welcome to the ben and bash podcast tag team talk I'm ben, I'm bash. It's time to lace up your boots and hit the mat with the ben and bash podcast tag team talk all right, we're going to do a preview for the first ever raw on netflix.
Speaker 2:It's the end of an era on USA and the beginning of a new era on Netflix. I think they might have changed once before in somewhere in the 2000s to I think it was Spike TV or TNN or something like that. I remember changing once from USA to another show, but they've always been on cable. So this is the first time that Raw is now on cable and since they first debuted in, I think 94, I think it was. So, uh, let's get to it okay.
Speaker 1:So for the first match, it's drew mcintyre versus j uso and for this match, I was very surprised that a match of this type was gonna be on a show, this like big I guess. But like, I feel like this match is just to make the card a little bit bigger. Like the card and the match makes sense. I'm just saying like I feel like if they had a like our four matches anyways, I don't think this match would be on the card. But so, yeah, but this match, I think it's going to be good. I feel like I'm pretty sure it's going to be the opener, because there's just too big of matches on the card for this to not be the opener let's say we want to start opening over the banker.
Speaker 1:Like to do Premier League events because I know what they're about to do. If they do it like that, I know what they're going to do CM Punk vs Seth Rollins. I don't want that.
Speaker 2:That's the main event.
Speaker 1:Tribal Combat. I don't want that.
Speaker 2:They might start with Lil Morgan Real quick, they probably will. Or it could be Tribal Combat. Because it's the first episode, go ahead and start it off early by getting people tuned in.
Speaker 1:You first. You think the Rock's going to be in the opener.
Speaker 2:Why wouldn't he? He wouldn't have come into that.
Speaker 1:That's the only reason the tag team match was on the main event in Babluck because the Rock was coming, of course, either way CM Punk and J-Roc but you got to understand too, though.
Speaker 2:This is the first show on Netflix, Right yeah, so you want to get the eyes on there. So if social media is going crazy, saying the rock's here, the rock's here, everybody's tuning in to Netflix Boom.
Speaker 1:They shouldn't do this because of that.
Speaker 2:That's how the media works, man. You want people to tune in. So you start off with Roman Reigns and Solo and people say, oh, roman Reigns started a match-off. We got to watch it because rock may interfere or he might come out. So now you got people watching who may have been like I'll wait till later on, I don't want to see the beginning of it. You know what I mean. So now you got people tuning in off the top at eight o'clock on the dot because Roman Reigns and Solo started a match off. So maybe they're doing it that way. I don't know. That's what I'm thinking. Maybe they start with a banger and get people tuned in because it's the first episode. You want people to the main thing about a TV show. You want people to tune in and stay tuned in the entire time.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:You know. So that's what it may do, and then start off there, keep it going. John Cena comes out, boom.
Speaker 1:I wonder what John Cena's going to talk about. Oh no, I know what he's going to, you see? No, there is going to be five matches on the card, because you know what I'm going to predict. What's that? Open Challenge?
Speaker 2:John Cena yes.
Speaker 1:A thousand percent. I couldn't be more confident.
Speaker 2:So you think John Cena's going to be there?
Speaker 1:I have a lot of predictions in wrestling but I feel like this is the most confident I could ever be for a prediction he's gonna I'm like 99.9. I'm not gonna even say that amount of nines, but I'm just I'm so confident, I'm so confident I would bet so much money. But I'm not going to. But I'm pretty sure John Cena's gonna do be an open challenge.
Speaker 2:I don't know. I mean to be there. They showed his picture last week. They've been doing his music. He's going to be there. We know that. What is he going to do? This is his last year wrestling. This is his last year. This is his first day of the last year of wrestling.
Speaker 1:You know it would be crazy, but I know this is not going to happen. If he didn't open challenge and Penta came out, I know that's not going to happen.
Speaker 2:That's all I'm going to ask you about.
Speaker 1:I feel like John Cena has to win his first match and Penta has to win his first match Penta is going to be on Raw right.
Speaker 2:I can't remember if it was on Raw or SmackDown oh no it was on Raw.
Speaker 1:I want to say Raw.
Speaker 2:I want to say Raw they showed the picture of the mouth and the mask and all that.
Speaker 1:The mouth. When was that?
Speaker 2:Last week it was like when they showed the outline of it and it showed like the little teeth.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, that.
Speaker 2:So that was on Raw right.
Speaker 1:I think so.
Speaker 2:So that's on Raw. He's going to debut. He's going to debut today. I wonder if they. Well, that's next week. The um, the Xavier Woods, cove Kingston versus Raven Stereo. That's next week, right yeah okay, so maybe they won't debut. I don't.
Speaker 1:I really want. Oh, sorry go ahead. I really don't want them to see Penta like turn, like I don't want.
Speaker 2:I don't want to see a baby face Penta well see, I don't want, I don't want Penta to be joined up with Remy Zero, just like it did Dragon Elite.
Speaker 1:Oh, like with the LW yeah.
Speaker 2:I mean I get through all those doors, but let them be separate you know, like you don't have to put all of them in the same group. Yeah, It'd be like putting everybody from England in the same group together. I mean yeah, you could do that, but why? So you can do Penta by himself? Leave him out of the LWO, Because it seems like every Hispanic wrestler comes in, they put him in the LWO.
Speaker 1:I mean.
Speaker 2:I like the LWO, I remember the original LWO with Eddie Guerrero and them guys, but it's like cool. But Penta has done enough on his own in AEW in Mexico, lucha, underground, all that kind of stuff, to where he can, he can be on his own and you know. Then obviously you know he got his brother coming up next too. I mean Ray Fiend. Once he gets out of his contract with AEW he's gonna be there you know, you know how they could.
Speaker 1:They could have him team with Ray Mysterio and still be heel what's that?
Speaker 2:have him, his brother Bell rings bang Punch to Rey.
Speaker 1:Mysterio done.
Speaker 2:Out of there, but that wouldn't help out Xavier Wilson and Colton Kingston though.
Speaker 1:Who cares?
Speaker 2:It's Penta I mean that's the point. You want Xavier Wilson and Colton Kingston to get booed, so you don't want to take the spotlight off them. They built this whole thing up, with them talking about Big E and all that just for them to get upstaged by a debut in wrestling.
Speaker 1:You don't want them to do that.
Speaker 2:But what I'm saying is you know ray finks is coming. Yeah, will they keep the same name? I don't know if they're gonna keep the same name, penta. I don't think they can do that I mean, I think they can, they should be able to. They can't, I don't know.
Speaker 1:I mean does aw do that same thing as wwe? Uh, jay cargill, well, that was her name before.
Speaker 2:That's her name before aw. Oh so I don't. I don't think AEW owns the right to her name. That's the thing.
Speaker 1:CM, oh, never mind.
Speaker 2:CM Punk. That's his name before WWE yeah. I already knew Before he came to WWE. That was his name in Ring of Honor, so that was his name before he came to WWE originally. Yeah, I think he was one of the first ones I can remember that came to WWE and kept his name. Yeah, this was back in when ECW was a brand wait wait, he's the major on how well I know that, like I actually was a world champion ECW.
Speaker 1:I didn't know that was a world champ.
Speaker 2:I thought I was just a side title from the BW nice it was a used to have a stupid brass for CM Punk debut, though the first my scene CM Punk anyways, outside of Rick Arnaut was in ECW yeah and so he kept the same name. That's how I knew who he was.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I thought the title that Bobby Lashley had was just like a like a like an intercontinental title.
Speaker 2:No, he was ECW world champion.
Speaker 1:I was surprised they'd give it to him, like I thought it was given to, like Rod Van Dam or something like that Well to be.
Speaker 2:We saw it's not ECW's title, no, but he had ECW title already. Though, yeah, when he's the bad ass had their own, their own company, he's W shit, you know. But but yeah, like I said, john Cena, I think he's gonna be there.
Speaker 1:Obviously, what is he gonna do, don't know and also another thing um Travis Scott is debuting a new um theme song, for I think yeah, I'm not sure.
Speaker 2:I don't know if I've even heard the song already. I don't know if it's a new song, I'm not interested in the song. But I'm saying like I don't know if it's a new song or I'm sure it's a new song.
Speaker 1:Why would he just put a random song?
Speaker 2:Well, it could be one of his old songs they're using as the intro.
Speaker 1:I don using that as the intro.
Speaker 2:I don't want that, though, but I don't know that though, so I have no idea. I haven't. I mean, I probably heard it, just knew a travis scott song. So I don't really know if they're gonna do like a new song, like a brand new original song, just for raw, or are they gonna do one of travis scott's already released songs or album songs and make it the intro?
Speaker 1:if they're one of the old ones, I don't even know. I I know like one travis sc Scott song I think it's. Travis Scott. I don't even know who's Travis.
Speaker 2:Scott, you can do like it's like the Premier Live Events. Use people's songs. They don't make songs, just for those Premier Live Events they use people already. They use music from like 20-30 years ago, sometimes Premier Live Events some of those songs from Premier Live Events Ozzy Osbourne, you know Metallica and stuff you know. So they make songs from like way back and they'll re, you know they'll re re-release them or reuse them and make them the theme to Prim Live man.
Speaker 1:I don't see why they would announce that, though cause he's performing. I I mean, I like Travis Scott. He's one of my favorite singers, but I really don't care.
Speaker 2:But see, but this is what I'm saying, but you don't care A lot of people like Travis Scott he's one of the highest. I do like Travis Scott. That's what I'm saying. So don't say you don't care, because a lot of people do, and he's going to probably open up Raw because it's his song.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2:His song is the theme song, so they performing in the beginning, yeah, before anybody comes out, you know. But yeah, I mean I'm kind of curious to see what song he uses. If it's going to be a brand new, I'd rather hear a brand new song from Travis Scott that has something to do with Raw and wrestling. He's a wrestling fan. Yeah, Wait, he is yeah he's been to a lot of wrestling events. I did not know.
Speaker 1:Well, I've seen him at wrestling event, but I thought they were just random celebrities.
Speaker 2:A lot of rappers are wrestling fans. Yeah, a lot of them.
Speaker 1:How is that a common thing in rappers?
Speaker 2:That's just how well. Just a lot of musicians in general, A lot of people you see after wrestling, are actual fans. There are a few who are just there for publicity or whatever, I feel like people like Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 1:You think they're wrestling fans.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Sebastian, like I said, a lot of people who show up are fans.
Speaker 1:I just thought they just pull random celebrities.
Speaker 2:Or their kids are fans, they're taking their kids there. Almost everybody watched wrestling growing up. It's just some people like me stayed and watched it until adulthood.
Speaker 2:A lot of people stopped watching it until their teenage years, for whatever reason. Some of these athletes may do the same thing as he got into adulthood. Yeah, you know a lot of people stop watching it to get to a teenage year for whatever reason, but so some of these athletes may do the same thing Watch it whenever kids stop watching it and they have kids or kids is into it, and then they're back into it.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So, but yeah, whatever the case is, I'm just I'm kind of curious.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's gonna be especially on netflix yeah, but for another match on the actual card, it's live more. Give us rhea ripley for the women's world championship and for this one, I think it's like um, it's of course gonna be a good match. I think something's like it's of course going to be a good match. I think something's going to happen with the Judgment Day today, whether it's like splitting up or just something big for the Judgment Day. But Rhea Ripley, like I feel like she's obvious, unless they're going to like, say this to a Royal Rumble, which I really hope they don't do but I feel like Rhea Ripley's going to win, like that's in my opinion. But I feel like Dominic has to interfere a little bit, right.
Speaker 2:Maybe I mean, and don't we also? I don't know what's gonna happen this match, but I mean I think real rib is gonna win. But at the same time you also have the uh transfer, transfer portal going on right now. So somebody from Smackdown could come, some girl from Smackdown could come over and interfere in the match too, somebody we don't even think about. You know what I mean. Like, I like the thing about the transfer portal right now we don't know who can show up on any show.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I mean, and I don't know if you watched NXT you saw NXT this past week, oh yeah, joe. Hendry was on there. He said he can show up at any time on any show. Yeah so who's saying he's not going to show up on Netflix?
Speaker 1:Okay, he's definitely going to show up. But we Anytime any show, any place, any show. Why would somebody say his name, though? How could Roman Reigns just say oh yeah, there's this guy, joe Hedger?
Speaker 2:Well, no, he can just pop up, because remember, when he made his debut at NXT, nobody said his name.
Speaker 1:That's fair.
Speaker 2:He just showed up, and then they started saying it you sure nobody said Joe's name. I don't remember I mean I can be wrong remember anybody saying his name when the and during the uh battle royal and he just kind of popped up and people were surprised.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, I know, I don't think it's about a rail. People have. People have signs that say his name, and why did everybody dump him out?
Speaker 2:though that was unreasonable because he got the biggest. You always do that to the battle royal. You always have the biggest, the person who could win out first what?
Speaker 1:so that's why they all attack john cena. Yeah, that was heels and babyface. Exactly that's unnecessary.
Speaker 2:You get the biggest threat out first. That way you don't have to worry about it no more. Yeah, if everybody team up, just like Andre and John, anytime you have a Andre and John, a big show, a Omos, anybody like that get up the ring first. Large human being, you get them out first, because the less people in the match, the more of a chance the big guy has.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Because if he comes on a one, good luck trying to get a 400-pound guy out the ring when you're only 200 pounds.
Speaker 1:I could be wrong because I'm very young. If you didn't know, but the reason why they call Andre the Giant Battle Royale Andre the Giant was winning so many of the Battle Royales.
Speaker 2:Pretty much Okay. Yeah, he won. I think he's unofficially won the most Battle Royales in history.
Speaker 1:What do you mean unofficially, if he's done it?
Speaker 2:Well, just like Ric Flair has the most unofficial world championships, we count all his championships. Oh, okay, there will be only 16 of them.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we count all the championships.
Speaker 2:Oh okay, there'll be only 16 of them. But Ric Flair said he has over 30 of them. So in Ric Flair's mind he has a 30-time world champion, but there'll be only 16 of them. It wasn't like a main cup like it is now. There was a difference. So the South had their own, florida had their own, georgia, memphis had theirs, midwest California, people like New York People had their own different territories and they had their own champion. Yeah, but the NWA was kind of recognized by all of them as being the world champion, which?
Speaker 2:is a lot of the ones Ric Flair won before he came to WCW.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Wait, he went to WCW first.
Speaker 2:Yeah, before he came to WCW.
Speaker 1:Oh, I thought he went to.
Speaker 2:WWE and then went to WCW first. Yeah, before he came to WWE. Oh, I thought he went to WWE and then when WCW came, no, he was in NWA first and then NWA ended up getting. Nwa was still around and then TNA came and they got the NWA belts, merged the TNA belts and then NWA went out of business and they came back a few years ago.
Speaker 1:So yeah, so, yeah, like other people from other companies could come like well, like joe, like we were talking about joe hendry, yeah, uh, but in the match interfering, I don't think anybody's gonna interfere from another brand like joe hendry. I feel like those type of people will come, but I don't think that anybody will go in fear in any of the matches besides like people like the rock or like of that type of people.
Speaker 2:Yeah, little Morgan and Maria Ripley. I mean, obviously we know Dom is going to get involved. Uh, I mean we know Daniel Priest is probably going to get involved. Yeah, maybe Finn Balor. I don't know how that dynamic is going right now between him and little Morgan Kind of something. They're kind of a little rocky right now. I mean, you know Raquel's going to probably get involved more than likely. So we know there's going to be some involvement in that match. How far it goes, I don't know that, but we'll see how that one plays out. But that one should be a pretty good match too, though, if they let them wrestle.
Speaker 1:Yeah. But another thing about this show logan paul and I. One thing about logan paul that I'm scared of. It's not anything to do with logan paul. I feel like they're gonna be doing throwing lynch land prime at him. I, him, I'm not going to joke.
Speaker 2:I don't think so.
Speaker 1:There's going to be one person that chucks at Lunchley at the back of his head.
Speaker 2:Here's the business side of Logan Paul.
Speaker 1:What do you mean? Business side?
Speaker 2:If they're throwing Prime and Lunchley at him and all that.
Speaker 1:They have to buy it.
Speaker 2:They have to buy it first, to buy it first. So you still bought it. You can do. You can do whatever you want to after you buy it, but you bought it yeah you've already paid money for it, so it's already in my pocket. Yeah, so you can throw them all all day at me. You're just throwing money back at me. You still bought.
Speaker 2:You still go to a store and buy yeah you still go to go to the gas station or wherever and get the prime I mean. So you still got to go buy it.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Unless you get it for free.
Speaker 1:I don't think you would get it for free, unless you're like a green shirt guy or someone like that.
Speaker 2:Exactly so. If anybody starts doing that, then they've already paid for it, so why let them all get mad at it?
Speaker 1:Yeah, you've already paid for them.
Speaker 2:Mm-hmm, it doesn't hurt him at all. You're actually helping him by it, because you're actually showing him, you're buying his stuff. Yeah, that's fair, I mean, that's how I would feel anyways. You know, if I had my own drink company and somebody would throw my own drink at me, okay, cool, still have a way of doing it. Bought it.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I mean, and if you don't want to hear is nothing, oh yeah, like you want to hear cheers or boos. Like the crowd's silent. If you come out and the crowd is silent, that means you're not reaching them good or bad. It means they're just thinking that would be bothered by you.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So if they're booing you like the Dominic or the New Day, then you're doing something right because they're booing you for a reason. Or if they're cheering you, they're cheering you for a reason. If you're not doing anything, you don't want to come out and you hear nothing. If you come out and you hear people talking, yelling at you, something's not going on the right. They're not connecting in some kind of way.
Speaker 2:Yelling is considered booing. No, I'm saying like If you're coming out, you can hear individual people Yelling at you, like word for word what they're saying to you While you're walking out, but like one time that happened to Roman Reigns and I was surprised, like there was this one lady who was like Well, she was probably Right by the camera, so I don't know if I feel like in a crowd, like yelling. A lot of times you just hear a crowd, it just sounds like people yelling. You can't really make it out.
Speaker 1:A lot of times Like you, can make out a certain individual.
Speaker 2:Exactly, but if the crowd is silent, you can hear a lot more as far as people yelling at you and saying stuff to you.
Speaker 1:I've seen that happen to somebody, but I forgot who it was. It was like somebody who, like, had an insult to them. I forgot. I forgot what it was, but you could like very much hear it. Oh yeah, I'm not sure, but yeah, um, so, uh, for another match, it's um roman rings versus solo sakoa for in tribal combat for the una falla, and um tribal combat for what happened with Jay and Roman last year. That was yeah last year.
Speaker 2:Last year yeah or before.
Speaker 1:Wait, no, yeah, technically the year before now.
Speaker 2:Yeah, 23?.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so technically the year?
Speaker 2:Was it 23? Yeah, it was 23. Okay, wait, is it 2023? I can't remember.
Speaker 1:Wait, summerslam, it was SummerSlam.
Speaker 2:In Nashville Was Brock Lesnar there?
Speaker 1:Brock Lesnar no, he wasn't. No, no, no, he wasn't there. No, yeah, he wasn't there.
Speaker 2:So it wasn't last year. So yeah, it was the 23rd. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, 23. Mm-hmm, yeah, not last year's.
Speaker 1:Right, yeah, last year's.
Speaker 2:SummerSlam or Remains. What are you in there?
Speaker 1:Wait in 24, he wasn't back yet. Was he? No wait, no, he returned it. Yeah, he would turn.
Speaker 2:He returned at this year that at last year's summer sleep okay, so it's some time before that.
Speaker 1:so 23, okay, and um so uh. But yeah, what happened in 2023 with jay uso and roman reigns in tribal combat souls? It was just ended up being a one versus two, and that's not From my understanding of tribal combat. That's not tribal combat, that's just beating somebody up with somebody else. I thought tribal combat was one-on-one. It's supposed to be a death match, but you can't do a death match in actual wrestling.
Speaker 2:So, with that being said, you think it's going to be the same way.
Speaker 1:Somebody interferes or it's gonna be a one-on-one match. I really hope that they don't do that. I hope there's like an actual, because last year, I feel like it was, it was pretty clear-cut who was gonna win, roman reigns gonna retain, yeah, but this year is no. It's for like no type of title, it's just for the una falla it's the tribal chief, the head of the table yeah, I mean that's that's.
Speaker 2:That's enough of a championship for them.
Speaker 1:No, I'm saying it's not for a title that Roman Reigns has, or something like that. I got you. I feel like it could go either way.
Speaker 2:But we know Jimmy Uso's going to probably be there.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Sami Zayn's probably going to be there. We know the Bloodline's going to be there, jacob and all of them.
Speaker 1:I just really hope that this is an actual tribal combat. They haven't let them have tribal combat.
Speaker 2:Do we get a new Bloodline member or just a new Samoan that comes out? We know it's a few of them.
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:You don't get any. Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 1:I personally don't think so. It could go either way, but I just don't see, especially after Survivor Series I don't see why they would pull somebody else out, unless they were looking for five, like they did with Bronson Reed.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't know when Bronson Reed's gone.
Speaker 1:Tonga Lowe's out what even happened to Tonga Lowe?
Speaker 2:Someone with his arm going to match.
Speaker 1:Is uh someone with his arm doing a match? Someone is that when he got wait. Was that tom? Was that tonga tong? Why not tama tanga who got thrown the table?
Speaker 2:I think that was yeah I'm saying, but I think tangaloa got hurt in that match. Something happened with his arm and he tore a muscle or something. How yeah tore a bicep or something. That during that match same with simple last year, roy rumble yeah he tore back his muscles. The back is almost aity, I think. Talk a little toward the, the bicycle. Yeah the front part, the top part right here, and then Bronson Reed I think Brooke is ankle.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so the big deal he's gonna probably be out to WrestleMania at least.
Speaker 1:I don't that does like. That's crazy how three people got injured. That's a dangerous man's right. That's crazy how three people got injured.
Speaker 2:That's a dangerous match. That's a dangerous match, I mean that match is. There's a reason why they didn't do that match for almost 30 years. There's a reason, because that's a dangerous match.
Speaker 1:You think Raw versus SmackDown will ever come back? They kind of did no, yeah, they kind of did Raw no, not as long as they got the WarGames.
Speaker 2:I mean they kind of did. I mean, not as long as they got the war games, I mean they may bring it back eventually, but as long as they got war games it's no need to.
Speaker 1:They could do Raw versus SmackDown war games. That could work.
Speaker 2:They could do Raw versus team, but you have to have a reason for it. War games you have to have a reason for it. That's like a big-time rivalry match.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but I just want to see Nick Aldis' team versus Adam Pearce's team. That's all I want to see. It doesn't have to be a survivor's team, I just want to see that.
Speaker 2:That's all I want to see, but but yeah, so does Tariq get involved in that match? Oh, I mean he's going to be there. He said he's going to be there Sunday night. He posted that he was going to be there.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So does he interfere in this match or does he wait until the end of the match? And I mean, cody, you know everybody's been talking about Roman Reigns versus the Rock.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it was supposed to happen at WrestleMania last year until Cody pulled the whole switcheroo.
Speaker 1:No, not.
Speaker 2:Cody. Well remember, Cody got mad and took his spot back. No, that was the.
Speaker 1:Cody. The Cody Crybabies were what the Rock calls the Cody. Crybabies, they were way before Cody Rose got mad.
Speaker 2:No, it wasn't Remember it was.
Speaker 1:That kickoff show for WrestleMania.
Speaker 2:No, no, no, no no.
Speaker 1:What? No, no, no, no, no, no. That's when he got.
Speaker 2:No, it wasn't. No, it wasn't. It was on SmackDown. Remember when he came out and he said I'm not gonna. We're gonna wrestle, but it's not gonna be at WrestleMania.
Speaker 1:Yeah, no, I know that.
Speaker 2:And he said I had to talk with somebody, and then the Rock's music hit.
Speaker 1:Yeah, someone you know very well.
Speaker 2:Yeah then, boom Rock was hit. That was when Cody Rose a spot up. Then the whole people got mad about it on social media and stuff.
Speaker 1:That was before Cody Rhodes got mad.
Speaker 2:I know they were saying the people online got mad about it right yeah, and started talking about why did Cody Rhodes give a spot up? You know all this stuff. And then on the kickoff show, that's when Roman Reigns and the Rock came out and did the handshake.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And then Cody Rhodes came out and said nah, we ain't doing this.
Speaker 1:And then everybody cheered because they were like alright, and that's how he took the spot back.
Speaker 2:He was a Royal Rumble winner, so he got to choose. That's what he chose. Instead of giving it to the Rock, he chose to take his shot at WrestleMania.
Speaker 1:And one thing I think that I could be wrong. I could be wrong on this, but I think that I could be wrong. I could be wrong on this, but I think the Rock taking Cody Rhodes' spot was either the most disliked video on YouTube or on WWE's account.
Speaker 2:That's what I'm saying. So they've been teasing that for a while now. I mean even the year before that they were teasing the Rock coming back, but the Rock never came back. So this year the Rock's there. Are they going to finally pull a trigger with the rock versus roman reigns? Oh, I think so. I mean so they do that. Are they gonna start to build? They already started up a bad blow and rock came out after the match but what?
Speaker 1:the one, two, three, that wouldn't that make sense for survivor series? No but one, two, three or whatever, I think.
Speaker 2:I think the rock's situation was similar to cody rose. The rock was like me and you talking about Roman. Reigns and the Rock teamed up to beat down Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. We spent a couple of months leading up to this Heck. The Rock beat Cody Rhodes up outside, left him leaking outside. I mean, beat him down Right, right, left the leaking outside in the rain and you go and team up with them. Yeah y'all are all buddy, buddy, and you see my will.
Speaker 1:The guy who beat you for the bill, yeah and yeah, and you team up the guy.
Speaker 2:So, wow, wow, what we doing what we doing here, just like it's, like you know what's like everybody's problem.
Speaker 1:That's almost so. Those problems like what we doing, what are we doing here? It's like Kevin Owens thing. That's everybody's problem.
Speaker 2:That's almost Solo's problem too. What are we doing? Why are you teaming with a guy you spent two years trying to beat? Now you're teaming up with him.
Speaker 1:You know that almost makes Solo look like a good guy facing Roman Reigns, but yeah, but yeah.
Speaker 2:So that's why I think he comes out post-match. Yeah, post-match he probably comes out for sure. He for sure comes out post-match and Bloodline gets interferes. I mean I think Solo's going to win this match.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, no, I want Solo to win, but I don't think he's going to win.
Speaker 2:Because there's rumors talking about Roman Reigns is going to stay on Raw.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, I think that's true. Wait, no.
Speaker 2:If Roman Reigns stays on Raw. I hope he doesn't, because but that would be a good way for him to lose and he can't stay on SmackDown anymore If he loses the match. He can't be a tribal chief because he has to hit a dollar solo every week on SmackDown, week on SmackDown.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So the best way for him, to get away from him, is Kota Raw, mm-hmm. So.
Speaker 1:What do you have to acknowledge him every week, though? Oh?
Speaker 2:so it's going to make him do it. He'll make him do it because he lost the match.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's fair, he'll have to.
Speaker 2:It's just part of the lost Survivor Series, but it wasn. Whoever wins this match is considered a tribal chief, because it's like Jey Uso when him and Roman Reigns fall. Whoever won that match is going to be a tribal chief, the head of the table, the one people acknowledge.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:You know. So Roman loses his match, he's going to have to stay on Raw because otherwise he's going to have to acknowledge Solo every time Solo comes out, going to throw the ones up. Yeah, At least on Raw he can kind of, like Jey Uso did, get away from all that and kind of do his own thing and plus, it's been on Netflix, remains, I think, does better on Netflix. It brings more eyes to Netflix too.
Speaker 1:Yeah. You know, but yeah, but for the main event, it's Sam Punk versus Seth Rollins, and I think I know it's very early into the year, but it depends on how good this match is. I feel like this is a potential best match of the year if they go that far and how good the other matches of the like, how good the other best matches of the year are. But I feel like this could be one of the best matches of the year it could be if they just let them like go out there and have a match.
Speaker 2:Here's the good thing, though or possibly good thing about Netflix Netflix isn't cable, so you could have a return of blood they already returned to. Yeah, but I mean like back in the Attitude Era. I don't think they're going to go back, but this match could have that, though, because this is a grudge match, uh-huh. You know, seth Rollins, the whole promo when they were spitting fire at each other last week on Raw, I mean, that was personal. That was 10 years of frustration built up you know what would be good.
Speaker 1:I feel like. I feel like they like kinda did this like a little bit, wouldn't like like it fully, but I feel like they let them say like a lot like personal, like actual personal stuff, and then pull their back a little, because if they said personal stuff it would be like way too much for.
Speaker 2:But if you remember, technically cm punk brought the shield up right because he and they interfere. They interfere with the cm punk and roback match to shield debut in that match yeah, but when do you say that? Because technically people were saying that cm punk brought them up to interfere in that match, like it could be robin by itself.
Speaker 1:It's just like 10 plus years ago I thought, but he, but he didn't on like a random smack, that he said I never blah blah. I know he didn't on a random smack that.
Speaker 2:He said I never blah, blah, blah. Yeah, I know he didn't. That's the original people saying that. He did, though, because he couldn't be right back by himself, so he brought them up to take him out and win. So now CM Punk left. It wasn't because he left, it was the way he left, it was what he said when he left, it was what he did when he left. It didn't work out there. Now he's back there to be, and Seth Rollins was like welcome back.
Speaker 2:We don't want you here, but welcome back. And then Seth Rollins was there the whole time and Seth Rollins never left. He got hurt, he got injured, you know. He got messed up back, blew his knee out. All this in the same time. Cm Punk was at home watching it while they were on TV. He wasn't even there.
Speaker 1:You know what I'm glad happened when Seth Rollins was doing all this to make sure the body parts and stuff were good. I'm glad he didn't get hurt doing that.
Speaker 2:He's healthy, he's good now he's not hurting anymore. I'm just saying Sam Pong was mentioning all his injuries that he had.
Speaker 1:What about the inside? I know Bronson Reed, but would they really like insides pop out? I don't think your insides, I don't think your insides would hurt if you took a tsunami.
Speaker 2:No, you can get internal bleeding, internal injuries. Yeah, you can get internal injuries. Yeah, you can get hit in the stomach at the wrong time. Yeah, you can get hurt. So a lot of times you see those guys bleeding from the mouth when they get hit in the stomach.
Speaker 1:That's just internal bleeding, that's the worst kind, this actual blood.
Speaker 2:But I'm just saying, if you hit somebody hard up in their stomach they can spit up blood Right.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:That's the worst kind, because you don't know what's going on. At least, if you get cut somewhere on the outside of your body, you can see, okay, I got. You cough up blood. You don't know where it's coming from, so you don't know what's going on inside because you can't see it. So yeah, I mean that's what CM Punk was talking about. If you get tsunami like that enough, you can have internal injuries. Did it say internal injuries?
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's why you don't know if the guys have bandages on and all that, because they're just trying to protect. But for my favorite thing well, not my favorite thing, but like one of my favorite things on the show Michael Cole versus Pat McAfee and Pat McAfee returning to commentating on Raw ever since Pat McAfee left to commentate football.
Speaker 2:Yeah, college football. And that's pretty much where they got, like I think next week, and then they're done with football for a few months. Yeah, college football, and that's pretty much where they got, like I think, next week, and then we got to their demo football for a few months, yeah.
Speaker 1:College football, so he's not going to be commentating those.
Speaker 2:Well, he might be doing the one next week, but it won't be on Monday though.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So he can always fly wherever it's going to be at and then fly back.
Speaker 1:Wait, so was it. So were those on Monday, on Monday. Those were on Saturday.
Speaker 2:So, but he was traveling though, and you can't, it was just too much to be trying to do boom, boom too much. Plus, he had a newborn baby.
Speaker 1:How did he do the Royal Rumble and stuff like that?
Speaker 2:It's just the one time. He just came there and he flew in.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Plus Royal Rumble, you know.
Speaker 1:You think he? Flew out, he was on comment. No, he was on comment, yeah probably because he was.
Speaker 2:Yeah, roy Rumble was on a Saturday and he left that morning. He went to a football game that morning and then, well, he's in the same city. It was the same city.
Speaker 1:That's why it was the same city oh, okay, that's why it was the same city.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I was figuring like at college game day. The Rock was down there too, and he showed up on Smackdown or something that same day.
Speaker 1:When was that that?
Speaker 2:same day, whatever that show was that day one Raw.
Speaker 1:Thing.
Speaker 2:Something like that or whatever it was. He showed up too after he was on TV earlier in the day. But yeah, the only thing I don't like about the Raw Netflix is they took off the uh women's intercontinental finals oh yeah, like I, I don't know why they would delay that.
Speaker 2:That's a big thing they, from what I was hearing they say, took it off because they didn't want it to be overshadowed by everything else going on. So they moved. They moved it to either next week or the roar room. I don't know when they move it to, I'm not sure I don't think something like that will be overshadowed.
Speaker 1:The Rock.
Speaker 2:John Cena, Michael Cole, Pat McAfee.
Speaker 1:But then there's also Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre.
Speaker 2:That's what I'm saying. But what I'm saying is that match. You can put that match on and this is a match. But the first ever Women's intercontinental championship needs more than what they. They want, like a Chelsea Green type of thing, where it's a big deal and they don't think it could be. It could be overshadowed by everything else going on. I mean Roman Reigns, solo, the Rock, cm Punk, seth Rollins, liv Morgan, rhea Ripley, travis Scott, john Cena, logan Paul all these people showing up and who knows who else might show up.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:There's talks of other legends showing up throughout the night.
Speaker 1:I got caught off guard when you say Travis Scott, because you were just listening off Razzlers.
Speaker 2:I know, I'm just saying it's just people, all the people showing up, plus the rumor of other Razzlers showing up, other legends showing up, who?
Speaker 1:knows, I don't want to see them. The Undertaker might show up.
Speaker 2:Who knows? This is the first time ever on Netflix, so who knows? It's just three hours and they can run over. It's not a set time for Netflix.
Speaker 1:You know they actually ran over on SmackDown. They ran over a couple minutes.
Speaker 2:They can run over on Netflix too, because Netflix is live, I feel like they will do that.
Speaker 2:There's something that comes on. After that goes off, it's time, with another show coming on at 11. They can run until 12. They want to never do that, but they can run as long as they want to. So they run five ten minutes over. They run five ten minutes over, that's just all it is. But yeah, I see why they moved it because you don't want to be overshadowed. You don't want the first ever Women's Intercontinental Championship than the United States Championship For the women.
Speaker 2:We'll see who wins. I like Dakota Kai for that. I picked her to win the original and I saw the brackets. That's who I got winning.
Speaker 1:I thought it was going to be Io Sky and Dakota Kai. Yeah, I'm so glad Io Sky is probably my favorite women's wrestler probably ever honestly but I just did not want her to see. Um, I don't want to see her beat lyra valkyria and, and even worse, uh, be the intercontinental champion, the women's intercontinental. I know you have to have like that big, like megastar to start off as champion, but also I feel like you should have someone who doesn't have that many WWE championships or someone who doesn't have any.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Except Tag maybe.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I got you, but yeah, this should be a pretty good match I mean pretty good card all the way around. They're treating it like a premium live event. This is like a premium live event 2.0. Yeah, what it seemed like.
Speaker 1:It's like WrestleMania Zero.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I mean this is a premium live event, what it looks like. I mean they're treating it like one. Roman Reigns is on there. He hardly ever wrestles on regular TV, so he go Well, yeah, he's hardly ever. He's only pretty live in mostly. That's it Pretty much he mostly she shows up sometimes.
Speaker 1:The tribal chief thing has he wrestled?
Speaker 2:I'm sure he has, but I can't remember it though.
Speaker 1:Yeah, oh, matt Riddle, yeah, stuff like that, montez Ward yeah.
Speaker 2:But um. So tune in Monday night on Netflix and we'll see how everything goes with Netflix on with raw Netflix and see, kind of, if they change the concept or anything like that. So I'm Ben, I'm Bash.
Speaker 1:And the episode of Tag Team Talk.
