Until Every Child is Known and Loved with Beth Guckenberger, Back2Back Ministries
Beth Guckenberger’s journey is a powerful example of courage—courage to trust in a greater plan, to heal from personal wounds, and to step into stories that are hard yet transformative. Her life’s work with Back2Back Ministries, an organization serving orphans and vulnerable children worldwide, is a testament to what can happen when we surrender control and allow faith to guide us, even through pain and uncertainty.
Beth’s personal journey began with a spiritual bruise—losing her father at a young age and wrestling with a God who didn’t seem to answer her prayers in the way she expected. Later, as she and her husband adopted a son with severe cerebral palsy, she faced the depths of doubt and anger, wondering if she could trust God’s plan. But it was in these moments of brokenness that she experienced the fullness of God’s healing power—not just for her son, who went on to defy medical expectations, but also for herself. “Healing starts when we stop pretending and let God into the places that hurt the most,” she reflected.
Beth’s work with Trauma Free World highlights the ripple effect of healing—how addressing trauma can transform not just individuals but entire families and communities. By equipping caregivers, teachers, and everyday people with tools to understand trauma, she’s creating opportunities for deeper connection and lasting impact. As Beth shared, “We’re not just fixing problems; we’re facilitating healing that serves people for the rest of their lives.” Her work reminds us that healing doesn’t have to be grand or public—it can start quietly, with one conversation, one child, or one step toward understanding.
Beth’s story is a call to action for all of us. Whether it’s in the form of addressing our own pain, stepping into hard stories, or simply trusting that the next step will lead us where we’re meant to go, courage is about showing up. As Beth puts it, “Courage is trusting that God is there—whether you leap and He catches you or you fall and He picks you up.” Let her story inspire you to lean into your own journey of faith and healing, one courageous step at a time.
