Children internalize family breakups emotionally, rationally, and neurologically, not just intellectually. Unfortunately people fail to recognise the real dysfunctional separations involving secrecy, affairs, and hostility that leads to psychological patterns in children. And consequences on children can be real, starting from believing that love leads to abandonment or that romantic desire outweighs family loyalty.
