Episode 5: The Fall & Judgment of the Sons of God — Who Is the Enemy?
In Episode 5 of the Who Is the Enemy? series, Timothy explores one of the Bible’s most debated passages: Genesis 6:1–4. Who were the sons of God, and what role did they play in humanity’s corruption before the flood? This episode examines the rebellion of these supernatural beings, their relationship to the Nephilim, and how their actions contributed to the growing wickedness of the ancient world.
Drawing from Genesis 6, Psalm 82, Jude 6, and the writings of Dr. Michael Heiser, Timothy discusses the biblical evidence for understanding the sons of God as members of God’s heavenly host who abandoned their assigned responsibilities and sought to establish their own legacy. The episode also explores the judgment pronounced against them and how Scripture portrays their ultimate downfall.
Listeners will be challenged to consider how these passages fit into the larger biblical story of spiritual rebellion, God’s justice, and His plan to reclaim the nations through Jesus Christ. As the series continues, this teaching provides an important foundation for understanding the unseen realm and the ongoing conflict between God's kingdom and rebellious spiritual powers.
