Mary Pink is in her 30th year with the Iowa State Athletics Department. Pink
oversees marketing efforts including ticket sales, advertising, fan engagement,
gameday atmosphere, social media, promotional strategies, branding, licensing,
and team store.
Under her direction, the athletics department has broken several football, men’s
and women’s basketball ticket sales records:
- Exceeded 45,000 season tickets sold for the first time in school history
(2019)
- Recorded highest average attendance per home game of 60,704 (61,500
capacity) in 2021.
- Secured 85 consecutive games at Jack Trice Stadium with more than
50,000 fans in attendance, a streak dating back to 2011.
- ISU is the only school in the nation to average at least 50,000 fans at
home football games, 14,000 fans at home men’s basketball games and
9,000 fans at home women’s basketball games in the last 14 years.
- Women's basketball has continuously been in the top ten nationally in
attendance for the over 23 years.
Mary has served on several boards included a emeritus member of the National
Sports Forum (NSF) Steering Committee and past president of the National
Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA).
Pink graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Communication
and received her master’s degree from Iowa State University in Education. She
and her husband, Kenny have a daughter, Addison, 20 and a son Wyatt, 18.
