Episode #12 - How we can help our Returned missionaries with Cortland Watson

In today’s episode we are joined by our first Male guest! Cortland Watson. Cortland is a psychiatrist and a life coach. He and his wife have built a business called Returned and Renewed. They help parents and young adults with the transition of coming home from a mission. This can be a tricky time to navigate for missionaries as their whole world is flipped upside down and parents send off a child and now they have a full blown adult. In this episode Cortland shares 4 actionable steps we can do to help our returned missionaries. 

1. Come up with a new purpose statement. 
2. Connection - Help them to connect with amazing friends or potential spouses  without the focus being, getting married as soon as possible but having the focus being related to the purpose statement. They need to be looking for relationships that provide value and fit within the purpose statement.
3. Don’t snuff out their spiritual fire! Help them care for their faith. Ask them about their relationship with God and what they are doing daily to stay close to HIm.
4. Development. Again connecting back their purpose statement, help them to make a plan for their personal development. Help them choose a career path that is going to line up with their values and their vision for their life. 

I love these ideas applied to everyone! When we have a clear vision we can go places!
