Lael Rides Around the World
This summer, I'll be riding around the world and going after the Guinness Record for fastest circumnavigation by bicycle (female). The current record is 124 days set by Jenny Graham. My goal is to ride the 18,000 miles (29,000 km) in 110 days. Follow along as I deliver daily podcasts from the road. Presented by Quad Lock, the best way to carry your phone on your bike. Music was created by my brother, James Wilcox.

On June 7th at 4 a.m. from Buckingham Fountain in Chicago, I'm starting my ride around the world with the challenge of being the fastest person overall. Set in 2017, Mark Beaumont holds the current record at 78 days, 14 hours and 40 minutes. That's 30 days faster than my finish in 2024.
18,000 miles (29,000 km) with the goal of finish by 6:40 p.m. on August 24th.
It's just a big bike ride after all.
We'll be recording a podcast daily. This is the only one that we'll record from a bed while the rest of them will be from the bike.
