This week, we’re going to look at how God uses wilderness experiences to shape us and prepare us by looking at the life of King David. What does it mean that God shapes us and prepares us in the wilderness? The wilderness is a spiritual battle and God is bringing us back to an ever-greater reliance on Him. As we survive the wilderness the hope is that we will come out of it with greater wisdom, greater hope, greater perspective, and greater intimacy with God! The power of the Holy Spirit builds resilience in us and leads us to endure and to persevere in the wilderness.

1. If you’re in a wilderness right now, what do you think the Holy Spirit is forming in you to survive the wilderness?
2. When has it been hard to depend on the Lord? Why or why not?
3. Do you feel unseen or unheard or overlooked right now in the wilderness?
