Here is to 50 years of living!

Today, as I celebrate my 50th birthday, I’m reflecting on the one lesson that has changed my life more than any other: Courage doesn’t come when the fear goes away. It comes when we choose to move forward with the fear. Growth isn’t meant to be easy. It isn’t meant to feel comfortable. Growth demands that we step into places we’ve never been, ask questions we’ve never dared to ask, and believe in possibilities we can't yet see. We weren’t created to stay stagnant. We were born to evolve, to shift, to rise into the next version of who we are meant to be.

This birthday, I stepped into something deeply personal—asking for what I truly wanted. I asked for a baptism that reflected my heart, not anyone else’s expectations. And as Chad and I travel off-grid to Havasu Falls for this moment, I’m reminded that courage isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about trusting the nudge, speaking your dreams out loud, and believing that hope and possibility are worth fighting for.

So today, I ask you: What if you stopped asking “What if I fail?” and started asking “What if it works?” What if the unknown holds more joy, more healing, and more purpose than you could imagine? Courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s the belief that the life waiting for you is worth every single step.
