The Unexpected Path to Victory | Victory in Christ | Week 6

C4ChurchHawaii

Our King is built differently. On Palm Sunday, Jesus enters Jerusalem victoriously as its true King. Yet as Easter approaches, Jesus takes a shocking and unexpected path to Victory. His death on the cross certainly looks like defeat, but it was God's planned path of victory: to conquer Sin and Death for us, so that we could be forgiven and redeemed.

Jesus' path to victory remains our own path to victory, as Jesus calls His disciples to take up their own "crosses" to follow Him.

Discussion Questions:
1. Have you ever won a competition, a game, or another competitive event? What did winning cost you?
2. When you think of "Victory," what images come to mind? What does "Victory" look like in your own life?
3. Read Mark 8:31-9:1. What might "denying yourself" and "taking up your cross" look like in your life?
4. Take some time to pray:
- Pray for God's help, through the Holy Spirit, to help you live as Jesus' Disciple
- Pray for loved ones who still need to be "Set Free" from Sin and Death
