On Our Terms with Ismatou Bah
Welcome to On Our Terms with Ismatou Bah: a brave space for the unfiltered conversations we don't typically see in mainstream media, anchored by guests who are living life on their own terms. Every conversation is carved with a sociologist's eye, through the lens of Ismatou's competing identities as a first-generation, Guinean-Muslim, native New Yorker. On Our Terms is where those seemingly disparate identities converge, convene, and come home. Just remember: this is NOT a safe space, it’s a brave space.

Mummy...Imma do what I want, whether you like it or not ft. Aminatou | Part 1

Be Brave! What's on your mind?
Aminatou (@aminathree) pulled up to OOT and….DID. NOT. HOLD. BACK. Growing up (Guinean) Fulani under one of the most conservative strains of Islam, leaving the faith, telling her parents to their faces, and still living under their roof. Then we got into her parents, the relationship with her dad, the fracture with her mom, and whether misogyny shapes which parent gets grace and which one doesn't. Part 1 of 2, and we were just getting started.
Stay tuned for part 2 coming soon!
