Awakening to Your Soul-Self
Welcome to Awakening to Your Soul-Self! The podcast where the messy, beautiful, fully human experience meets the spiritual.
We are all spiritual beings in human bodies, experiencing human life on earth. And with that comes everything: joy and heartbreak, purpose and confusion, connection and loss, transitions and transformations. It also comes with loud thoughts. So many of them. The anxious ones. The sad ones. The angry ones. The ones that keep us stuck, small, and playing it safe.
But somewhere beneath all of that, beneath the noise, beneath the human experience, beneath it all lives something quieter. Your intuition. Your soul-self. Your angels.
I'm Cristina, a clairaudient Angel Messenger and Angel Reiki Master Teacher — and yes, I actually hear the angels in my own voice. But I'm also just a human, doing the inner work and living the human experience right alongside you.
Each episode, we explore the full journey, the human stories that shape us, the loud thoughts that run the show, the patterns that hold us back, and the intuition and angel guidance that's been there all along. I'll share my own real experiences, bring in therapists, counselors, healers, and beautiful souls who have walked through the fire and found their light, and help you develop your own spiritual gifts so you can hear what your angels and Spirit Team are trying to tell you.
This is the show for anyone navigating the beautiful mess of being human and ready to do the work, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, to come home to themselves.
Grab a cup of tea, get cozy, and let's cross the bridge together.

[00:00] Hello, lovely souls.
Welcome back to the awakening to your soul self podcast.
Last week, I shared my story on the day I realized I could listen to my angels and that I too have gifts.
This is why the show is moving in a more deeper, more honest direction.
So if you haven't listened to the episode yet, go back and start there and everything will kind of make sense of what I'm going to talk to you about today.
And I hope it's going to lay a little bit deeper.
[00:30] So today we're talking to something that I'm kind of really excited about.
I briefly talked about this in the last season about the Inside Out movie.
And I want to keep going with that Inside Out movie and talking about different loud thoughts that we have, all the different noise that we have.
So if you haven't seen Inside Out 2, no worries.
It's a Disney film about this young girl who's experiencing all these emotions.
[01:03] So stay with me for a second.
I know it's about a Disney movie.
Why are you bringing a Disney movie?
I find that the angels recently have been connecting things for me through Disney movies.
I love Disney movies and I think that Disney movies are deeper than just kid movies.
There's messages in there for adults.
And this conversation is going to be about you, about your inner work, about all the loud thoughts that we have inside of us and what they're actually trying to do to protect us and to keep us safe.
[01:38] Remember when I loved Inside Out the first one, and when Inside Out 2 came out, I was like, oh, I have to watch it.
But I just had this knowingness that I had to wait for the right moment to watch it.
And I didn't watch it at the movie theaters.
I don't love going to the movie theaters.
I think it's because I just feel everybody's energy and movie theater is going to be too loud for my ears.
So I kind of waited for the right moment for my angels to be like, right, it's time to watch it.
[02:10] What Pixar and Disney did with this movie is, think, so incredible, but it also speaks to us spiritually inclined selves.
And it kind of gave us a map into the human inner world of our emotions and our thoughts.
I think each emotion in this movie resonates with about everything that this new direction of this podcast has taken us.
So Inside Out 2 is about Riley, who is a growing teenager and has this kind of control panel in her mind.
[02:46] And this control panel is her emotions, these little characters and each one representing a different feeling, different laptop.
So here's what I want you to picture if you haven't seen this movie.
We all have this little control panel in our brain.
And on this control panel, there are a bunch of different characters kind of fighting for the wheel to be the front four emotion.
Some of them have been running the show since we were kids.
[03:18] Some of those show up during hard season in life.
And some of them, the loudest ones have been doing such a good job of protecting us that they forgot that they can step back and say, okay.
But this loud thought and this loud emotion step forward.
It all comes back to being spiritual, being in a human body where we're experiencing human things on this earth.
And part of that experience is having those incredibly busy, loud control panels in our brain, even busy lives.
And the question is, how do we kind of silence all those emotions?
[03:53] And question who is actually running our selves and is the right one.
front supposed to be there.
And here's what I've learned from my own journey.
And from the messages that I received from the angels is that underneath all the noise, all the loud thoughts and the emotions that are kind of fighting in our brain to step forward, there is a quieter presence of our soul self, of our intuition, our angels who aren't pushing to be at the forefront, quietly integrating themselves.
[04:27] So let's go through the characters that are in Inside Out.
first I kind of want to group the thoughts into two sections.
The agomic mind, which is everything that's running from the control panel very loud.
Then we have our soul self, our intuition, which is their quieter section.
And we'll get into our soul selves in just a moment.
[05:00] But let's talk about our louder friends.
Our louder thoughts.
So we have anxiety, which I've talked about in the episode last season, but I'm going to go through it again.
anxiety appears to Riley when she kind of hits puberty.
anxiety is not something bad or evil.
She's really trying to help Riley get through the day.
So he's kind of looking and analyzing every scenario.
[05:30] She's looking out for danger.
She's trying to plan 10 steps ahead.
She's running all these worst case scenarios possible.
Kind of protect and save her.
Does any of that resonate with you?
I'll be honest, I do have anxiety and I totally relate to the anxiety character and thinking about every situation.
I'm very much a planner.
And when I think of things, I always think of the worst case scenario, unfortunately, it's just how my brain works.
[06:02] But what spirit and angels have been teaching me through this movie and with my own inner work, set your anxious thoughts or not your enemy, they're just a part of you that are just trying to keep you safe.
They don't see what they're doing.
The problem is with the anxious thoughts is that they're really loud and they're fast and they're really convincing that they kind of take control of the whole control panel.
They really are so loud that they kind of quiet everything else.
[06:33] So for, as I told you, I do have anxiety and I've always just, I've always had it.
It really grew really loud during COVID and I think it did for many of us.
And once I started to ask for my purpose in 2022, it really widened down because I really could focus on something else and really focus on what is my purpose.
how can I help others instead of focusing on the anxious thoughts and worst case scenarios?
[07:12] And I found recently that the planning of certain things, like planning my videos, for example, planning the podcasts, that gives me anxiety.
I feel like I just don't get the message out that I want correctly.
So the angels have been working with me is don't blame it then.
When you feel like you're in the energy and you're in that high vibrational state and you really feel like you've understood the messages that we're trying to bring through, record it.
[07:55] And with my logical mind, it's like, no, I really should plan it because I can plan out like 30 days out.
And if I'm sick for some reason, it will just already be scheduled.
But that just doesn't work with my anxiety.
And if everybody's anxiety looks different, mine repeats itself, which I think that's why my intuition, my angels repeat itself is to.
kind of over overplaying over the anxieties.
Now mind you, my anxiety has been better since working with my angels.
[08:25] If you're still having these anxious thoughts, please reach out to a professional.
did during my high anxiety points.
It's just good to talk it out to professionals and get professional help because I don't think I would have understood my anxiety and my anxiety thoughts without professional help.
Okay, so the next emotion is sadness, the griever.
So in the original movie, Inside Out, the first one, sadness is the emotion that nobody wants to be around.
[09:00] But Joy, the other emotion, the emotion of Joy, always kept trying to keep her away from the control panel because she was sadness.
But by the end of the film, she really learned that sadness is one of the most important characters, one of the most important emotions and thoughts, because without her, Riley was not able to process loss, couldn't connect with others, and couldn't heal.
And your sad thoughts are the same.
[09:30] They show up for you when something hurt, when you've lost someone, when a chapter has ended, when life just didn't go the way you were hoping for.
In many of us, the thoughts we have taught ourselves to push down the sadness and try to stay positive and just keep trucking forward.
But the sadness really has this message that when we don't listen to it, it just keeps getting louder and louder and louder.
A personal experience that I've had is where I going through my spiritual waking and there was just one day and I just couldn't hear any of my intuition, the angels, loved ones.
[10:14] I just was having an off day.
I remember going upstairs and just crying it out.
just was like, God, why did you show me this gift if I can't do it?
And I'll never forget, I felt Archangel Michael's wings wrapped around me giving me a hug.
I said, Archangel Michael, I know that you're with me, but I'm just very, very sad right now.
And I feel like I'm making this up and I'm not really feeling you.
And I still felt him there, like he didn't go away.
And he just whispered, it's okay to be sad sometimes.
[10:45] It's okay.
I mean, what he's whispering to me right now is... When you go through a sad experience like losing someone, or in my case was... Didn't go the way I hoped.
It's okay.
And it's okay to cry it out.
It's okay to experience the sadness.
Because each of our emotions, each of our thoughts are important in some way, shape or form.
And if you have those sad thoughts and they're not going away, go seek professional help.
I know several people who go seek professional help for their savings.
[11:16] And it's okay.
We are all experiencing different things here on Earth.
We might not understand the why, but sometimes we just need that help.
And our angels are always willing to help, but I also think that they're guiding us to that professional help.
Have you ever went to go see a counselor that just didn't feel right, but then the next one you saw just really aligned and you really felt really comfortable?
That was probably your angels guiding you to that person.
So our next emotion is anger, the boundary setter.
[11:49] Anger really gets a bad reputation because inside out, when anger would try to stand up and talk about what's fair and what's right, he's the one who would say, this isn't right.
We need to fix this.
Our angry thoughts aren't often pointing at something important.
It's a boundary that's been crossed that we need, that maybe boundary or the need hasn't been met and that injustice needs to be served.
The problem isn't with anger and isn't with the message.
[12:22] It's how the anger takes control and completely starts making decisions reactively from a wounded place instead of a grounded one.
So if you've seen the movie, when anger gets angry, he has fire all up his in his head, that's because he's reactively acting.
And I think that there is nothing wrong with the anger, it's how the anger presents itself, steps forward to the control panel.
[12:59] And we need to work with the anger.
So if we feel that anger coming up, or experiencing the anger, we need to, that's why people say, I to start bringing it through.
That's why when people say, walk away, come back to it when you have cooled down.
Because it kinda is just like the anger, it's all fire.
So if you cool down the fire, then you can react appropriately to why you were feeling angry.
So the next emotion is fear.
The one that's really keeping you small and safe and tiny.
[13:32] Fear is a character who is always imagining the worst thing that could happen.
Inside out, the first one, fear's whole job is to keep Riley from getting hurt.
So, fear would always try to keep Riley from trying anything new, not letting her take any risks, not letting her grow.
So, our fear of fail thoughts, which I've had before, is, what if I fail?
What if people judge me?
What if this doesn't work out?
And I think the loudest one is, what if I'm not good enough?
These questions are so convincing because they make you feel like that you aren't good enough and that you need to take a step back.
[14:10] You need to proceed with caution.
But really, these are just old stories that are keeping you small and keeping you safe.
My personal experience with fear intertwines with anxiety.
And when I started feeling these gifts, I said, what if people judge me?
What if I can't bring through these gifts, these messages that these people need to hear?
And thirdly, what if I'm not good enough?
In the past almost four years that I've started this journey, I've been really working with the angels conquer my fears, to conquer my anxieties about this work and say, I'm going to try.
[14:45] And if the messages just doesn't come through, then that might just not be the message that they need to hear today.
But another message will come through.
So it's really important to try to understand these different emotions that come through, these different thoughts.
Because in reality, these are all emotions of your egoic mind trying to keep you small and safe.
And another, the last one that I want to talk about is envy.
And it's often called the comparer.
Envy is the new character in Inside Out 2.
[15:18] And she's so relatable, it kind of hurts my soul a little bit because envy is always looking at what somebody else has.
It's always measuring and calculating and comparing.
Your envious thoughts kind of sound like, why did she have that and I don't?
Why is her life so easy?
Why is everyone else further?
And I'll admit, when I started this work, I kind of compared myself to other healers.
And the angels came through and said, don't compare yourself because where you're on your path, it's probably step 15 or 20 on their path.
[15:53] So don't compare yourself when you're starting out at level one.
And these healers have been doing this for 15, 20 years and are at level 20.
You will get there someday.
You just can't compare yourself.
So I've been working with angels to not contain.
Whenever I have that comparing thought, I just give on this energy to awareness that I acknowledge you, but I'm not going to start comparing myself.
So. The next emotion I see on both ends.
I see on the egoic team, but I also see on the soul-self team.
[16:28] But in Inside Out 2, Joy is really where she's kind of teetering on the stoic mind side.
She's really controlling in this movie.
She's really trying desperately to force Riley to always be happy and positive and only bringing through positive messages.
and kind of push away the things that aren't so happy.
And I just don't feel like that aligns because I don't believe that we're always happy all the time because we are human.
[17:05] We are going to experience the low vibrational thoughts and messages, not messages, low vibrational motions and thoughts.
And why I'm considering Joy to be part of the egoic team is that she kind of bypasses every other real feeling and positivity and happiness was just isn't logical because that is bypassing being a human.
yes, I always try to be always high fives and happy and positive, but that just isn't reality sometimes.
[17:39] And if you watch the first movie... Joy was really coming as soul cell because she wasn't trying to push anything away.
She wanted the best for all of the emotions, all of the thoughts that Riley was having.
So let's switch gears and let's talk about the SoulSelf team, kind of a quieter one.
So the egoic mind, as we talked about, was wild and busy and really had great attentions.
[18:10] but also doesn't really get to do this in a positive, healthy way.
So in Inside Out 2, there was a very beautiful moment towards the end where Riley's sense of self and her core identity kind of buried through all the different emotions of fighting at the control panel, fighting to be that one emotion that was taking control.
There's this point where anxiety takes over the whole control panel, causes a panic attack where it's kind of tornado.
[18:47] And Joy realized in that moment that if she stopped controlling and forcing Riley, stop enforcing anxiety and all the emotions to be at a specific point in a specific time.
She really let Riley's true sense of self come back to the surface.
And seeing the scene where Joy just really understands all the emotions and all the thoughts.
Then all the other emotions followed and understood and let Riley be her true self, her true soul self.
[19:22] And she realizes that it's not about silencing the other emotions, tucking away the bad emotions or the bad memories or thoughts.
It's about letting Riley be her true self, soul self.
And let that come to the surface.
And for me, that's where the angels of the angels really live in that quiet and their stillness energy.
And that is the little whispers under all the loud chaotic thoughts.
So when I hear the angels come through, they always are in my own voice.
[19:55] And I think that's because your intuition is you and your angels are talking to you through your intuition.
It does sound to me a little bit different than my regular thoughts.
It's calmer, it's quieter, but for me it's more coming through near my ear, compared to my thoughts where it's just kind of everywhere.
Everybody experiences their audience in different ways.
That's just how I experience it.
It's very quiet.
It's kind of near my right ear.
Sometimes my ear will be ringing.
[20:25] Kind of indicate like, the angels are with you right now.
So this is what I want for you.
I want you to realize that I don't want you to like push away any of these thoughts, emotions, fears.
Because they are a part of you, you just learn how to acknowledge them and kind of quiet them down enough so you can hear your angels.
So now we're going to take a couple of deep breaths and we're going to talk about how we're going to start telling heart.
our intuition or angels are so self-speaking versus our louder thoughts or busier thoughts.
[21:00] Let's take a deep breath in.
and deep breath out.
Deep breath in.
So now that we kind of grounded ourselves.
Let's think and talk about the differences between our loud thoughts and our soul self intuition thoughts.
I want you to kind of notice the energy.
When you're feeling these loud thoughts that seem really urgent, heavy, anxious, they kind of push and push and they insist.
They may repeat.
For me, they repeat.
For you, they just might be loud.
Well, they might phrase it in a different way.
But you're so self, your intuition, your angels, it tends to feel calmer, blights.
[21:36] Airy.
It never shouts.
Well, for you it might not repeat itself.
For me, if it's insistent that I should be doing, then it will repeat itself.
For me, they don't repeat itself as often as they did in the beginning because they really were trying to show me the difference.
So now it just, it doesn't repeat itself.
However, my anxious thoughts and my fear thoughts will repeat itself.
And he just quietly whispers and just waits to see if you take that action step because we have free will and it's not an interfere with your choices.
[22:13] Also, let's notice on the tiny.
Your loud thoughts are usually allow the past or the present, I mean, past or the future.
For me, it would replay something over, over, and over again, over analyzing something that's already happened.
or it's going to worry about something that would happen, something that's going to happen in the future.
I'm an over thinker, anything that I do, I overthink.
like, all right, if I do it this way, then this will be the outcome.
[22:43] If I do it this way, that's gonna be out the outcome.
I'm working with my angels to just go with the flow.
Past two years, my new year resolution is just go with the flow.
It's the worst that they've been bringing me on January 1st.
Go with the flow.
When your soul self tends to be speaking in the present moment, in the now, is that little nudge that you might be feeling or that impression to go do something.
But remember, free will, you have the choice to do it or not.
Next, let's analyze the tone of. tone of the different.
[23:15] Your loud thoughts are, for me, are usually critical, fearful, comparing, but your soul self, your intuition, your angels, tends to be very neutral, loving.
and for the most part very direct.
They're not trying to scare you or shame you.
They're just showing you what could be.
And I always believe that.
Another way to tell is if it's your angels, your guides, loved ones, intuition, soul, self.
[23:48] loving and positive where our louder thoughts can be kind of negative.
Beautiful, peaking, being critical on yourself.
The practice that I've learned with the angels is not only if I hear it towards my right ear, then it's usually angels.
Even sometimes I'll get thoughts that, you know, go towards my brain.
I just say. Was this human thought?
Or was this something from the angels?
And I ask for the thought to come back and just kind of analyze it.
[24:20] If you don't have time to analyze it, then ask the angels, what do I need to know right now?
What do I need to know about that thought?
And get quiet.
Don't force an answer.
Just notice what comes to you.
You get a feeling.
You see something here.
We're getting a knowingness about something.
And what the angels have really been working with me the past almost four years is be patient with yourself.
You've spent 99% of your life with these lab dogs.
[24:52] And that learning to listen to the quieter thoughts takes practice, takes trust, but it also takes doing the inner work on yourself.
It's part of that journey.
And that is why I think the angels are bringing me to this podcast in this direction.
I said that I've done a lot of my inner work.
with professional help, with my angels help.
that we all can hear what the angels of our intuition communicate with our loved ones.
[25:24] But we all need to do that work on ourselves, our inner child.
So thank you for spending this time with me today.
And I hope next time one of your loud thoughts comes up, anxious ones, the sad ones, the angry ones, or the comparing ones, that you just look at it with a bit more curiosity.
and a little bit less judgment.
And you say, alright, you're not the enemy, you're just trying to protect me, and you're just trying to help me through this life.
But underneath it all, I do have my own intuition and I do have my soul self.
[25:56] And my angels are here, crying to help me as well.
Let's all work together to lower down your volume.
and bring in the spiritual aspect of myself because we are two bodies.
We're just going to learn to tune down the volume.
So if today's episode resonated with you, please hit the follow or share, follow and subscribe button so that you never miss an episode.
Share this with anybody in your life who thinks you might need to hear this.
Someone whose last thoughts might be running the show right now.
[26:29] As always, I am not a medical or professional help.
If your thoughts are very, very loud, seek that help.
And I just want you to know that you are now your loud thoughts.
You are so much more than that.
Remember, you are a spiritual being in a human body, experiencing human life.
Everybody's experiences are different.
Don't compare yourself to why that person is experiencing more quieter voices or that person experiencing lighter voices.
No comparison, no judgment here.
We're just working on ourselves with our angels.
[27:02] And if you need the professional help.
Lovely soul, I hope this resonated with you.
I hope this kind of sparked some intuition in you to realize that it's okay to have these thoughts, that you can seek help.
And if you are looking for professional help, ask your angels to guide you to the right person.
See you soon.
See you next week.
Have a great day, lovely souls.
