Episode 1: The Original Rebel — Who Is the Enemy?
In the first episode of this new Thoughtful Theology series, Timothy explores the biblical question: Who is the enemy in the unseen realm? Drawing from passages such as Ephesians 6, Genesis 1–3, Revelation 12, and the writings of Dr. Michael Heiser, this teaching challenges listeners to look beyond human conflict and recognize the spiritual battle described throughout Scripture.
Timothy discusses humanity as God’s image-bearers, explaining that God’s desire from the beginning was to unite His heavenly family with His human family through relationship and allegiance to Him. The episode then turns to Genesis 3 and examines the identity of the serpent as the “original rebel,” exploring whether the serpent was more than a literal animal and how the New Testament connects this figure to Satan, the adversary of God’s purposes.
This episode lays the foundation for the series by introducing themes of spiritual rebellion, the unseen realm, and humanity’s call to remain faithful to God through Christ.
