We get into a mix of hoops, culture, and honesty this episode. We start with Jaden Ivey and the balance between faith and the NBA, then break down Duke’s collapse against UConn. From there, we react to J. Cole admitting he doesn’t truly see himself as the best rapper, which sparks a bigger conversation about confidence and competition in hip hop. We also debate Pat Bev saying Harden is better than D-Wade, and close things out by looking at NBA MVP betting odds and where the value really is.

SPEAKER_10I don't want to see nobody die.
SPEAKER_12Yeah. Nah, I don't want definitely don't want to see nobody die, but like you said, I I I'm team Dirk, I guess, in this situation. Uh because like you said, I've been a fan longer. That's that's that's really it.

SPEAKER_10That was just crazy right there.
SPEAKER_12No, I'm just because I said nigga, mad times right there. Real nigga, fake nigga, dah dah da. But shout out to y'all, man. Shout out to my fucking dogs. Salute them boys in the field, man. See y'all. It's nice. You know what that means. Shout outs to my women. Shout outs to my bow, bow, pow, bow. Shoutouts to my motherfucking hoes, man. All the beautiful women out there. We can't forget, man. Blessings on the kids, man. We haven't forgotten about them files. We haven't. We haven't.
SPEAKER_10Shout out to the kids once again. Uh, first order of business. Just real quick, we're not gonna dive into these topics, but Javante's out here bugging.
SPEAKER_12He's doing a lot. Javante Davis is doing a lot. It's in his character at this point. This is like the fifth woman I seen him whoop ass. He whoops ass. Like real bad, too. Why are we doing this? And this is a different girl than the past.
SPEAKER_10Than his baby mom. It looked like a different girl than his baby mom.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, Tank, man, we we gotta you gotta do something, bro. We fuck with you. We really do. We don't even wanna like we don't even want to do this right now. I don't, but it might be time to sit down, bro. Yeah. Yeah. It's time to sit down, bro. You gotta, you gotta go on X. Go on Pornhub. He gotta get one off to himself before he starts dealing with these bitches. Cause he's gonna whoop ass once his fillers get involved. Spend some get some alone time in, bro. Yeah, and I don't understand why you why are you so emotionally invested? Like, I understand, bro. Love is this is I mean, but dog, you you tank at the end of the day. Like, what are we doing out here, bro? And disclaimer, we don't know what happened. We just seen the video that TMZ posted. We don't know the backstory. We're on the outside looking in. But like we said, this is not the first time we have seen him do this. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_10So what did you have to say about Floyd? You said something about Floyd before we started this.
SPEAKER_12Oh shit. Yeah. Um, just Floyd out here. Floyd need a bag, man. Floyd was out here taking all these fights. He was supposed to fight Pacquiao, supposed to be doing the exhibition with Mike Tyson, the exhibition with this, like a lot of weird shit, bro. And now he's pulling out of these, like it's looking bad for Floyd right now, bro. And I'm nervous, I'm worried. Like for the first time ever.
SPEAKER_10Oh, you're really worried about Floyd.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, yeah, yeah. For the first time. Niggas been talking this Floyd broke shit, whatever. I never believed it. But for the first time ever, I'm worried.
SPEAKER_10Okay, well, prayers to Floyd man, prayers to Javante, prayers to the boxing community.
SPEAKER_12And they both got that, they both got a little bit of that in them. I don't want to throw no smite on nobody. It could be little syndrome. But I don't, I don't, and we're not going to get into this, but the little guys who can fight, I don't know why you have little man syndrome, especially when you're one of the best fighters in the world.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. Ever. Yeah, ever. Ever is different than the world.
SPEAKER_12Ever. Both of them in their own right are two of the best fighters ever. Why do y'all feel this way when these things are pop like you can walk through any decade in history and whoop ass. I would feel confident in that. Yeah. Because niggas like us, we just lean on being tall. I was about to say that's I think that's a little less to lean on than being the best fighter in the world. I lean on being tall and I got a gun. Right? But but there's people who short can fight better than you and they can have a gun. So they got it. Yeah. But they don't know they got it. Yeah, I'm about to say I don't understand why they don't know they got it. But speaking of prayers, uh, let's let's get into your man Jaden Ivey.
unknownOh man.
SPEAKER_10Got a video for y'all.
SPEAKER_12Hold on. I was gonna say your video, I think my video predates your video because he was wilding. Go ahead, go ahead, go, go ahead.
SPEAKER_10Let me get my video. Oh, and uh, for anybody listening, Jaden Ivey is, I guess, a former NBA player.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I think. He got drafted to the Pistons. Wasn't he like a seventh? He was definitely a top pick. Yeah, he was a top pick. He was a top pick. Got drafted to the Pistons. This year he got traded to the Bulls. His mom was in the WNBA. I think his mom coaches Notre Dame. Oh shit, for real. I think so. Alright, yeah, so he's been going off, man. It started with some LGBTQ. Yes, he made some derogatory comments. Not even derogatory comments. He just made some, I guess what the Bulls would say, or some anti that community comments.
SPEAKER_10Okay.
SPEAKER_12He gets waived. And then this is the first I seen, and I was like, yo, what's up with your man? Cause that was your dog. And quick, quick disclaimer that that's that was my guy, and his mom is the coach of Notre Dame. Okay. Um yeah, Jaden Ivy was nice. Like Chris said, he was my guy. We're gonna play this.
SPEAKER_11Those are my my family members betraying uh because because of what I spoke. The truth. Saying that I'm losing my mind, saying that I'm crazy. These are my own family members. My blood. Man, he's psycho. He's this, he's that. Those are my own household. That's that's why that's why uh my my wife in here and she not even texting me.
SPEAKER_12That kind of got me. You watching his demise on live and you can't you ain't gonna answer his calls and hit the ball back. Like what's that about?
SPEAKER_10He seemed like he don't listen.
SPEAKER_12Right, he might not listen, but he definitely needs to be told what to do.
SPEAKER_10Alright, I'm gonna play this video. Just to put try to put all this together so we can speak on it fully.
SPEAKER_11That's why you got Steph Curry, and he he not even surrendered, and y'all believe he's a Christian. Y'all believe he's a Christian because he he wrote Philippians 4 13. Y'all think he's a Christian.
SPEAKER_03Why didn't he just walk out of my clip the video call?
SPEAKER_11But he's cursing just like the world.
SPEAKER_03We are not almost ready to go something like your speech passing or speaking. Friendship with the world is empathy with God.
SPEAKER_11He's friendship with the world. He don't know Jesus, and I pray he comes to the truth. That him and his family will be saved in Jesus' name. Because all that stuff is not gonna matter on judgment day. All them rings he got.
SPEAKER_10We know that though.
SPEAKER_11All them rings uh uh LeBron got, all them rings Michael Jordan got.
SPEAKER_12That's why you guys are. Yeah, like you said, we know that, and I'm sure them people will be judged based off the character of people they are, and as far as we know, they'll be okay. Yeah, and even if they're not, it ain't my business. That part. This is where Jaden Ivey lost me, he could have made all them points without mentioning other people he feels like ain't this or is this or that. And just like I was telling my man on the gram, you don't know what these people are going through. Where these people are gonna end up when they die. You don't know. We don't get the luxury of knowing that. We only get the luxury of believing what's gonna happen. That's it. That's why I don't like what Jaden and Ivy did. And for everybody who are Christians, or you know, if you are a Christian, I do believe how you go about things matter, and I don't say that to be lighter on people, because that's just not my personality. But I'm not Jesus, but I have an idea in my head, and I could be completely wrong. If Jesus was to come down and talk to Steph Curry or talk to Jaden Ivey, I think he would tell Jaden Ivy chill. You know what I mean? I don't know what he would say to Steph Curry based off of what Jaden Ivey's saying. That's what I don't know. I don't think he would be like, yeah, Jaden Ivey, you're doing perfect, my son. I don't know if he would say that. I don't know if it's right or cast in stone. Yeah, I don't know what gay people struggle with or deal with to really be like, oh, this is terribly wrong. I can't put that over or under what I do that I know is wrong. I want to be like, ew, that's net that's wrong. I swear to God I do, Chris. Gay is nasty, but it's I I really don't have nothing to do with that lifestyle. And I'll let you speak in a moment. And one more point I want to make to anybody listening. It's easy to speak on a struggle you don't deal with. For example, I don't know what it's like to come in a room full of men and get aroused. I have no idea what that's like. I know I woke up one day, I was born, my consciousness came, and I liked women. Didn't even choose to like them. I just like them, I love them so much. I love it. That's like me blocking that off forever. I can't do that. Even if I could. I'm about to say how I can't speak to the person who has to do that, whether it's a man, whether you know what I mean? If it ain't no kids or nothing like that, I can't speak on it. If it's consensual adults, even if it's two men, two women, I cannot speak on that struggle. It gets weird. I like women too much. And who's to say it's a struggle? For them, they just live in their life. They think it just as natural as it is for you, it could be as natural for them to like whoever. Who the fuck is to say it's a struggle? People the struggle might be the opposite for them. Because of how society looks upon them and whatever they got going on. And they'll have their day. Just like I'm gonna have mine, just like Jaden Ivey's gonna have his, just like Steph Curry's gonna have his, everybody's gonna have their day. I know what he's standing on, and we do have to watch out because it's not as if the people are disagreeing with him. A lot of comments I'm seeing, they're backing him. They're saying freedom of speech, all he said was this, da da da. And then there's some comments saying, yo, this looks like religious psychosis, looks like mental health. I'm not really seeing the comments that's saying he's wrong. Right. Not seeing those. It could be my algorithm. Are you seeing them, Chris? I haven't seen them. The only thing I'm just a switch, the only thing I'm saying is you can't speak on the niggas you were speaking on and thinking it's gonna fly and get back to where you want to be. That's the only that's more or less the conversation I'm seeing. Like you said, ain't nobody saying he's wrong. Ain't nobody saying he shouldn't have spoke out if this how you stay, if this how you feel, but it's the names you brought up into this situation. You can't be mentioning Steph Curry and LeBron and Anthony Edwards, the faces of the league, and think your job standing is gonna be okay. Yeah, I don't, I don't, I don't deal with those struggles to speak on those struggles. Like, I don't know what it's like to be addicted to heroin or anything like that. I can like I said, I can tell somebody, yo, that's bad, but once they addict it, I don't I don't know where to go. Just like I like to eat, just like I like to smoke weed, and I feel like those things are better or more a little morally like acceptable, but yeah. Still wrong. I'm wrong under under the definitions of following Christianity, all of it's wrong. Spend more time focusing on you instead of worrying about if the next man getting in. How many lives you gonna like like what would it be for you to save a thousand souls and just to be in hell? Just for you not just for your soul not to be saved. Yeah. You saved a thousand lives. Gotta be happy. You won't. So that's what I think. I could be wrong. I don't want to just sit and act like I know. Now, let's play what he said about Anthony Edwards.
SPEAKER_11So Anthony, I just saw a video. Anthony Edwards had said some derogatory thing to some some male doing uh he he had called I I don't even think it was initially like I I can't remember vividly what the situation was, but he called somebody a derogatory word. Right. He called them uh the F word, but like um Oh yeah, uh yeah, so so he was he was like portraying that that person was was was gay, basically, right? And so I believe the NBA fined him for it, right? But he said he said those things, right? And they fined him for it. And so how how is it that he said something detrimental and and uh uh basically hypocritical judgment because he's not a Christian.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's derogatory, it's it's like a slur almost for homosexuals. That's right. That you if you use that word against them, they're gonna be offended by it. Right.
SPEAKER_11He got fined. He didn't get kicked out the league, he didn't get waived, right? But but it's just wonder why he's the best player on their team, right? Exactly, exactly. Because he's the best player, he makes them money. Right? I'm injured. I'm not I'm not on the I'm not I'm injured and I'm speaking the truth. It's all it's all money involved into that. That's why they don't they that's why he's still playing. That's why that's why he's they're not gonna waive him. He's making the Timberwolves money. Everyone goes to pay to watch Anthony Edwards.
SPEAKER_12Yes, they do. Now, just a right I got a question for you, Chris. Go ahead. Why do you think they didn't kick Anthony Edwards out the league? Oh, for all the reasons he said. Everything he said, he was right there. And I just wanted to speak on people trying to say he's crazy or he's trying to take it to he used his words very carefully there. He might not be the most articulate on getting his point across, but everything he said was very clear thought, very thought out. I'm gonna use my words correctly. I'm not even gonna say the word Anthony Edwards said, I'm gonna try to dance around like y'all know what, but like very PC, very media training, very, very uh clear-headed, clear-minded, and in his thought, and very uh precise use of words. So I can't sit here and say he's crazy or he trying to push it too far because if it was that, he would have blacked right there. Yeah, he would have had every reason to black right there, especially already knowing what happened to him. He's already out the league. It's already it's already looking like his career is possibly over. Yeah. Which is crazy to say. And then we'll get to some of the other names.
SPEAKER_10He only averaged like two points.
SPEAKER_12This yeah, this year. I mean, he wasn't he was he wasn't a terrible player, dog. We know we know worse players in the league than Jaden Odd. No, he was not terrible at all. So I I don't I don't like the the fact that his career might be taking this turn, but just like even dog, even you know it, bro. There is a hierarchy in this league. Know your place, bro. You're not Anthony Edwards, you're not one of the you just can't go out here saying anything, even if your message is the right message. You gotta fuck there's a way to do it, bro. I uh and I disagree, Chris. You can say whatever you want, but like I've been seeing all across the internet, doesn't absolve you from consequences of the right. So you gotta live with your consequences. I'll live with it. As it sounds like he's not he wasn't able to do he's not he's not uh accepting of his consequences here.
SPEAKER_10And and and let me put some respect on his name rookie year 16.3 points. Next year, 15.4 points, next year, 17.6 points.
SPEAKER_12Come on, man. And then yeah, he he he he's pretty solid. He's a good player. Yeah, yeah. I don't know if this was uh to the level to where he should be losing his job. I don't know. I don't see that. I think it's kind of fucked up, but there is a hierarchy, especially in the league. And there's another, and just like me and Chris was talking about off. The pod.
SPEAKER_10There's another way you can go about it. We've seen others speak, like go about it a different way.
SPEAKER_12Like there's a player called AJ Griffin. He went the Duke. He was one of them ones. He was a good player.
SPEAKER_10Would have gotten to that second contract for sure.
SPEAKER_12But again, he was willing to accept his consequences. His consequences was, yo, I'm taking this stand and I'm out of here because this doesn't serve my purpose. It don't mix. It don't serve me. So I'm out. I'm cool. I made some money. I'm going to do the best. I'm going to do what I think is the best thing to do with this money I made. And I'm going to go spread the word I got it. Whatever AJ Griffin is off doing. Shout out to him. And I respect that. Exactly. Shout out to him. He didn't condemn a bunch of other people. He just went about his way. He ain't speak bad on nobody on with his time there. He had his experience. Yo, that's not for me. That's not my calling, so to speak. I'm going to take whatever I earned here and I'm out. I'm going to call it. I'm done. I'm done. Lived, lived with it. And then another example, Jonathan Isaac. Jonathan Isaac. A player who was able to say and do all the right things and still in the NBA today. And numbers look nothing like Jaden Ivy.
SPEAKER_10He's the one that averaged two points. It was him when we picked it up.
SPEAKER_12Numbers look nothing like Jaden Ivy numbers. But it was able to do the right thing, say the right things, I guess, whatever, whatever his case may be, because if it was up to me, he'd be out of here. Office performance alone. Nothing to do with his beliefs. Office performance. He's not cut out to be, again, drafted in the same position. A lottery pick.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_12Like all of these players have they have a similar path, so to speak.
SPEAKER_10Trajectory. Trajectory.
SPEAKER_12Trajectory. And maybe even a path for as far as their calling and what they what they feel they were put here to do. But they all just took that fork in the road. Everyone, one went left, one kept it straight, one went right. And this is I guess this is the the fallout for each of them and what it looks like. I'm Jonathan Eisenga. I'm Jonathan Eisenhock. Yeah, because I don't know, just and who do I know? I don't know who Jaden Ivey helped with his words.
SPEAKER_10If you believe, you believe.
SPEAKER_12Right. Like you said, nobody's saying he's wrong, but I think the people who always believed his sentiment are the people that's speaking out loudest. I think some people are the people who didn't are just scrolling past because he just But this is my thing. Don't partake, don't complain about the way the world is. It's the way it is. But you but you don't have to partake in all of this. So be AJ. I'm saying be you and do the things that you feel like is right. Nobody made you play basketball. Nobody made like you don't have to do none of this stuff. You didn't have to get on your phone to say anything. You did all of this stuff because you wanted to. It's like when people do things and say, God told me to do it. And when when are you gonna take some accountability? Yeah, bro. You could and he does seem he seems to me as a youngin' who just found out some information. Like he he's having a personal awakening, and he wants us to know all of this is bad. But I think I think at the point where especially where he's at, I think um I think most people already know that and they lived and picked what they decision already, bro. And maybe you just got to it a little later in life because he's not super young. He's 24, 25. Right.
SPEAKER_10So 24. He turned 24 February like 19th.
SPEAKER_12All right, so even you're you're I would think now you're definitely but becoming a grown man. You know what I mean? Like, and you got some money now, so he keeps every dollar of his$10 million contract. He definitely gets his bread for the definitely for the rest of the year. Shout outs to him, yeah. So I think he's just becoming a man, and like you said, he wants he he's just going about it. Like you said, he got some information, it probably scared him off, so he thinks he gotta tell the world, like, oh shit, I was lost, and now I'm Kyrie did the same thing needs to know. Kyrie did the same thing. I ain't black, I'm Indian, Native America. All right, bro. We know we watch Hidden Colors. Yeah, we know Tariq Nasheed. So, yeah, man. Shout out at the end of the day, shout out to Jaden Ivey. And whatever you feel as though you go serve your purpose, bro. I hate that if you didn't feel as though losing your NBA job was part of that, I hate that that part's happening to you. But just go serve your purpose, bro. And one more thing. What we not gonna do is judge Steph Curry because I think Steph Curry forget ranks, he promotes Jesus a lot. That's what I that's why I said what I said. I think these people, as far as we know, again, we are the outside, we are on the outside looking in. We don't know none of these people personally. But as far as we know, people like Steph, people like LeBron. I can't throw LeBron in the stain bracket as Steph. Because LeBron be doing stuff like hanging out with Drake and bitches be ass clapping. You've never heard of Steph Curry doing anything that goes against a Christian lifestyle. Yeah, a certain level. Except playing in the NBA. That's all y'all got on him. And and not speaking out. Like he didn't he doesn't speak, like I think he was like pro uh, like I think he was for abortion, and you know, he's pro-LGBT.
SPEAKER_10So people feel like he's not a Christian because of that.
SPEAKER_12But as far as everything else. Look, again, I don't know these people. They seem like they're good people. Uh ain't no better than me. So there's Epstein and then there's Steph Curry. It's two different, it's two different skills for me. And I could be wrong, but I I won't find out in this life. Hopefully, I'm on the right side of the next life to find out. Right. This is back to believing what you want to believe, right? We back to that. Yeah, just that fast. Don't try to convince me. I know where I'm going. Big homie.
SPEAKER_10Shoutouts to uh Jadenavi, though. Real shit. I ain't mad at him. Just stop speaking on other men and where they're going and if they true believers or this and that, because you don't know, bro. You just got into you just got deep into your faith. Alright, um, let's go here, man. Let's go here. Why not?
SPEAKER_02Let it cut and run through the ball better than this guy. Get it in the boost, members are ahead, boozer. That ball completely and stolen from Mullights. Two seconds, Mulligan's tosses it up. Let's go! We're board three! Yukon goes and trunk.
SPEAKER_10So, Chris, you want you you got it? You can put your own twist on it, your own narrative to it.
SPEAKER_12I don't think don't trust him. This Saturday in the Elite Eight matchup, Duke played Yukon. Duke might have been two and a half, three-point favorite. Yeah. Duke had the game in the bag. What you just heard was them selling the bag and selling the national championship. Now, because they sold the national championship, this may be the last time you ever get to see the boozer brothers play together ever. It's over for that. To nobody's fault but a boozer brother. And not the good one. They're both good. One's better, but we're not going to disrespect Caden simply because he fucked up.
SPEAKER_10He took accountability immediately after the game. Chris called me sick like he lost his dog.
SPEAKER_12Because that's exactly how I felt, bro. You couldn't tell me we wasn't going to the final four, bro. Couldn't tell me this wasn't our year, bro. Everything. We had a 19-point lead in that game. Do you know that? Up 15 at the half. We extended that lead to 19 early in the second half. Up five with under a minute. Like it got, I don't, oh my God, bro.
SPEAKER_10UConn three out of four, final fours.
SPEAKER_12Bro. And this is what I'm saying. Watching that game as our demise is taking place, but I still have hope. I'm like, yo, come on, we got this. We alright, man. And we're gonna finish this. We good. We up 11. Yeah. We up seven. They start saying dumb ass stats. Oh, the last four times Yukon's been in the Sweet 16, they haven't lost after that. So if they get here, they win it all. Yo, bro, what the fuck that mean? Well, we up 11. Yeah, yo. Why are you saying shit like that? That don't matter right now. Put the bad juju right on this shit. Oh, the last time a number one seed had a double digit lead at the half, there are 154 and up. Yo, bro, what are we doing here? Just let the O continue. Why are we bringing this type of stuff up? 155. If it was going like that, we'd never know that stat to this day. Right. Right. Why are y'all saying, Grand Hill, you sitting there letting these niggas say that? Smack the shit out of Ian Raffle for saying some of this dumb shit, bro. But to his defense, he was 100% in shock. Grand Hill, man. He was like, he didn't know what the Class Act, bro. What can I say, man? He never, yeah, he's Grant Hill, man. Any one national championship score. So I can't, I can't be mad at him too much, but man, I was just so sick when this shit happened, bro. Like I told you, bro, I had a Nike cart with the Duke shorts and a fire hoodie ready to go. Final four weekend. I'm gonna kill these niggas with this shit, bro. Man, I deleted that shit so fast. I'm happy they lost. This fuck nigga got an outfit for the win.
SPEAKER_10You ain't deserve to wear that shit, man. That shit sounds crazy.
SPEAKER_12But I support my teams when we win. Support them still. You could have wore the outfits still. Not while we not playing. I go, I'll get it again for next next season. A hoodie too far. I'm gonna get that hoodie. But I'm digging, they can't get my money right now. Just like when the Eagles lose. I don't buy no Eagles gear. You don't buy no Eagles gear today. When they lose, it's over till next year. And when that's with any of my teams. The minute we are out of contention for the championship, yo, bro, I'm done supporting. I'm good. It's championship or bust over here. All sports.
SPEAKER_10I agree with that.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, man. He's gonna get my money for losing. I'm fake loyal. I was with Duke till they lost. And then they lost.
unknownAnd then they fucking lost.
SPEAKER_12And they had a bomb squad. They got like three, maybe four potential NBA players. Not even NBA players. They got four, maybe four lottery picks. Not not definitely first rounders. Yeah. Can your man played himself out of the lottery? Who? Slim. Ain't his Instagram name Mr. Put a Hand Up? That was one of his. Yeah, and he ain't put a hand up on that last shot, bro. He looked him dead in the eyes. No hand up, no nothing. And that white boy drilled that shot, bro. Oh, yeah. Nah. Alright, so uh on that shout out to you, Khan. That was a great ending play. They did everything perfect. I fucking hate they coach too. Dan Hurley, I don't like that nigga. Yo, the headbutt. What's that about, bro? You just point three jacket hanging off the shoulder. You forehead to forehead, nose to nose with the ref. Yo, bro. Yo, these niggas. You want the head up. What? These niggas had me tight, but that was a great fucking play, great execution down the stretch, bro. How didn't he get the tech? He should have got that tech, Chris. You ain't gotta tell me, bro. We should have free though. We at least go to overtime. He said, I wish you fucking would technique. That's what he was. You fucking know what is me, nigga. Like, yo, he got his shit off in that moment. Yo, tried to cheat me. He got his shit off. He felt like he felt like they was getting cheated. That's how he felt. Yeah, I don't know why. It was a great game. It was a good game. It was a good game. Niggas definitely sold the bag. I'm mad at my team for that. Uh last minute evaluations on Cam. How do you feel about him? Yo, it's crazy because the conversation we had before the game is not how I felt leaving the game. I was I was I ain't gonna lie, I was getting a little upset with Cam for not playing through contact, not playing physical enough, the pump fake shits that we talked about. But in that game, he he looked dominant. Dogged.
SPEAKER_10He was dogging shit.
SPEAKER_12He looked dominant, bro. And that's like That's why you gotta watch what you say about him. You've been saying that. You've been saying that. I just can't put it, I can't fully evaluate it. And I've been living and dying with the results, and even lately the results wasn't enough. So I started to I started the waiver, but you'll live with it when he got 26. Yeah, and it looked like yeah. Hitting threes too? He'll hit a three on you. Take a ball, bro.
SPEAKER_10He'll hit a three. Uh I did skip over.
SPEAKER_12Um you want to talk about uh Russell? A little bit. I mean, we can a little man. Lil Russell or J. Cole for. Oh man, we're gonna fire J. Cole ass up. Okay. So J. Cole's been going around on a little interview, media tour, media tour.
SPEAKER_10Everything he said to me was okay. And when I say okay, feel how you want to feel, bro.
SPEAKER_12Your opinion. Good job, bro. Cool story, bro. So we're gonna shit off. We liked about this shit first. Because the only thing I really liked about this is he he pulled up on Cam. Like he was supposed to.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I like I like that. I like, and he gave Cam the interview I feel like Cam was looking for.
SPEAKER_12And he was supposed to get uh I like the little the little pre-skit, whatever that they put together before the interview. That was dope. All that shit was fucking so that was my highlight of everything the bull had to, what he got off so far in these interviews. I didn't like nothing. I'm just saying I didn't dislike anything strongly, but this one and this clip I'm about to play, all it does is just prove what I've always thought about J. Cole. And disprove every single way I felt about the boy. He did just all right, go ahead.
SPEAKER_01But you said something in the beginning, how like on songs like how I say I'm the best on songs. It's like ask me in real life, do I think I'm the best rapper alive? Do you think you're the best rapper alive? Bro, it's a nigga named Black Thought that exists. It's a nigga named Lupe Fiasco that exists. It's niggas that on any given day, even my peers, a Drake or a Kendrick, where it's like, yo, I know on any given day I can show up to the studio and give these niggas 80. But I know they can show up on any day in the studio and give me 80. And I might only have 30. Like, so if I'm if I'm taking on a rap persona, like when I'm rapping, of course, that's that's what I like to, that's how I like to rap. And guess what? Sometimes I hit the mark and I say shit and I spit a verse that really might have you believe in that shit. But if you ask me in real life, do I walk around like I'm the best rapper alive? No, nigga. Like I'm the best ever. No. But when I put on that motherfucking uh uh cape, like that's how I try to attack shit. And have there been things and moments and verses where I'm writing this shit and I'm like, I know niggas not fucking with this. Absolutely. But in reality, do I do I do I walk around this earth like there's no nigga better than me in real life? Like I can't get in the studio with black thought and he just give me 90. You know what I mean? And I'm sitting there like, I got 25 for you. Or any one of these amazing rappers, but I think people hear me say it because they don't know me for real. Right. They hear me say it in a verse so much when I have on the cape. It sounds convincing like a monster. It sounds defensive because I'm really doing that shit. Like, man, he thinks he Yeah, nigga.
SPEAKER_12No, you think Yeah, no, you think. See, Chris, he's talking to you. No, you think he's one of the best. Yeah, because that's what you told me, and that's the persona you coming across. If you never felt that way, why are them words coming out of your mouth? I like to believe this. Is this even before your raps, before I gotta like, I gotta believe you as a person. I'm not you can't vanilla ice and get out of here with all that, bro. Like, you can't, I I gotta believe in whatever your your product. And if you don't believe in your product, if you're not standing by everything you say behind your product, keep it pushing, bro. Because any of them people that you named, they believe that they're the best in the world. They're they believe that right there ain't nobody better than them. Period. They don't care about it. Or they think Jay-Z's the best, and they don't care about oh, even if you come in there and get your shit off and they have 30. I'm still better. Yeah, exactly. Oh shit, every dog has his day. Look, that nigga got his shit off today. But I bet he can't come back and do it tomorrow. That's how they're gonna feel his album's not hotter than mine, his legacy not over mine. Oh man, J. Cole, bro, you let me down, bro. We just had an argument about this when the clue tapes came out. I and I said I like I really thought, nah, like he felt like, yo, fuck all that shit y'all saying. I'm still him, and maybe you might feel that way, but you don't feel that way. So how are we as fans supposed to feel that? How are your fans who people who felt this way about you supposed to go out and continue to fight the good fight behind your name if you don't even feel that way?
SPEAKER_10And not to sound crazy or like I know this or know that, but I've always said he raps like he don't believe what he's saying.
SPEAKER_12And I've said that. I said he don't think that he's up there with Kendrick and Cole, and you can tell, I mean, with Kendrick and Drake, and you could tell by how he acts when he's around them. He's been saying a thing. I've seen Drake with the big busky chains. And this is ten years ago him saying this. Even Ho, Drake, give him one. Yeah, just get this man one, yo, because he don't get it. He don't believe the stuff he's saying.
SPEAKER_10And whether you think Kendrick's the best, Jay-Z's the best, or Drake's the best, I guarantee you they think they're the best.
SPEAKER_12That's it. And one more thing, he uses persona like it's a street persona. You claiming to be the best was never a persona until you just said it. I never knew that was a rap persona. Like I really thought the people who said it really at one point thought they were the best. I've never heard just anybody say it. No, because nobody else has ever said that. Anyone who's ever said they didn't know. Was one of their ones. Every time that they're asked, they'll tell you, yo, whoever. You could be like, oh, you can ask any of them. You think you're better than Hove? The actual best? Well, good. But I could get them. That's what they'll tell you. I can get them.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_12Because they really truly in their mind believe that. Because that has to be the thing when you're pushing that product.
SPEAKER_10Are they delusional or is Jake Cole?
SPEAKER_12Every nigga, just like my my bear, real quick. Just like everybody, every nigga in the NBA know. Think, yo, give me my that opportunity. I I can do X, Y, and Z. I can be, I can be bull. I can be the best nigga on this team if I got to shoot 20 shots a game. Everybody in the NBA thinks that. There's nobody in the NBA that don't think that they that they wanted them ones.
SPEAKER_10Right, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_12Given that opportunity that they wouldn't be one of them. They may not think they are LeBron, but they definitely think, man, I'd be in a way better position. I'll be I could be Tyler Hero.
SPEAKER_10They think like that.
SPEAKER_12You know what I'm saying? So yeah. If you don't believe you're the best in your field, bro, just go be another. And what hurts, what hurts me as a hip-hop fan is you were actually skilled enough to truly believe it and not be looked at as delusional. You could have said it and got it at all. Like you never had to like what? I don't get it, bro. That's what I'm saying. What are your fans supposed to do now? How are they supposed to champion behind Cole is my favorite? He the best. I'm if a J. Cole fan comes and say that to me right now, he don't even believe he's the best. How can you believe that? So you telling me you didn't think you were one of the best rappers in the world, like or the best in the world at the time, J. Cole, when you rapped on Johnny P. That joint with Betty the Butcher? Oh, Johnny P. Caddy Lap. You telling me you when you got the unpense, you didn't think, yo, I am top five dead or alive. It's no way I can pen that and think I'm not him. On the night I was born. Rain was God was watching. So I'm saying some and some, yeah, because bro, we believed it because some of the shit that you said was so far that it was believable. I was with Chris the first day we ever heard you. The first day our man said, yo, there's a dude out. It's 2009, 2008. He up there with Drake. We looked at him. Nigga, shut up. Ain't nobody fucking with Drake. Niggas put that. What was that take? Friday night? No, that was way later. The warm-up.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_12Put that warm-up on. First listen. Oh, yeah. He got a chance. He got a chance to be one of them ones. And at that point, we made you equal to Drake. From that point, we didn't care that you wasn't all gaudy and did all the stuff other people did. We said, oh, he went to college. Of course this is going to play out different. Exactly. Of course this gonna It's gonna look a little different. He got a little different perspective on life. Then you chill, then you was the guy to us. Oh, he keeps going platinum, no features. You was that guy to us. Then after that, you sat back, you chilled a little bit, you got Dreamville together. We said, oh shit. He got some people, then you chilled, then you said, matter of fact, I'm about to destroy every feature that comes my way for the next three, four years. You did all of that. We said, damn, damn, ain't nobody fucking with him. Drake's nice, Kendrick's nice, but he's up there. This these are the three, these are the three ones. Kobe, Mike, Braun. We was looking at you like that. Pick one. You could be anyone. We was good with you being anyone. And that first person shooter and all that stuff happened. Then you apologize. Then you chilled out for a couple years, then drop your album. Then you pop back out talking straight. Bullshit. Now you tell us you never thought you was the best after I do that whole timeline. Yeah, timeline was crazy. Timeline was crazy. Didn't even start off telling y'all, oh, I got the rapper's dream in 2008. I got signed by Jay Z. I am Rock Nation's first artist. They cleared the building out when I pulled up. Here, Marie. This one, everybody gotta go. We're rebranding this. He's the one. You ruined the perfect rap story. You ruined the perfect rap story. And Jay-Z your album. He don't listen to it the first time he ever sees you. Year and a half later, two years, he's knocking on your door to sign you. Come on, man. Remember he even had the t-shirt on outside of, I think it was even um doll in the Dream. Nah. Uh what's uh what's Shorty's name that dude dancing? Iman Shamper old girl.
SPEAKER_10Tiana Taylor.
SPEAKER_12Tiana Taylor had the sweet 16 party. I think he was out there with the produce for Jay-Z or Die Trying T-shirt. That was one of the first. She was a young boy having a party. On MTV. The Super Sweet 16 joint. Sweet 16? Yeah. That was the first time we ever seen go. Yeah, the produce for Jay-Z or Die Trying T-shirt on. Side note, they hit her dad though. Her dad? Who? Tiana Taylor? Yeah, why happened to you? Oh, they did an amazing job with her and her. They hid her dad? Think about it, Chris. I never seen him. Is that what you're saying? You did see him. Who is he? Name one sweet 16 episode where they don't show the dad and say what the dad does. He was a music exec or something. Like he was doing something in the music industry already. I don't remember. I had to revisit. I don't remember. For sure. I'll never forget that. Every time I seen her project through life, I always thought not things were handed to her because at this point, she's done done too much. But it took me for her to put out the album with Kanye for me to be like, all right, she's earned her keep. Gotcha. The first years ago. Um, I think it was Concrete Rose or something like that? Nah, I think it's like four got like an IV on it or something like that. But it's Tiana Taylor's first album with good music. That's when I said, oh no, she got talent. Gotcha. At this point, 10 years later, it's over. But her dad is somebody. Enough money to be on that show and throw her at one of the craziest part, yeah.
SPEAKER_10But back to the back to the main point.
SPEAKER_12Who's we talking about? I forgot. Cole. Cole, yeah, bro. I'm sorry, bro. I can't. It's over, man. I can't. It's over. And anybody listening to this pod, you know we big Kendrick fans. And big Jay-Z fans because them they believe. They know. And Drake. I'm leaving out of this.
SPEAKER_10And Drake, I'm not gonna leave Drake out of that.
SPEAKER_12I'm not gonna leave Drake out of that. Can't, because these guys really believe they're the best. And Drake really, his pen is incredible, bro. His pen is up there with Kendrick's. Like I've been telling y'all, they are equal level rappers. Y'all just judging them off of the style. Jaquil Marshall is only judging them off of how the battle went. That's all. That's all. That's it. Because, like you said, their pen, the level of their pen didn't change. Artistry, their artistry is next level. As far as everything outside of who won the battle, everything kind of went up in their in the in their favor of sliders during the battle. They played every card the right way. It's just you were battling somebody who whom just had more spades, or whatever you want, however you want to call it. You had your day, Drake. That's it. You just had your day that day on a bad day, the wrong day.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_12Kendrick, it was Kendrick's day.
SPEAKER_10But nah, Drake, Drake, yeah, now that you said that, I really gotta, I gotta stop leaving him out of shit because he lost the battle.
SPEAKER_12That bothered me. I hated the way he lost that battle. Because that's that is a that is part. But again, bro, when you battle somebody who's he ain't lose no battle to Lil' Fucketyfucker, whoever you want. He lost the battle to one of them ones. And Drake, to be honest, if you ever hear this, no glaze. The first time I ever spoke on this shit, I didn't, I was scared for you. Simply because I knew who you were dealing with. Right. Chris was scared for you too. Chris was more happy than anything because people were sleeping on Kendrick too much. Like he was child. Yeah. Yeah, I didn't want that. I didn't want this to play out the way it happened for you. But we even spoke on that on the Kendrick on the Kendrick Bias episode. We was like, yo, if this would have gone the other way. Oh my God. It wouldn't have taken for as long as us to do something like that. Like GNX wouldn't even have hit the save. It would have never existed. Would have never existed. So again, bro, we we didn't have no real. I mean, it just it just played out the way it played out. And Cole, bro, you are a very bad casualty of war at this at this point, bro. Like, golly. Now it's like I want Iceman to be hot. I don't know why. Oh my god. I hope Iceman everything. I know it's gonna be hot. Drake Corps fans want to. I'm because I'm a Drake Corps fan, but I'm not a newer Drake Corps fan. I'm not like Um We're 2008. Yeah, it's a 2015 Drake fans. But like I said, if it's everything that the Drake stands wanted to be, 10 out of 10, I'll be happy for them. Not gonna change my opinion from two years ago. I'm still gonna think they're equal level artists, but I really want to see, like, I really need to see Drake back in these streets. And not because there's a lack of anything for me, because bro, I'm 34, bro. I have a catalog of music in my head that'll keep me good for the rest of my life. I just want him to win. Cause bro, it's getting weird. Yo, it's getting weird. Just like uh anytime certain people are missing or going for something for too long, shit just don't feel the same. And you're like, damn, what was it? And really, it literally just be the presence of that person or somebody who could feel the shoes of that person and bring that feeling back. And right now, we ain't found nobody to do that. And they calling that Drake. I know I didn't get into it, even though it's blasphemous because Party is my man's. But the Drake and Party album classic. It's giving out classic vibes. Like there is a song like that's something that joint came out like a year ago. Something like that. It's still flowing through. I think, I mean you gonna see you gonna see in time, what I'm saying. Yeah, no, I come on. Like you said, we got a cat, I got a catalog of Drake music that I feel that came out years before that, that I still feel this way about that. Certain people don't really that they're not put on to or cut caught on to yet. That no, I'm just making the point of suppression. Like he was suppressed a little bit, but they couldn't even suppress him. So like his the last thing he made is still that to the people who actually listen. I didn't even who listen to the whole thing. I haven't heard nobody say it was whack. Right. I didn't tap in the way it would have been if before. But uh I'm ready. I was just about to say, I'm ready to take I'm ready for Iceman to do that again, no? Because we didn't even listen to Bully. And I heard there's some. I'm heard, I'm hearing is that some healing. I'm hearing is that but is it is it because it just See, and this is what we gonna we can't do this because yeah to speak on it and have no idea what it sounds like is it is it we have we not heard it because of because it's yeah and how people feel about yay right now, and and look, man, I don't really get into everything Kanye, bro. I love the music. Lately, the music hasn't been as good as it's been prior, so I didn't I didn't feel the need, but this time around, I'm I'm kinda here. Uh uh might be on there. Me personally, I cut him off when I found out he gave his cousin Felicio.
SPEAKER_10He hasn't been right with me since then. That's just me.
SPEAKER_12I forgive him, I guess, even though he didn't do nothing to me, but I'm just saying I'll give Bully a listen. That's crazy because what if that was his struggle? You can't you can't judge his struggle. I'm not I'm not saying people are or ain't nothing. I'm I'm I'm sinning right now by speaking on him. I'm sinning right now. I'm about to sin again.
SPEAKER_04It's the truth.
SPEAKER_10Alright, so yeah, J. Cole, uh fuck out of here. Um yeah, straight fuck out of here. I think we should go to MBA right now. MVP.
SPEAKER_12This MVP award has been liter Oh wait.
SPEAKER_10Before MVP. Before MVP, real quick. We'll make this quick.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_06I don't understand how you can have a conversation about me and state facts when you're not as good as me. Pat Bev came out and just talked about me and James. Another conversation with me and James. Hey, James Harden is a better player than Dwayne Wade. Pat just came out definitive. He was definitive. James Harden is better than Dwayne Wade. Stop. He was very definitive in his answer. And I was just sitting there like, okay, Pat, where's your what's your facts? Right. To say that someone's better, or just come out and say what I personally like, the style of play that I like to see is X, Y, and Z. Don't you ever fix your mouth to say nobody is better than me when you wasn't better than me. Like you can't do that. Like, we're talking about a better player, you're talking about every aspect of the game of basketball. You know how good I was at a lot of aspects of the game?
SPEAKER_12Everybody, if you got a moment, like a lot of aspects of the game. A lot, a lot, a lot. Damn near everyone. Come on, what are we talking about? Not not damn near. This is a top, these are except three pointers. Okay.
SPEAKER_10Dwayne Way shot 29% from three in his career.
SPEAKER_12Oh, that's nasty. Uh top 75 player all time.
SPEAKER_10Now let's let's hear what Patrick Bever got to say and then put it all together.
SPEAKER_08Right? This shit don't even seem real. So I'm not trying to, and I don't know how the argument switch from is Pat Bea better than Dwayne Wade. That was never the argument to begin with. That was never the argument. My argument, in which I continue to back it up with with with with with hard facts, is James Hart is the top three shooting guard of all time. Dwayne Wade, you're fooled. Okay. You can be fooled. You talk about top five, top six, top ten shooting guards. You're the only probably top ten shooting guard who didn't shoot 30% from the three career-wise. You shot 29%. Russell Russbrook, we make names about him. He shot 31. Andre Drummond shot 31. You shot 29. And it's not a disc. I think it's a flex. I think that for you to even be considered top five, top three shooting guards of all time without having a 30 click is a flex. Like a guard who can't shoot and still can be like that legendary, that historic is a flex. It's a flex. But the game has evolved. James Harden did play against better players than you played against. Can't flex again. Right? That's a that's also a fact.
SPEAKER_10That's not a fact. It's not like we're grabbing a player from the 90s.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, no, at all. At all. Yeah, no. Tim Duncan. I'm about to say, even he even caught he even caught the tail end of them niggas from the 90s, bro. He gotta go ahead with that part. I was with him, not even and again, like I said, I am on Patrick Beverly's side of this argument. I believe James Harden is a better player than Dwayne Wade. Is it as definitive as Patrick Beverly's trying to make it? No, I don't really believe that. You can have that argument every day of the week, and both sides will come like at some point you should agree to disagree with the person taking the other side. You should, there should be no, I'm right, you're dead wrong at the end of that argument.
SPEAKER_10Only thing I will say is that the only side you could stamp it on is Dwayne Wade.
SPEAKER_12Because of the championships?
SPEAKER_10No, just how he played the game.
SPEAKER_12There was nothing that he did where you can say there's never through the course of his career where you could be like, he lacks this, he don't do this. There was a little stretch where James Harden was trying to do back taps on defense every play. Like I remember that. That's a fact. And Dwayne Wade's always been a good one. A lock up, blocks. So that's what I'm trying to say. But if you feel like James Harden's better, I'm cool with that. That's what I'm saying. I'm okay with that. You should be able to agree to disagree. Just all right, whatever, you make your point. I'm gonna take my stance. And that's just how that's there. Shouldn't be no, no, I'm fucking dead right, you're dead wrong. I don't, I don't think at the end of the day, at that argument. So I'm on uh Patrick Beverly's side when it comes to that. As far as Dwayne Wade goes, yeah, Patrick Beverly. Really? Like this is one of them things, right message, wrong messenger type of thing. As for me anyway, bro, you're not the guy that should be saying this.
SPEAKER_10And if it is such high praise, why make the different differential differentiation between three and four?
SPEAKER_12Doesn't matter because we know who one and two is. Facts. It's Mike and Kobe. So basically, what you're saying is James Harden is the best shooting guard outside of Mike and Kobe. And D Way's sitting home saying, No, but even if I even if he is, again, I don't want to hear it from you. We No, I feel as though I'm the best. This is that this is back to that conversation. He do, he do, he do. I feel as though I'm the best. He'll try to have the argument against Mike and Kobe and knowing he's dead wrong. Yeah, but he'll he really in his mind of minds might feel that way. And who the fuck is it say he dead wrong when you number three or wherever you fall in that hierarchy? You did it at a high level. You should feel as though you're the best. It's just like when people made Paul Pierce. Right. It's just like when people made Paul Pierce feel crazy for saying he was better than B Wade. And he shouldn't. I did this at a high level. I'm a champion. I've done everything that man's done, I've done. Why shouldn't I feel as though I'm better than him?
SPEAKER_10Right.
SPEAKER_12I don't care about whatever he did it long or whatever, whatever. No, nigga, put him in the gym, me in the gym in our best day, I think I'm gonna bust his ass. That's how they and that's how all of these dudes should feel. Because as as opinionated as I love to be, fucking top 1% of niggas that ever play basketball when it comes to a certain level of skill. Like, for example, me and Chris starting out this podcast journey. If we get in the room with Joe, Rogan, Joe Buddh, and poor minds, I don't think me and Chris should be in that room talking about what our favorite podcast is out of them three. No. And breaking down why Joe is better than Joe Rogan and Joe Rogan is better than poor minds. If they want to have that talk, we should let them have that talk. If they say Quill and Chris, come on, guys. What do y'all think? Even then, we're gonna be like, yo, all great. We love all y'all, bro. We can only tell you who we listen to the most simply because of da da da. But poor minds, we like what you're doing, Joe. You know you the GOAT, Joe. You know you the GOAT. But we wouldn't sit there and just because it's too high of a level of greatness for us as people who either did it or aspiring to do something. I haven't exactly shouldn't speak on certain things or certain levels of things. Just find something else to talk about. Exactly. Find something else to talk about. There's a million things in this world you could talk about, bro. A billion. Anything. The fucking options are limitless. Because even you, you love James Harden, bro. You fuck with James Harden. That's my dog. But you're not going out your way to say, oh, James Harden's better than D-Way. Even though you might believe that. Now you might be like, yo, James Harden had one of the best individual seasons ever. Right. Agreed. Cool. But it just it just gets weird. You don't have to go out your way to again, stop speaking on other people, bro. Patrick Beverly. Even you and you, even you and you're right. You shouldn't feel as though you're the best. But again, you have made it to one of the top 1% of players that ever play basketball. You were in the NBA, you got multiple contracts, bro. You are good within your right. Speak on you versus any other regular, but you don't gotta there's levels. And it's tasteless claim, bro. And it's tasteless when you're making these claims, but you don't think you're better than the person.
SPEAKER_10For example, and I'll tell you the parallel, like Joe Button. The reason why I respect kind of how Joe is kind of PC now with certain artists, is because he's not involved anymore.
SPEAKER_12But before, when he was rapping, he'll say what he wants and then tell you, nigga, I will tear your ass up. Again, that's why it's like Phil as though I'm the best. So when I'm in this, no, not even the best, because Patrick Beverly can never say that. But if Patrick Beverly in his heyday, like let's say DeWay Wade was still in the league and Patrick Beverly, whatever, he like, yo, play me one-on-one. Right. Yeah, that's what that's the difference between what Joe is saying. Joe's not saying Joe Budden wasn't saying I'm one of the best. He's saying, nigga, fight me now. Right. That's a different let's do let's go out and exactly. And now that you're not fighting no more, you're not speaking the same, which I respect that. And now that you're not fighting no more, you should be able to take the step back and realize, yo, I might have been out of my league in some in some of these fights. I didn't deserve to be in the class of some of these people. No matter how I felt in the moment, Joe would tell you, no matter how I felt in the moment, and when I was in that building at Jeff Jam, and certain artists were getting to go, and they wasn't, man, that Joe was hot. They deserved that. Right, right, right, right, right, right. Especially looking back in hindsight. They was doing stuff I wasn't doing. Once you can take that step back because you're not in it no more, you should be able to be like, yo, you should have to put on your objective guy, your objective glasses, and be able to be like, yo, look, this was right for that person, not right for me in that moment. And I think that's what's frustrating to Dwayne Wade on the outside looking in simply because it's like, Pat, you know, you know what we go through as a you know how hard it is. You know, you know how hard it is to be me. To be the level of player I was in the NBA and regard it to what you know how hard that is, nigga. Right. Look at what you had to do just to be you. That little bit of that little bit of you. And and and us the people, people like me and you, we give Patrick Beth all that credit in the world. I know Pat's road to get to the NBA, playing overseas, whatever, everything he had to go through to get to the league. So again, for you to have made it to that top 1% of players that ever pick up a better bro, you're good.
SPEAKER_10And Pat, we never, we never one of the best defenders like that.
SPEAKER_12We never disrespected you.
SPEAKER_10Like we never put you up against nobody else knowing you wasn't a better defender than.
SPEAKER_12Niggas. We never been like, well, Patrick Batman is a better defender than we never did that with you. Yeah, we just respected you being a good defender. It was. We did that with Marcus Smart too. Especially if you a guard defender like Dwayne Wade is. One of them ones. So yeah, bro. And then it's like you throw an other man's name into it like it. Because James Harden said nothing. James Harden has nothing but all high regard for Dwayne Wade and every other shooting guard that played this game. James Harden don't, he might, again, as he should feel as though he one of them ones. That's why he calls himself Uno, because he feels as though he's one of them ones. But he knows there's a history and a hierarchy to this game where even if he again, even if James Harden feels as though he's three, he knows who one and two are. And he'll have that argument, his best day against them players, best day, whatever. But at the end of the day, he know he's not fucking Kobe or Mike. And fuck what niggas is talking about before we get into this MVP conversation. In closing, I'ma just say, when have you seen with your own eyes James Harden actually play the two and not run the whole fucking offense for the last 10, 12, 13 years?
SPEAKER_10He's a point guard.
SPEAKER_11Exactly.
SPEAKER_10He's a point guard by all definitions, by all he's a point guard, bro. Shouldn't even be compared to Dwayne Wade outside of their two guards on the video game.
SPEAKER_12And even then, you move James Harden to the point guard. To the one every 10. You've been doing that for years. Even before they did it in the game. Yeah. Yo, come on, bro. And then in the game, they got flawed to the point where after the second half, they'll bring him in as the point guard. Because they knew what time it was. Winning time. Put that man at the point he needs the ball. Alright, man. Lastly, we're gonna finish this up with the MVP race. One of the weirdest MVP races ever. Facts. Chris feels like Luca should be doing better in the race than where he is right now. So there's four people to look out for. Not four people that can win the award, because I don't think there's four people that can win the award, but these are the four people you have to mention. SGA. Number one. Nicola Jogic, and I'm only naming him because he has three MVPs. Wait up, wait up. Victor Wembayama and Luka Doncic. Now, a case could be made for all. You want to make your case for Luca? Uh it's not even so much uh my case for Luca. I mean Luca's balling. And I'm sorry, not to interrupt, Chris. Just so you know, this season, if the season was the end of that, Luka would have 36 points again.
SPEAKER_10No, no, no, no, no, no. 33. 33. But 33.6.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, but this would be I think one of the top three most efficient years ever by any player to ever walk this earth. I'm just I'm just saying what it is, but keep going. Luca? Yeah, so uh again, my case uh sh isn't even so much for Luca Doncius to maybe even win the award. I mean, what can I say to bull ball, and he got 16 40-point games this year. He lead the league in scoring, 49% from the field, uh, 35 from the three, over 30 something from the three. Um he balled. We win in, we third in the West. Nobody, nobody thought we'd be here. Everybody was looking at us like a play-in team. Y'all dumb. I told y'all this one of the best balls to ever pick up a baseball. Any any team you put him, him on has a chance to win. Put a team with him, LeBron, and Austin Reeves. Come on, what was y'all thinking? This is at the end of the day, I don't care how you feel about these players. This is basketball. They just that good. So seeding, so, so, so you think Oh, we're stamped getting a third seed. So you think Luca should win the MVP if things keep going the way it's going for everybody? No, I don't, like I said, I don't even think he should really win it. Or are we going by fan dual odds too much? That's that's where the problem lies with me, with the odds. Why is Luca plus, do you have it pulled up right now? He's over plus 1,500 for sure. Like, it's like, wait, what? This is where it's getting tricky for me. Last week, Sha was minus a thousand to win it.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_12And Luca was second at plus 900. Now he's third at always plus something crazy, and Vixen second.
SPEAKER_10I'm about to tell you right now, bro. All futures.
SPEAKER_12Oh, yeah. And real quick, get Nicole Jokic out of here, bro. Yes, he is a great player, but he is not no MVP this year. I'm sorry. I don't care his numbers look like winning numbers and great numbers. This team don't win. He's not top three in the West. These dudes we're talking about, they're top three in the West. His team is like fifth or sixth. Shout out to that. He does a lot for his team.
SPEAKER_1027.9, 12.9, and 10.8.
SPEAKER_12If Luca had those numbers, I don't give a fuck what our record would be, especially if we were four or six or five. I don't I don't know what Chris is talking about. Just years ago, niggas discredited Russell Westbrook for doing the same thing. Niggas said his numbers weren't winning numbers, so he he got one MVP. He did it four years in a row. Yeah, but they weren't MVP seasons. It's not like he averaged the one year, because the one year was like 30 point triple double. Okay, but why weren't we? One was like 20. Off of his numbers and averaging a third, a triple-double alone. Why weren't those MVP caliber seasons? Bro, I'm just telling you, there were times where Joker had a triple-double, had the best record in the league and didn't win MVP. That's happened. What in last year? When Joel won. They had the best record in the league? Might have won the chip too. Might have won the chip too. Because I think that's when we stamped and was like, nah, Joker should have definitely been MVP. We didn't want Joel to win it because they flip-flopped the years. Gotcha. Remember the year Joker did everything. They flip-flop the years because they were supposed to give it to Embiid the year before, but they gave it to Joker. Yeah, they usually do that. But as far as this season goes this year, again, I ain't taking nothing away from Joker. He's a great player. It's not like they don't be winning. No, I I can't I can't say that. But I think for the same reasons, they're saying Shah is having the most efficient year ever out of anybody ever. Super Bowl. Uh and the only the only reason this is getting weird is because of the games play thing. It's like these dudes, they still have to play a certain, like nobody could sit the rest of the season and stamped win the MVP. They wouldn't even have reach the 65 game mark. For all three of them, for the top three guys. They gotta continue playing. And there's a thing I was wrong about them being able just to check in and check out. No, you gotta play a certain number of minutes in them games too for them to qualify for the awards. Okay. Okay, I like that. These dudes have to play. Luca can win it then. I don't I don't think that we just they're not gonna surpass either one of them teams, so I don't see them. How many games?
SPEAKER_10You didn't see how many games anybody needed. What? Each player that they could miss, maybe Shy or Joe.
SPEAKER_12Oh no, I don't I don't think they nobody can miss any games. Victor 2. Nobody can miss any games. If they miss one more game, they cook. They gotta play out the year. And Luca doesn't. No, they all do. Luca, Shy, they miss that many games. Yes. They all have to continue to play. So I think that's what it's gonna come down to, the rule. But but this is what I'm saying. If it any other year where that rule is not involved, Shah's the MVP. It doesn't matter. What he's done over this year is crazy. It's crazy. His numbers, his team, they got he would have to be.
SPEAKER_10Alright, alright, alright.
SPEAKER_12This is what I did want to say. When we talk most valuable player, just for us, and most valuable, if we talk most valuable, it has to be Luca. I would think it would have to be Vic. It can't be. Because if you take, if you take all the stars away from the if you take all the best players, like if you take Joker away, let's take Joker out of it. If you take Luca away, if you take Victor Wembayama away, you take Shy away, Lakers are gonna be the worst team. Lakers are gonna get pummeled by whatever's left of those other teams. We still got Braun and AR. I think we're better than the Spurs. Definitely not the Thunder. I think we'll be better than the other thing. I don't think so. I don't think so. I think with Braun and AR, yeah, but then after that, that's where the shit is. Yeah, nah, that's where the shit is short. I think they as far as you take Victor off his team, bro. Give them 30 a pop. I'm saying without without Luca, we can't even score that many points. Braun, and we're not talking about 41 Braun. We're talking about doing 20 points, Braun. We're talking about hit or miss Reeves and the hit be 35, the miss be 20. Right. Not I'm not shitting on him. I'm just saying, where are the rest of the points coming from? I could tell you where the points are coming from with the Spurs. Without because they score without they'll score 125 points with Victor having 19. They're even good without Vic. Their record without Vic is still, they only might have lost like four or five games when he hasn't played. Stefan Castle, Dylan Harbork, Keldon Johnson. Yeah. So that's what I'm saying. When we talk about I don't see them being second in the West, but I see what you I see what you're saying. No, they definitely won't be second in the West, but what would we be without Luca? At least both of them teams will be fighting for a play-in spot, in my opinion. Seven, eight, nine, ten. True. And I think the Thunder would be stamped in the playoffs, too. The Thunder's still stamped in the playoffs. So when we talk most valuable, it gets tricky because when Luka don't play, bro, we almost guaranteed to lose unless we're playing like the Wizards or the Grizzlies. Somebody trash. Trash. Yeah, and as far as that award goes in the NBA, it ain't never really been the most valuable because certain niggas will win the awards. It was always the most valuable when we were growing up. Most valuable. That's what it was when we were growing up. That's the point I'm making. When did it stop being that? When they couldn't give it to LeBron every year. Okay, so that's my point. That's what I'm saying. Like people like that. There's times where there's dudes like that who would win it every year. They should win it every year. No, no if, ands, or buts about it. And when Kobe got like Kobe was supposed to win it, but we was only like the seventh seed when he averaged 35 points. But he was the most valuable player. Without him being on that team. But I will say number one pick. Actually, I'll take the Kobe one away. Because that's another year where the most valuable player won. It was Steve Nash. You take Steve Nash off of that out of that Sons offense, they didn't have the same motion because he ran the offense. That was Jason Kidd. That's how he won an MVP. That's how Tim Duncan won an MVP. It wasn't stats. It was like, bro, you take him off of this, this engine don't run the same. That's how it was looked at before. Right. Until they didn't want to give it to LeBron all the time. Because that had nothing to do with Kobe. I feel like if you talk most valuable, Steve Nash won. He should have won. Most valuable. Because they were the number two seed. And he only averaged 14 points, 15 points. Right. But that speaks on his value to that team. He don't even got to do all that, do nothing crazy, but we need him to win seven. Yeah, there's no James Harden without the way Steve Nash was playing. Oh, facts. You know, so James Harden is Steve Nash on stereo. Then I felt like they start giving it to people because they didn't give it to them before. Again, like Cole be getting one, you know what I mean? Then it's like, bro, we have to give it to LeBron now. But then he won four out of like five. Right. So then it's like the only reason he stopped winning is because he won to Miami. Right. He was running them joints up, and there was years before that where it's like, yo, we probably should have given him that award. But it wasn't quote unquote time for him to win the award. And then it's oh, we definitely can't give him the award because he won to Miami. But y'all know what y'all had to do the very next year? Give him the award because he is the most valuable person. And then it was like KD1-1, which he had an efficient. Harden, Russell. A lot of niggas was supposed to win during them times, but then I think it became stat-based. Like, oh, Steph Curry is the most efficient person. Exactly. You had to find out later that this team's still good without them. They're not the Warriors, but team's still good without them.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_12So oh, and Victor, we gotta talk about you. I I feel like in the NBA, if we do most valuable, outside of the point I'm making that the Spurs are still be good without Victor, Victor hands down, has to be the most valuable player. Valuable. That's it. Not most valuable to his team and their future success without him, but most just valuable affecting the game in full totality. Ain't nothing like that. That's him. Ain't nothing like that going on. He's still not even playing 33, 34 minutes a game. You had the question earlier how many of the top picks from this year's draft would it would you need to before you took Victor? So for example, people, would you trade the one, two, three, one, two, one, or would you trade one, two, one, two, three? How many picks in four? How many picks in a row for this draft specifically? The one with Darren Peterson, Acuff, Boozer, DeBonsa, how many of those players would you need to give up Victor Wembeyama? Five. I need to start on five. Because that's how good that boy is. I would need. I would be cool with four, but you would have to promise me that I keep them for as long as you keep Victor. That's crazy. Because I I wasn't even thinking about as long how long you would have them. But yeah, for as long as Victor goes to whatever. I need them for that long. Because it ain't gonna make no sense if I get them four and then after they rookie contract, they go team up with Victor. So if I know they all staying on my team. If I know they're all staying on my team, I would only need three. But if they can do whatever they want, I would need six. Six was I was thinking. Because I know Victor's staying with the Spurs. I was thinking, I need that six that off the bench, man. But I definitely need to start in five. You're not, you're not, I need AJ, I need AJ, yeah. Darren, Cam, Acuff, and my fifth would probably be the Bull from Michigan. Um Lindenberg. Lindenberg. Who had Lindenberg? Yeah, he's coming off the bench. I started at the four, but I would need something like that. I would need a whole team. That's a full team. Again, that's a full starting five. Could roll that five out. Yeah, because how good? Uh if if AJ's as good as I think he's gonna be, I'll be cool with two. Again, I just don't know. So I need I need to I need the shot at all five. But if one be out here doing shit in the future, like 33, 60, 10. The way it's looking, it could get bad. It's going to get real bad out here, bro. Ball is nice. They said Joel and B said when he first got into the league, he told somebody that Victor Weminyama is not gonna get a lot of blocks in the league. But you know why he said that? He said he's gonna be the first player where people dead gonna be scared to shoot. They do that now? They do that. Bill Simmons and them made up a stat for that. They call it the Neverminds. Niggas see Vic in the court. Oh, never mind. Never mind. Right back out, past the ball. I guess we ain't getting to the rim. We just gotta shoot the three. We gotta shoot the jumper. Never mind. Vic down there. They said when niggas niggas is driving to the rim, not even looking at the rim. They're looking for Vic. Where are you at? Am I even gonna be able to attempt this layup? Not make it, not do something crazy. Am I even gonna be able to attempt this drone? Because now you're breaking down people's shots into two different thoughts. Like, because I still gotta get to the point of like. Am I gonna make it? Yeah, I ain't even thinking about making the shot. Am I gonna be able to get this drawing off, attempt this shot? Or should I just never mind? Let me go look for a different one. Somebody else gotta be open. But the thing is, nobody else is open when he's on the court. The space he covers when he's on the court on defense is insane. It's like nothing we never seen, bro. The advanced stats for that's why I think he's the most valuable. He is the most valuable, but you lost me, Vic.
SPEAKER_10I don't like when you campaign. I don't like campaigning for MVP. I don't like that. I don't like that.
SPEAKER_12Even if everything you said was true, bro.
SPEAKER_10Wait your turn, bro.
SPEAKER_12Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Because you're gonna get both of them awards.
SPEAKER_12And bro, you got you about to be playoff. You ain't playoff tested yet. And you're about to be defensive player of the year. That's stamped. Stamped defensive player of the year. You gotta put your money on that next year, too. You have to put your money on that every year. Right. And it's gonna it's gonna be minus money. It's never gonna be plus money again. After the year, we just seen that'll never, after he runs away with all first place votes for this award, it'll never be plus money again.
SPEAKER_10I'm calling it now. If we don't win it, Lakers fans, I want Victor to win it.
SPEAKER_12So you think they got a real chance? You think the Spurs got. What? I again, bro, they just not playoff tests.
SPEAKER_10They don't even play 30 minutes a game.
SPEAKER_12Per 30 stats, he averages like 33, 14 rebounds, five blocks. You know, it should get a little different in the playoffs. But because it's looking like they're gonna have to play us in the second round.
SPEAKER_10I'll trust the alien.
SPEAKER_12So you taking them over us, second round of the playoffs.
SPEAKER_10I have to. When I heard how, I heard how when I heard how okay. You're a homer, bro. You're not gonna be objective about it, bro.
SPEAKER_12Like they not the best team. They not, they not they not, I'm sorry. They don't have the record they have for nothing. I I agree. But again, I know the hit the hit they have to their teams, all every team has taken their L's in the playoffs before they became that team. They are they're on that trajectory. I believe I which which ones? What L's? With the Warriors. Who? What L's did LeBron have to take to go to the finals?
SPEAKER_04Huh?
SPEAKER_12What L did take Detroit? What, the year before in the Eastern Conference Finals? Yeah. Yeah, that's but you're you're you're going by just them losing. I'm going by time. I'm just saying LeBron would have been at where he's been at because it was his third or fourth year. Same thing I'm saying about Victor. I'm not going by what happened before. I'm just basically saying this is Victor's third or fourth year. It could easily be his time to start his time. You making it seem like that loss has to come first or second round. I'm saying it don't. Victor's loss would come in the finals this year. And that could be the loss he takes. It could be. Now I'm going off of the point of LeBron literally looking at the matchup and him being scared too. I heard how he talked about Victor after they beat us. I heard what LeBron said. I listened to what LeBron say about basketball, bro. Again, I believe in the in the playoff series, bro, Luca Doncic. Like I felt this way about LeBron before. But Luca, I feel I feel just as confident as I did before on that last iteration of the pod when I was saying, bro, give me any of these niggas with LeBron four times out of seven. I feel I'm taking my man. Taking Luca. I understand who's gonna be on this other side and the alien, but I'm taking Luca, bro. I know Steam looked already. And Braun is Bron's stats have almost always translated to winning. If LeBron scores 35 points, he usually always wins. He has to be in the finals playing the Warriors without Kyrie or going against KD for him to lose a game like that. Facts, facts. So I do want to put my money on, like I wouldn't mind putting my money on Luca, but he has to play out his fucking mind. Like you're saying. I believe and I believe, hold up. I seen him do it. I believe he could be. And Victor, not B who we think he's gonna be, and Stefan Castle, not B who he's projected to be, and Dylan Harper playing like a rookie for once. Hey, man. All of that gotta happen damn near. Hey man, I seen it all happen before. I seen I seen this recipe for teens before. Uh we know the history. It happens. It's not like I'm making this up. It happens. And just like there's niggas on their way in. There's niggas on their way out. There's niggas on their way out. But Luca ain't one of them. Exactly. I give you that. Exactly. But your karma mixes with other niggas' karmas. Sometimes. And all of this has to do with not Luca. I know what you're saying. Has nothing to do with Luca. Because Luca gonna do what Luca do. Us beating the Spurs have everything to do. Well, what LeBron's gonna come on and do. Is he gonna be 20-point LeBron like we've been saying? Or is he gonna say, fuck it, bro? I'm gonna give him all 16 to 28 games. I could do that. 16 to 28 games. I believe that time is coming. Then say niggas name like Braun to convince me. That's all. Don't use Luca. He's gonna play his. I said, bro. Just for the conversation talk, just for conversation's sake, I want to know what you think LeBron's gonna do. Because I know what you think Luca's gonna do. You tell me about what he's gonna average throughout the playoffs? No, like if we play the Spurs, you tell me what LeBron? Gonna have to do for us to win. Don't tell me what we know Lucas gonna do.
SPEAKER_11Alright, cool.
SPEAKER_12That's all I want to know. And I'm with you. But I need to hear LeBron's name. And I also need to hear what Aiden's gonna do, even if it's in the slightest. I need to hear that. You gotta tell me, like, yeah, Quill. I think Aiden's gonna ball better. Right? He's gonna be who he's been as of late. I do believe he's gonna be that. That's what I'm saying. All of these the the it's a lining right now for us, as far as everything, as far as everything I'm saying. Like I told y'all last time, Aiden, he knows he's not that guy. He tells himself that every day. And he's playing harder, he's playing better. I'm we're I'm all for it. If the trajectory stays the same, good fucking luck beating the Lakers four out of seven times. I've said it before, I say it again, bro. It don't happen often with niggas like LeBron and Lucas. So what happened last year? Who do we lose to? The Timberwolves. See what I'm saying? Now ask me, do ask me, do I think the Timberwolves could beat us this year? Fuck no. Ask me, do I think the Rockets could beat it? No. There's only two teams that I think have a realistic chance of beating us in the playoffs. In the West. And I agree. And if we get to the finals, heck whoever comes out. I'm agreeing with what you're saying. It's just who those two teams are. Hey, listen, man. That's all. Hey man. Like I I think we'll beat the Thunder before we beat Victory now. That's what I think. I don't know. But I know. And as far I I kind of believe that too, because I know the disdain Luca has for the Thunder and Sha. Like that's gonna be a real thing. Oh, he don't like them. Don't like them. He don't. I know he's in the locker room complaining, like, why the fuck? The odds keep going. So, and that's what I'm saying, bro. You y'all niggas is lighting a torch underneath. I'm rolling with Chris, but the Luca Chris is talking about is the one that was staring in Devin Booker's eyes. Come on, that's the Luca you talking. I seen this man be a killer. I seen him go out and do to Kawhi and PG, to Devin Booker and Chris Paul, to everybody who's ever really stood in front of him before. I seen him man up and kill. I don't care. Like, all right, bet. And now he got LeBron playing like this version of Braun on his side. And yeah, I think y'all gonna beat both of them four out of seven times, and AR could do 40. He could go off. I keep forgetting about what? I keep forgetting about fucking AR. I'm rolling. I'm rolling. I'm rolling. I'm not being a home. I'm rolling. I'm rolling. I'm rolling. Like there's a real thing. All I asked you was to convince me. I wasn't trying to fight it, but Luca ain't enough. I know Luca not enough for the Spurs. Right. You're right. Them niggas will have to be everybody you just named. Uh, and another nigga who's gonna have to step up, Rui. You've been playing better as of late, but we need the old Rui. Forgot we have him. We need the old rule. Just hit your open shots. Do what you need to do with it. Okay. But there is a path for us, bro. I'm not always just a homer just taking my guys. Like I'm looking at it. There is a rule. No, no, no. You've been you've been you've been admitting it lately. I can't really call you a homer, but I had to say that for conversation's sake. But you like you did convince me. I just don't like when I just hear Luca and I gotta stack that against Wemby's the cast. These are two rookie of the years. Facts. So I don't know, bro. Listen, bro, I'll tell you one thing. I'm just like I'm hoping for Iceman to be great. I am literally hoping for the Lakers to win the championship and LeBron just to retire. Cap off the basketball career so I need that so bad. I need I need something to go my way so bad right now, bro. I am down in the dumps. My morale is bad after that duke gloss. Morale pitch black. Yeah. It is bad, bro. So come on, man. You got anything else, man? I'm cool on these people for the week, bro. Me too.
