SPEAKER_00Greetings, kings and queens. Welcome back to another thought-provoking episode of Flow with Floyd, where we leave the noise of the world behind and tune into something a little more real. I'm your host, the Minister Floyd Miley. And I'm so thankful that you decided to vibe with me. Now, whether you're winding down from a long day or just looking for that spark to get your mindset right, you're in the right place. Here we talk about personal growth, living life with intent and purpose, and most importantly, finding that rhythm in life that keeps the flow moving forward. Before we get into this episode, I want to ask you this. Have you ever wondered why am I here? What is my purpose in life? You know, sometimes I wonder why I'm here at this particular point in time. What am I supposed to be doing with the time that has been given me? Now, the question: what is your purpose? It has confused and challenged humanity since time began. And people have spent lifetimes searching for the answer. Miles Monroe once said, the cemetery is filled with people who live 60, 70, 80, or even 90 years without discovering why they were here in the first place. Now that statement is heavy because it forces us to confront a real possibility existing without ever truly knowing or understanding your assignment. Now, here's the one thing about discovering your purpose. It's very subjective, it's deeply personal. True purpose shows up when your gifts, values, and influence come together in a perfect storm to serve something greater than yourself. Not because the world validates it, but because your spirit recognizes it. So today we're going to dive into this deep conversation. Discovering your purpose, figuring out why you're here, and learning how to recognize the value of your existence before time runs out. So grab your favorite drink, sit back, relax, chill, and let's follow the flow. You know, it's amazing when I think about how many people are living in this world without having a clue as to why they're here. They wake up, they go to work, they pay bills, they raise the kids, they repeat the same routine day after day. Yet deep down inside, they're struggling with a question that money, titles, and accomplishments cannot answer alone. Why am I here? Now, most of us, we know how to make a living. But there are some that never discover what gives their life meaning in the first place. They know their occupation, but not their assignment. They know what they do, but they really don't know who they are or what unique contribution they were created to make. And what's even more amazing is that we're so busy chasing success, comparison, and other people's expectations that we never take the time to ask the deeper questions. We become experts at surviving while remaining strangers to the reason for our existence. The tragedy in life isn't dying young, it's reaching the end of life and never having discovered why you were given life in the first place. We were not placed merely to occupy time and space, we were here to make a difference, fulfill an assignment, and leave behind something that outlives us. Your existence is more than taking up space, moving through time. But let me ask you this what does your existence mean? Are you aware of your true essence? Check this out. Existence without awareness is just presence without purpose. Existence is about being present on earth. Awareness is about understanding your value, recognizing your gifts, and becoming conscious of the impact that you were created to make. Without awareness, you're just taking up space. But with awareness, you move with direction and intention. Life hits different. And the issue is that most people don't they never connect the gap between living and their reason for being here in the first place. I mean, when was the last time you slowed down life long enough to ask, Am I becoming who I was created to be? Your purpose in life gives your existence meaning. It gives a substance. Just because you're making money does not mean that you're fulfilled. You can be successful, but that does not mean that you're aligned with your purpose. Now, a lot of people confuse their career with their purpose. The other day I asked a friend of mine what was his purpose in life, and he gave me his job description. And as I pressed him harder, it became evident that he he didn't have a clue as to why he was here. I told him that your job may pay you, but your purpose feeds your soul. You see, everything in the universe was created for a reason. For nothing exists without one. Now, discovering your purpose in life is a journey. It rarely shows up all at once. More often it is revealed one step, one lesson, one experience at a time. The key is for you to stay open, keep growing, and trust with every season of your life is teaching you something of who you are and why you're here. It's just that simple. But the question is, are you ready to discover your purpose? The journey to discovering your purpose is not a destination that you arrive at like Disney World. It is something that unfolds as you live, experience, and learn. Now, most people they're waiting on a bolt of lightning. You know, that one dramatic moment where the sky opens up and purpose falls into the lap like a headline. But God rarely works that way. Purpose isn't usually announced, it's uncovered slowly. It is discovered when you're in motion, while you're growing, serving, failing, and then getting back up. Not by searching for it, but by paying attention to what keeps showing up in your life. Ask yourself some honest questions. What problems do you naturally gravitate toward? What do people consistently seek you out for? What lights you up even when no one else is watching or paying attention? These answers are not random details, they could be clues. Now, with that being said, a lot of people want to mistake their purpose for their career. Your job is what you do, purpose is why you do it. Careers shift, industry evolves. But purpose tends to stay anchored to the impact that you were designed to make. And that impact often runs deeper than any title or paycheck ever could. There's also something else that's worth confronting. When you compare yourself to others, it quietly kills your purpose. When you consume with someone else's life or dream, you stop paying attention to your own. Some people are called to move crowds. Others are called to change one life at a time. Now, neither calling is lesser. The measuring success isn't scale, it's faithfulness to what you've actually been given to do. I mean, think about the people who shaped you. The teacher who saw something in you before you saw it in yourself. Your parent who gave up opportunities so that you could have them. What about that coach who redirected your life with a single conversation? Their purpose wasn't loud, but it was impactful and it lasted. So if you haven't figured it all yet, that's okay. You're not behind. Because again, purpose rarely arrives in a single revelation. It tends to reveal itself one step, one lesson, one season at a time. So my advice is to keep moving, keep growing, keep showing up. For every experience, including the hard ones, is doing something. It's shaping you to become the person that you were created to be.
SPEAKER_01And that's the whole point.
SPEAKER_00At 360 degrees, I revolve. This is an actual fact, it's not an act, it's been proven. Now that one line is a mic dropper that pricked your conscience. This line hits deeper than confidence. It speaks to awareness, wisdom, and seeing life from a different perspective. With knowledge of self, there's nothing I can't solve. Rakim is saying that understanding who you are gives you the ability to face and overcome challenges with clarity and confidence. It's not about your name, your title, or whatever role that you're out there playing. It's about going deeper underneath the surface to discover who you actually are, your values, what you bring to the table, where you're lacking, what you believe, and what you were here for. You see, with knowledge of self, you evolve from seeking validation from everybody else, and you begin making decisions based upon who you are, not who the world expects you to be. Once you understand that, the next question becomes: what exactly makes up knowledge of self? To answer that, let's break it down into a simple formula. One that can serve as a roadmap for you discovering who you really are. Knowledge of self equals identity plus values plus strengths plus weaknesses plus beliefs plus purpose and plus vision. Before you can understand why you're here, you must first find out who you are. Purpose begins with identity. If you don't know who you are, you're going to spend a lifetime allowing other people, other circumstances and accomplishments to define you. Identity is the foundation of self. It answers the most important question that you were ever asked. Who am I? This goes beyond what you do for a living or the titles that you hold. You should ask yourself, What defines me? What principles do I live by? What kind of person do I want to become? What do I stand for when no one is watching? Again, don't make the mistake of confusing your identity with your roles. Whereas roles can change, your identity remains the same. Now I'm a father, I'm a coach, I'm an entrepreneur, I'm a podcaster, I'm a son. But those are all roles that I perform. They're not who I am at my core, at my essence. Your identity is your character. It's the values, the beliefs, the convictions that remain regardless of your circumstances. You can lose a job and still know who you are. You can retire from a career and still know who you are. You can experience failure and you still know who you are. Because identity is not built on what you have or what you do, it's built on who you have chosen to become. You see, when your identity is clear, your decisions become easier, your purpose becomes clearer, and you stop chasing approval from people who can't determine your worth. You must discover the person God created you to be.com and place your order today. As a customer myself, I can say that quality customer service is their specialty. Welcome back to the flow. Might have been a phone, new appliance, or maybe even a car. The one thing that all products have in common is that they all come with manuals. But most of us toss it aside. And some of us never even open it. But here's the thing that manual was not written by a stranger. It was written by the maker. The one who designed the product, who knows every wire, every gear, every function it was built to perform. And when something goes wrong, the first thing the repair technician does is reach for the manual. Let them marinate for a minute. Because I think this is one of the most powerful illustrations of what it means to discover your own purpose in life. It is impossible to discover your purpose without having a connection with the creator. I'm not talking about your mother, your father. I'm talking about God, the creator of all things, the Alpha and the Omega. Let me break it down too. Let's say someone sends you a brand new Kitchen A stand mixer. Still in the box. No manual, no context. You know it blends. So that's all you use it for. You settle for the basics because nobody told you that it could do more. And what you didn't realize is that the mixer not only blends, but it's a pasta roller, a meat grinder, a grain mill. Tools that can transform this one machine into a professional kitchen. It's not that you were using the product grown. You just never discovered everything it was built to do. And that is the story of so many lives. We never go deep enough to find out what the manufacturer packed inside of us from the very beginning. And here's the spiritual pivot we are the product. God is the manufacturer. Not in a cold mechanical way, but in the most intimate way possible. Scripture tells us in Psalms 139 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Jeremiah 1:5 tells us that before we were even formed, we were known and set apart for a purpose. That's not random assembly, that's intentional design. But here's the question I want you to wrestle with today. If God is the one who made you, why are you asking everyone else what you're here for? Why are you searching the world? Because you don't know better. I mean, think about it. We spend years taking personality tests, chasing trends, scrolling through other people's highlight reels, polling our friends, hiring coaches, all noble efforts, but we rarely go to the one source that actually has an answer. The manufacturer number is in the book. We just haven't been calling it. So the real question isn't whether your purpose exists, it's whether you're willing to go to the right place to find it. And that brings us to the practical side of all of this. Because faith without application is just inspiration that never becomes transformation. So let me break down three things that you can do this week taken straight from this product and manual framework to begin connecting with God and uncovering what you were here to do.
SPEAKER_01Number one, go back to the maker.
SPEAKER_00When a product malfunctions, the most reliable answer comes from the manufacturer. Prayer and time spent in scripture is you going directly to the source, not asking for directions, but opening the relationship that gives you the access to the one who knows you completely. Number two, read the manual consistently. Not just when you're in a crisis, not just when you're lost. The people who best know their Bibles aren't the ones who open it up once they hit rock bottom. They're the ones who read it regularly, even when life and everything feels fine. Purpose isn't usually delivered in a lightning bolt. It's revealed through accumulation of wisdom over time through consistent engagement with the word. And number three, you have to operate within your own design environment. Every product has an environment that it was built for. Think about it. Now part of connecting with God to to help you find your purpose is being honest about where you come alive. What gifts feel natural, what needs stir something deep inside of you, what work leaves you tired but satisfied rather than drained and empty? Those are not accidents, those are design features. So if you haven't opened up that conversation with God for a while, maybe today is the day that you make that call. It's something that you uncover through awareness, growth, connection with the one who created you. It's revealed when you stop comparing and start finishing. When you stop chasing everybody else's path and begin embracing your own. You're not far behind. You're not forgotten. You're in the process. And the question isn't whether you have a purpose. The question is, are you willing to discover it and live it? Because the moment you choose alignment over approval, clarity shows up, directions become clearer, and your life starts to make sense in ways that it never did before. And if you're serious about discovering your purpose, I want to encourage you to take the next step.
