of all, I'm gonna be jacked. No more skinny boy, no more bird chest blair and be working out. I'm gonna hit up Dion. I'm gonna help Dion. I'm gonna get rid of that storage locker, and that money that I use for the storage locker, I'm gonna put it towards training. I'm gonna be a beefcake daddy for you and the baby.
SPEAKER_01Great.
SPEAKER_02Uh can't wait. Another thing I'm leaving behind, um, procrastination. Yeah, just all of the things that I'm doing for the new year is because I'm leaving behind those those other things for the bad year. For the bad year. Bad habits last year.
SPEAKER_00Bad yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's horrible. Um Um second guess myself. Like I like I said, I've been doing therapy, and the mind is such a like the mind is a tour, and I gotta make it the sharpest thing ever and make it really intentional. I think that's the word of the day, intentionality.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but um yeah, just like dusty behavior overall. And I think the reason why I don't really want to talk about it even though I know we're on this podcast because I've been talking about it for so long, about wanting to do better for myself and whatnot. I really gotta be about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, and I think that you're at a space now where you gotta shit or get out of the pot. I mean, for lack of a better better terms, like it is what it is. Like you can only talk about something for so long before you actually do it, before everyone's like, yo, this guy's a fraud, or this lady's a fraud, you know what I mean? So um, yeah, I'm excited for you. I think it's gonna be a really great year, and uh I'm working on things too, so we can hold one another accountable.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was about to ask, what what do you want to leave behind in 2025?
SPEAKER_00Too much work?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that'll be great. That'd be fantastic.
SPEAKER_00And you got feedback or you did tell me I'm doing better than when I first moved here. Oh my god. Uh I do think that I have been the le so it's double-edged sword. I feel the least involved, inundated, overworked than I ever have before in this role. However, it comes with a catch 22 of like, if I don't ensure that I'm doing more than in the week that I'm working, I feel like I'm always behind. So I do think that like me having a planner and like planning things out for the rest of the year will support me in like, hey, here are some non-negotiable things that you do on Monday or Tuesday, because then that I can go back there and be like, okay, I don't have to stress that I didn't complete this thing on Monday, that's due on Tuesday, and I have to work late at night. Um, so the way that I will overcome not spending so much time on my work is by having more of more structure and strategy around my days. Uh, so that when I do come home at night, it's like I can focus on other things. I do really want to start recording more content and getting my feet wet a bit in content creation. And so it's for that that requires me to have some time on my hands so that I can like learn what I'm doing and also just like start recording myself doing stuff. If I'm just working, that's not really that exciting.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, well, you like I said, you've been doing a fantastic job. You have a you have a great team, you support the culture in order to make sure people like step up for themselves so that you don't have to overcompensate for that, and I think that's only just gonna carry on and get better and better with time. Um so I think that's that's not like a huge feat, but it's something that I would love to see come into fruition because the the public needs to see you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so that's what I'm working on. That's why I'm leaving in the in the uh previous year. Other than that, I feel pretty. I feel good.
SPEAKER_02You look good too.
SPEAKER_00I think see those belly poking out? Mm-hmm. It's gonna come out now. Alright, so this is the last episode of the year. Happy New Year.
SPEAKER_02Happy New Year, sweetheart. Happy New Year.
SPEAKER_00And we won't be back for a while because we'll be in England, unless we decide to post in England, which I'm not gonna confirm nor deny. Uh, but we won't be back on this couch for a couple weeks.
SPEAKER_02Do you know it would be kind of it would be kind of dope to do an episode in England. I'm down. We'll see. We'll see.
SPEAKER_00Maybe we can do one on the train ride to Paris.
SPEAKER_02I imagine.
SPEAKER_00That'd be cool, right? Yeah. I'm sure you could. I don't know logistically how it would work out, but it could be a different format.
SPEAKER_02I'm looking forward to all of it. Okay, um, I think that's it. That's our episode.
SPEAKER_00I love you so much. I'm so excited to be a parent in 2026 with you. And in 2026, we're gonna meet our baby. That's so wild. Yeah, we I can post one of those like Instagram posts like 2026, the year I met you, and it's the baby. Don't make those faces, okay? I'm gonna post that.
SPEAKER_02Corny. You deserve it though. We deserve it. We can be as corny as we want. It's a baby. Like what?
SPEAKER_00I don't care what anyone thinks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um, likewise, I'm so grateful for you. I am so excited for this next year. We are we are turning up. We're gonna I I know we're gonna look back, look at each other, and say, wow, we look rested.
SPEAKER_00Wow, we didn't have bags under our eyes. We look good.
SPEAKER_02We need to look even better, and I know we will.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we definitely will.
SPEAKER_02It might be a little rough in the beginning, but then we'll we'll we'll we'll get back up.
SPEAKER_00Never on never let them see you crack on camera. You know what I mean? Never, never.
SPEAKER_02Um, thank you. Thank you for rocking with us in 2025. Uh, I am rooting for each and every one of you. Thank you so much for your good energy, engaging. Um look, 2026, man. Here we come. Let's just do the damn thing, no.
SPEAKER_00One one one.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes. Come on now. I know you knew about numerology. You're number one.
SPEAKER_00You're number one.
SPEAKER_02Okay, oh wait, wait. One let's do this one last thing.
SPEAKER_03Wait, wait, wait, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_00What is that? What is that?
SPEAKER_03It's a poppers.
SPEAKER_00I don't like that.
SPEAKER_02It's good, it's fine. You just pull it, and then it's like a little streamless thing.
SPEAKER_04Like um.
SPEAKER_02All you do is, I'm guessing you hold this and then you pull it, do it upwards. Okay. Yeah. So we do it.
SPEAKER_00Why is it kind of like wiggly?
SPEAKER_02I have no idea, and I hope I'm saying it right, but I think that's cool.
SPEAKER_00Shaw in the eye.
SPEAKER_02That'd be funny. Just do it away from you. Okay. Here we go. Five, four, three, two, one.
SPEAKER_03Happy New Year! Okay, that didn't work.
SPEAKER_00Wait, hold on. How do you do this? Babe, do you have to like shoot it up? Pull it and pop. I think you have to like shoot, like, you have to pull it and then it has to bring your shake back. No?
SPEAKER_03Okay. Alright. Five, four, three, two, one.
SPEAKER_00Happy new year! Clean this up, not me.
SPEAKER_02I'll clean it up. That's fine. Happy New Year. Happy New Year. I love you.
SPEAKER_00Love you much.
SPEAKER_02Let's do this.
SPEAKER_00Let's do it, Daddy. You like that?
