Activated and In-powered Witnesses | Activated & Empowered | Week 1
This week we launch our new series Activated and Empowered: A Missional Journey Through the Book of Acts. Pastor Chad unpacks Acts 1:1–11, reminding us that followers of Jesus are Spirit-empowered witnesses. The same Spirit that empowered the early church is alive in us today—charging us with God’s power, breaking the idol of comfort, and sending us into our families, neighborhoods, and the nations as living witnesses of Jesus.
We’re not called to just stand staring at the sky—we’re called to step out, rely on the Spirit, and point people to Christ in every sphere of life.
Discussion Questions:
1. What stood out to you most from Acts 1:1–11 or from this message, and why?
2. Where in your life are you tempted to want control (like the disciples asking about the kingdom) instead of embracing the calling Jesus offers?
3. Witness is not just what we do but who we are. In your everyday life (home, work, friendships), what does your life currently “point to”?
4. Living as Spirit-empowered witnesses often means breaking the idol of comfort. What step of obedience is the Spirit nudging you to take right now that feels risky, but could open the door for God’s power to move through you?
