Worship and the Call to Disciple | The Mission of Christmas | Week 2
The visit of the Magi is a unique narrative, highlighting individuals from distant lands coming to worship Jesus. This event underscores Jesus' mission to draw all people to Himself, serving as a precursor to the Great Commission. While His ministry began in Judea, it culminated in a call to make disciples of all nations.
This week, we consider how, like the Magi, we can bring our whole selves in worship and embrace our mission to invite those far from God into His light.
Discussion Questions:
1. Can you recall a time when you were "far away" from God?
2. Do you see yourself in this story? In what way? (Or in which character?)
3. How can you set aside time to "bow down and worship" Jesus this month? What does that look like for you?
4. Are there any people in your life who are "far away" from God, whom you could reach out to? Take some time to pray for that person, asking the Holy Spirit what might be the next step for loving them.
