We’re back! After a whirlwind few weeks traveling across the globe, Jon and Nicole are finally sitting down to recap the highs, the lows, and the serious jet lag of conference season.
In this episode of Fill Me In: An Aesthetics Podcast, the duo dives deep into their experiences at AMWC in Monaco and AmSpa in Las Vegas. From the stunning views of the Swiss Alps and the overwhelming four-floor expo halls of the Grimaldi Forum to the high-energy networking and FDA insights in Vegas, they break down why continuing education is the heartbeat of the aesthetics industry.
In this episode, we discuss:
- The European Experience: Why you need to pay for VIP in Monaco and how to navigate international filler trends (and skin boosters!).
- AmSpa Vegas Recap: Insights from the FDA on "standard of care" and why your protocols matter more than your TikTok techniques.
- Collaboration Over Competition: Special guest Brittany Selementi (britt_aesthetician) joins the show to talk about her upcoming debut on the big stage at Modern Beauty Con Boston. She shares her tips on how aestheticians and injectors can collaborate to "protect what you inject."

Jon (00:05)
Okay, can we just have a moment for the skin now?
Nicole (00:07)
Your skin? huh. You're glowing. thought you were complimenting me, but
Jon (00:12)
No, your skin's great. Don't get me wrong, I am having a moment. I'm having my moment.
Nicole (00:17)
Hang
on a moment. What did you end up, so before this, John called me and said, I don't know what skincare to put on right now. What did you end up putting on?
Jon (00:24)
I put on the Vesveratrol by SkinCeuticals. Okay. And then the P.T.O.X. And then I did Trio.
Nicole (00:30)
Yeah, you look very glowy.
Jon (00:32)
Thank you. I'm telling you, I love my skin better. I love all products, but the SkinCeuticals just gives me that glow, that dewy glow, and I love it.
Nicole (00:41)
No, you look amazing. And your skin, healing so well from your PDGS. my god.
Jon (00:46)
Our poor viewers that had to see us and I had red eye red puffy eyes They're like can by any chance can you let me know what you had done or we were wondering we were a little concerned There's no perfect time to get treatments done
Nicole (00:50)
Still commenting, what happened to John?
Worried about you.
No, there isn't. You just got to do it. All right, guys. So really quick, I'm ordering crumble before we get started. Because I want it to be here when we're done. we're done. John ordered it. What cookies did you get? Or Cory did it. You don't know.
Jon (01:08)
Yeah.
I'm pretty sure he got a couple snickerdoodle. I don't know. I have a 2 % glass of milk waiting for me downstairs. I can't wait to dip the shit out of them.
Nicole (01:25)
All right, I'm getting chocolate cupcake, chocolate chunk, and two brownie batter.
Jon (01:30)
⁓ nice. I think you got chocolate chunk. ⁓ For those of you guys that don't know, this is a Friday night that we're filming and it's 8 p.m.
Nicole (01:32)
Yeah, I love that
This is our recovery post Europe and Vegas.
Jon (01:44)
my god, clearly we're still on Vegas time.
Nicole (01:47)
Yeah, we are struggling. Me and John have been struggling all week.
Jon (01:50)
It's been a tough week.
Nicole (01:52)
Okay, ordered. Sorry guys, we are ready.
Jon (01:55)
Okay guys, welcome back to another episode of the Filmian Pod. I'm Injector Jon.
Nicole (02:00)
and I'm aesthetic nurse Nicole.
Jon (02:02)
And we've missed you guys. It's been a few weeks since we've actually filmed an episode because we filmed a bunch before we left for Europe and we went to Vegas for the conferences. But we're going to talk to you guys all about kind of the conferences that we went to, the things we've learned and I don't know, just how I think important it is to go to conferences too. Yeah. So let's kick it off with Europe.
Nicole (02:20)
Absolutely. Yep.
Yes, Europe, what a trip!
Jon (02:27)
What a trip. We started out with a little Opry ski, Nicole. it to Everybody Nicole skied. And it had been how many years since you skied? Yeah. ⁓
Nicole (02:33)
Everyone I skied, I skied.
Over 16. Mm-hmm.
Yep. No lessons. Him and Olivia just took me right up.
Jon (02:45)
Listen, you pizza'd right down that bunny. And that bunny was a blue. It was honestly not a true bunny in America.
Nicole (02:50)
Hmm.
No, they are not. Switzerland is nothing like skiing here. We did, I did two bunnies and then the full, the bunny was the start of a blue. So two bunnies and then a full blue. And then I looked at them and I said, guys, I haven't fallen. I'm going to take my wins. I'll be at the lodge. meet me there.
Jon (02:59)
Nothing.
Yes, I know it was, it was beautiful. Guys, if you are listening, Switzerland is just, it looks almost fake. the mountains are beautiful. The air is crisp. You're, you're, don't know how much altitude you're up. it like 3000? 6000.
Nicole (03:19)
Stunning.
No, $6,000, I think.
From where me and you are in New York and New Jersey. Yeah.
Jon (03:37)
Yep. Yeah. none of us had altitude sickness. God. We had one day of bloating, which the chamomile and dandelion I think that helped. It saved us. my God. But we went to AMWC, Monaco. What were your thoughts on it, Nicole?
Nicole (03:45)
saved me.
was such an overwhelming conference for me. my God, guys, it was like four floors. The largest conference that I've been to is AmSpaw, and that's obviously very large conference, but it's like one large expo hall. This was four floors of expo hall. And then like the lectures were kind of like broken out around. ⁓ I think if I do it again, I need to plan ahead. I did not plan ahead enough.
Jon (04:20)
Yeah,
I mean, was beautiful. The conference was, what was the hall called that we went to? What was it called? Do you even remember?
Nicole (04:30)
Nope. But I tell you, they were just like, here, here, here. It was huge. And it was like so much going on. I don't even know the name of it.
Jon (04:39)
Yeah, it was, the Grimaldi Forum. And when you go in, you're outside and then there's a separate quarters. have to take escalators downstairs to check in. And the line is absolutely insane. for the VIP. Yep. And then you'll check in, you'll get your badge. And then after that, you have to go back up the escalators and you have to go into the Grimaldi Forum. And then it's like just a whirlwind of expo halls.
Nicole (04:41)
Yes, the Grimaldi ⁓
Pay for v- if you're gonna do that pay for the VIP. So worth it.
Jon (05:07)
Like each floor there's different wings with like Allergan, Gelderma, Aura Reality, Revance.
Nicole (05:15)
Cyton. And a lot of, like it was obviously international, so a lot of international things that we don't actually get to see at things like Amsp and stuff. So that was very cool too.
Jon (05:24)
Yeah, skin pen was there. But like you said, there's a lot of international skincare lines that we just don't carry here in the US. it was really interesting. And fillers. There were some fillers there that I never.
Nicole (05:36)
yeah, all the boosts, I'm like, what is that?
Jon (05:38)
Yeah, skin boosters. I'm like, we don't do this here.
Nicole (05:40)
Yep, yep. What was the, what's that one filler that we might be getting in the US? They like sponsored it.
Jon (05:47)
Not Evoli- not Evolis? No. Obagi?
Nicole (05:51)
No.
Jon (05:53)
Hmm. Oh, it was red.
Nicole (05:57)
Yeah, was the bag they gave us.
Jon (05:59)
Yes, I can't remember.
Nicole (06:01)
I
know I can't remember either, but apparently that's something that could be coming soon to the US. like exciting things coming. But I just wish that I like AMSPA, I make my list of all the lectures I want to attend. I wish I did that for AMWC because I did not realize, I thought everything was going be in one room. I was very underprepared, unprepared. Like I just didn't know that it would take me 20 minutes to find a lecture hall.
Jon (06:07)
Yeah.
Yeah, no.
Yeah, so if you go to Monaco, one thing you have to think about, the conference is in Monaco, but the hotels book up so quickly. we started booking like in November, December, and the Hotel de Paris was already booked. Like all the hotels in Monaco were booked. So we ended up having to find a hotel that was in technically, Monaco is its own silo, like its own like border. Yeah. I guess like country.
Nicole (06:54)
Yes.
Jon (06:55)
And then, but we stayed in the France side at the Mayborn Riviera. So it was like a 20 to 25 minute taxi or like Uber.
Nicole (07:02)
because
the laws were different. could Uber from the hotel into Monaco, but we Uber back from Monaco to the hotel, so we kept getting stuck.
Jon (07:10)
So we would have to take a taxi back to our hotel. then honestly, nine times out of 10, I just went to the hotel to Perry and be like, hi, can I have a transport? And just pretended I stayed there. And then they took care of you.
Nicole (07:22)
And everyone was so nice and every hotel did do that if you were stuck. ⁓ But it was, I mean, stunning. The hotels there, the restaurants there, the Grimaldi Forum, like everything was beautiful. And the speakers were great too. I think we sat in a couple lectures and like that complications one with Lee Walker, Dr. Lee Walker and a few other people, like very, very incredible speakers.
Jon (07:45)
Yeah,
very informative and they gave all of their like emergency protocols, which was really nice and it honestly kind of just reiterated like everything that we do do. Nicole, thank God, which is good. But there was a few products or a few ⁓ drugs that we at least aren't in mind that I did write down and I'm going to be ordering to add to my emergency protocol kit. But they went over all of that and there was just so much to choose from. There were so many different rooms. going into it,
definitely download the app and just research the out of every lecture and it's just so impossible to know like when you go in there you get very overwhelmed yeah and then you very yes and then you know you know and there's people there to ask
Nicole (08:27)
They have orange vests on with like a sign like ask
Jon (08:29)
Yeah. And then they're like, go this way. And I'm like, OK. And by the time you get there, it's like halfway through the lecture. anyway, it was still an amazing experience. I think these conferences are all about networking. yeah.
Nicole (08:40)
Yep,
meeting new people. Yeah, we met a couple new people that we didn't know, which was a great couple doctors.
Jon (08:47)
Dr. Stephen Land from England.
Nicole (08:49)
Yes, yep, Yeah, it was very cool to meet new people and like, again, it's international. So I just feel like you meet people from all different areas, you know, and it's you learn so many different things of what they're dealing with, pricing they're doing versus pricing that we have. Like, it's cool to see.
Jon (09:07)
Yeah, and it's mostly doctors at this conference, I say. Like, obviously there were some NPs and PAs and nurses, but a lot of doctors. ⁓ And honestly, there weren't many Americans. Yeah, so they were like, Dr. was like, you're from United States? Wow. Like, I don't think there's many people from here. So that was cool.
Nicole (09:26)
Yeah, and I would have never gone there if it wasn't for Olivia. And I feel like she knows those types of conferences because of the fact that she's always in somewhere. She's always in the UK, Australia. So shout out to her for tagging us along.
Jon (09:34)
She's somewhere. Yes. Flying around.
Yes, and having us meet some of her friends, which is really cool. ⁓ I did an advisory board when I was there for Trennybot, which is the new ⁓ form of, it's the new neurotoxin, neuromodulator coming out for the allergen, hopefully by September, October-ish. So that was exciting. But like we said, a lot of it's networking.
Nicole (10:00)
Yeah, yeah, we did a couple of Allergan events, which was nice. Yes. everybody.
Jon (10:04)
We got to meet the global CEO. Hey everyone, it's Jonathan also known as Injector John.

Nicole (10:42)
and me at Aesthetic Nurse Nicole. We can't wait to see you there.
Jon (10:45)
Love you guys.
Nicole (10:47)
and then flew home and well, flew to Paris, then flew home, worked for a week and a half and went to Vegas. And let me tell you something, Vegas destroyed me way worse than Europe.
Jon (10:49)
Works for a week and a
I think Faye would agree.
Nicole (11:03)
That really, Vegas did me in, man. I don't know what it is. It's just everything's so fast paced and the time difference, even though it's less, feels so much worse than Europe. don't know how to. It's just terrible.
Jon (11:13)
hours before.
And it's like, think the energy of being in Vegas, it's so lively and buzzing and there's so much stimulation. So I think that was it too. But I love.
Nicole (11:26)
my God, it's the best. Honestly, that is one of my favorite conferences. And it's just like, think too, because of how long we've been in this now and a lot of the friends that we have made go to that one. So it just feels so fun because you're never in a room where you don't know someone. And that's like the best part about it, honestly.
I do love about Amspa too. Like you guys were all going to the like filler and injectable stuff. And I was like, I'm going to go to this business one. I'll take notes. I'll let you guys know. They have everything business injectable. Like if you own a practice Amspa is the place to be.
Jon (12:02)
Well, and that's what was so cool. Like, you know, next year, hopefully I could bring my manager to go. Like, I brought my social media manager. I brought our aesthetician. You brought your aesthetician. Yeah, obviously your injectors came, which was great. But like, you can also bring your manager and they can go to the business side of things.
Nicole (12:19)
so I can go to the injectable stuff next year, yeah.
Jon (12:21)
Exactly. No, it's so awesome. Yeah. Yeah, I love it. There's just so much to do and there's so many events. Like I remember leading up to it. I'm like, I don't really have much planned. Then all of a sudden, like three days before, people are saying this dinner. Film this or go to this or whatever. And it ended up being really
Nicole (12:35)
⁓ Yes.
Yeah, what did you film for did you film for our game while you were there? Alley, okay, cool
Jon (12:44)
I filmed for Alley. Yeah,
so there in the Allergan booth, there was this little alley area and it was cool. Yeah.
Nicole (12:53)
And I laugh like on Instagram, it might look like me and John were together all day. We saw each other for like five minutes here, five minutes.
Jon (12:58)
It was very brief. minutes here. The most time I saw you was at Fisher. Yes, The concert we went to. my God.
Nicole (13:08)
No, literally, and it's just like too that hotel is huge
Jon (13:14)
the blister. I can't. I'm still recovering from my blister.
Nicole (13:17)
you blisters from your shoes, yep. Yep, we stated the win and John was in like a whole other tower than me, which did not work out the last day when I was flying home because I was flying home early and I gave him my camera the night before.
Jon (13:29)
Mm-hmm. It's fine. It all worked out. And you ended up in the wrong wing by an accident. ⁓
Nicole (13:35)
God,
yep. Am I still here? Sorry, I think I just cut out. ⁓ I ended up, he's like, he tells me his room number and I get in the elevator, get up there and I'm like, there's no 10, 11. And you're like, you're in the wrong elevator, you idiot. my God.
Jon (13:50)
Oh, God. Yeah, we're like brother and sister. And what I love too about Amspot is they talk about a lot of the controversy going on as well in the aesthetic field or profession. So they talked about PDGF. They actually got the FDA there as well. It was so good and it so well. And I just, it was great. had Julie Kaplan. Oh, they had Julie Kaplan and Leslie Fletcher and Madison Deany there.
Nicole (13:51)
We love each other we do
I was incredible.
Jon (14:17)
And obviously, Lynch, Dr. Sam Lynch was there. And it was just, it was great. Everyone just got along and it's just how it should be.
Nicole (14:26)
Absolutely. Anything, what did the FDA say? Anything riveting?
Jon (14:31)
⁓
Not riveting, but they basically said standard of care is your most important thing. And standard of care basic is consents, your protocols, how do you manage a complication? That's what they look for.
Nicole (14:44)
the trainings. Like how much training do you have in it? What research did you do? They don't want to know that you were on TikTok and that's how you found your technique. You need the training. You need a research, yeah, base protocols. Yeah.
Jon (14:55)
Exactly.
And a source who told me that they approached the FDA, they actually saw them, they went up and actually sat next to them and asked about like, is it okay that I'm doing that? This is what I'm doing in my practice. They could not say whether it was right or wrong. They just said, make sure you have a good standard of care. That's all we care about. The patient is number one. So she left kind of feeling really good about it. Right. Yeah. So, and there's more in the pipeline for...
Resense PDGF that company so and obviously there's some Things coming along with gem 21, which is also the same thing. Okay, it's the same drug That our essence PDGF is it's gem 21 is literally the same drug as our essence PDGF Just a different vial or a different syringe. Okay So there should be some things coming along with that as well because right now gem 21 Can only be used in or maxillary surgery and in the dental field
but it could be open in the future in aesthetics as well. Nice. Yeah, because right now, yeah. Also, yeah, yeah. And I just love with Amspa that it was, there were, the classes are like 25 minutes long, the lectures are. It's very short, but it's concise, it's to the point. And like she said, like there was a class on hypo and hyperpigmentation with lasers that was so valuable. And tell them about the app that you told us all to download.
Nicole (15:59)
Things you wouldn't know if you didn't go to the conference.
So that's from Vanessa, shout out my social media girl. So it's called Echo and Echo Note Taker. And you literally just hit this little record button and it turns your entire recording. don't know if this is showing on camera, but it turns it into this little PDF file of notes. you can, like I did it for all the business ones and sent it to my managers.
Like it was phenomenal. And then like ones that you missed, like the biofilm one I recorded for you guys, which I still have to send, like ones that like we really wanted to get to, but we tried to divide and conquer. was like, I'll take the notes and then I'll send them to you guys.
Jon (17:01)
Yeah, it's great. And that way you can just sit in the lecture, turn it on. Say if you miss something, it's already recorded for you and you can read it later. Yeah, I read some of the things like on my flight home. Yeah. was great.
Nicole (17:11)
Yep. But now we're home again. We worked this week, we're working next week. And then the week after that, Thursday, Friday, we head to Boston for Modern BeautyCon.
Jon (17:22)
Yes, which is really exciting. we were asked to host our podcast at Modern BeautyCon. we'll be there,
Nicole (17:24)
One of our favorites, yes.
Yeah, so we're super excited for Modern BeautyCon 2 because not only will Phil me in be there, but Britt, my esthetician at my office is going to be speaking. I'm going to text her. We're going to have her hop on real quick, guys, so she can kind of give you a little preview of what she'll be talking about.
Jon (17:41)
Very exciting.
And isn't it very hard for an aesthetician to get approved to speak on stage as well too?
Nicole (17:57)
I think she'll tell you herself, but she was shocked that they said yes to her.
Jon (18:02)
She kind of made it seem like it was kind of hard, I mean, anyone should be able to speak. Yes, no.
Nicole (18:08)
Absolutely. But she was like, she was like, just like shot my shot and they were like, yeah. And she then she went, okay, now I have to do this. But we're, I'm so excited for her and I'm so proud of her. Like, I just feel like it's so important to do things that constantly take you out of your comfort zone. Yep. And she did that and I'm so proud of her.
Jon (18:16)
I love it.
It's the only way we can move forward. ⁓
Nicole (18:31)
Exactly,
absolutely. You always got to be doing things that are keeping you growing. Hi, Britt. Hi, Britt. I'm just bragging about you.
Britt (18:40)
⁓ God, Don't make me cry already.
Nicole (18:45)
So for everyone listening or watching, this is Britt. She is my esthetician at Exhibit, one of our estheticians. have two, but she's our lead esthetician and our spa manager. She's been with us since day one. OG.
Jon (18:59)
OG baby.
Nicole (19:01)
And so she decided to apply to speak at Modern Beauty Con and got accepted. So Britt, tell us, what are you talking about? What's your topic?
Britt (19:10)
Yeah. Well, can I just tell that real quick? Because I didn't tell Nicole just because I didn't want to be embarrassed if they said no. Yeah. And I was right between clients and I got the email and I looked at my phone and I instantly felt like sick and like I was going to throw up and I was like, why did I do this?
Nicole (19:13)
Really?
Britt (19:39)
I really just never thought they were going to say yes anyway, but it was just one of those things. And I remember Nicole was just getting in that right after I saw that and I ran into like the break room where we enter and I start telling her I'm like, so I got myself in a pickle. And like she looked scared at first because she probably thought
Jon (20:00)
no, a patient issue or something.
Britt (20:03)
And she was like, and then I'm like, so I applied to speak and before I even she's like, yeah, like that she told like the whole draw room hardly before I even like got it out, but like that, you know, that's you, you're always so supportive of everything and it made me feel really good. like, okay, I guess I did the right thing here, but I was like, what did I get myself into?
Nicole (20:22)
I
Literally.
Jon (20:30)
I love it.
Nicole (20:31)
Right when we had Erika Berry on, was like, you know, got to just go for it. Like, even if you don't feel like you're ready, like you got to just do it. So when you told me that, was like so proud.
Jon (20:40)
That's what I loved about her because she was like, know, honestly, I remember the first time I've spoke, like I look back and I'm like, okay, I did okay, but like that wasn't great. Yeah. you know, like you're constantly like over analyzing everything you're going to say. then she goes, but after a while you just kind of say, you just go up there and you just speak what's on your mind. And then you get off stage and you're like, well, that was it. That's what it is.
Nicole (20:49)
Like that?
Britt (21:05)
I sure hope it goes well. I am already accepting that it's not going to be great though, because I feel like I need to.
Nicole (21:13)
Go.
Jon (21:14)
That is a good way of going into it.
Nicole (21:17)
Like an anxiety thing, then you, cause if you're not, if you already expect the worst, it can only be the best. That's like a, that's a way to look.
Jon (21:25)
But it's not going to be. know after like five minutes, everything's gonna click.
Britt (21:32)
I so.
Jon (21:34)
With a little
Nicole (21:36)
Yes, exactly.
Britt (21:38)
yeah, I'm gonna I mean I'm gonna I'm trying that
Nicole (21:42)
For sure. She's planning on medicating now. That's happening. So tell everyone for your first ever speech, what is the topic?
Britt (21:52)
So it's funny. when you do, I don't know if all of them are like this, but when you did apply to speak, that was the whole thing. Like they had you, what is your idea that you would want to speak about? I don't know, they seemed, with their response, seemed to be like that was why they agreed to let me speak, because they liked my idea. So I said that I want to speak about how in our practice we work as estheticians and injectors to collaborate for like.
and create a treatment plan and things like that. So yeah, and again, it doesn't sound groundbreaking. already, I've already tried to think of a way to be like, I know this is nothing people haven't heard before, but I think the big difference is that we do really walk the walk at our practice. I know, unfortunately, I'm in like a lot of esthetician groups and I talked to a lot of estheticians and a lot of them.
don't feel valued where they work and it sucks. And I am very lucky that Nicole and Melissa have never made me feel that way. I've always felt just as much a part of the plan and always just as much a part of the team. And it does sadden me that a lot of people don't work somewhere that they feel that way. But I also think there's something to be said that if you don't feel valued, then like,
become valuable, like show them your value. And I also have like a lot of things that I want to point out to that too, like some other ideas that we've come up with, like events that we do and things like that, because it all plays a part. Like, yeah, there's the whole obvious like better skin quality makes injectable results look better. Like we've all heard that before, but there's also just about like, how do you bring value to the table as an esthetician? And just like, yes, we do kind of.
have the power of frequency and we tend to see the patients more often. We're with them for more time. We have more time to build those relationships and trust. And I know at least where we are, and I'm sure every practice is the same. We definitely have very deep, quiet relationships, maybe almost too much. But I think that really works for us and our personalities and our vibe and like.
you know, everybody kind of does feel like friends and family in our job. You know, that's why we say ⁓ it's a feeling.
Jon (24:20)
Well, that's why I think me and Nicole gravitated to each other so much and why I gravitate to you guys too. Because at Toxin Pot, we're the same way. our patients are our family. And like, you know, I may run a little bit late sometimes into appointments, but it's because I'm literally like focusing and honing in so much on their life and like things outside of just their treatment plan, you know? Because I think it's so important to build that connection. So we used to always say, you know, you have to protect what you inject.
So like, right? So like, I think that's a good way to, to like cue people in, like, do you have to protect on the esthetician side what you inject on the injectable side. So like, it's so good. Like, you know, my RNs that do the advanced skin treatments and like my esthetician, like we always say that. So like, if she's doing a facial and there's someone who's only getting diamond glows and they have like these deep lines, she's like, listen, there's only so much I can fix, but you're going to need Botox to fix those memetic lines, right? So, but yeah, so I think, yeah, that's awesome.
Nicole (25:17)
And it's like, giving, like how you said too, Britt, like, if you don't feel valued, like find a way to, give value. I think that's great. Like definitely, I think we try so hard to educate all of our employees on how to explain to you or a client or patient the other things we offer without it being an upsell. Like it's never an upsell. It's like, I want to educate you. Like even Alyssa, Alyssa, we, we joke all the time. She's our lash girl. She's like our crossover queen. Like.
She'll be talking to someone and they'll be like, yeah, I have a vacation in a week and I'm so worried about getting sick. She'll be like, we have an IV for that. Let me get someone to hook you up. But the more you educate and empower your employees, the more likely they're going to do it. it's like, know, that's kind of, think, Britt, what your talk is touching on is like how to actually put it into practice. Yes. Because we all say it, but it's like, how do you actually make it happen? Yeah.
Britt (26:09)
And I feel like the flow, cause like it's so funny because where did I see this? I don't know if it was one of the groups I was in or if it was a comment I read, but somebody said something like, ⁓ how do you make that work when you're all booked? Like, yeah, it was a talk. It was a talk very similar to this at Amspa and somebody was saying like, how do you get, like, how do you make that work when you're all booked?
like we're all booked back to back, but we're somehow making it in other people's console. It's like we make it work. We wear headsets and like are always in communication. If you don't see the headset, you see the WhatsApp. Like anytime I have a minute, if I'm not locked in a facial, obviously I'm not gonna lead during a facial. But like if you say my client in room three has questions about microneedling, like I'm gonna try to get in there. Like, you know what I mean? No matter what. And that's a thing too. Like, because yeah, you can write it on the treatment plan.
but you can tell it means so much to the patient when the other provider comes in. Like I remember at first thinking, is this gonna turn people off? Are they gonna feel upsell-y? But honestly, I think it's the opposite. I think they're really appreciative that, wow, somebody else took the time to come in and talk to me and it feels like a little more of this like VIP, like they're really taking.
Jon (27:25)
It's
so true. And they know that you're with someone else, but you're taking the time to come out of that room just to say hello and answer a few questions. It means a lot. It goes a long way.
Britt (27:34)
Yeah, they
Nicole (27:34)
Absolutely. We're very excited, Britt. We can't wait. I know you can.
Jon (27:39)
We can't wait to interview you too.
Nicole (27:42)
my gosh,
Britt (27:44)
I'm so excited about that.
Nicole (27:46)
I was gonna be so-
Jon (27:47)
I
know and Joey's coming. Yeah.
Nicole (27:49)
⁓
We're gonna have Joey there, he's gonna be filming, we're gonna be doing interviews, we're gonna try to get a lot of the speakers I feel like, but attendees too, like we want to hear what everyone's liking, wants to see more of.
Jon (27:58)
⁓ I know.
Britt (28:02)
I
it's going to be like because it's in a different place. Guys, into the hotel that it's going to be at? No. Yeah, because I just like, I have the last year set up. I'm like nervous.
Nicole (28:05)
I know I'm a new-
Right in your mind.
Yeah. What's it going to be?
Jon (28:17)
No. I know, I'm excited. And I think I'm going to be doing, ⁓ so I'm actually on the business track.
Nicole (28:23)
yeah, tell us about that. You're doing like a...
Jon (28:25)
So I'll be doing a virtual panel for the business track of Mudder BeautyCon. So I guess you can pay a little bit extra to do like the more business focused side of things. Like if you're opening up a practice or if you have a practice and you want to refine your skills, your more administrative skills. So I'll be on a panel that Wednesday before and then I think I'm to be doing a Moxie like educational booth too as well while I'm there. that'll be fun.
Britt (28:49)
Good.
Nicole (28:50)
Yeah,
busy man. Yeah, and then we're going to dinner. Yes, and then we're gonna go to dinner and celebrate Brit
Jon (28:56)
This is gonna be so great.
Britt (28:58)
Oh my god.
Jon (29:00)
Either? Don't even.
Nicole (29:02)
No, Britt, you're, I'm so serious. You're gonna kill it, yeah. Jinx.
Jon (29:05)
You're so real. You just be you. seriously, you're so real. You're gonna go up there and people are just gonna fall in love with you because you're just so genuine.
Nicole (29:12)
Can I tell you, that really helped me when I had to do my Kodafana one and I was so nervous. Remember I was like, I just wanted to turn around and walk out of that room. What helped me was like, people see you online and on Instagram and stuff and they like, wanna see who they see online. It's true. And that helped me so much because I'm like, people follow me for a reason, like let me just be myself. And then I get a little less nervous, you know? That's true. Yeah.
Britt (29:34)
Can I tell you, speaking of that, I think I might have told you, I don't remember if I told you yesterday, but some lady ⁓ that knew me from Instagram came to get a facial and she's like, you look better in person.
Nicole (29:50)
I guess that's better than you look better on-
Britt (29:53)
She meant it in such a nice way and I didn't take offense to it but I just started cracking up. I'm like, thanks!
Jon (30:01)
I love it.
Nicole (30:03)
I
Britt (30:05)
But no, yeah. I mean, that's why I guess, like, I feel like I, especially like all the other speakers and stuff, like we all follow each other and like quite a few of us have interacted. So I feel like at least last time with the esthetician thing, since it's like, I think it's a newer part of Modern Beauty Con in recent years. it, you know, I just wonder maybe it's a much smaller room than the injectable room. So I'm just banking on that.
Nicole (30:32)
Well,
so sorry, we're all gonna be there. We will.
Jon (30:37)
Because I think last year it was just one big room.
Nicole (30:41)
The aestheticians were separate though.
Jon (30:42)
they were? Yeah, we were. okay. I didn't know that. Okay.
Nicole (30:46)
Which honestly, I love that they do because I feel like Amespa had some good esthetician talks, but like it's cool that they do like a whole separate just full.
Jon (30:53)
That's
great. ⁓ god, you're gonna do so well.
Nicole (30:56)
She's
gonna kill it. I'm so excited. I can't wait.
Britt (30:59)
Thanks for the faith guys.
Nicole (31:01)
I'll be in the back with my tissues.
Britt (31:03)
⁓ yeah, I can't look at you. I won't be able to look at you.
Jon (31:07)
I'll be sitting there eating like crumble cookie. I'll just be like, oh yeah. You want some? You're good? 2 %? You good? Oh God. Well, we're so excited. It's literally right around the corner, two weeks away. Yeah.
Nicole (31:11)
Maybe like you want some?
Yeah. And you guys will see Britt there. You'll see, fill me in. You guys will get to meet Joey. So exciting. Yeah.
Jon (31:30)
Yes.
Britt (31:31)
I'm excited!
Jon (31:33)
So exciting! He's the man behind magic. They love it. So, Brittany, so tell everybody where they can follow you on Instagram.
Britt (31:45)
So my Instagram is at Britt underscore aesthetician. I actually also just made a Patreon as well. So that's in my link tree with my blog and all that good stuff.
Jon (31:58)
And how long have you been practicing as an ascetician?
Britt (32:01)
⁓ what since 2018?
Jon (32:04)
That's amazing. So eight years. That's amazing.
Nicole (32:06)
Yeah, yeah. I'm start
counting because I can't do math as fast as John.
Jon (32:12)
So everybody go follow her she's amazing honestly some of your real ideas are they become my ideas for injectables so I think you're so good on socials and you're so educational. know Nicole I mean we can't keep up with Nicole she like two videos a freaking day.
Britt (32:24)
Thanks, Nicole. Thanks, Nicole.
Nicole (32:31)
gotta take a picture actually before we hang up because you guys are in my post today. Just real quick. Cheese! The damn peace sign.
Jon (32:36)
