In this episode of The Bigspin Fingerboard Podcast, I sit down with Deiondre Moses-Spencer, the owner of Dread Tuning, a Pacific Northwest-based brand that’s quickly becoming a favorite in the fingerboard community for its high-quality bushings and tuning products.
Deiondre has been involved in fingerboarding for years, but his journey hasn’t been a straight line. We talk about getting into the hobby, stepping away and coming back multiple times, starting different brands along the way, and the lessons he’s learned from each experience.
Dread Tuning officially started in December 2025, making this a really interesting look at someone who is still early in building a brand while already having a long history with fingerboarding. We get into what it’s like starting over, what he’s learned from previous businesses, his love for the hobby, and how he’s approached building Dread from the ground up.
We also get into some fingerboard hot takes, the current state of the scene, and plenty of conversation about what it takes to build something in the fingerboard community.
Whether you’ve been fingerboarding for years or you’re just getting started, there’s a lot to take away from this one.
