Hey everyone! Welcome to the 3W podcast. It's 2026. Happy New Year. I know this is mid-Feb, but I haven't seen you all. I know we dropped a podcast in early January that we recorded, I believe that was in early December. So technically, this is our first one back. And I just love to say Happy New Year because I'm a huge fan of Happy New Year. Not really the big going out portion of it, but like I love a reset. I love a clean sleigh. I love a beginning. So happy New Year. Also, because it's mid-February, happy Valentine's Day. I'm going to assume this will drop Friday before Valentine's Day. So happy love weekend to all of you. Um, yeah, just happiness all the way around. Couple things. This is a solo podcast today. So I hope that's okay with all of you. I just wanted to jump in here and chat with y'all about the new magazine. So first, I have notes over here to my left, which is why I have my glasses on. So bear with me. Number one and number two, have you seen the new magazine? It hit the stands. Stands. It hit the streets right after Martin Luther King Day. So the kids have been out delivering them and then we had snow begend. So that delayed a few things. But I hope you've seen this new magazine out and about. And if you haven't, let us know. new here, thank you for joining us. Uh, a couple snippets about me. Um, I'm Casey Oakley. I'm the owner of 3W magazine. I have owned it by myself for three years, but I co-founded it 18 years ago. So that's exciting. We had a 15-year run together with my former business partner, and that was so fun. 3W stands for the who, what, where of Northwest Arkansas. And that's just kind of where 3W came from. But I am a mom to two boys. I have a 11-year-old named Crew, who is in fifth grade, and I have a 15-year-old, soon to be 16, in less than two months. We're on the uh less than 60-day slide of him driving, and he is a sophomore. His name is Chase. Anyways, those are my two kids. My husband is Colby Yakley, and he is a construction engineer out battling you lots of roads that we need. And I've lived here, and I do that in air quotes, because I've lived here in Northwest Arkansas for 20 years. January 6, 2026 was my 20-year anniversary of living here in Northwest Arkansas. So it's safe to say I've lived here longer in one place than all my years in Oklahoma. So yeah. Anyways, how fun is this? Not not the not the pic not the picture of me, but how fun is this piece of artwork that I stumbled across in Betonville, I don't know, nine months ago. And I just thought that was so fun. And then I heard someone speak at a BFF event how she was a transplant and she moved here, and community ended up being everything for her. And it gave me the idea to celebrate my 20-year anniversary living in Northwest Arkansas. So that's why I chose to do that founder photo in front of that here piece of artwork. So yeah, I thought that was kind of fun. Anyways, let's dive into 3W. I know I you know y'all all know me. I skip around a ton. I can hardly keep staying on a straight path. Um, well, speaking of that, uh, I'm self-diagnosed, ADHD, because I cannot keep, I cannot stay on task. But I funny enough, I was in the doctor's office last week and I asked him if he thought I should be tested. And he was like, absolutely not. You've already learned how to cope with it. And I'm like, oh, well, that's fun because it feels like a daily failure, but that's okay. He said no, so we're gonna go with what the doctor said. Okay, so 3W magazine, I already said

How The Annual Guide Works

it, stands for the Who, What, Where of Northwest Arkansas. Remember, I have my notes, even though I know all about this magazine. We're a locally owned annual publication that is devoted entirely to the Northwest Arkansas philanthropic community. Like we have all 12 months. Sorry, the magazine is made up of these calendar pages. So, like, here's what's happening this month. And we try to get our hands on as many of those nonprofit events as we possibly can before we go to print in early December, so that you all will be very, very organized for the following year and know who to support, what to support, where it is, what the nonprofits are. That's the bread and butter of 3W. And then we have usually like a dozen or so fun content pieces. And that's kind of what I'm here to talk to you about today, because I really like the content in this year's. I usually always really like the content in the magazine, but I thought some of this was like next level kind of fun. So just hang with me a little bit and we're gonna start like right now.

EverHope Rebrand And Mission

So during the snow, I feel so bad for them. I hate this, but during the snow, the North Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter hard launched their new name, right? They are now, I'm sorry, EverHope. And they are EverHope because they're not just a children's shelter anymore. And they haven't been just a children's shelter for years. They have been serving the Northwest Arkansas community in a shelter capacity for over 30 years, but they've also had a school. They now have a foster care program, they have a pathway to adulthood program that is still in the exploration stage, and they have a school project program. I already said school, sorry, but um, y'all know what I mean. So they're not just a shelter. So while the logo per se, the little house logo is still there from the shelter, but now they're ever hope and they're quilting children's lives together in a holistic approach. So um they hard launched that during the snow and they had this big event planned, and of course the snow had to cancel it. But stay tuned to their social channels, check out their new website because they're gonna do that again, even though it's already out and changing. But uh, this will be a couple year campaign to try and like reshift our like mindsets to ever hope. So join me in congratulating them because that was a huge feat in getting that off the ground. So I'm really, really, really excited for them. Okay, our next fun little piece of content, and you may have heard this. So I told you when I started this little podcast right now that we had recorded a couple podcasts with Gay Prescott from Hope Cancer Resources in I believe December or November. I don't know. Circle Of Hope Giving Circle

they went live in early, early January. So we talked all about her new giving circle. So the Hope Cancer Resources Circle of Hope. And it's a ladies' giving circle, and it has like three or four tiers, I believe. And you we have these are all the founding members of their giving circle. So we did a fun photo shoot at Romance Diamond. Uh, Brittany Adair was so kind to open up her shop early so we could shoot the founding ladies back in December. And they all got these beautiful medallion necklaces. And the money, what your donation goes towards, is so meaningful. Go back to that podcast and give that a listen and learn all the ins and outs of what the circle of hope is going to do, but also listen to another one of the podcasts that we did with Gay Prescott, and you'll know all the ins and outs of Hope Cancer Resources. shocked and happy all at the same time. So we did a fun story on them. We did it, sat down with them, did a QA, and um this is it. So we've got the golf coach, Coach Shauna S. Taylor, softball, coach Courtney Difel. Who's dead here? Oh, gymnastics coach, court coach Jordan Weber, and head basket female basketball coach. I'm sorry, lady razorback coach, uh, coach Kelsey Music. And I gotta say, these ladies are complete badasses. I hope you will read this article because um it's just fun. And they have a lot of spirit about them. They have a lot of wise advice about them. They're all four of them are moms. I will tell you my favorite snibets from all of them, and I've got my notes. So I apologize, I apologize again. But um Kel Coach Kelsey, I'm just gonna use her first names. Coach Kelsey is a former Oakie, and you know I love me some people from Oklahoma. So we hit it off that she's from Oklahoma. She is always like stacked with the bangles, and she's so real. Um, I was blown away. And I'm a huge hugger, and she's a hugger, and she's so kind that I just I kind of fell in love with her. So I really hope her season starts taking the upward trajectory. And I hope she's here for a long time because she is a massive asset to the Northwest Arkansas community. Um, Coach Courtney and her Diamond Hogs, y'all, when I tell you the way she talks about her kids, I had tears in my eyes because it's kind of how I feel about my boys, even though they drive me bananas on a daily basis. But like they are literally my breath. And you can just tell by how she speaks about her kids, they are her breath. And I I just completely fell in love with that. Not to mention her diamond hogs are freaking amazing. Um, Coach Shauna is hilarious. So she just rolled up to the photo shoot on a golf cart and a very prominent thinker, golf clubs on the golf cart. I'm not gonna say who whose they were, but she was like, whatever, it's fine. And so we shot her at different places all around the Blessings golf course. Thank you, shout out to them. Um, she was so fun and hilarious and real. So this was kind of back during the like I don't know, football drama happening, and she was just real. And you know what? She did talk about, you know, every bad news always travels quickest, right? But she was talking about her love for um Hunter Yurichek and how great of an AD that she thinks that he is. So I just thought that was that was cool. She didn't have to say any of those things, but um, she's a complete badass too. And side note, if you ever get to hear her daughter interview her, it is the best and most hilarious and sweetest thing you've ever seen. I mean, shout out to her, her husband, and the entire ladies' golf team for pouring into that young lady. It's it's amazing. And then last but not least, Coach Jordan. I'm not really sure if I need to say much more besides gold medal Olympian. I mean, I don't have a gold medal, plus I'm not an Olympian. So I'm like, right away, that makes her unfreaking believable. And the lady, the gym backs, I think that's what they're called, they're so lucky to have her. She said that coaching is like a very small percentage of what she actually does. She's really mentoring and parenting these young ladies while they're here at the university. Like, and she just became a mom. So she's been doing all this since before she came a real mom per se. And I just thought that was so neat. She's like, oh, the coaching, that's so second or third. This I have what I'm pouring into these ladies is second to none and managing, mommaging, whatever, all the things. So I just thought that was kind of neat. So get out there. I know they're still flipping on their mats. So get out there and support them. Um, next we have Osage House. I'm sure many of you have been to Osage House. and her husband have created out there. I mean, let's see, where are we at? I mean, how fun are those stairs with Ashley on them? But like, how gorgeous is this? It's just we needed something that was beautiful and timeless, and you could transform it into your vision. So when I say white glass box, it lends itself to whatever you want it to be. So um, check out this story that Ashley, where Ashley and her husband, how they created this amazing situation. Just say no to orange carpet, right? Just say no. Okay. Oh my gosh, this is a fun, fun section that we have done every year. And then a couple years ago, we launched Leading Lads, but the leading ladies section. So every year we choose some leading ladies and leading lads now in the community that are rising above. And it it might be for their job, it might be for their philanthropic efforts, it just might be for what they off-handedly said. And I was like touched by it. So now I get to dive into them. So how awesome is if you I hope, sorry, I hope you all have a chance someday to meet this dynamic lady. So I first met her at my oldest and Jennifer's um daughter. They went to the same school in Rogers, and now they go to the same school in Bentonville. And um, I first met her there, and she's just so kind, so smiley, so says hi, the ultimate networker.

And I just kind of got to know her, and she used to have this purple stripe in her hair. It was pretty cool. I kind of wanted her to do that again, actually. But so I chose her because she's the like eternal networker, she knows everybody. She's from Fort Smith, she's lived in Little Rock, she lives up here now. She campaigns for females and for all people. Like she is like your best cheerleader. So she is heading up all kinds of amazing things at the amazing right now. So if you have a chance, drop by the amazing and ask to see her because she's complete badass. Okay, and then another leading lady is my friend. You know, and I say friend, I really do mean friend. These people in the magazines, like clients, partners, content, they end up becoming my friends. Well, I think they're my friends, whether they consider me their friend, that that's on them. But I have a very open heart. I unfortunately I love with my whole heart. So my feelings get hurt very, very easily, but that's okay. I I love people and I I kind of become best friends. I, in my head, I become best friends with them over email. So I have been talking to Sarah at Sachi for years dealing with their ads. So it was funny. We showed up for her photo shoot and I was like, friend, hey, and I went in for the hug and we hugged because that's what I do. And she was like, It's so fun, it's so good to finally meet you. And I'm like, Oh, I forgot we had never met in person because we have talked, and when I say years, I'm talking like before COVID. We have talked that long on email and just never connected face to face. So I was kind of excited. I just was like, Oh, it's my friend. But yeah, she still is my friend. Anyway, she's awesome. What she does at Sashi, Sachi is amazing, plus what she does in her real life, her personal life is awesome. She's the ultimate traveler, and like that's what brings her joy. And her son is going off to college or is graduating this year. So, anyways, give her a good listen or read. Give her a good read. It's fine. Oh, my next one. This was a fun one. So stumbled across across this one. So um it's funny when we put somebody in the magazine, inevitably their job changes right before we go to print or right after that we go to print. It's usually like a Walmart Sam's Club person. And I knew I wanted to do Tyler Lair this year because if you have any assimilation with the nonprofit community, you see that Tyler Lair is a chair, uh a face to help fundraise or a I can't think of the other word for the chair. But, anyways, Tyler is always on people's collaterals. And I was like, oh, I don't know him. How do I not know him by now? Everyone's using Tyler Lair, and I'll get to somebody else with Walmart when we get to the back. But um, and so I wanted Tyler Lair because he's got a great job, plus, he's fundraising for all these amazing causes. So it's a win-win for 3W. And I emailed him and I emailed him, and he finally responded, was like, Casey, I just don't know. I need to have a call. So we had a call and I had to bulldoze and steamroll over him to get him to say yes, because he was like, I just this feels boastful. And I was like, you can do it. I want to share your story. So I did. Keep in mind, we have not met. So I go to this dinner at Loma, shout out in one uptown, and it's for the children's shelter now, Ever Hope. And Tyler Lair and his wife are there. And I get seated at their table, and we're at a four-top. So it's just the three of us. And I was like, oh, hi, I'm who I am. And I was like, you and I just had a phone conversation last week. He's like, oh my gosh. Anyways, got to know him and his wife. They're hilarious, they're empty nesters, they live out in the boondocks. He just went, he went to Rogers High School. He's a complete total native. And I had the best, I laughed the whole time. The entire time we were eating, I sat there and laughed. So I feel like we're best friends essentially at this point. Anyways, in the process of all that, he jumped to Sam's Club. So I was like, oh, well, at least he made the jump before we went to print. So we shot him at Sam's Club. So he's doing all the alcohol and stuff over at Sam's Club, which is so great. So this photo shoot was set up, ironically, a week after it was set up weeks in advance, but it was placed a week after I had just had dinner with him. So we got, I got to show up and literally hook my friend. So it was good. It was good. He's fun. I hope you'll give him a big listen or I'm sorry, a big read. Yeah, he's so fun. I just, I just like that story. And then about how I had to phone, have a phone call with him and talk him into it because he just wasn't, he was like, this just feels like bragging. And I was like, it is what it is. Just do it. So oh my gosh. And here's a huge fun one for me. Y'all know my friend Alison McElroy with the McElroy group. I've known her for let's see, my oldest is, we'll just call them 16. So I've known her for 17 years of my 20 that I've lived here. And I've done a podcast on her podcast. She's been a guest on our podcast. Actually, she was like ground zero, like number one podcast or number one guest because I knew she would be fun. I knew she would bring me energy. She's electric. She's kind. And we can just like go off on tangents about anything and everything. She has the very best. Um, I'm having

But Alison McElroy, shout out to her. I love her so much. She is, I hope all of you find her and love her because she is Northwest Arkansas's philanthropic communities number one cheerleader. She will help you in any shape or form. You give her a call. She's just one of the most amazing people. In fact, she was in the office earlier this week and I just love her. So give her a read. I and she is kind of moonlighting for the Rogers Historical Museum in downtown Rogers. And what she is, the eyes that she has brought to that museum is second to none. So I do hope you will check her out and check out the museum. Oh my gosh, this is another one. Chef Rios. Have you been to Yeos? They're not a client. And that's okay. I just love supporting people. But Chef Yeos, he has amazing restaurants. He's a James Beard Award nominee almost annually. And he has a good name in this community and he does good things. And he has a great story. And I love his food. Those chorizo tacos are freaking amazing and they make a mean Ranch water. So um definitely please stop by his all his entities. So he has two entities in Bentonville, to my knowledge, and then one entity in downtown Rogers. And he had one in Springdale. I'm not 100% if that is still around or not. I probably should have checked, but y'all know me. I'm just, I say it like it is. And um, but he he is so kind and so nice. And I know I say that because I mean I'm obviously only gonna put kind people in the magazine, but um, shooting him was very fun. He was just so just genuine. I I don't know, he's just just nice. So let's support our new nice people and support our local restaurants. Like how great. And they grow everything that they serve. So step up and support him. So his food's amazing. Then, and I and I love that we chose him as a leading lad. I think that was Ashley's idea, which I just love the ideas that Ashley brought to the table this year. Oh, here's another fun one. Bavon. Bavon at Pepsi. I'm gonna butcher his last name, but Sarvendram. Who knows if I'm really saying that right? But how fun is his photo on the back of, or I'm sorry, on their Pepsi wall. They just refreshed their Pepsi Cherry drink in the fall, I believe. And so we were lucky enough to get to shoot him on their new cherry wall. So I just thought that was so fun. But I love Bavon's commitment to the Northwest Arkansas community. Like, there's a ton of teamleads out here, and he's teamlate of PepsiCalmart and his counterpart, Erica Grundish, team lead of PepsiCo Sam's Club, they step up and support. Like, I don't get to go to many events just because my boy's schedules are insane. And any of y'all who have kids know that that's just it is what it is. My husband isn't able to um help out with the evening drives much. So I handle it. And with soccer and basketball and baseball, I there's always a ball happening. So I don't get to go to a lot of the events anymore. But Bavon and his PepsiCe and Erica and her PepsiCee, they always show up and show out. And it I just had a conversation with him in the fall, I believe. He was like,

Safe Space On Dixon Street

it there was a couple events with um namesake vendors on them that he was like, why can't we replicate something like this? And there goes my watch again. So I apologize. You know why I don't silence it? Because I forget to unsilence it. And then that defeats the purpose of being notified about anything. Anyways, Bavon and his team, or he wants to replicate a huge event in Northwest Arkansas. Replicate isn't the right word, but emulate, I guess, that brings the community together, might have a sports or a music tie that can be PepsiCo branded. So if you have any ideas, bring them to us because we're supposed to meet in um Q2, I believe, to try and chat about this. But he's not just like here doing his tour, he's here investing in the community and wants to build PepsiCo's name in the community and the nonprofit community. And I just love that. So he's walking the talk. And I just that just made me happy a lot. You know, some people don't walk the talk, and he is one of them that is truly walking the talk and excited to be at all these events. And I just love it because you know we have over 4,000 nonprofits. So anyone that is excited to be at all of those, he's a keeper, right? Oh my gosh. So Tasha Tandy, like Tyler Lair, Tasha has been over or been on everyone's radar for nonprofits. And so I knew I needed to chat with her. So I emailed her a couple of times and then I cornered her at a food bank event. And she is so fun and so nice and so genuine. And ironically, right before we went to print, she got a job change. So she is she was breakfast at Walmart. Now she is alcohol at Walmart. So she is the one making all your alcohol beverage dreams come true. But how she is so sweet. I ran into her. So we took her photo and I hadn't sent her any of her photos yet. And I ran into her at a children and family advocacy event, their um barn event. I think it's in October, November. Anyways, and she was like, oh my gosh, what what are the photos look like? Because I just did a photo shoot for someone else and they already put it out. And I would never have chosen that photo. And I was like, oh my gosh, don't worry about it. I will send you the photos, but I've already chosen the photo because out of all the photos, one photo stood out. And I mean, our photographers, I say that photographers too, because we had two this year, or three, actually. But um, this one, this smile on Tasha's face was the happiest and most genuine of all of them. So I sent her all of them and I told her, I was like, but I

want to run this one because it's the most real photo. And I have a hard time being real in photo. I'm sorry, I'm really itchy today either. Also, um, I I just I loved it. I loved it. I loved it. It just made me so happy. Give her a fun read because she's got some fun, hidden talents. She's pickleball obsessed, and she's got a third, third, what how do you say it? Third degree black belt in Taekwondo. Like, thought that was gonna be her job. Is that not the wildest thing? So I don't give her a listen. So she is um now doing SVP of alcohol. So uh that's fun. I wonder if she has to sample everything. Okay, last but not least, absolutely not least. I say not least because, like this gentleman, my last name isn't in Son of Y, so I'm always at the very end as well. But Cody Yancey, can you see him? I'm sorry. There we go. Cody Yancey. He owns a hot dog stand on Dixon Street. And I think he told me there's also like a semi-permanent location just up, like his cart is usually around Walton Center Bay. If you go just up the hill, there's like a maybe a food trailer with the hot dogs in it. But um, and we're not featuring him because of hot dogs. I'm sure they're amazing. And he serves PepsiCo or Frito La products with his hot dogs. But Cody has been working the streets of Dixon or I'm sorry, working Dixon Street for years. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, something like that, or Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and selling hot dogs to whoever's need partaking in many beverages and needs a hot dog. But the amazing thing about him is that he's a safe space. So if you feel

Arkansas Children’s Northwest Gala Theme

like you're in trouble on Dixon Street or you need help, all you have to do is go to him. He will sit you down, he will call you an Uber, he will get you home. He is a safe space, he's a protector of all. And I read this, he posted every year, usually in August, of like, I'm a safe space. Come to me, no questions asked, I will help you. And he may post it in January when the kids come back too. But um, I have fallen in love with that. This is not a person that is asking for handouts in any shape or form. He just wants all the college kids to know that he is a safe space if they need any help. And one of the most fun stories is that, like on parents' weekend or when parents come back for games or whatever, they will oftentimes stop by his hot dog stand and just give him some cash and be like, thanks for helping get my daughter or son home a week or two ago, whenever it was, because those kids are so grateful and thankful that they have shared that story with their parents and their parents make sure to find him. He's not asking for a payback, but how nice just to be there, be there for everyone, just while he's selling his hot dogs. So I just think that is, I've always wanted to do a story on him. And um, so I did. I love that one. Okay. Now she's not a leading lady per se in the magazine, but she's definitely a leading lady because it's our good friend, Frankie. Frankie Raken. Like I've known Frankie, uh I don't even know, probably 15 years. And she is now the CEO of the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas. And she is hilarious. If you meet her or if you know her, you know how funny she is. She's one of the funniest people I've ever known. She is so genuine and kind and loving and real and sarcastic. She's just the best, the one of the best people. But I love that she her talents are finally being recognized for the leader that she is. And it's a tough job. I'm sorry. I've still got my corner turned down. It's a tough job being a CEO, but she is leading with so much grace. And they're in a capital campaign to try and build their new campus in Harbor in Springdale. And let me read to you what this is gonna, because I don't want to butcher it too badly. But um, it's a brand new comprehensive campus that is gonna house programming, staff, and counseling service. So that I'm not sure we'd stay on task very much, but I mean, that doesn't matter. And then, last but not least, and I skipped over this only because it's a fold out, but um let's see if I can do this right. Foldouts are hard for me to to pull up, is the gala of hope for Arkansas Children's Northwest. So they, so time to go. Yeah, see that fold out. Anyways, Mandy Mackey and Jennifer Yurchek are going to MC the newly themed gala. So I apologize. But they, it's town and country themed. So I think the town and country magazine think like white open spaces, big black bowl type horses, leather sofas, riding boots. I don't know what that's gonna look like in gala form, but that's their new theme. So it should be pretty fun. And then it's being chaired by, and so you see the whole big picture, but it's being chaired by Ben and Dalila Blakeman, who just got married last year, and they are the chairs of it. And this was this theme was their idea. So they're kind of putting their stamp on it. And I love that. And in fact, because this podcast, I think, will come out right before Valentine's Day. One, it's not too late to go get your diamonds at Blakeman's for your sweetheart. And two, there it goes again. And two, they just had a winter chic cocktail party at Blakeman's last week to raise funds for Arkansas Children's Northwest. So, how great is that? So I apologize, but there's their ad. And then I'm you're sure, I hope you will come to no this event over here, because with Yuri and Mandy being the MCs, you are going to laugh so hard you will cry. Anyways, I just kind of wanted to jump on here and talk to you all about um what's in the magazine for this new year. I do really like this magazine. Quick shout out. I do want to talk about the cover very, very quickly. Um, quick shout out to my friend Bobby Hart who painted this. Y'all, this is just a snippet of the painting. When I tell you it is so big and long, it is so big and long. And it has much, much more to this. I know it's a dark cover, it's a darker cover than we've done in a long time, but the movement, I sound like an art person. The movement in this painting, well, it's just amazing because every time you look at it, you kind of find something different. It's got this giant gold and green border that's really fun. I did not keep the painting for myself. I told him to donate it to a nonprofit where it will hopefully raise quite a bit of money for its mission. So I just, I just hope y'all would like that. And Bobby Hart is with One Uptown. So um he designed that. So yeah, I do like this cover. I got this idea to ask him to do the cover of the magazine because he hand painted his garage. And it is like, it's not in a 3W magazine style at all. It's like a serpent and some skulls and whatnot, but it is the coolest. It is like, it's like 80s roller ring met Anaconda. I don't know. It's so, so, so, so cool. Anyways, um, so that's the quick story behind this. And then don't forget to check out our presenting sponsors. Like, they all do amazing things in the community.
