The wait is almost over. For a time the cries of demons felt quiet. Not because they vanished, but because something else took their place. Silence. The kind that settles in after a catastrophe. The kind that makes you wonder if the worst has already happened, or if it's still finding his footing. Here in the city of Dante, we try to move on. We tell ourselves there's a future to build, even as the specter of doubt looms just out of sight. Because hell doesn't stay still for long. Herman is out there. A serial killer who found new purpose in death. He roams Dante's streets, offering a second death to the unlucky few, and reminding us that immortality here is never guaranteed. Even as things in Dante have supposedly changed for the better. There's been a transformation. A new dawn, it's been named. I wear the badge now, Sheriff of Dante and Captain of the ORA. Max stands at my side as deputy and people I trust, the ones who've stared into the abyss and refused to blink. They've come together under a single banner, the ORA. We're not pretending this place is safe. We're deciding it's worth fighting for. Because hell may be evolving, but so are we. When we arrived in hell, we were forced to face our demons.
