Okay, so we get invited to this Super Bowl party, and I bring Khalil with me. It's around some of the guys, they invite me to this party, and we get over there and I'm watching a game. Now I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't know that much about football. All I know is that there's two teams, someone's winning, someone's losing. I don't really have a team. Whoever's playing better, I'll root for them. Okay, but I came to see the Super Bowl. It was Rihanna this year, so you know, Bad Girl Riri.

And I'm thinking to myself, why does she know so much about this sport? I felt like the typical um, like I felt like I needed it. I wouldn't be surprised if Khalil was like, hey, babe, can you go ahead and get me a bear out of the fridge or something like that, and I'll make you a sound which I felt like I was on the outskirts of this and you're chopping up with the guys that are like, yes, because you know, this this coach, he's been four for three in his last season. I'm like, what what is happening here?

I'm not gonna go into detail with something. Go ahead and look it up in your own time. But when they say, Oh, I'm having contractions, I'm in labor for 72 hours, what does that actually mean? I thought that they were like being in pain and pushing for 72 hours straight. I'm like, God, I'm sorry, ladies. I'm sorry you have to go through with this. This is a misconception. First and foremost, the baby is in a uterus, right? And when it comes time like for the the motion of like the baby coming out, I don't know if I'm blocking myself, with the baby coming out of the uterus, that the uterus is contracting to help them come out of there. I was like, oh, that's what a contraction is.

And so that that happens over a long period of time, but it's not like excruciating pain. In fact, let me not actually say it's not excruciating pain.

Right. So that happens for a long time. And they advise hey, if you want, you can go to the hospital, but chances are you're just gonna be sitting around and waiting. You should probably just do what you do. Go go home and knit, watch a little uh TV show, you know. I mean, like just do what you want to do because you're still gonna be fine. But then when it gets to active, that's when it's like, okay, now this this baby is getting ready. And you know when they're talking about dilating? So apparently they got a they got a uterus, right? And at the end of that uterus, it's a it's a tiny hole where the baby's supposed to be coming out. Now that's called the cervix. I didn't know this. This is all mind-blowing to me. I'm like, oh, so when they say, oh, oh, she's like two centimeters, six centimeters, or something like that, they're talking about the size of the cervix that's either thinned or started to melt away in order for the baby to come through, right? Now, what I didn't know is when it gets to active, that's when it's like around six centimeters. So that's when it's letting you know the baby's like getting it's it's coming to that time, but then when it gets to the transitionary period, it only lasts for like 30 minutes or so. Intense, intense, intense pain for them. But that's usually when it's like eight centimeters, nine centimeters. That's when it's like, okay, the baby's getting ready to go. Now, apparently, you can get epidural at any time, but when it gets to that point, it's not you can get an epidural, but at the same time, it's like yo, you don't need the epidural. What you need to do is clench down and get ready to deliver this baby.

Yeah, when I was at doula training, they are saying how like the reason why babies turn is because uh to help with the shoulders. So if they just came straight out and they didn't turn their body, because they essentially are gonna come down the canal and they turn, turn, turn, turn, so they come facing down, right? Because their head is molded in a way where the bones can shift so that they can support them coming out. But if they came out straight, that's where like women would tear constantly because the shoulder width is what causes like majority of women to tear um or too big of babies, so instinctually they know to like turn their body sideways so they don't cause too much friction. Isn't that crazy?

And she's like, Oh, yeah, she's looked. And they were like, Okay, so we we get invited to the wedding, and she looked at them like why would I like would you even want to come through? Because when's the last time that we talked? And they were like, Oh, it's you know, been about three, four months, and I'm like, Oh, okay, that's I mean, I didn't know there was a you need to speak to everyone on a monthly basis in order to get married, uh, invited to a wedding or anything like that. But I think the context was more so like because you unfriended me off of Instagram, or you unfollowed me, you took me off your close friends. Why would you even want to be around? And so I think what they were trying to allude to is like, hey, you're in a new relationship, I've never met dude, I don't want there to be any kind of weird like dynamics or like coming off as like a weird way. Um, so it's more of a respect thing. How do you feel about that? Got no words?
