What is going on, everyone? Welcome to the TI Live Podcast. First time ever streaming for platform simultaneously. YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, Facebook. I'm still trying to figure out TikTok. But we're almost there. But before we start the show, you know how we like to do it. Gotta get that jamming going, you know what I mean? Because if the jamming's not going, we're not going anywhere. Alright, let's cut it down now. Let's give it a little pause. Today's podcast, I want to talk about the toxic of the industry. I know sometimes when we watch social media, everything plays out like perfectly, right? Everything looks great. Pretty nails, beautiful nail tech, everybody's getting along just fine, right? Is it really like that though? Is it really like that in the industry? We all want it to be like that. We do. We do. We want to have a peaceful industry. We we want the industry to be blooming. We want the industry to have a positive outcome. But the truth is, sometimes jealousy gets in the way. Sometimes ambition gets in the way. Sometimes it could be just you wanting more. You wanting to be better than the person next to you. It could be that simple. And it creates this mentality where we call it a dog eating dog kind of business. It's facts, y'all. You guys don't believe me. You you guys know there's drama everywhere we go. Everywhere we go, there's drama. But let me play out how drama works in the nail industry for y'all. So you guys would know. Because sometimes you guys would think, like, is it really that bad? Is the drama really that bad in the nail industry? It doesn't start out bad. It starts out very genuine. Like, for example, you just apply for the nail salon, and everyone in the salon knows that you're new. So when you're new, they treat you like a baby. They come to you and they're like, hey, how you doing? What what what do you like to eat? How you you want to learn how to do nails, aquilic? Uh you what do you want to do? I help you out. And then for the next few months, your relationship with that person is great. It's like brothers and sisters, or you can call it sisters and sisters, or brothers and brothers, whatever you want to call it. They're great. But the moment the newcomer shows up, do a better job, provide better service, the clients love her or him, and next thing you know, we're no longer friends. We start gossiping, we start talking smack about each other. Oh, this is my client. She used to be my. She used to be my. My, my, my, my, my, my, my. For real, y'all. And that's how drama created in the nail industry. Let me know in the comment if you ever experienced that in the nail industry. Let me know in the comment. This is like an open podcast where we can talk, we can chime in, we can do whatever we want, but we keep it professional in this podcast. Just saying, you know what I mean? I'm just saying. But what I'm trying to tell you is it's really toxic, is because sometimes we could be just focusing on one client. Like, like let's say you're busy, right? And you and this nail tech took in two a client at the same time. But this nail tech, she just happens to be faster. Or maybe you might be sitting next to her and you're realizing, like, this, this, this, this bitch is cutting corner. Just to take in the next client. And it's getting you irritated. It's getting you super, super irritated. And it went from, hey, we're brothers and sisters, to I I don't even like the way she works. You know, uh, I I she she's not a good customer service kind of nail tech, you know. She she just wants clients in and out, in and out, in and out, in and out. All of that, guys, takes place in the nail industry. You know what I'm saying? Everything we just have to really be patient, y'all. You know, throughout my career, I never have any authentication with uh other nail tech regarding how many clients they do. You got to go in with the mindset that you don't give a damn how many clients they got. Because you are your own self. We gotta tell ourselves that. Because if you don't tell yourself that, you're gonna be grinding yourself in misery because every single day when you go to work, you're gonna be eyeing at that person. You're gonna be looking at them, you're gonna be like, why is she cutting corner? Why is she not there? And then next thing you know, you're fed up with every single person in that nail salon. And next thing you know, you're moving on to another nail salon. And the question I ask you today is, is it really the nail salon? Or is it you? And a lot of times, I get it, there are nail technicians who are bullies out there. They are. I mean, I don't know about the new school one because I find all the new school nail tech so genuine. Come on, give everybody needs to pop up. All the new nail tech seems to be genuine. The only time that I see nail technicians get into fights over clientele is the old school nail tech. Shoot, I'm even gonna say it. I usually see the Vietnamese nail tech that get into a fight. I don't know what the reasons are, but I find it very unprofessional. I don't condone that, and I'm gonna continue to be professional. And really, that's all you have to do. Because I know, and and we're not even talking about Asian Nail Tech anymore, okay? This is we're talking about nail tech as a sum. We tend to grow this jealousy where we don't want to see people grow. It's really sad, y'all. Like, let me break it down to you. By the way, if you guys look up in the link on top, this is sponsored by the studio. Um, they are open 24-7 on their website, thestudiosupply.com. You can use promo code TILIVE10 for 10% on your next shopping experience with the Studio Supply and Nails. And back to that, you know, we have to have this mentality where we cannot grow jealousy upon other nail tech. And it's sad to say that other nail techs sometimes do have that mental mentality that they don't want to see other nail tech grow. It's like, let me tell you something. For example, back to the first example, if you are new to that salon, they usually treat you really nice because they don't know what you're capable of. Until they know what you're capable of, then they find you as a person of threat. They find you a person of competition, they find you as a person that they don't want to have in the salon because you are gonna take their fame, their money, their income, their clients away. But the spanking truth is it's not like that. It's sad to have that mentality as a nail tech because then think about this, y'all. You we work so hard. Every single day, bussing ass, filing, sniffing chemicals, and yet we're jealous of that person next to us based on they're taking in one extra client more than you. They're taking in maybe another client more than you, two clients more than you. So what? You know, back in the day when I was growing up in the nail industry, the first thing I've learned is that you gotta be fast. Because when you're not fast, you can't take in as many clients as you can. But I come to realize one thing. You cannot be fast in this generation because some of the nail art requires time. Some of the design requires time, especially when you're heading towards the winter, it takes longer for chemicals to dry. So you really cannot speed. Depends on certain tasks or certain process. But what my point I'm trying to tell you is that there's clients for everybody. There's clients for every single person. And if we're able to tell ourselves that we don't get into fight, if we're able to tell ourselves that there's clients for all of us, then your time will come. So, in the meantime, while you're watching other people work, practice. Get on social media, be active, be present, but don't be jealous. I I'm gonna keep saying the word jealous because that's facts. The moment nail technicians see other people do something better, it becomes a competition. And the facts is that they used to be friends, they used to be goodies. You see what I'm saying? This is facts, y'all. Cosmetologists, every single beauty industry out there. We need to be better. We need to be better, right? We cannot continue to fight for clients back and forth. Okay, I'm not even talking about nail salon anymore. Let's talk about selling product. You know, you you don't have to freaking sell the same stuff. You don't even have to, you know, you don't even have to like worry about like, oh my god, I have a product line, and this person also has a product line. So what? So what? I told y'all on my last podcast. Stop selling the product. Start selling your brand. Your product can be duplicated. Your brand cannot. You know how many gel polish out there? I'm gonna be real with you on this podcast, okay? 100%. All the damn gel polish you see out in the market, it's all the same shit. It's just different color, different bottles, different design, different colors, different schemes. So what? They all just polish, right? If you're a good nail tech, you can use any type of polish. It doesn't have to be that specific one. So is it really the product that you're selling, or is it really the brand that you're selling? You see what I'm saying? I'm just letting y'all know. Like, stop getting jealous just because somebody wants to do something like you. You are a role model, you are somebody who influenced people, and if you influence people and they are copying exactly what you're doing, you should be proud of that. That's why you see, whatever I do, I don't care you copy me. Because at the end of the day, you can copy the product, but you cannot copy the brand. You can't copy the personality. You know what I'm saying? And that's real. That is real, y'all. I'm not just making this up, you know, because you know, I'm not making this up is because uh, you know, I'm I'm I'm thinking about I'm seeing pictures, I see, I see videos, I see stuff that people are saying, like, oh yeah, you know, uh, I have this first. Even content creating, even content creating. It's like the moment somebody does one content, and if another person copied the same content, you go into the comment section, all you see people comment on is like, oh, you're copying that person, you're copying that person. Give me a grip, bro. Like, who's copying who? We might be doing the same content. Doesn't mean our person are the same, doesn't mean we speak out the same words. You see what I'm saying? So we gotta stop the jealousy, we gotta stop the hate on each other. Like, we supposed to support each other's growth. That's why I'm gonna keep it another real with y'all. Like, I don't do, I don't watch social media, I do social media, I put out content, but I don't have time to be browsing on content. But when I do open up my app, and whoever pops up on my app, I give them a heart. I prove it. I prove it. Prove it to you right now. Prove it to you right now. The moment I open up, see, whatever I see that I follow, I just go for it. Okay? I don't know who that person is. Chong Lee, give him a heart. You know? That's how you do it. I don't know who that person is. See, I nailed by Aaron, give her a heart. You know what I'm saying? What I'm trying to tell y'all is that we don't hate up in the mix because there's bread for everyone. There's bread for everybody, okay? We're not just having bread for one person and that client kind of split the bread with everybody, you know, and then we all eating the crumbs. It's not like that. Because if that is it, then the world would be corrupted, right? It's not like that. But sometimes our mind plays like that. Sometimes our mind, you know, speaks like that. Sometimes our mind makes us feel like we should be jealous, we should be competitive. No, competitive can be healthy if you help one another out. Do you not agree? Let me know if you agree. Let me know if you agree. Because, you know, I love the industry, and I'm able to embrace the industry in a positive manner. Like, like I see the flaw. I do. I see the flaw every single day. You know, nail tech complaining about clients, about other nail tech, not having enough supply, too much neutrin. I mean, we complain all the time. But at the end of the day, you know what? We freaking work hard, man. We work so hard. And I'm talking about nail technicians, salon owners, brand developer. All of you guys works hard. No shades on none of y'all. But we can be better by not having this negative competition where we have to bring out people's closet just to make ourselves popping again. Or we we don't have to like, you know, dig out holes just to make you look good. That's why you guys notice I never call anybody out. Besides my friend Julie. But I never call anyone out. Because to me, life has flaws everywhere. People can put on a perfect content, a perfect image on a video, that doesn't mean they're perfect in life, y'all. And that's me speaking facts. Okay? That's straight up facts. You know, because if everybody was putting on a perfect image on social media, if their life was like that, go ahead. Send me that text. Cause I I don't know. I don't I don't know anybody like that. Because if life was so good, it wouldn't be like that. You know what I'm saying? But the reason why I thought about this podcast today is because, first of all, I haven't done podcasts like you know since the beginning of last year. And I told you the reason why I kind of took a pause because I gotta find a new way to generate my podcast better. So right now, just to remind you guys that we are streaming on four platforms right now. Streaming live. Twitch, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. So make sure y'all subscribe. Y'all subscribe, y'all subscribe, y'all subscribe. Okay? But we need to be better, y'all. We cannot hate on each other. Any beauty industry. Oh, she does better lash than me. Oh, she does better haircut than me. She does better than I be honest, you that who do's better job? It's a dying statement, y'all. Let's give the cast a lot more. Let's give the cast a lot more. It's a freaking dying statement. Just think about it. Who's better? What nobody's better than nothing. What matters do the clients like who you are? You know, a lot of time clients that go to the nail salon, they don't even know half of what we do. They're just happy that they show up at the nail salon. They're just happy that they got some service done. They they're just happy that they're out there. They're out there. That's it. But we overthink. We as nail tech overthink about oh my god, we gotta be perfect. We got no. Just be yourself. That's all I'm asking you to do. Just be yourself. You don't need to be anyone else but yourself. I mean, let's let's look at this picture, okay? Let's look at this picture. How do you imagine new naotechnician gains clients? Do you think they're they're gaining clients because they're good? You think they're gaining clients because they're perfect? No. They're gaining clients is because their personality, how grateful they are, how humble they are, and that's how you build clientele. And that's how you continue to build clientele. You love on to them. You don't compete with your other nail technician to gain client. What kind of bullshit is that, right? When you really think about that's some bullshit for you to compete with your peers just to gain a client, like like that's low, low. That's like high school low. That's like snatching your girl kind of low. You know what I'm saying? But to me, to me, how I always built my client, you just gotta be yourself. Just be who you are. I guarantee you, who you are is gonna attract more clients than you attract flies on poop. And and and I'm just being real, y'all. You know, you know, you watch my content, right? And you a lot of the comment in the comment, they always say, I wouldn't come to you if I was your client. You you talk badly to your nail tech, but you gotta ask yourself, if I was so bad with my clients, why am I always staying busy? And why don't the clients leave me? And they've been with me over 20 years, 10 years, five years, we're talking about 10 years right here, right? You know what I'm saying? That's because you treat them right, you treat them like family, you treat them like they deserve all your love. And I can guarantee you, if you do that, you're gonna be alright. You're gonna be alright as a nail tech. You're not gonna worry about who's competing with you because at the end of the day, as much as one nail tech can have so many clients, but they can only have so much. Y'all, there's only 24 hours in a day, eight hours of work. What? How much client you want to do is up to you, but I'm good. I don't need to get that burnout. Okay, we can talk about nail tech getting burnout on the next episode if you guys want to. Let me know in the comment if you want to talk about nail tech getting burnout in the next podcast. And also let me know in the comment, what do you want to talk about on our podcast? Because this podcast can go on every single day. Because why? Because I'm able to get this streaming live on four platforms at once, baby. We can't go wrong with that. This is called elevation, this is called elevating. The next level nail tech right here of how to express yourself, how to bring out information without going on to one app, live stream on that app, going on to the other app, live streaming on the other app, go on to. I'm not gonna do that. There's only so much time in my days to be able to go on different platforms to do that. So that is why this podcast is the special podcast for y'all. Because why? Again, we are live streaming on four platforms. Thank you very much, guys. I want to come to the name because you know how hard it is to get this going. Do you know how hard it is to have this system going? Thank you very much, y'all. I could not do it without you. And I just want to take this time and show my gratitude that for the last five years of making content, I have learned a lot. You know, you guys seen my podcast when I first started sitting behind a table from inviting Nail Tech onto my platform to introduce them to the world all the way to mainstreaming into multiple platforms at once. That is next level, and I could not do that without you. I could not do any of this without you. And I sincerely thank you, and that is why I work my butt off every single day to put out funny content for you. Nail content, educational, recommending what brand to use. Because I am that picky about who I work with. And you had to be picky. It's not about you know, in the beginning, it's great. It's great when all the brand is sending you free product because we love free product. Who doesn't love free product? But eventually it gets where, like, okay, I don't need free product because it's just building up dust. And I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, but at the end of the day, I don't know who's listening to this, but if you are a brand owner, start paying your content creator for marketing. The free product, it gets it's getting old. That's been like five years since I started content. Yes, it's great with the free product, but let's start paying the content creator. And you might be thinking, like, well, what if your promotion doesn't execute the sale? Marketing is not about executing sell, marketing is about exposure. How you execute the sale is how consistent you are with your marketing. Because I know a lot of brands out there, they love to pay content creator, but only one time. And they expect that one time payment to go so viral that it gives them like all the sell that they expect. Hello, reality check, that's not how it works. You want sale, it has to be reoccurring marketing. You want exposure, then you pay a one-time fee. But free product is great for new content creators who's starting out, but eventually you're gonna learn the hard lesson that, hey, why don't you just pay me for my content? The product, I don't really use it that much. You see what I'm saying? Not to throw shade at nobody, but I'm just throwing out there because I know this kind of stuff, a lot of content creator doesn't talk about too much because they're trying to stay humble. They try and be like, you know, I gotta be humble because you know, these are free products, they cost money. Look, man, when you are creating content and you're growing, all the brands are gonna reach out to you. And it's like I say, it's great to get new product all the time. I enjoy the new product, but I also enjoy that, hey, pay your content creator if you want more marketing. Because at the end of the day, think about this. You give them a package of product, right? They put out an unopened video box and then they do another video of them using it. That's great. We can only do that like three or four times. We cannot do that every single week, every single month just because you gave us a box of product. Because at the end of the day, we got other brands out there who don't even give us product but willing to pay us and give us product after they pay us. So when you start having those brands who's willing to pay you and all these branches wanting to give out free product, you're kind of gonna lose a lot of people wanting to free product because they'd rather get paid. I'm just throwing out there, man, because I hate sugarcoating it, man. I hate because I've been in this dirt, I've been in this mud. I know it's great getting a new product, but at the end of the day, it's like, hey, the product doesn't feed my bills, doesn't feed my kids. So start paying the content creator. And I'm not just speaking for myself. When I say start paying your content creator, I'm speaking among all of you who are creators, you know, because I know a lot of y'all creators out there, y'all humble. Y'all be like, I'm just happy I got free product. It's great. I'm not saying it's not great to get free product, but it's better to get paid. And we're gonna talk about that more on the next segment of this podcast because we got a lot of things to talk about. Because for the last one year, I haven't gone on podcasts. You know why? Because I've been studying, I've been eyeballing on every single situation in the industry, studying each single brand out there, and I know what their tactics are. I know every single brand's move and motive and why they do what they do. And I'm about to expose all of that. And y'all better be ready for it. Because I'm not playing around, y'all. This is what we call real raw content. You feel me? And this is how we're gonna make this is how we're gonna make the nail industry better. Because you know what? It's too much catfishing out there, it's too much personas out there. I'm not about persona life, I'm not about the catfishing life. I'm about that life where I speak the truth about the real industry. And I tell you what product's good out there too, because I have tested out every single brand. You want regular polish, I tell you what regular polish is good. You want gel polish, I tell you what gel polish is good. You want powder, I tell you what powder is good. You want to know what brand you want to mess with? I'll tell you who's good too. Cause I got the insight. You feel me? But I just haven't speed it out. I haven't let it out yet. Cause it's about to come out. And I just want to share the that's why I've been working hard on this mainstream. Because the only way to share information directly, streaming, manifesting is to multi streaming, baby. Welcome to the Tie Light Podcast. And I hope you enjoy this podcast. I hope you learn a lot because it's about to get more real on the next episode. Peace. Have a wonderful day.
