This week we return after a long hiatus to discuss what books we’ve both been reading, what we’ve been up to, and future plans for the pod.
We discuss Justin’s first read of A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. He has read chapters 1-15, so expect spoilers for those chapters only.

Hey Jeff.
SPEAKER_06Hey Justin.
SPEAKER_02Hey guys. Welcome back to the show.
SPEAKER_06Holy cow. Why does this feel so scary?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. We we used to do it all the time.
SPEAKER_06I know, but it feels so foreign and weird.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06But also exciting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and we've missed it. We've missed doing it.
SPEAKER_06We have. We've missed you guys.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's true. And which is why we're back to talk about books.
SPEAKER_06Talk about books again.
SPEAKER_02And all the books we've read.
SPEAKER_06And all the things. And that's what we wanted to start with, was just to kind of catch up. Like, let's catch up. What have we been up to? What have you been up to?
SPEAKER_02What have I been up to? Which is clearly totally different than what I've been doing. The same shit you've been doing. Okay, what have I been up to? Working, raising children, vacations.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we took a couple of those.
SPEAKER_02Reading. Mm-hmm. Watching lots of TV, love TV. Probably since we spoke last, one of the more devastating football seasons of my life. Oh no. With just so much hype and excitement coming in, and then just just soul crushing week after week. So sad. Didn't go the way we wanted, but the boys are back in training camp now. Hallelujah. So we're looking good, you know, defense is looking better.
SPEAKER_06You got to relive it recently too, because we watched quarterbacks on you got to relive that season.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Which is fun. JD5, Jaden. And I didn't want to watch it at first, and you're like, why would you you know we've watched the first two seasons where your team's not on here? And it's like when I like I did watch it. Like I already saw it. And if it was good, I'd be so excited. But I was like, you're right, I should watch it. And it wasn't good and exciting as far as the result of the season, but the show itself is phenomenal. If you haven't seen it, even if you're not really a I think a non-football fan.
SPEAKER_06I I I mean, I'm a football fan, I would say, but like I still enjoy seeing like the behind the scenes, and if you like reality shows, you know. So we also celebrated an anniversary recently.
SPEAKER_02Twentieth wedding anniversary.
SPEAKER_06Twenty. It was a big one.
SPEAKER_02That's a huge one. And it was so romantic. We were at the beach.
SPEAKER_06It was not romantic at all.
SPEAKER_02With our children.
SPEAKER_06We did nothing exciting at all, actually. Yeah. Which is kind of a bummer.
SPEAKER_02We tried to see some sea turtles hatch, which would have been sick.
SPEAKER_06That would have been sick, but we did not succeed in that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it turns out that's a lot of waiting. And we did. We, you know, we waited. We did. Didn't get to see him. That's a bummer. Maybe next time.
SPEAKER_06Maybe next time.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, no, the vacation was great. It was.
SPEAKER_06I got you a star for anniversary.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm really into space.
SPEAKER_06Justin, that is Justin's new hobby, is he he has become a space nerd.
SPEAKER_02I have. I've read a lot of you really have.
SPEAKER_06Like really smart books too. Like, be honest.
SPEAKER_02Well, some smart books for sure, but not not all of them. Some stuff I've read has been pretty just like fun and kind of silly. But yeah, I've got to be a good idea.
SPEAKER_06Like Justin's over here reading like the theory of everything.
SPEAKER_02I did read that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_06So how many books have you read this year?
SPEAKER_02This sh well, take a guess.
SPEAKER_06Take a guess? Yeah. Uh I have it up, so I can say twenty-two.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Twenty-three. Wow. I was such a good guess. And I'm like 84% of the way through one book right now. So yeah, 23. Yeah. Pretty good.
SPEAKER_06So I don't know exactly how many books I've read.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so I use Goodreads and it's been fine for me. Jackie's been trying everything else.
SPEAKER_06There was a good reason for switching from Goodreads. I switched from Goodreads because our daughter, I don't know how it has happened, but she also has a Kindle now and she has a kids' account that's like separate, but all of her books are going on my Goodreads somehow. So I also like wasn't like overly impressed with Goodreads. So I've tried a couple of different tracking apps. I tried Story Graph. That one was okay, but I found it difficult to navigate in some ways, like to see exactly what I wanted to see. So I moved to Bookmorey. And I think I like that one better, but of course I switched to mid-year and like I didn't feel like transferring everything over.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so you've lost the your count of books or whatever. A little bit.
SPEAKER_06I think I'm around 33. Okay. Roughly. Ballpark.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I mean, you've you've been reading your ass off.
SPEAKER_06I have and as not as much like in the last like week or so. Like not as much this summer as I thought that I would, but definitely more than average. Sure. What would you say were your top three books that you read this year so far?
SPEAKER_02My top three. Top three. Wow. Off the spot.
SPEAKER_06I know. I'll put you on the spot.
SPEAKER_02That really was on the spot.
SPEAKER_06You got your good reads pulled up though. Look at that.
SPEAKER_02Well, Project Hail Mary was my number one. I didn't really know that much about it. And I just started reading it and I was like, wow, this is really great. The movie's coming out, and the movie was was great. It was. Maybe Greater. I don't know. The book was really really good, but the movie was awesome.
SPEAKER_06It was. And I I don't know. Like I so I hadn't read the book going into the movie. Like I wanted to go see the movie just because you had read it and wanted to see it. And I was honestly like a little skeptical about it. Loved it though. I think it was such a good movie. It's one of the best movies we've seen. We've watched it again since then, and I literally would watch it again.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's great.
SPEAKER_06Reading the book after, I I feel like I still liked the movie better.
SPEAKER_02Okay. And that's fair.
SPEAKER_06I think And that's unusual.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think reading the book first and watching the movie second is a different experience than watching the movie first and reading the book second.
SPEAKER_06For sure.
SPEAKER_02They're two different experiences. So I'm glad that I read it first and then saw the movie because the movie was so just like, you know, it's like loud and it's big and hearing the sound effects for the first time. And it was really cool. I was also probably a little high. Probably. I don't know, guys. Anyway, and it was just really fun. It was increasing. It was.
SPEAKER_06It was, I would say it's a musty movie, but that's the thing. I wouldn't necessarily, it's a must-read book, but I would definitely say it's a musty movie.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_06I know, but like that's the thing. I feel like you really enjoyed it because like you're really into it. And that was like, if you're considering reading it, that was the difficult part for me, was that it was very heavy on the math and science. And it was enjoyable and it had all of the fun parts.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_06But it was heavy on the math and science, and so you would get kind of bogged down with that every once in a while.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's fair. Alright, so that's one. How about the others? Yeah, that that's one. I have read a lot of space. Mm-hmm. So I'm gonna put my my next one as one of the space ones. And I've enjoyed a lot of them that I've read this year. But one of the first ones that I think that I read at least this year was Cosmos. It's Carl Sagan, which had a TV show back in the day, right? So anyway, it was the first book this year that I read about space, and I've probably read ten. But it was great. Like I have found it educational and I learned a lot of different stuff that I'm not gonna bore you with, but if you're into not right now, you're not gonna bore me with it right now. I've already bored you.
SPEAKER_06But you've definitely based on our interactions.
SPEAKER_02I know when I start talking about these types of books that I like, it it's not an interesting subject to listen to.
SPEAKER_06Well, I am uh very happy for you that this is and I enjoy like learning some of the things along with you. I certainly would not say that I have quite the same level of passion about it as you, but I'm really excited for you for that hobby because you've been really into it. You even got yourself a telescope.
SPEAKER_02I did, I got a nice telescope. I've had two.
SPEAKER_06I had a a basic one and a I bought you a basic telescope because I thought this was like an introductory hobby. That's just not how Justin rolls. Yeah, no, just like you, you're like, I'm gonna start reading and now I'm gonna podcast about reading.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's just that's my personality. Like, I don't know. I'm an all or nothing type of person.
SPEAKER_06Well, you are, you can't not go in lightly.
SPEAKER_02I just get excited about things. And when I get excited, I'm just like, oh, well, I don't even want to work anymore. I just want to do just all the time.
SPEAKER_06I think that's a lovely characteristic.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, thank you. As far as my third book.
SPEAKER_06Your third book?
SPEAKER_02I've read a lot of good ones. So the last Dungeon Crawler Carl, the eighth book, came out this year. So that was exciting because I read the first seven, and so this was like, oh, it came out. I got to read it when it came out. It was cool and it was great. I don't know it'd be in my third spot. I read The Martian, which probably is actually the best out of all the books. Yeah. Yeah. So that's definitely a possibility, but I already said Project Hail Mary and the author.
SPEAKER_06You can have the same author in there twice.
SPEAKER_02But I'm not gonna bore you with the rise and fall of Alexandria, all right, even though I did love that one. I think I think The Martian would be up there. Yeah. It's the same author twice, but it's both were just really, really awesome. And I actually read his his first book that was either his first book or the book that came out before those two, which is called Artemis. And it wasn't nearly as good. And I can see why it wasn't really made into a movie. It was cool and it was fun, but it was not at the same level. Not the same level as the other two. But yeah, for some reason, if you have not seen The Martian, it's a phenomenal movie, also.
SPEAKER_06That is also a good movie. We watched it after you read the book, and that one was a good one too. It was not as good as Project Hill Mary.
SPEAKER_02No, not nearly that. The book is the books are great. Yeah. I don't know. They're both five stars to me. I think they're the greatest books ever made. They're probably masterpieces. You know. Probably. That's high praise. Yeah. Andy Weir, you're a genius. So what are your top three?
SPEAKER_06I had a really hard time with that. Of course, it was my question. So I had more time to think about it than you did, which I think was probably a bad thing. You give you too much time to think about things. It's never good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you just hit me through the oh, just so everybody knows before you get into it. Justin has no notes. I don't have anything up. I have no notes.
SPEAKER_06And perhaps we should have explained all of that in the beginning.
SPEAKER_02Well, do your three books first. Okay. People obviously want to know your three books. They want to know my three books.
SPEAKER_06So it turns out my three books is actually like five. How did I guess that? Just because uh well, one of them the two books go together.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_06And it was Metal Slinger and Lightwielder. And those two, Metal Slinger was a really big book. I think it was last year. And it blew up, and everybody talked about like how ridiculously crazy the ending was. And I knew another one's gonna come out and I knew it was a crazy big cliffhanger, so I delayed reading it on purpose until right before the second book was gonna come out. And then I read it and I'm like, okay, like I get why people were into this. A lot of people were disappointed in Lightwielder, the the sequel. I was not. I enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_02Well, good for you for knowing what you like, even though it's a good one.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and it's such a bummer. Like when you go into it, because of course I'd already started to see people's reactions to it before I read it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And oh, so you kind of like had like a bummed out thought going into it right now? Right. Like, oh, this might be a bummer.
SPEAKER_06That's a bummer. So, you know, I don't know. Not that people need to keep their book opinions to themselves. I certainly don't keep my book of opinions to myself, but don't like shit on a book. You know what I mean? Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Especially one you know a bunch of people are excited for.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but you know, share your opinions. It's fine. Another one.
SPEAKER_02Just don't say bet shit, y'all.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, don't do that.
SPEAKER_02Don't be mean. Don't be mean, don't do that.
SPEAKER_06These authors work really hard on these books.
SPEAKER_02Jackie's that she's always talking about that too. Like these authors' feelings and stuff, which I agree. I could not be like actually famous or whatever, known like that.
SPEAKER_06Because I would have a hard time with the criticism.
SPEAKER_02Because you know people are gonna just shit on everything. Everything.
SPEAKER_06So me, for no reason. And not even people who like genuinely think that way. I mean, you're gonna have people who haven't even like consumed whatever you're putting out is like you might not have seen your movies or read your books or whatever it is that you're doing.
SPEAKER_02Some assholes are just gonna be on there and judge you for your looks, too. The personal shit that's got nothing to do with anything. Yeah, fuck that. It's annoying. Yep. All right, which again?
SPEAKER_06Sorry. Second one, I would say Poison Daughter was a standalone book.
SPEAKER_04That's a good name.
SPEAKER_06And I went into it. Funny thing, wanting a standalone. Like I was really like, I am so bogged down with series, like I need to get out of that. I just want like one book that's you know, you get into it and you're done. Because I also feel like I've read so many books lately where it's like I'm reading an unfinished series, and that's such a huge bummer because when you go back and you forget about the series, or I've had several where I've waited so long for the next book to come out that I like didn't even really enjoy it when that book finally did because I was disconnected from it.
SPEAKER_02Well, what's the one that you've been talking about? It's like a four year, like three years or four years, people are still waiting on it to come out.
SPEAKER_06Oh, the book series that we are gonna be podcasting about.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's Avatar.
SPEAKER_06That's what I've read to that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And that's the book that everybody's been waiting for that long.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You set me up for failure.
SPEAKER_06Well, you're not gonna have to wait for it because the next book comes out in October. So you're fine. Yeah. And then another one comes out after that, like shortly after. So yeah, you got two books. Like, you're fine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Tamlin, no big deal. I got it.
SPEAKER_06So I enjoyed Poison Daughter, and the funny thing was, is even though I wanted I went into it wanting it to be a standalone, when I finished it, I wanted more. Like I was like, I'm really bummed that this is the only book that's gonna be about these people and these characters. So that's how you know it's good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would agree with that. Okay, well, that's exciting. Um it's a standalone.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So you can just like refresh, you don't have to worry about reading another five, six hundred pages. You're done. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06One and done.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, those are nice.
SPEAKER_06So they I could not decide for like the third place. Um I read a series I don't even know what the actual series name. The first book was called Wolf King, and then the second book is called Night Prince. And it's funny because and I had posted about this on our Instagram when I was reading it, there are some similarities in terms of like certain relationship things between that series and Akatar, which I won't get into details because you don't know what I'm talking about yet.
SPEAKER_02I've read 15 chapters.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Also, sick names. I wanted to mention that. Every name of every book that you have read so far are really cool. Have been like names that I would want my code name to be if I was.
SPEAKER_06You want your code name to be Wolf Kings? Yeah, like Wolf Kings. Or Night Prince.
SPEAKER_02Fuck yeah, dude. Yeah, those are good names. Hell yeah, they are. They are. That's a badass name.
SPEAKER_06So that one's gonna have more books
Marker 1
SPEAKER_06too. I think it's gonna be three maybe. I don't know. I haven't kept up with it. The annoying thing about that one is that it was going to be coming out this year, I think September even, and then it keeps getting pushed back. And that seems to be happening with a lot of books lately, of books getting like setting release dates and then getting pushed back for whatever reason.
SPEAKER_02You know, I think every time that shit happens is just about money.
SPEAKER_06You think so?
SPEAKER_02I think it's always money.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02And I don't even know who you're talking about or what you're talking about, but anytime shit's delayed like that, I'm always just thinking, oh, this is just money. This is building something, it's marketing. It maybe not, you know.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and that's the thing. I mean, uh I don't know. I I don't know if that's the case or not. I know a lot of things happen with like publishing and like publishers, and you know, there's also people saying, Oh, well, you know, when there's other really big books coming out at that time, they choose to delay it so that it's not getting lost in the salts, which is probably fair. I mean, there's definitely lots of books coming out this fall that are gonna be big competition in that in that genre. So I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I've read zero news articles about it in my life, so I'm gonna take your word for it. Okay, good.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02All right, and you got more? Well, is that was three?
SPEAKER_06Well, that was three, but I was like that one and this other series completely like I wouldn't say out of left field, it's a romantic, but it's like a dark romantic, I guess. Crown me dead. That was the one that I cried about. You remember that one? And then I was telling you about it, and I could not tell you about it without crying.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06But like in the best way, yeah. And that's the thing is like I typically do not like books that make me cry. Like, I there's some people who love that. Like that they just love to like just get their heart ripped out of their chest. I do not feel that way. Yeah, I I do not want to cry when I'm reading a book. I don't want it to be sad, even in a good way. But this one, and she like she's an interesting author because she has written other books too that are just like way outside of my comfort zone. Again, like dark kind of stuff, but just are so thought-provoking that you can't stop thinking about them after you've read them. And so her name's Liv Xander.
SPEAKER_02I think Okay, honorable mention Live, Live or Liz. Live. Live. Yeah. L I V. Mm-hmm. Okay. And now you're making a second guess it. Or Liz.
SPEAKER_06I tried to do one of the really popular like hockey romance series. Like those are like super duper popular right now. It's like contemporary romances with like hockey romances.
SPEAKER_02Hockey.
SPEAKER_06Hockey.
SPEAKER_02Like the sport of hockey.
SPEAKER_06The sport of hockey.
SPEAKER_02Is getting popular in romanticy? Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_06Not romantic, it's romance. Or romance. Like contemporary romance, because it's not like magic or anything. Like just romance. They are very popular right now. Okay. Could not do it.
SPEAKER_02Shout out hockey. Yeah. NHO. Now the showkin, playing one more year, no big deal.
SPEAKER_06The show that prompted me to read one of those off campus, I really enjoyed that. It was like a very guilty pleasure kind of show. Yeah. Um that was the one that's what you you saw like a lot of penises.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Just one scene.
SPEAKER_02That's cool.
SPEAKER_06But it was multiple.
SPEAKER_02It was just dicks and one scene.
SPEAKER_06It was. Which, you know, is usually like, you know, kind of the thing with the type of books that we read.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, shout out dicks.
SPEAKER_06You know, I I couldn't do that book. I couldn't do that book series. And I think there's a lot of people that really, really obviously super love those. There's so many that are coming out that it's just like people can't get enough of them. Well, that's exciting. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And and all the penises. And all the penises. That's exciting too. So well, that's exciting that you at least have so many books that you've read that you like that you couldn't even narrow it down to three.
SPEAKER_06I've read a lot of good books. A lot of good ones. Like none that are life-changing. Like no, there's no then no fourth wings, obviously. But speaking of fourth wings.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the the threshing book.
SPEAKER_06Book news.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So September, right?
SPEAKER_06September. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02And it's a threshing book about 13.
SPEAKER_06I think so. Thirteen writers? I think it was 13. Who do you think the 13 are going to be?
SPEAKER_02So I th I think we're going back in time, right? Like I think we're getting somebody's dad, somebody's grandfather, early writers, something like that. I think we're getting somebody way in the past.
SPEAKER_06Okay. I agree with that. I hope so. I would love that.
SPEAKER_02Like old in the past.
SPEAKER_06I think I would like that honestly more than current people.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and I think we're gonna get current.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But I think it's gonna be a mix. Like if it's 13, if that's the number, I think you get like eight or nine current two or three of like the parents, you know. A dad, you know, who knows, Violet's dad, maybe. Well, he didn't go through threshing, so Violet's mom, maybe or something if that's important. You know, who knows? Something like that. And then I think you get like a random, like way back outside.
SPEAKER_06So that people are saying the first six, okay? But here's my question. Could you even get the first six? Because threshing wasn't like a thing. Like it, you know, and maybe the act of bonding with a dragon, sure, but it wouldn't have been like a threshing day, right? You know what I mean? Like threshing day came apart, I would assume, after the college was created.
SPEAKER_02So And maybe we are, and I you know, who knows? I don't see it because the first six things, all of that is so secretive and so like we've got none of it through three books. We've got nothing. I just don't see her in this random drop giving you everything like that. I I just don't see that.
SPEAKER_06I don't either. Did you see what she said about dragons too?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_06So she said, like somebody asked, like, was it a bitch? Well, she said, like some people asked, is it was it gonna be one of the dragons POVs? Yeah. And she said, No, the dragons know too much. So it can't be one of their POVs.
SPEAKER_02I'm telling you, Venom, something's up. Everything's up. Damn, I love that series so much. Yeah. I can't wait. I can't wait for any of the shit to come up.
SPEAKER_06Do you feel like you're gonna feel the need to reread any prior to the threshing book, or are you just gonna go into the threshing book like I'm gonna go in raw?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, I am. Well, that's the term. I don't, you know.
SPEAKER_06I don't think that's the term. Is that a particular scenario?
SPEAKER_02Um maybe. Sorry, gals. Listen, I I don't work with women. I mean you live with one. I live with a couple females, but yeah. I've my entire life basically, I have only worked with men.
SPEAKER_06I think you do fine. I think you do fine. You're a feminist.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but sometimes uh I don't I don't talk that way.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'm a dirty pirate. A dirty pirate. I say or and shit.
SPEAKER_06You do. So you're not gonna reread anything going into the thrusting book.
SPEAKER_02But are you?
SPEAKER_06Uh probably not. I was thinking about like literally using our notes, like especially like our big summaries, like after it was like when we would do at the end of books or whatever. I was thinking about using those to kind of just refresh my memory. Um but no, I don't think that I will have the opportunity to reread all of them before then. I don't know, maybe listen to them, but I doubt it. I'll definitely want to reread before book four, though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_06For sure. Um so shall we move into the meat of the episode?
SPEAKER_02See, you getting on me about saying things and then you bring meat. Yeah, I guess.
SPEAKER_06So again, I feel like we should have probably established at the beginning of this episode what our plan is. We haven't explained anything, we haven't said what we're what we're doing.
SPEAKER_02While we're even talking.
SPEAKER_06Is that something we should go back and put in in the beginning?
SPEAKER_02Nah, we'll be fine. So this is the thing. It'll be in the title. You know, it'll be in the title. Fuck that shit. Also, if you're new. Justin doesn't like to do editing. I don't fuck with that anything like that. Like, you gotta really fuck up for me to edit some shit out. Like, if you want to ask me a question like that, it's for the world to hear.
SPEAKER_06Plan on everybody hearing that.
SPEAKER_02And the actual act of like cutting that stuff out doesn't take a crazy amount of time. We're not talking about crazy stuff here. It's just like, nah, I don't really do that. Um, you're just gonna get it. You're gonna get the awkwardness. Yeah. You know, you're gonna get all of it.
SPEAKER_06You are. Well, let's now take the time to explain what our plan for the podcast is.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, please.
SPEAKER_06So obviously we're gonna bullshit.
SPEAKER_02That's my that's a little bit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06We are going to talk about what books we're reading. Yes. We're going to talk about what shows we're watching. And just general. Like we're just going to chat.
SPEAKER_02We're just going to talk. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And so that's going to be part of it for sure. Prepare for that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So if you don't like small talk, then you're not going to like that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It's like the the woman that lives in our town that that's her intro about the small talk thing.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. It is.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But for right now, the focus is going to be live reaction reading of Justin. Reading A Court of Thorns and Roses. Yeah. And not necessarily like obviously live, but meaning we're just going at whatever pace he wants to go at. And we're going to get his take. And I'm going to ask him some questions and kind of, you know, lead him in certain directions. But we're not going to have spoilers beyond what Justin has read. And so that's going to be important. So like, now granted, it's like one of the most popular ministry series on the planet. I know nothing about it. You don't know anything about it. A lot of people listening to us probably do, but not necessarily everybody. But if you want to read along with Justin, you're able to. We'll obviously put in there what chapters we're going to be covering. This is also not a deep dive. Need that to be real queer. Like real queer. Real clear. Shut out of the game. You're not going to be TQ. Edit that out either.
SPEAKER_02I'm not. Like I said, shut out, guess. And go.
SPEAKER_06We are not going to be doing a deep dive. We're not going to be taking extensive notes. I very much was a passenger princess reading Avatar. And you are too. Because I also listen to it. And that's the same thing that you're doing. Yeah. So I definitely don't know. Like, you know, reading, I feel like you can't get but so deep when you're doing an audiobook in terms of like being able to really dissect and remember.
SPEAKER_02You have to like go back, re-listen. You have to really like, or at least I do. I lose focus and then I blink and I'm like, fuck, I didn't driven six miles. I don't know what the hell she's talking about.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. So this is like this is like going on Avatar vibes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And just general I'm doing my best, guys. Reactions, how we feel about it.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_06So I have a very interesting question for you.
SPEAKER_02Okay, you just hit and start straight to questions. Okay, hit me with it.
SPEAKER_06No. If you want to get it.
SPEAKER_02No, I want you to.
SPEAKER_06You give us a synopsis of what you read so far.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I might need you to help fill in some blanks.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna do the best that I can.
SPEAKER_06All right.
SPEAKER_02The last thing that I remember, and I've I've read through chapter, I think, fifteen, maybe fourteen or fifteen, something like that.
SPEAKER_06I think you said fifteen. Fifteen? Yeah. So this is chapters one through fifteen we're talking about.
SPEAKER_02There's the she seems like a creepy lady to me, and her fingers are clacking in the woods.
SPEAKER_06The cereal.
SPEAKER_02Sereal. Yes. And cereal, and that's that's the thing that sticks with me, is her fingers are clacking.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. And I'm just like You're just jumping so far in. Like that's like way down.
SPEAKER_02What do you mean? I thought you said a synopsis of what I've read. Alright, this is what I remember.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but like usually synopsis go in order.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06So And it does not start with the cereal.
SPEAKER_02No, it starts with the main character. I forget her name. But her name is Farah. That is Pharaoh. She's with her dad and her sisters, and her sisters are really mean, and her dad is like doesn't do anything. He's got bummedy or something.
SPEAKER_06We're gonna get into that.
SPEAKER_02Mom's dead. Okay. See, and I'm just like gonna gloss over it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's the background, and then she it there there's like this wall or invisible wall or something. It's like the fairies or whatever on one side, and then they're on this side, but then she kills a I don't know, a dog or a wolf or something, and shoots it in the face, I think, in the eye or something, and sells its skin, and then another thing shows up in the woods and it's like, What the fuck? Why'd you kill my boy?
SPEAKER_05They should have to her house, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, I was like, kill my boy.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And she's like, or like who killed my boy? And she was like, It's me. He's like, Well, you gotta come live in this fairy world now forever. Because you killed that dog, and she's like, Well, I didn't know the dog was your friend. And he was like, Too bad. And she's like, Well, I got responsibilities. He's like, Be a dick. Let's go. Like, let's go right now. So she goes, and she was a caretaker kind of like she did all the hunting and all the things, I guess, for her family, and her sisters were like so we're just kind of mean, maybe. I don't know, dad did nothing. So then they're in the fairy world place, and he's like, Yeah, stay at my castle, and this is my boy, he's got a robot eye, don't look at it, he doesn't like that a lot.
SPEAKER_05So Lucian.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Lucian, and Lucian's eyes like rolling around and shit. So she's like, I hate it here, and she keeps trying to get out. And he's like, I'm not gonna hurt you. Oh, yeah, because there's rules. She's gotta come there because there's some documents at some point that say you gotta do this. I think. So she's gotta go. So she gets there and he's like, I don't make the rules. That's what the documents say. And she's like, Well, I'm gonna leave because I I don't want to be here, obviously. And he's like, Don't, and she's like, You're gonna kill me. He's like, I promise I'm not gonna kill you, but don't try to leave because there's things out there that might try to kill you, or other fairies that might try to kill you, maybe too. They might. And then she's like, Mm-hmm, I gotta take care of my family. So she tries to leave maybe a couple times, you know, she keeps getting like caught or whatever, and then he's like, I'm not gonna fucking hurt you, like, chill out, and then there's this chick that I think works in the castle, and she's like, He's not gonna hurt you, chill out, but don't go in the woods and stuff, so she's like, Fuck you. I think she sees her dad, that's not really her dad, it's like another thing, and that tries to get out there and eat her or that thing, and his friends were gonna eat her, but it's like pretending to like be something, which was her dad. And then like she the bog is somewhere in the woods, and the bog is like really scary, I guess, to Lucian, but not to Tamlin. Tamlin's like, I'll fuck that shit up, and everybody's like, Tamlin will fuck that shit up. And she's like, Well, how? And they're like, 'Cause he's strong and shit, and he can fuck it everything up.
SPEAKER_05Everything.
SPEAKER_02Like everything's just like I'm gonna go kill this bog. Everybody else is scared of shit of this thing. So then she tries to escape again, maybe. Or Lucian was gonna help her escape or something. I can't remember, but some I think Lucian was like, Oh, if I was gonna escape, I would do this, and she tried to do it, and she ran into the clacky fingers lady, and the clacky fingers lady was like, You can trust Tamlin, he's cool. He's the spring court high fairy, and High Lord. High Lord. And there's there's like a spring, a summer, autumn, fall, night, day, winter, summer, something like that. There's like a bunch of those, I think. Some of those are real, some I don't know all of them, but something like that. And he's the spring, he's this world realm, you know, court, whatever. He's the big dog.
SPEAKER_05He is the big dog.
SPEAKER_02And he won't he won't kill you or whatever, like you can hang with him. So she's like, bet, clacky lady. And then all of a sudden, I don't remember how, she's in with these these I don't know, other people.
SPEAKER_06Well, and the serial tells her to stay with him, right? Well, she says, stay with the High Lord.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, stay with the High Lord or whatever, I guess.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's gonna be important later.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So then she comes across these monster things that are gonna eat her or kill her or fillet her skin off or whatever.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And, you know, she kind of was like fucking one of them up. And I was like, mm, this seems weird because she's this human that they're like, you're puny and you suck and mortal, and we're like immortal monsters and fairies. I'm like, I don't know. She kind of called Joel's number twice.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Really. So in my head, I'm thinking, do we have like another like violet slash who's the ether?
SPEAKER_05Poppy.
SPEAKER_02Poppy. You know, we have something like that going on.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Maybe I don't know what this book's about. I I don't know anything about it. I'm just associating it with like those types of she's a powerful goddess or something.
SPEAKER_06So we're trying to figure things out.
SPEAKER_02And so she's like fucks one or two of them up, and they're like fighting her, and they're about to fuck her up, and then all of a sudden Tamlin shows up and he just fucks these things up. He's also like Wolverine, he's got claws that come out of his skin, so he's Wolverine. So he fucked them up with the water. So Tamlin is Wolverine. Tamlin is definitely Wolverine because claws that come out.
SPEAKER_05Alright.
SPEAKER_02So Wolverine Tamlin fucked them things up, and then he was like, I don't know, hot to her or whatever. She's like, oh shit, this man is fuckable.
SPEAKER_06He's a little bit fine.
SPEAKER_02And then that's kind of where I think it Oh, and he was like, I told you.
SPEAKER_05That I was fine.
SPEAKER_02Oh I was fine. Look at me. And she was like, and he was like, Why'd you try to leave? And she was like, I gotta take care of my family, you know, they suck and all of them fucking suck. Yeah, they'll die to die, and I promised my mom. He was like, Motherfucker, how many times do I gotta tell you they're taken care of? Like they're fed, better, you know, whatever. He says, he claims, I don't know this man. You know, I like Wolverine, Tamlin, I don't know. But he says they're fed, they're warm, they're taken care of, like they're fine. You need to be here, you gonna be here. That's the deal. You ain't gotta stay in my castle, but you're gonna be in this court. And then she gets back to the castle and she like takes a nap and showers up and wakes up and she's like, Well, he did say that they took care of my family.
SPEAKER_06So I'm good.
SPEAKER_02So I'll just stay here now. I'm probably just gonna see what's up, and then that's where I let off.
SPEAKER_06So that was a lot. That was actually a lot more, and I listened to some of it with you, but not all of it. But I have already read it a couple times, and I did not remember how much was in the beginning there.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Mainly because that book in general, it seems like there's so much at the end that you feel like the rest of it maybe wasn't as high energy.
SPEAKER_02Well, the only thing you've told me so far is that the last 10% of this book is not what I think it is. Or you're it's like 90% goes one way. Totally different.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I mean, I think a lot of people would agree with that that the last part of that book is a pretty big deviation from where it is now in terms of like just what's going on and like a lot of different things. But yeah, I've I didn't realize that there was as much that happened in the beginning of that book. You've gotten a lot of information so far. Well, that's my synopsis. Still don't have a lot of information. Okay. So let me ask you a question first.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, please do. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06The first one is gonna probably be the trickiest one. How do you think that you spell Farah?
SPEAKER_02Well, okay. Because you're listening, you're not reading. I would have said F-A-R-R-A-H.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that is how Farah is spelled.
SPEAKER_02But her, I'm gonna go more like it's like a burrow, like it's a foro type of thing. So I'm gonna go F O U.
SPEAKER_06Well, the way she pronounces in the book often is Fera.
SPEAKER_02Ferah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Can you pronounce it how you would pronounce it if you were reading it? Would it be Fera? How would you pronounce it?
SPEAKER_06That's the tricky part about this because there's another character we're gonna get to eventually, and I'm gonna ask you how you think you spell his name. But usually that one's like people more reading it or mispronouncing it. That's uh there's a lot of that in these books. So I don't know how would I would have pronounced it. I I guess I might have said if I was looking at it, I might have said fair. I don't know that I would said fair.
SPEAKER_02Okay. How do you spell that joint?
SPEAKER_06You tell me. That this is a question for you.
SPEAKER_02And it's not how I just said fera. How do you say it incorrectly?
SPEAKER_06What do you mean how to say it incorrectly? The way they pronounce it in the audiobook is more like fair.
SPEAKER_02Fahrra.
SPEAKER_06And I looking at it might have said fair? I don't know. I would have struggled with it.
SPEAKER_02F-A-Y-A-R.
SPEAKER_06You're getting close. It's F E Y R E.
SPEAKER_02F-E, what?
SPEAKER_06F-E-Y.
SPEAKER_02Fey R E. Faery.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I see I would have said Fay R, but I can't read.
SPEAKER_06Which, you know.
SPEAKER_02Not well. I mean, I can read, obviously, this is about books, but you know what I mean? Like, I can't read some shit like that and tell you how to actually say it correctly.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, I don't know that I would have succeeded on that either. But like audiobooks. Yeah. Those are very important in this one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I thought it was Farah.
SPEAKER_06You're already coming out ahead.
SPEAKER_02Like the teen mom that did porn.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, like that one. That is the most famous Pharaoh that I've since that's a Pharaoh.
SPEAKER_02I was like, that's the only one I can think of.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. So what are your thoughts about Pharaoh so far?
SPEAKER_02Uh what's what?
SPEAKER_06What's your opinion of her?
SPEAKER_02Oh well. So if I had to based on nothing, know nothing, so far the vibe that I get is that she there's a secret being hidden from her. She's not actually the sister to those two girls and the son to that dude. Just like immediately off the bat, I'm just like, nah, this ain't real family. Something's up with this. I don't think that's it. So I think she but she don't have pointy ears and the fairy people are supposed to say or Faye. Are they fairies or Faye?
SPEAKER_05Both.
SPEAKER_02Can I call them fairies? For whatever reason, that just seems less emasculating than Faye.
SPEAKER_05Sure.
SPEAKER_02Because when I say Faye, I'm just like, I don't that didn't roll off my tongue. Fairies, I've been saying fairy my whole life. I mean, like that's been a word I've known forever. Call them fairies.
SPEAKER_06I think it's fine. Now it I'm sure that there is probably somebody listening who was like they're not the same thing, as far as we're concerned, they're the same thing.
SPEAKER_02I'm not your personal that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. There's a lot of different type of Faye. Yeah. Like obviously, like you're you've you've met several different types so far. So there's high fay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And then there's like all these other creatures.
SPEAKER_02Okay. See, I'm more of the type of person that if you're like even saying it wrong, like, then I'm gonna say it that way forever. I'm I'm like the worst type of person of that kind of stuff. So I'm gonna call them fairies. I thought the fairies had pointy ears, they did fangs and things like that. So I don't think she's a fairy.
SPEAKER_06She doesn't have the physical characteristics of the Faye right now. No.
SPEAKER_02But there's magic in this world. So has there been some spells put on her whatever that could possibly cover up the way she she appears? So she's not appearing as though. Okay. So I think there's some secrets there, but outside of my just very I'm just this is a fantasy book, right? Like there's gonna be some crazy shit.
SPEAKER_06So you're not like annoyed by her or think she's dumb.
SPEAKER_02Well, with the first introduction, she said, do do myself. And I was like, what the fuck?
SPEAKER_06That is not the first time she's gonna say that neither.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think the watery bowels comes up more than once. Watery bowels? Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Diarrhea? Watery bowels.
SPEAKER_02Don't be boo-booing on yourself. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That is not something that you will never see again. You'll interesting. You'll see it again.
SPEAKER_02Well, other than that, which I it caught me off guard. I don't have a problem with her being like, I shit myself. It was just like she was scared. I'm like, okay, that's fine.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, but I don't think she actually said that she shit herself. I think it was more like a white.
SPEAKER_02She soiled herself. And I was just like, all right, that's what's up.
SPEAKER_06Again, not a deep dive. Either way. Don't come to us for facts.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm fairly certain she says she soiled herself. But anyway, because I remember being like, what the fuck? Why? It was like page two. So it just happened so early. But no, that obviously it seems like her education stopped early according to Have they told you that she can't read yet?
SPEAKER_06Has that come up? Yeah, yeah. By not laughing you said that's a good idea. No, because it's funny. Like we're both illiterate girl. Let's see what this book is about.
SPEAKER_02Like well, yeah, it it was like, you know, she didn't get an education or whatever. She can't read. She was sounding out some words, you know, and that's tough stuff. The audiobook really is tough. Because I think it's fucked up when people can't read, because I'm just like, why like why not? Like how that's a parental thing to me. Like you didn't put your kid in school, or they have a learning disability.
SPEAKER_06It's like a privileged thing, I'm sure.
SPEAKER_02Like either there's a learning, like you have a learning disability, so you struggle to read, or your parents didn't put you in school.
SPEAKER_05Like different circumstances.
SPEAKER_02In my simple brain, those are two things.
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_02But so I'm like, oh well, she didn't go to school. Like her parents didn't put her in school, so that's why she can't read. But then she's sounding words out pretty good. Pretty quick. Yeah, and I was like words. I was like she went from zero to a doing pretty good pretty quick. So I'm like, all right, well, did her parents really not put her in school? Did she not have a learning disability? Is it just something she's always known and she's remembered? So again, I think her past isn't her past.
SPEAKER_06Well, and her family dynamics, that is something that I wanted to discuss with you. Is I and I think because I've read the whole series and I've gotten more of them and more of the backstory, I probably have a stronger opinion than you.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But what was your initial opinion of that whole scenario? Of like so the backstory seemed like they were awful. Well, yeah, and like the backstory is that it's like it's been eight years, I guess, since they lost their fortune and the dad like got his kneecaps broken and shit from like debts where they just came in and my dad's kind of a pussy because he has standards.
SPEAKER_02She basically said that and I was just like, I mean, I'm not here to agree or disagree.
SPEAKER_06Is she wrong?
SPEAKER_02But I need to know what happened. Was it like eight guys came up in there and just started beating on him with a baseball bat? How are you supposed to stop that?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and I I for sure am not necessarily saying I'm not faulting him necessarily for the the injuries. Like, you know, shit. Like you couldn't have like fought them off. But just never trying to like his reaction beyond then and being like, Oh, I can't get around real well, so I'm just gonna sit in here while my young daughters like starve and while they take care of me.
SPEAKER_02So it that's how it's portrayed is that her sisters are terrible, like privileged kids who had money. Yeah. Who lost it. Dad got injured after mom died for not paying his debts, I guess some bookies or some shit. So they beat him up and then instead of healing and whatever, he just sat around and sat around and just did nothing.
SPEAKER_06Did nothing. And Farah's the youngest.
SPEAKER_02Farah's the youngest, and she's a hunter and she paints.
SPEAKER_06Like, why need the other? I'm just as irritated with the sisters. Like, you know, why are they just like we could not possibly learn a skill? And it's like when I was like first reading it, you're kind of like, oh, well, maybe it's like the time period of like women weren't necessarily able to do certain things. But clearly they were. They're mercenary and the market was a woman.
SPEAKER_01Well, and what was the is it Cinderella? What was the one where she had two wicked evil stepmother and sisters? Yeah, Cinderella. Cinderella. I kind of got Cinderella type vibes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02With the sisters just being like Yeah, yeah. Kind of like awful. So that's I don't know. But again, I think I think something else is at play here. I don't think the past is a past. Okay. Um but if I'm wrong, then yeah, dad sucks. Like, I'm sure your knee's busted, but I don't know, get a cane, motherfucker, go to work. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And the sisters, I'd be like again, the sisters, like why I'd be like, oh, I'm hunting.
SPEAKER_02You're not eating this food.
SPEAKER_06Like, why couldn't one of them have learned pottery or basket weaving and sold that shit in the market? Like, it just doesn't make sense to me. Like, I I struggle. I struggled with that for sure when I was reading it for the first time. So let's get into Tamlin.
SPEAKER_02Tamlin. Okay.
SPEAKER_06What are your thoughts on Tamlin?
SPEAKER_02So I believe Tamlin is at least the initial love interest. I don't know. Like he maybe he dies in this fucking book. I don't know. But at least initially seems like he's love interest number one. At first, I'm kind of like, oh, well, is Lucian gonna be like part? But then the robot eye starts going, and I'm like, I just I don't see it.
SPEAKER_06You don't see the robot at eye.
SPEAKER_02The eye fucks her up. She'd mention it long. She's like, I don't know that fucking weird ass eye.
SPEAKER_06So it's Made Eye Moody.
SPEAKER_02Made Eye Moody, right?
SPEAKER_06That's what it reminded me of. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That's kind of what I'm picturing. Yeah. I mean, maybe not to that degree. More like, you know, fit and you know, killer type of person.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'm not not picturing specifically as Mad Eye Moody. I am picturing the eye.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would moving all around shit. So initial love interest, who knows? Yeah, I buy the whole king or you know, high faith, spring court, okay, cool. He seems like again, he's not hurting her. He's not I don't know what's up with the rules. I don't believe that like he couldn't change this law for whatever reason. He wants her. And I don't know if because she doesn't know who she is, but he knows who she really is, and she, you know, there's some prior connection there, which goes along with like she her past ain't really her past. Like, you know. I don't know if that's what it is, but yeah, he's oddly like maybe jealous of Lucian and like won't hurt her, won't you know, I don't know. Okay. He seems like he has feelings for her.
SPEAKER_06Camlin has feelings for Farah, you mean that's the way that it appears, yeah. Okay. That's I think that's fair. Okay. And you think he's an okay guy?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, I'm sure when he's off like killing shit, he's you know, killing shit, but yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Well, we'll we'll continue to to monitor your thoughts on everybody as you continue to read.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_06What do you think is going on with the whole curse situation? What are your thoughts about that?
SPEAKER_01Oh, like the mask they can't take off.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so like they told you that there was like a a ball or something where this curse was put on them or they can't take the mask off.
SPEAKER_02It's been like fifty years or something.
SPEAKER_06Right. And the magic, there's like an issue with magic also.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I I don't understand. Yeah, that's basically we just discussed what I know about that. Any further questions?
SPEAKER_06You don't have any predictions or theories about what is gonna happen with that.
SPEAKER_02I assume the mask will come off at some point. I don't understand. They're not odd cursed. They're like Wolverine claws and talons and shit, canines are coming out, and then They're just like normal, just pointy year dudes with a mask on like half their face or whatever. And it's like, Mm, okay. I guess the mask is gonna come off and the other side of their face is either gonna be the same and they're like, Oh, look at these handsome men. Or it's gonna be like who they really look like is fairies or whatever, and it's like And that's gonna be a bad thing. Yeah, and that's gonna be gonna be like scary. Wait, like that, you know how that's the other scary shit that's been trying to attack her?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, the I don't know if it was the click-clack lady or the maid lady in the house who was like, hey, like there's all this shit that can take you out in the woods, like these you know, things that'll hurt you for real, and there's other fairies that'll hurt you or whatever, you know, like and kill you. So I'm thinking, well, what if those things that were out there are actually fairies? Oh you know, and maybe they're not wearing their masks, and the mask is what either lets them look like semi-human, like nice to look at. Ooh. What a plot twist. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Because they take the masks off and they turn into scary monsters. Yeah. Well, I can't say that's what's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_06But it sounds like you're writing a real good book over there.
SPEAKER_02I'm trying.
SPEAKER_06I enjoy it.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, that's you know, again, I don't know if that's just my thoughts because I don't know shit.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and that's the thing, and you're gonna continue to not know shit, and there will be lots of things that it that come out as you read along. But I think that's what's fun about this is that again, no spoilers.
SPEAKER_02No. So I won't be saying them.
SPEAKER_06What what Justin has.
SPEAKER_02It's training camp. They won't come across my feed.
SPEAKER_06Well, I don't think anybody's posting spoilers about Avatar anymore. It's not an exactly a new book. My last thought topic. They've had several meals since she's been there.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06What are your thoughts on fairy food?
SPEAKER_01Damn, remind me what the fairy food was.
SPEAKER_06All kinds of yummy, delicious, and she just describes it as being like the most flavorful that like you can't even go back to human food anymore after you eat it. It's so fucking good.
SPEAKER_02I just thought it was because she's just been starved for like eight years and no, there's a clear difference in fairy food.
SPEAKER_06I and see that's the thing. It's like clearly I'm just such a fat kid because I could not read that book without just every time they had a meal just being like, that sounds so delicious. And I wish that I could eat fairy food.
SPEAKER_02I thought when she was eating, it was just this is a girl that's been starved and just been eating skinny deer during the winter and like a slice of bread here and there she's having to share with her.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and I think that's part of it. But you know, she wasn't always poor. Yeah. She had had, you know, they were wealthy before.
SPEAKER_01I guess. And how was she supposed to be?
SPEAKER_06I don't know. I think like 1920.
SPEAKER_01She's that old? Okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I think so. I think she's supposed to be like 1920. Uh don't quote me on that. I'm not positive, but I believe that's how old she's supposed to be.
SPEAKER_02No, I wish I had a deeper thought. I just thought she was just she hadn't eaten right in a decade.
SPEAKER_06I want to go to Prithian so I can eat fairy food.
SPEAKER_02I'm getting the vibe that my all my negative thoughts are not real. Like, because if you would ask me to go farther, I'd have been like, well, following on the fairies are bad and they're ugly under that mask and they're these monsters, then this food ain't really food that she's eaten. She's eaten like you know, bloody gory.
SPEAKER_06Ooh, so it's all a facade. It's not just the people themselves. It's like the whole scene as a facade. Which would be uh make a lot of sense because of how beautiful like the spring court is described.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_06Do you know much about the courts yet?
SPEAKER_02No, it's just always spring there.
SPEAKER_06Like the temperature But like they haven't described any of the other ones?
SPEAKER_02No, I just put from context clues that summer's probably hot as a bitch, and winter's cold and snowy, and night's night, and day's day.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Where do you think you would want to to live? Just based solely on names as of right now. Obviously, you're gonna get more information about them later. Fall. You think fall?
SPEAKER_02Or is it fall or autumn? Autumn, but you know, same shit. I'll take autumn court.
SPEAKER_06Yeah?
SPEAKER_02Why? Football season?
SPEAKER_06I don't think they have football in Prithian.
SPEAKER_02It's you know, it's the end of like we all love the summer. Like summer's great, it's warm. Pools and beaches and lakes and rivers and such. And then but at the end, and then school's out, you know, the good stuff. And then like school goes back in, and then it's like just you're tired. You're just like, I don't want to be fucking hot anymore. So then then autumn hits and you're like the leaves are changing.
SPEAKER_05Autumn's still pretty hot here most of the time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but you get those cool winds come through, and it's like football season. That's pretty much it.
SPEAKER_05So football.
SPEAKER_06So a few different other random things all for you to get back to football.
SPEAKER_02Just for people who don't know, not me, but for the listeners who don't know, there's what what do you think the difference in autumn and fall is? There is no difference in autumn and fall. Right, okay.
SPEAKER_06There's different names.
SPEAKER_02I but that's I was making sure.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. No, I get for them. I really can't answer because I I already know a lot about the other courts. Okay. So I wouldn't be able to say which one I would want to live in. I think like, you know, autumn, autumn's interesting. I I do love that as a season, but I have I love all the seasons, I think.
SPEAKER_02Well, it depends. So, like I said, in summer, the water stuff, I'm loving it. Kids are at school, I love it, I enjoy all the stuff. So I j I love summer. But then fall is football season.
SPEAKER_06And but again, they don't have football in Prithian.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I don't know shit about Prithian, and I can bring it there. Okay. So and Billson's gonna bring football to Pritthean. Football to Prithian. So I like fall for that. And again, I'm tired of the heat at that point, and I'm like, fuck, I'm ready for it to be cold. And then winter comes and I'm like, fuck yeah, football, holidays, family, you know, you might get some snow, you get to do some sledding and skiing and fun stuff, and it gets dark early, so you can look at the stars.
SPEAKER_06How did this conversation just turn into talking about seasons?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Maybe you look at the stars and shit, and you're like, that's sick. And so that's all fun, so I like that. And then it's spring, and you're just like, Whew, I was tired of the cold, I'm ready for the warm. It's nice, hikes, rivers, fishing season. You know. Well, and that's where it's a baseball season, but that shit ain't gonna happen next year because the motherfucker. Yeah. Yeah, it's gonna be canceled. It's gonna be a lockout.
SPEAKER_06We think so.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we don't need to talk about sports, but baseball's gonna be a lockout next year. No. And that's gonna kill the bold prediction. It's gonna kill the sport. Okay. Oh, it's not a bold prediction. That's it's gonna happen. Oh. Yep. So yeah, that's my reasoning of I like all the seasons.
SPEAKER_06But autumn court would be where you'd want. And you know that's where Lucian is from. So Autumn Court.
SPEAKER_02I don't think that I knew that. You didn't know that. Maybe I did. Oops. I don't it it if it's supposed to be important, it's not important to me.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and it might not have been.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And they might not have told you.
SPEAKER_02And I could have missed that sentence.
SPEAKER_06Um they might not have told you yet. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Well, if it's significant, it's not to me yet.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Well, that's interesting. Nice. So that's that's Avatar, chapters one through fifteen. And so that's the plan is a live reading reactions from Justin.
SPEAKER_02I love not having to deal with notes.
SPEAKER_06And uh we're also not like, and that's again, like getting into like the plan. We're doing a terrible job explaining the plan.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you guys will figure it the fuck out.
SPEAKER_06Well, the plan is that it's whatever however many chapters Justin feels like reading and is able to read. Like the next episode, he might have read the whole rest of the book. Who knows?
SPEAKER_02You might be done with Actor Book One. I slowed down, I don't know if that'll be the case, but I slowed down because I really was starting to read through them, and I was like, man, if I come in here and I've read 30 chapters and I'm like, Whew, I don't know if I can recite half this fucking book. Yeah. But maybe I could.
SPEAKER_06But yeah, from here on out But again, you don't have to recite the whole book because it's just like you like talking about like a general overview and your thoughts, your vibes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I love it.
SPEAKER_06And I'll come with some questions.
SPEAKER_02I like that. I think that's fun.
SPEAKER_06And we'll, you know, keep up with how you feel about certain characters and what I like that you know everything and I don't know shit. So then I again I would not say that I know everything. I read the books a long time ago, and I'm trying to like, you know, freshen up on them for sure, so that you know I can speak more intelligently to them. But we'll see. Yeah. Serious. Also important to note, we're not planning on necessarily doing weekly episodes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But we'll see how we feel. We'll do what we feel like.
SPEAKER_06It'll be kind of just like as we go along, it's just gonna be we put episodes out. Might not even be the same day the the week that they go out.
SPEAKER_02You're just gonna want us to like automatically download into your your stuff. You're not gonna want to try to keep up with us.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we'll post on Instagram, you know, when we're putting new episodes out.
SPEAKER_02So you'll mean you won't hear from us for months or anything. No. Um, it's just if we got something to say, we will. When that threshing book comes out, boom. If we want to do interviews, like we've you know, had a few people reach out.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we had like quite a bit actually reach out, wanting author interviews.
SPEAKER_02I mean, no big deal is a New York Times bestseller.
SPEAKER_06There was. There's a couple of those actually.
SPEAKER_02Um we'll see, we'll see how it goes. Honestly, that's how that's the kind of podcast this is. We've had some New York Times bestsellers be like, hey, we we want to do an interview. And I really just don't feel like it. Yeah. You know, just kind of just gonna read some Avatar.
SPEAKER_01Just gonna do that instead. Just gonna just gonna throw some questions at each other and bullshit.
SPEAKER_06But I think that that's important for the. Yeah, you know, I could see that happening. But I I feel like that's the important thing about this for us not to get kind of burnt out on it like we did before, is that we're busy people. We have full-time jobs. You know, obviously this is not our not our full-time gig. We can't do this regularly.
SPEAKER_02If you want to make us millionaires, yeah, I'd love that. That'd be cool. We'll make it our full time.
SPEAKER_06I don't need to be a millionaire. I just need to be uh have enough income not to have a full-time job. Where do you live? That'd be cool. Well, I mean millionaires to do that. I'm not making millions now.
SPEAKER_02You say just enough to not have to work. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, I'll take that. I don't mind going. Yeah. Actually I do. I hate it. But either who loves going to work? I would love to know. Do you love your jobs? Not you. We know our tr our answers. But to listeners, who is sitting at work right now, you know, click clacking their fingers on their like the cereal. Like a cereal. Is it cereal like you eat with milk? Nope. How do you think you spell it? C-E-R-E-A-O. Cereal. Is that how you spell cereal, first of all? Yes. Okay.
SPEAKER_06But not how you spell cereal.
SPEAKER_02Sereial. S-U-R-R-E-A-O.
SPEAKER_06No, we're getting closer though. S-U-R-I-E-O.
SPEAKER_02Sereal.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I'm pretty sure. Again, I'm reciting this from memory. So we'll see. Maybe.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So yeah, it's going to be fun. It's it's a fun podcast.
SPEAKER_06And it's going to be fun. We look forward to continuing to do it as we can. And I think that that'll be important too because it'll help keep it fresh, because it's not going to be just us trying to come up with something to talk about every week. Like you said, we'll when we have something to say, we'll say it.
SPEAKER_02I have decided that if we do some of the interviews, which I'm not anti- I like interviewing, I don't think that I can go down in history as being a serious person to talk to about books with a New York Times bestseller. And that's the thing. I know me. If they're like, we're going to set up these interviews, I'm like, fuck it. If I'm doing it, then I'm going to do it for real for me. And I'm going to ask him questions that have fucking nothing to do with the book.
SPEAKER_06I think that might be refreshing.
SPEAKER_02I am going, I'm like, dude, this guy's been asked, well, so what really made you get into wanting to be an author? He's like, I've answered this fucking question a thousand times. Read anything's going to tell me. I want to be like, I got a question for you. You walk into a bar and you're talking with this girl and everything's going great. And you guys are feeling good and she's feeling good. And y'all single people. And like, I mean, she's she is attractive. And she's attracted to you, and you guys have had two drinks. And so you guys are both like good. Everything is good. And she's like, look.
SPEAKER_05Where are you going?
SPEAKER_02Do you want to go back to my place with me? And he's like, Yeah, okay. So he does. And he's like, oh, are you asking him a question or are you telling him a story? No, yeah, I'm getting to the question. Okay. And he's like, Oh, God, hold on before we go to your place. Now here's the question. My man, this is you. Are you ready? Mm-hmm. You have to shit so bad.
SPEAKER_05Oh no.
SPEAKER_02Are you A gonna tell her to hold on and walk to this bar's bathroom? What a dilemma. If you've ever been in a bar's bathroom. Or are you gonna go with this beautiful woman to her home and destroy her bathroom before trying to engage in what you're gonna engage in? Or C, you're just gonna try to hold it.
SPEAKER_05Oh no. I feel like there's another option.
SPEAKER_02Or D, you go home and go home. So what do you choose?
SPEAKER_05I would go home.
SPEAKER_02Going to the bar bathroom. Yeah. But that's my question for the for the New York Times best selling author.
SPEAKER_06Slash story.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, story.
SPEAKER_06It really set a scene for that one.
SPEAKER_02I want to know your answer to that. Well I want to know if you know.
SPEAKER_06That is probably not a question that they would have been asked before.
SPEAKER_02Probably not.
SPEAKER_06I would say that's fair.
SPEAKER_02Sir, do you know what cover two defense is?
SPEAKER_06If I say they might be embarrassed for not knowing that.
SPEAKER_02I want to line up in an eye formation.
SPEAKER_06I don't know that.
SPEAKER_02No, but I want to know if he or she does. I want to know what they're scared of.
SPEAKER_05What they're scared of. Yeah. That's a deepest fear. That's a fun question.
SPEAKER_02What are you scared of? Like, what's your deepest fear?
SPEAKER_05What's mine? Yeah. Well, I mean, like, I mean, besides the obvious something happened to your kid.
SPEAKER_02Like, not the bummer shit. Like, not real shit. What are you actually scared of that's not that?
SPEAKER_06Like lots of small insects all at once.
SPEAKER_02Like like fear factor? Like a thing and they're dumping.
SPEAKER_06Well, not even just that, but just like, you know, if it happens in real life, like, you know, you get a bunch of like today that happened to me. Today I had two little spiders on me.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. Yeah. But they were red. Yeah, that was really scary. I don't know. We don't have red spiders.
SPEAKER_06I don't know if that was that was very scary. But yeah, that would that would be top, probably top level of fear for me. Is it's like it could be ants, but if there was a lot of them and they were on me, mm-mm.
SPEAKER_02Can't do it. Yeah. So I think mine would be again, not the normal stuff, which I I guess include in like, you know, trying to reach you but not ever being able to. You know what I mean? Like you ever had those dreams like you're trying to get to something and like you're just not really moving? Like that's horrifying to me. Like have you ever had that dream where it's like Not exactly in that way.
SPEAKER_06Like if I had dreams like I'm trying to drive a car and it won't move, like, you know.
SPEAKER_02Like you're running to get to this item, but you're just not getting closer, and it's like you just maybe in my dreams they just know that I don't run, so like I just don't have dreams.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. You you used to run plenty. I mean, you were very active. You hike and you walk. Yeah. You work out. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'm not saying that I'm not doing anything. You just not like it.
SPEAKER_02Whatever reason, you for your whole life that we've known each other, which has been most of it. You're like, I fucking hate running. I do. I don't get it. I I hate it.
SPEAKER_06It hurts. It's it's it's tough. I have short legs.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Interesting. Okay. I think that's it.
SPEAKER_06I think that's it.
SPEAKER_02Did we have anything to watch? What have we been watching? We haven't talked about what we watched.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_02Who's that movie we talked about? Well, yeah. Hey, guess what? If you want to listen for two more minutes, let's talk about what we watched. What was that what was the movie we just watched? The dink. That was really good.
SPEAKER_06That was funny.
SPEAKER_02I liked the dink.
SPEAKER_06It was cute. It made me want to play pickleball.
SPEAKER_02Well, I watched the you know, the main actor or whatever. I love him from New Girl. I just hit my head on a fucking fan. Do you see that shit? Yeah. I bounced my head right off of that fan.
SPEAKER_01He did. Where in the fuck's that thing?
SPEAKER_02I've been sitting here for an hour.
SPEAKER_06It hasn't moved.
SPEAKER_02That bitch has been there the whole time.
SPEAKER_06It has.
SPEAKER_02Anyway. Jake Johnson. Johnson. Yeah. And he's just the same in the movie. He is.
SPEAKER_06It's just He plays one character.
SPEAKER_02And it is so and everything that he does. And funny and but the movie itself is like I thought really good. Lots of different ways. Like I thought it was a good movie.
SPEAKER_06Well, and I feel like that is something that like just like with Project Hill Mary, like there are movies that have been coming out where I feel like we're getting back to good movies. I feel like there's been a lot of years where there were not good movies. And I would think that Project Hill Mary, like, even when I said it, I was like, that is going to be like a classic that's going to go down like E.T., you know. Like you said, that's a movie we can just watch.
SPEAKER_02We'll watch over and which is not something we do a lot.
SPEAKER_06Your whole family can watch it, whatever. So that one was really good. Another one that I watched on Netflix this summer, gosh, what was it? Voicemails for Isabel, I think is what it was called. Maybe that's not exactly. You did not see it. It was so good. It was old school rom-com.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Just like, but so funny. Like so funny. Like I actually considered rewatching it with you because it was funny enough where, like, when I watched it again, I was like, oh, this is like, you know, romantic comedy, like whatever, you're not gonna enjoy it. I think that you would have. I thought I think you would have thought it was funny. It was really good. It also made me cry.
SPEAKER_04Oh, wow.
SPEAKER_06And was still good. Like it was just it was a good cry. And you don't like that. And I don't like to cry. So yeah, you know. A show that we watched that was really good was Paradise.
SPEAKER_01Paradise remind me again.
SPEAKER_02Paradise was the like the mayor on the island that didn't leave the island?
SPEAKER_06No, it's like they're in the bunker. The Paradise Bunker.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. That was a good one.
SPEAKER_06And you got to see like the They had the president.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and all that stuff. All of that stuff. Okay, I'm with you. I remember. Yeah, that show was good. That was really good. I like that a lot.
SPEAKER_06And we both said season two, at least in the beginning of it, like definitely only in the beginning of it, was giving like romantic vibes. Yeah. With like, you know, the girl that was in, was it Graceland?
SPEAKER_02Maybe. I don't remember. Like Elvis's house. Is that what that's called? Yeah. Well, I don't know. I'm not a big Elvis person, sure.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I think that's whatever that's it's Elvis's house.
SPEAKER_02That's where she was. She was holed up. And you might notice that this is different after I said she was holed up. I actually had to cut. Justin edited. I had to edit. I had to. I had to edit.
SPEAKER_06She's a major spoiler for that show.
SPEAKER_02I spoiled the sh the show apparently. Yeah. She was holed up at Elvis' house.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I feel like that's safe to say because that happens like very quickly within the first time.
SPEAKER_02Well, and that means nothing. Who cares?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. But yeah, that is a really good show. Like we as you're watching it, it is one of those shows where you're watching it where it's like, at least for me personally, like a person with massive anxiety, it stressed me out. We had to stop watching it for a little bit because I was like, whew. It's tough.
SPEAKER_02It's on the edge for a lot of stuff. Like it is a tense show.
SPEAKER_06And I feel like part of what makes it tough, and also part of what I think makes it unique and like really cool, is that a lot of the like, and I don't even know what to call it. You know, it's not like an apocalypse, it's like major world events.
SPEAKER_02Quasi natural design quasi-apocalypse. Yeah, and not everybody is dead, but a whole lot of people died.
SPEAKER_06Right. But normally, you know, when you get shows like The Walking Dead or whatever, it's always like post-apocalypse or post like major event. And you're seeing like the aftermath. And I have always said I would love to see the the before. Like how did we get to this place? What was the like breakdown of everything like? And you get to see so much of that. And I feel like that's what made it really scary, is because like watching that.
SPEAKER_02You know, or feels, I guess. Yeah. You know. You're like, oh no. Could this really happen? Yeah, like does our president really have that?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. You know? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Scary. I'm bringing up politics, but regardless, yeah. I don't like that.
SPEAKER_06I don't like it either. But yeah, very scary. Like not scary, like horror movie scary, but you know, just it uh the being able to see that aspect of it, I think, was part of what made that show cool, but also what it made me have to take a break because I was getting too anxious.
SPEAKER_02A lot of intense, like just intense part. Um but phenomenal. We are currently watching the Will Farrell show The Hawk, which is very Will Ferrell. If you're not a Will Farrell person. The show itself, I think, is still funny, but Will Farrell is Will Farrell. So if you do like him, you'll love the show.
SPEAKER_06And what is the the girl? Is it what the his caddy what's her name? Fortune?
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_06Fortune themster, I think.
SPEAKER_02Or might be watched her stand-up comic.
SPEAKER_06Really screwing that up.
SPEAKER_02I think she wore a tracksuit or a jumpsuit on stage when we watched her stand-up.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I she is so funny. I enjoy her so much. Yeah, Fortune I don't know if you if I'm pronouncing it right. Feamster, themster, it's F-E-I-M-S-T-E-R.
SPEAKER_00Um, I don't know.
SPEAKER_06Well, yeah, she is so funny. I think that she's hilarious.
SPEAKER_02I love her accent or way that she chooses to use the accent. I don't either way is like, I don't know, it just worked for her. It's part everything she says is funny.
SPEAKER_05Funny, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And she's very witty.
SPEAKER_05She is.
SPEAKER_02And what we just watched, she was in something else we watched. I don't know what it was, man.
SPEAKER_06Um she's in a dink. Yeah, she was one of the team that's she was uh pickleball. She was one of the grunners. Yeah, she was one of the grunners.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she makes sexual noises when she hits the pickleball. The dink is so good.
SPEAKER_06I I wouldn't go that far personally. I thought it was so good. I thought it was funny, I thought that it was good. I thought that again it it got back to like a very like old school comedy movie where it's just like good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's like the I'm not gonna compare it, like Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore and those are like those are classics.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, they are but I I to me it was like in that realm.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's a lot of comedy, goofiness, kind of like outrageous at times. It it is like that. Right. So you get that again, 90s, early 2000s type of like out there. It's not those movies.
SPEAKER_06Again, those are classics, but and I do feel like, and I don't I I don't I think it's just we're getting old and we're just the old people that are like just no good movies coming out. But I feel like the fact that some have been coming out now that I have been like, okay, that's good makes me think that like it wasn't just me getting old. Like it's also entertainment was just not good for a while. Shows. I feel like the focus was on like shows and like Netflix and all of those, like coming out. I feel like that's where most of like the big, you know, powerhouse, you know, studios were putting most of their energy into. And movies were just kind of going by the wayside. Yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_02But movies are back. I think so. And like limited series have been were were great for years and that's what held us up throughout the the movies not being all that great was like well there's so many documentaries and limited series and shows like the COVID years, it so much was on television. Fucking Tiger King. Remember Tiger King?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like holy shit, that was so much fun.
SPEAKER_06That's so wild.
SPEAKER_02That's such a wild yeah.
SPEAKER_06That was fells like a million years ago and also like yesterday.
SPEAKER_02But to me, that was when I think of COVID Yeah.
SPEAKER_06You can't think about COVID without thinking about Tiger King.
SPEAKER_02And I'm not talking about don't be one of those bumper people. Like too many people died.
SPEAKER_01I remember.
SPEAKER_02I was there too. But have you seen Tiger King? I'm not trying to be rude. But have you seen Tiger King? Because when I think of COVID, I don't think of the bus with the cross in New York with the hospital or not the bus, the ship. Remember the hospital ship? Yeah. I don't think of that. I think of Tiger King. That's my first thought with COVID.
SPEAKER_06I mean, that's certainly a more joyful way to think about COVID.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm not thinking about that bummer ass shit.
SPEAKER_02Besides them stimulus checks, bitch, we had a hot tub. The president was like stimulate that economy. And everybody's like, you should pay debt. You should save it. You should I was like, fuck. Tell us that you bought a hot tub. Fuck yeah, we still use that shit.
SPEAKER_05We still do. It was a good purchase.
SPEAKER_02Don't tell me I'm not an American. I stimulated the motherfucking economy with my money.
SPEAKER_05You did.
SPEAKER_02Everybody was like, you should save it. I don't know. Eat a dick. I'm getting a hot tub.
SPEAKER_06This is not a book podcast anymore.
SPEAKER_02Listen, y'all looked you listened to the book stuff. This is just us.
SPEAKER_06This is just us.
SPEAKER_02Alright. But on that note. Are we ready to go eat dinner?
SPEAKER_06I think that we should go eat dinner. And I think we should sign off there again. The plan is to put episodes out literally when we feel like it.
SPEAKER_02Maybe we can. We don't know. But don't hold us to that.
SPEAKER_06No, no, no. Definitely don't hold us to it. It's gonna be what it's gonna be. We'll let you know. Stay tuned, like Justin said, probably subscribing to it. You know, settled on that.
SPEAKER_02My next birthday I'll be forty.
SPEAKER_06I don't know the words. I don't know. I don't know that it's subscribed. I think it's subscribed. Maybe. I don't know. You know, try to set it on there where they don't. And speaking of things, you should definitely follow us on social media because that'll be the best way to know when we are gonna put new episodes out and what's going on in the meantime.
SPEAKER_02And for real, as soon as I can convince Jackie to do it, that shop is coming with sick ass coffee. Justin wants to do merch. Mainly for us. It's mainly so remember like I was just remembering like, remember like the fuck fuck daying days.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'm just like Well, there was at one point where you were gonna make a cup or shirt or something that said, like, we don't know shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you don't know shit about shit. Yeah. I'm just saying we don't know shit. You know? And there's just and it's really it came from that of like all these little fun. If you've never listened to us before, this is not our first time podcast. It might sound like that because these fucking idiots.
SPEAKER_06This is probably the least organized episode that we've ever put out. And it's like so much fun though. We've had so many episodes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. But this is what you're gonna get. All right.
SPEAKER_06I'll get right to it.
SPEAKER_02All right, so we'll see you when we see you. I love you.
SPEAKER_06I love you.
SPEAKER_02And uh we're gonna go eat some dinner.
SPEAKER_06Sounds good.
SPEAKER_02Okay. See y'all.
