Eye On The Shire
Welcome to Eye on the Shire, our look behind the scenes at some of the key lifestyle challenges and opportunities as well as sharing success stories of Indigo Shire communities and their residents.
I’m Scott Landells and I will be hosting this series of podcasts. I am also a candidate in the upcoming Indigo Shire Council elections to be held in October 2024.
Eye On The Shire is brought to you by Sally Jean from Glow Well-Being and I am super excited to have Sally joining me as co-host. Sally has had various careers and roles within community and family that include being an art educator, therapist, circle facilitator and carer to name a few. She has lived in both rural and urban locales around the world - currently living in a small rural community just across the Murray River in NSW.

Minding Your Wellbeing (part 1)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Mental Health has been a focus of Government and their agencies for decades. So after millions of dollars of investment over a few decades, why is mental health still a struggle for so many?
Scott and Sally chat with community member Kate (not her real name) who accesses services within her Indigo Shire community, and Matt Grace, who is a Mental Health Nurse.
Along the way we explore current and potential solutions and delve into some of the recommendations from the recent Mental Health Royal Commission whose final report was tabled in a special sitting of the Victorian Parliament on 2 March 2021.
In our chat with Matt Grace he mentioned the Grit and Resilience Program at Rural City of Wangaratta - click the link for further details
