Women In... Episode 66: Flaca Solano - Women In Grit: From the Ring to the Runway of Olympic Dreams, Featuring a Hispanic Boxer & a Track Star on the Road to Greatness
I was born in Mesa, Arizona, but grew up in Tucson, Arizona. My parents got a divorce when I was 4 months old, and my dad had full custody of two girls just a year and 19 days apart. I definitely did not have the most normal life, but it made me recognize what I had and what I should work for. With that I went to small town Iowa and got my Bachelors as a first generation while being on a track and field scholarship. After that I decided to move to Minot, North Dakota to get my masters and to compete my last year in track at the NCAA level. After graduation I wanted to move to Utah since that was where my family now lives, and figured what better way than to work for the team that I used to watch as a kid!
