Literacy Success with Phonological Awareness

Kristy Haworth Season 1 Episode 2

In this episode I explain the importance of developing the part of the brain responsible for understanding how sounds make up our English language. It's called phonological and phonemic awareness and if your child doesn't have it - they are going to struggle with literacy.
The good news is that these pre-literacy skills can be developed and strengthened and reading and spelling will begin to improve immediately as a result.
In this episode I will teach you about the hierarchy of skills that are vital to reading and spelling development. I'll also give you ideas about how you can  develop and strengthen these pre-literacy skills with your child - at any age.
