May 11, 2021 Episode 253
Dave Hopkins

This weeks guest is Ryan Long. He is the Creative Services Manager and Designer behind the HAAS F1 Racing team. If you aren't following F1 racing yet, go check out the Netflix documentary Drive to Survive to see what you are missing. @ryan_long_01

During this episode we talk about:

-design for an F1 team and what is included in all that.

-how his original creative direction was architecture and how he ended up making the pivot.

-how a sign shop going out of business lead him to specialize in motorsports design where he has been for 16 years.

-how the design of 1 particular car was influential to him in his career.

-the time in his career when he went from design team, to solo designer and how that adjsutment went for him.

-a large event logo that he designed and why he is so proud of it.

Of course there is loads more in this episode. I'm a "car guy" so I really enjoyed chatting about motorsports design and what that category of design actually looks like. Great conversation!
