Welcome, welcome, welcome to a Walk of Faith Now's podcast. I am none other than your host, Minister Katrina Jacobs. You can follow me on Facebook under Katrina Jacobs or on Instagram under Katrina Jacobs WBF, which is Walk My Faith, or you can also go to my website, which is WalkofFaithNow.com. On today I am coming out of my book, a Walk of Faith 31 Day Devotional, Day 19, broken to be put together for the Master's use. Isaiah 64 and 8. But now, Lord, you are our Father, we are the clay, and you are the potter, and all we are the work of your hands. What I take away from this passage is that God is the potter, we are the clay. Every trial that we face is used for the master's purpose. Sometimes we are being pulled and plugged, as if our breath is being sucked out of our bodies. Some of life's troubles can be overwhelming, and you may not be able to hold your head up high. Walking around feeling defeated, discouraged, depressed, and disappointed at life. This is where the word of God comes in to build us up, not tear us down. You have to speak life over yourself. While God is molding you and making you more into his image, you are the pot, you are on the potter's wheel being shaped and molded into a fine piece of art for the master's use. And the song that I use for that for this passage is Gracefully Broken by Tasha Cobbs. So let's dig in on today. Broken to be put together for the master's use. Oh my goodness, I believe that this is a passage that we can all relate to. Sometimes we feel beat and battered, worn out by life's trials and situations. And we're trying to really figure out, Lord, how is this going to work out for our good? I'm reminded of a song by J'Kaelin Carr, Greater Is Coming. And she talks about the shaking, the beating, and the pressing. This is all a process that the potter uses when he's molding the clay. And so when we go back into the scripture, it talks about God being the potter and we being the clay, and that God is molding us and making us. And so I'm talking about being put together for the master's use. So a lot of times we have to go through some brokenness, right? Sometimes we have to go through being shaped and molded. Sometimes we are going through a lot of pressure. And we are wondering how is this going to really be used for the master's use? Lord, why am I going through so many trials? Why is it that it seems like the pressure is being turned up on this situation? But see, what it is is that God is molding us and making us more into his image. He's the potter and we are the clay. And so what he's doing is he's pressing us and he's shaking us. Oh my goodness, and he's preparing us for greater. And so sometimes when we're going through all that pressure, what it's doing is getting out the old so that we can get in the new. Right? God is working on us. It talks, it's like one scripture that talks about the old wineskins and new wineskins, right? You don't want for the two of those to combine. So what God does is he gets all the old wineskins out of us, right? He presses us and he molds us and he makes us into a better image so that the new wineskins can come forth. God is trying to do something new within your life. And so you are going through some pressing, you are going through some shaking, you are going through some overwhelming circumstances where you just seem like you can't figure things out. Sometimes you often feel defeated. Maybe you don't, but I know that I do. Sometimes I feel discouraged. Sometimes I even feel depressed. And then often I get disappointed because I'm trying to figure out why I am going through so many trials and it seems like nothing is working. But I want to encourage you on today that you are being broken to be put together for the master's use. What we don't see is God is working situations out and circumstances for us. He is the potter and we are the clay. And so he is molding us and making us into a greater image so that we can look more like Christ, so that we can be used for the master's use. The song that I talked about is Gracefully Broken by Tasha Cobbs. And what she's talking about is God breaking us. Oh my goodness, but gracefully breaking us. And so can you imagine that after we're broken, that God comes and He restores us, He molds us and He makes us. Oh my goodness, everything that we went through, as Romans 8 and 28 talks about, that all things will work together for the good of them that love the Lord and that are called according to his purpose. And so even though we are going through so many trials and tribulations, God is taking that. And he's molding us into a fine piece of art for his use. Oh my goodness. God is going to get the glory out of your life. All of those situations and circumstances that you have going through, the ones that you feel like aren't even adding up, the ones that you feel like really don't make sense. God is using that to bring glory to his kingdom. He is going to get the glory out of your life. Hallelujah. He is going to get the glory. And so I want you to just start seeing yourself whole. To start seeing yourself free. Start seeing yourself out of the eyes of Christ, the way that God sees us. He sees us as a fine piece of art getting ready to be used, hallelujah, for his glory. After we go through what we've been through, we're going to be able to share that story with someone else to bring them out of darkness into the marvelous light. And that's really what it's all about. We all have a story, but what happens is that our story begins to bring God glory. Glory for his kingdom. The word of God tells us that he doesn't want for any of us to perish. And so some of the situations and the circumstances that we go through, some of the brokenness and the heartache, is to help somebody else out, is to build somebody else up in their time of despair. Yes, it may be uncomfortable. I'm not saying that these situations that we go through, trust me, when you're going through them, I'm not thinking about anybody else when I'm going through some of the things that I'm going through. All I'm trying to figure out is, Lord, how am I going to get out of this place? Right? How am I going to get to a place where I feel like I've overcome that situation or circumstance? Because let me tell you something. When you're being broken, when things are being taken away from you, when you don't understand how you're going to face tomorrow, when you don't understand how situations are going to work out, it is not a gut feeling. But I'm here to tell you is that when you take the word of God and you apply it to your situation, when you trust in God, yes, God, even though I'm going through, yet, you know, though you slay me, yet will I trust you. Even though I'm going through and it's uncomfortable, sometimes it is unbearable. God, I have enough faith to believe, God, that you are going to bring me out. Lord God, even though I'm in this dark place that seems like it's no light that's around me, but God, you are the light. And so I'm going to look to the hills from which cometh my help because I know that my help comes from you that have made heaven and earth. And so what I'm saying is that you have to, even in your process, God, what are you going to do with what I'm going through? What am I going through this situation for? Sometimes I go to God and I begin to ask him, God, how is this going to be used for your glory? Sometimes it happens quick. Sometimes years have gone by, but when I begin to look back from where I was into where I'm at, I can now see how some of the brokenness that I've gone through is being used for God's glory. Some of my most trying situations are being used to build somebody else up in this season. See, I come across all types of people at our resource center. I come through all come across all types of people in our community. And what I like to do is encourage people and let them know, yes, I understand what it is that you're going through. But let's change your perception. God, I understand I'm going through this situation. Help me get a way out. Show me the way out. And what I've learned is that God is a compass to our path. The way that I've gotten out of many situations is by applying the word of God. Even in my brokenness, Lord, what do you say about me? See, He tells me that I'm the apple of his eye. He also tells me I'm above and not beneath. He tells me I'm the lender and not the borrower. So even though I may be going through some challenging situations and circumstances, I may feel like I'm being broken, battered, bruised, and used. But what I do is I take the word of God and I apply it to my situation. God's word is here to build us up, not tear us down. That's why one scripture says, Thy word have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against you. Because think about it, where it even becomes a sin. When we're worrying about how is the story, how the story is going to end. We have to let go and let God. We have to apply his word to our situation. And I'm telling you, when you begin to apply the word and that broken place, little by little, come on, your heart is being healed. You're being mended. God is giving you the strength and ability to forgive people. He's giving you the strength and ability to go on, to press your way through no matter what it looks like. And so I want you to be encouraged on today. Yes, you may be broken to be put together for the master's use. There shall be glory after this. You do have a brighter future. See yourself the way that God sees you. He is the pot or weir to clay. Even though you're going through, he's molding you and he's making you more into his image. He's getting out some of the old so that he can get in the new wineskins. Hallelujah. So that we can be put together for the master's use. It's a great performance that's getting ready to take place with your name on it. Hallelujah. He's working things out. I love to say that when we don't see God working, that's because he's behind the scenes, putting everything into his proper place. And one thing I want us to all to also know is God knows what it'll take. Sometimes he has to break us down to get a hold of us, to get through to us. So God knows what it's going to take. But he also said in his word that I know the plans that I have for you, and they're to prosper you and bring you to an expected end. And so I need for you to know that you have an expected future on today. You have a bright future. Hallelujah. You are an overcomer through the blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony. You may be broken, but God is healed to heal you. He's here to restore you. He's here to build you up. Hallelujah. He's going to get the glory out of your life. No matter what it looks like, God is in control. Hold on a little while longer. You will not always be broken. You will not always feel discouraged and disappointed. God is working things out in your life. Things are getting ready to come to pass. I want you to know that it's turning in your favor. I love to use a lot of songs when I talk because that's what I meditate on throughout the day. When I feel discouraged, I throw a song on that listens, you know, that I can listen to that will help restore me. Because sometimes you can't walk around with the Bible all day, but you can have a song or a melody, hallelujah, in your heart. You can put on something while you're driving and allow that to, you know, go into your ear gates. Where I can say, you know what, God is turning it around for my favor, in my favor, for my good. God did turn this situation around. And so I just want you to be encouraged on today. You are being broken, but you are being put back together for the master's use. Greater is coming. I often like to say that greater is here, greater is now in this moment. The best is yet to come. Thank you so much for tuning in to a Walk of Faith Nails podcast.
