[00:00:00] Jon LeSuer: Hey, guys. Welcome back to another episode of the Fill Me In podcast from Modern Beauty [00:00:10] Con. Yay. We're here with a special guest, Jenna Hilton.

[00:00:13] Jenna Hilton: Thank you for having me, guys. I feel like we were

[00:00:15] Jon LeSuer: just together. Oh, my

[00:00:15] Jenna Hilton: gosh. This

[00:00:15] Nicole Bauer: is, this is

[00:00:16] Jenna Hilton: great. I mean, I feel like, I feel like I'm so honored to be on this podcast.

[00:00:19] Jon LeSuer: [00:00:20] Honored? It's such a

[00:00:20] Jenna Hilton: great

[00:00:20] Jon LeSuer: spot. We're honored.

[00:00:21] Jenna Hilton: You guys are the best. And

[00:00:22] Jon LeSuer: we love you. Love you guys. So much. Fellow Allergan trainer.

[00:00:25] Jenna Hilton: Yep.

[00:00:26] Jon LeSuer: Yeah. Tell us about your life. There's been a lot of life updates the past year for you.

[00:00:29] Jenna Hilton: Do [00:00:30] I really wanna talk about life updates? I mean, the good thing is, is I'm on a new trajectory with the new office coming out.

It's amazing. We're about ready to, [00:00:40] um, release that information probably in the next month or so. Okay. Great. So, it's really exciting, but something coming new to Scottsdale, and I'm happy to be a part of it. [00:00:50]

[00:00:50] Jon LeSuer: Yeah. Anything that you're behind is gonna be amazing, so that's great.

[00:00:53] Jenna Hilton: Well, thank you.

[00:00:54] Jon LeSuer: Yeah.

[00:00:54] Jenna Hilton: Thanks.

[00:00:54] Jon LeSuer: So you're in Scottsdale, Arizona.

[00:00:56] Jenna Hilton: Yep.

[00:00:56] Jon LeSuer: How many years have you been injecting?

[00:00:59] Jenna Hilton: So about [00:01:00] 12. Mm. So I was... I've been in internal medicine. I did that s- for, like, it's been 17 years now.

[00:01:05] Jon LeSuer: Wow.

[00:01:05] Jenna Hilton: So old lady over here. No. And then I started doing, like, mo- more of, [00:01:10] like, you know, the medical side of Botox and then procedural.

Mm-hmm. And then I did a fellowship in functional integrative medicine 'cause I did hormones back in internal medicine, so I'm kind of like that nerdy, [00:01:20] like- Yeah ... endo girl, yeah, that likes the hormones, all of that fun stuff.

[00:01:24] Nicole Bauer: Yeah. 'Cause, well, we attended your talk this morning.

[00:01:26] Jenna Hilton: Oh, yeah. It

[00:01:26] Nicole Bauer: was great.

[00:01:27] Jenna Hilton: Thanks for coming to it.

Uh,

[00:01:27] Nicole Bauer: and I think it's such a good message because, [00:01:30] like, Julie, we just had Julie, uh, before you, and she's like, "You know, I think where aesthetics is going is we're gonna start starting with the inside- Yep ... and working our way out," you know? Yep. So that was kind of what your presentation was on this morning, [00:01:40] right?

Like, you know, hormones and nutrients and gut health and doing all that before you start doing the outside, you know?

[00:01:46] Jenna Hilton: Yeah. And I feel like Schino's always been kind of the frontier- [00:01:50] Mm-hmm ... of just really trying to support cellular biology. But all of us are trying to figure out, how do we turn the clock back, right?

And how do we really dial in? And a lot of it is [00:02:00] just going in from a cellular level, looking at senescence, like what we're figuring out with, with even using lasers. But hormones are the key, and I think that's been, like, the [00:02:10] really, like, change in the last three years when we've actually accepted hormone therapy as, like, not being taboo and being helpful, and we can use it with cancer [00:02:20] patients.

And, and I think that's really changed the clock- Yeah ... because then now we're able to see that their skin's actually healing from the inside. Right. Makes our job look so much better. Yeah. Right. Right? Um, but [00:02:30] then we're act- like, these patients are actually feeling good about themselves. Right. And, and I think that helps all around.

[00:02:34] Nicole Bauer: Do you feel like you're getting a lot of pushback from primaries or, and, like, we have a lot of patients- Yeah ... we have a wellness provider, and she'll [00:02:40] put them on hormones. And obviously, like you said, there's, there's so much false information out there about them, and it's taboo and all this stuff. Yeah.

Like, where the provider almost says, like, "Why are you on that?" Like-

[00:02:49] Jenna Hilton: Yes ... "

[00:02:49] Nicole Bauer: [00:02:50] Who's, who has you on that, and why are you on that?" Like, how do you kind of address that with your patients? Do you come across it?

[00:02:54] Jenna Hilton: Great question. So honestly, I think that was important About five years ago when I [00:03:00] did my fellowship, it was still that type of a situation.

Mm-hmm. And you'd have people kind of like pushing back. But here, the interesting thing is I feel like the consumer has really [00:03:10] stepped to the forefront, and the consumer's like, "I do not feel good." Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. "I feel better on hormone therapy. I'm trying to figure out how this works." And so it started being more of like an [00:03:20] online presence, having- Mm-hmm

these conversations. Even maybe three years ago, menopause was never talked about. Right. Right. And now it's on everything. Yes. I don't know if I'm just getting old enough for that. It's all your- If it's just our algorithm. It's changing for that. I was like, I think it's- It's [00:03:30] everywhere ... it's my age, right?

But, like, menopause became the thing in the last three years. Yeah. And so now- Providers are having to [00:03:40] kind of step back on their heels and be like, "W- well, is this the truth? Am I, am I creating this?" And we know that all, all cause of disease is aging, right? And so that's the number one cause of all of these [00:03:50] issues, so if we lose our hormones, if we lose this ability, um, we're going towards the disease path.

And I think that's the question, is a lot of... I had a, a patient just this week saying, "Well, I always really [00:04:00] wanted to go through things naturally." Mm-hmm. "Like, I didn't necessarily want to go on hormones. I just kind of, I don't take medications." And it's like I, I totally get that, but understand that we weren't really made [00:04:10] to age and live as long as we do.

Right. And so we weren't made to live past this fifth decade without hormones. Right. So in order to prevent that cardiovascular disease, the brain [00:04:20] disease, all of the, the problems with our inflammation, we really need to get back on track with those types of things.

[00:04:24] Nicole Bauer: That's such a good way to word it. Yeah.

I've never, like, put, put it together like that, you

[00:04:28] Jenna Hilton: know? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that, that's where you kind of think of, as [00:04:30] pr- as a functional practitioner, that's the source, is the aging problem.

[00:04:33] Jon LeSuer: Yeah.

[00:04:34] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:04:34] Jon LeSuer: Yeah, I feel like we're, um, uh... You know, I don't wanna go against, like, primary care doctors. My [00:04:40] husband's a primary care doctor.

And, but he's honestly among the few that address the inner side of things. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, obviously he doesn't do peptides at his primary care practice, [00:04:50] but he does a ton of hormones, and he takes the time to listen. And I feel like a lot of women, you know, 80% of our, the people that come to our practices are women, right?

Yeah. So it's [00:05:00] just, uh, we hear all the time that their primary care, they don't feel like no one's listening. They, they're poo-pooed. And I feel like we're finally seeing that shift-

[00:05:07] Jenna Hilton: Yeah ...

[00:05:08] Jon LeSuer: like that mind shift sw- you [00:05:10] know?

[00:05:10] Jenna Hilton: It is, but we're also getting studies to show that, right? Yes. And I think the problem before is it was like we're going against what the studies were showing, but the studies were showing synthetic [00:05:20] hormones.

The studies weren't looking at bioidenticals 'cause there wasn't any money in it, right? And so we're, we were able to piece out some of the information and get more information because when, when the WHO study- [00:05:30] Mm-hmm ... you know, 12 years ago, saying that they had to stop the study because of the issues, it kinda scared everyone.

And so that, I feel like, for the primary care, they're looking for more of the research [00:05:40] base. Now we're pulling that together. We're starting to get there. But even just, like, testosterone therapy for females, there's no standardization of dose. There's not even dose [00:05:50] availability. Like, I'll have some dosing that I can get, like a smaller dose percentage.

Mm-hmm. But then they won't carry that percentage, so I'm having to dose women based on men, and it's still not [00:06:00] really accepted, you know? Mm-hmm. And so that's where- That's where we have a lot, like we have a lot of space to go with all of this.

[00:06:06] Jon LeSuer: Well, I can't believe that picture that you showed on, during your [00:06:10] presentation- Yeah

of the woman. Her skin looked more inflammatory- Yes ... red, and then you ended up decreasing sugar intake and improving what she's eating. Her gut,

[00:06:16] Jenna Hilton: yeah.

[00:06:17] Jon LeSuer: Her gut, and it changed so much.

[00:06:19] Jenna Hilton: It's, like, such a great [00:06:20] before and after, and I think- It

[00:06:21] Jon LeSuer: is ...

[00:06:21] Jenna Hilton: what's so fabulous is, like, we try to get those results. Mm-hmm. And when people really know that they can unlock, that's when it be- that's when it changes the [00:06:30] game.

I'm always like, you know, we see people in this framework, and we're increasing, you know, their availability and confidence, but each time we- they get- become a better version of themselves, and so we level up. [00:06:40] Hormones are a fabulous way to level up because they're able to see that improvement, and then they buy into it.

Mm-hmm. They have that gut health. They're, they're supporting their... And their whole lifestyle change. They become [00:06:50] these new people- Oh, right ... that feel super confident, and it just- And that's your patient

[00:06:52] Jon LeSuer: forever ...

[00:06:53] Jenna Hilton: that's a patient forever. 'Cause- Yeah.

[00:06:55] Jon LeSuer: Yeah.

[00:06:55] Jenna Hilton: Yeah. Mm-hmm. So I think it's, I think it's the way we, we have to kind of move into the industry.

Yeah.

[00:06:59] Nicole Bauer: [00:07:00] Did you... And I, I think I heard this right, but did you say something about omegas- Yeah ... and, like, translating to the skin? And, and I've heard it with acne. Yes. But did you say something about, like, redness and rosacea with omegas?

[00:07:09] Jenna Hilton: Yeah. So [00:07:10] oma- I mean, in general, omegas are so fabulous in improving inflammation within the tissue.

Mm-hmm. So any e- so any time that you're trying to help support that inflammatory, start them on omegas. That can [00:07:20] help. Mm-hmm. Rosacea's a little bit harder because it has that neurovascular component, so it's a gut-brain immune, which is a little bit difficult to, to treat. But you wanna make sure the gut's [00:07:30] in a good space.

Mm-hmm. Their stress is down. You're doing all the things. Maybe you would do a vitamin E supplement with that. Limiting

[00:07:36] Jon LeSuer: alcohol.

[00:07:37] Jenna Hilton: Limiting alcohol. Yeah.

[00:07:38] Jon LeSuer: Cut caffeine.

[00:07:39] Jenna Hilton: Right, caffeine. Yeah. [00:07:40] Like, all of those things that kind of, that flare, kind of that, like-

[00:07:43] Jon LeSuer: Right ...

[00:07:44] Jenna Hilton: it's almost like it pushes up- Play some applications

you know, like their heart rate. It, it, it starts that, that response that works. [00:07:50] Nicotine. Nicotine. You're right. Yeah. I mean, all the things in Vegas. All the fun things. It's all the Vegas things. Oh, my God. Forget about Vegas night. Not good for our rosacea.

[00:07:57] Nicole Bauer: Yeah. Pretend

[00:07:58] Jenna Hilton: we weren't there. It was, and actually it was good for our [00:08:00] dopamine though.

Well, that day, and then the next day all our dopamine was crashed. Yeah. It was

[00:08:03] Nicole Bauer: on the ground. Halfway home.

[00:08:04] Jenna Hilton: By the pool. Halfway

[00:08:06] Jon LeSuer: home. By the pool. And we were attacked by the wind.

[00:08:08] Jenna Hilton: Windstorm, no [00:08:10] dopamine.

[00:08:10] Jon LeSuer: Oh, my God.

[00:08:10] Jenna Hilton: You're not feeling good. Yeah. You have a down. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:08:13] Jon LeSuer: Um, what advice do you have for injectors that are a year or two into it, and they're, [00:08:20] they're getting steadier, steady, but they're, you know, the, the...

Our profession's getting more saturated.

[00:08:25] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:08:25] Jon LeSuer: How do, how... What, what advice do you have for them to set themselves apart and grow? [00:08:30] That's

[00:08:30] Jenna Hilton: a great, great question. I think the interesting point is year two is a big trigger year, I think, for a lot of injectors. 'Cause I think they realize coming into this that maybe [00:08:40] they thought they were gonna make a ton of money.

Mm-hmm. Maybe they thought this was easy. Mm-hmm. Maybe they thought this was art. I find that my students and people I've trained over time, [00:08:50] especially at year two, the people that really dive in and- hone this in as their craft as a full-time position. They go to as many trainings as they can. They [00:09:00] invest in themselves, and they just really dive into, to themselves.

They're the ones that do it well. Yeah. Right? The people that do it half the, half the time- Yes ... which is fine, you know, you can have [00:09:10] part-time, but that's gonna really, that's gonna be the beginning. The other thing is to find your niche.

[00:09:15] Jon LeSuer: Yeah.

[00:09:15] Jenna Hilton: And be, and be that niche. I didn't- Right ... for the longest time, I wanted to be all of the things.

Mm-hmm. You know, and [00:09:20] I didn't wanna be the gut health girl on the stage- Right ... talking about stool samples. But here I am. But here we are. And this is why I'm on this podcast today. Ah, ah. Um, but I think it's [00:09:30] so important to know what you're so passionate about. Mm-hmm. And for me, it's cellular biology. How am I, uh, what are these outcomes going to be because I'm try- there's a, a [00:09:40] reason for it.

Yeah. Right? And it's nerdy. I think it's, it's fine, but you tend to attract that- Right ... for you. So I think the more that we lean into- who we are [00:09:50] and what, what really lights us up. And the fact that we don't have to have all the patients in the world- Mm-hmm ... that we want to attract just ourselves, we'll have plenty, right?

Yes. Yeah. And we'll have plenty of that. But I do feel like [00:10:00] year two is when you're like, "Okay, I'm not... I really gotta figure out if I'm gonna dive in or not."

[00:10:04] Nicole Bauer: And I do love that you said that because I feel like we all kinda do that, where we're like, "Oh, well, this person's doing biostimulators, and I haven't [00:10:10] brought that on yet.

Like, I need to bring that on." Yeah. And I, I very much stick to filler. That's my lane. Yes. And I love filler, and I do a lot of full faces and balancing. And I d- I re- I refer to other staff. [00:10:20] Like, I don't take- Yeah ... the, the biostimulator patients. I'm like, "No, you can see Cami or Gab," or, you know, because I don't do it, and I stick, I stick to filler, and that's what I like, you know?

Which, I- And it's okay ...

[00:10:28] Jenna Hilton: love that. No, that's great. Yeah. But so, and I [00:10:30] think the hard part is though is your patients get so sticky to you- Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm ... that they kind of drove me- They have a hard time trusting somebody else ... they drove me. Yeah. Yeah,

[00:10:37] Nicole Bauer: yeah.

[00:10:37] Jenna Hilton: So that's how I got, uh, now I'm, like, [00:10:40] refilling all their other medication.

Yeah. I'm like, "No, I don't wanna be- Right ... all of those things to you forever." Yes. Like, you, you have a UTI, or I had, I got, I got a personal message about a ni- like, [00:10:50] a yeast cream in the, the vaginal- Sure. Yes, yeah ... vaginal, vaginal- ... vaginal area, like, on my personal phone. Mm-hmm. And I'm like, "No, this is not-" Yeah.

Like, you gotta take the yeasty [00:11:00] situation- Elsewhere ... to another provider. Yes. I mean, and I still refilled it and- Oh, I know ... still did it. Yeah. Yeah. But that, that is the hard part, is that your patients become so sticky to you- Yes ... they only [00:11:10] want Nicole to do- Yeah ... all of the things. So then, but that also motivates you to do the best for them, right?

Right. Right. Of course. Absolutely. So which sometimes is referring them.

[00:11:18] Nicole Bauer: Right.

[00:11:18] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:11:18] Nicole Bauer: Yep.

[00:11:19] Jenna Hilton: Yeah. [00:11:20]

[00:11:20] Jon LeSuer: So you have a patient that you're doing, two patients that you're doing the same treatment on. Yeah. Okay? That you give a filler and you have Biostim, you're doing all these things. Yes. One of them drinks, one of [00:11:30] them smokes.

Um, one of them has dairy intolerance. Then you have the other one who doesn't drink, doesn't smoke. She eats healthy, she works out, and she gets the same [00:11:40] treatments done. Who's gonna have the better result?

[00:11:42] Jenna Hilton: Well, I mean, obviously, right? Yeah. The lifestyle, but I, the hard part is is sometimes I'll withhold treatment until they change their lifestyle.

[00:11:49] Jon LeSuer: [00:11:50] Such a good point.

[00:11:51] Jenna Hilton: I, if I open up their little mouth and I see red gums and they drink all the time, they're inflamed- So you do

[00:11:57] Jon LeSuer: this all-

[00:11:58] Jenna Hilton: Yes ... in

[00:11:58] Jon LeSuer: your assessment?

[00:11:58] Jenna Hilton: Yes.

[00:11:59] Jon LeSuer: [00:12:00] Wow.

[00:12:00] Jenna Hilton: So I'm like... And I had a, I had a model- It's amazing ... one time at an AMI training, and she just, her skin just looked dry and dull and exhausted, and I could just tell, like, she [00:12:10] didn't sleep the l- the night before.

And I, like, like, lift up her gums. She has red, beet red gums. Yeah. Um, and she had a little bit of a s- fasciculation of her [00:12:20] tongue, which is sometimes, not always, but sometimes a sign of, you know, like, alcohol issues or maybe, like, a nutrient deficiency- Yes, yes ... associated with alcohol d- issues. [00:12:30] Um, and so I just asked her about her alcohol, and she drinks, you know, a bottle of wine every night.

And I'm like- love you, I think you're great. I know you're going through a stressful time, divorce, all [00:12:40] the things, but I'm putting, like, an implant into your face, and your tissue's not ready for it. It looks inflamed. It looks irritated. We can do Botox today. We're going to treat you with Botox, but I [00:12:50] really think that we need to put you on a little gl- glutathione.

I want to put you on some omegas. Just want to reset and refresh. I really want to, like, reduce some of the stress, and then [00:13:00] we're going to get you in a good spot. But right now- Mm-hmm ... your tissue's telling me it's angry, and if I put something in there, it's going to attack it. And it was kind of like when people understand that their appearance, their [00:13:10] aesthetic appearance, is affected by their lifestyle, they change in two seconds.

Yep.

[00:13:15] Nicole Bauer: Then it really clicks.

[00:13:16] Jenna Hilton: It really clicks. They really do. And then e- even by using glutathione to, like, boost their [00:13:20] liver, support detox, improve, improve cl- you know, brightness within their skin- Yeah ... then they're like, "Well, what else can I do?" They see those things, and then they start feeling better.

They're like, "Maybe I [00:13:30] didn't need that alcohol. Maybe I did want that good night's sleep." Mm-hmm. And they start to kind of change. Mm-hmm. And so we can use that as the way- Right ... to kind of stop, right? And that's, like, I [00:13:40] think it's not like you're j- holding it in the carrot. Yes, maybe they want that, but maybe just give them a little something.

But I also think it's important as medical professionals to, [00:13:50] to really have conversations about that.

[00:13:52] Jon LeSuer: I love that.

[00:13:52] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:13:53] Jon LeSuer: That's great. I'm left speechless after that Love you guys. Like, I'm just sitting here, I'm

[00:13:58] Jenna Hilton: like, "Wow." You're

[00:13:59] Jon LeSuer: like, "

[00:13:59] Nicole Bauer: Wow."

[00:13:59] Jenna Hilton: You're like, "What,

[00:13:59] Nicole Bauer: [00:14:00] what, what do I have to change in my consult right now?"

[00:14:01] Jon LeSuer: Yeah. I'm like, "Can you look at my gums, please?"

[00:14:03] Jenna Hilton: Well, okay, I know, and that's... Actually, the gums and the teeth are my favorite, favorite thing. I like to see how the bite [00:14:10] is on their teeth. Yes. I like to see how the bone is breaking down. I like to guess their hormonal phase by their antagonial notch- Oh, my gosh.

Yes ... how their bones feel, [00:14:20] how the needle feels on their bone. I like to guess their hormone status. It's like my favorite little game. And sometimes I'm right and s- um, sometimes it, it surprises me. Right. Like, sometimes I'm like, "Wow, [00:14:30] you have just like a really, really," you know s- You know what I'm talking about when you're- I do

injecting the- Yeah ... the bone and it's like almost is so spongy? Oh, it's

[00:14:37] Jon LeSuer: so... Yes.

[00:14:37] Jenna Hilton: Yep. You're like- You never get that ... "No." Yeah. Yeah. We need [00:14:40] to, we need to support your testosterone. We need to. Yeah. And your, you know, your estrogen levels, 'cause remember estrogen helps to keep it from like breaking down. Right.

You know, testosterone helps to keep that build. Yeah. So it's just like [00:14:50] those types of things are really important- Mm-hmm ... within it. But I think also just being able to read the skin. Yeah. I mean, you guys saw with the lady with the red face. Right. Like, when you read her skin, the first thing we [00:15:00] think of is laser, right?

And you're like, "No, this girl, her s- everything's dry." I'm looking at this is gut dysfunction barrier issues, right? So then we gotta fix the barrier within the gut.

[00:15:09] Nicole Bauer: How are [00:15:10] you, like, implementing this in your practice? Like, do you have memberships? Yeah. Great question. Is it more of a consult fees?

[00:15:15] Jenna Hilton: So I've gone back and forth.

I mean, I don't have memberships or, um, [00:15:20] concierge medicine because I do have, in my opinion, very needy patients. And so if I give them... And maybe I need to, and then just like raise prices. Mm-hmm. [00:15:30] But for me, I've always been, this is my cost to see you as like a wellness provider. Mm-hmm. But what's... And then I- you pay the cost, and then I don't up-charge for [00:15:40] medications, I don't up-charge for peptides.

I just raise my price for my wellness evaluation. Mm-hmm. But what's kind of fun is, like I have other, uh, wellness providers that I work with, [00:15:50] and they have like a s- a 60-minute wellness evaluation. They go through all the details, all the things, and to me it's, it's a lifestyle suck for me. Mm-hmm. So I only give them 30 minutes.

Yeah. [00:16:00] And so then the expectation is different, right? Because I don't want to be their everything. Right. I'm gonna give them little tidbits, and I've been doing it for long enough that I can do it in a quick way.

[00:16:09] Nicole Bauer: Right.

[00:16:09] Jenna Hilton: Um, [00:16:10] but I can do treatments, do their follow-ups, get prescriptions sent out. But the hard part is, is you need staff to be able to support that.

Mm-hmm. So my medical assistant has to be, you know, [00:16:20] helpful with writing notes, sending prescriptions. Right. It's a lot on the back end. You'd, I'm know, you know this. Yes. Um, so you just have to have the support staff in place. But I find that we [00:16:30] are uniquely, if you have the skills or the desire- We don't need to go into all the in-depth things.

We can refer some of that out- Right,

[00:16:39] Nicole Bauer: yep ...

[00:16:39] Jenna Hilton: and then [00:16:40] focus on some of the things that we'd like to do with their hormones or we'd like to do with their gut. But maybe if we, you know, if they're having anal fissures- Right. Mm-hmm ... we can refer them to GI. Yeah. Sure. Yes. Yeah. [00:16:50] You know what I mean? So those types of things that can be helpful.

So I do find that if people want to do both, there's rarely a lot that do do both. Mm-hmm. I find that I have my, [00:17:00] my fun little functional practitioners and my aesthetics, but there's not many of us in between.

[00:17:04] Nicole Bauer: Yeah.

[00:17:05] Jenna Hilton: But I find that the people that do, do really well with it.

[00:17:07] Jon LeSuer: Mm-hmm. It's amazing.

[00:17:08] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:17:09] Jon LeSuer: Um, [00:17:10] so for those of you that don't know Jenna, she's a big leader in our field.

[00:17:14] Jenna Hilton: No, I don't know about that. Y-

[00:17:15] Jon LeSuer: you are.

[00:17:16] Jenna Hilton: I think, no.

[00:17:16] Jon LeSuer: She's spoken on a lot of main stages. You've been on, you've done multiple [00:17:20] conferences, and, um, I just love that you combine y- your functional medicine with injectables. You don't see that a lot. Yeah, thank you. You either see one or the other.

[00:17:29] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:17:29] Jon LeSuer: So [00:17:30] it's just, I feel like you're, like, the total package when it comes to-

[00:17:32] Jenna Hilton: Thanks, guys

[00:17:33] Jon LeSuer: yeah, like, an aesthetics wellness provider, so it's pretty amazing. Um, she's an Allergan [00:17:40] trainer. Um, how do people find you on Instagram?

[00:17:42] Jenna Hilton: Oh, so my, my Instagram name is jennahealthylancepa. Yep. Um, and I do have a Patreon on there, [00:17:50] which is fun. I put some consultation videos, kind of similar to, like, what we discuss.

Mm-hmm. But, like, it's like diving deeper in ways, and we go into little details. But then we have functional med [00:18:00] topics, and then I have a fun group. It's actually my favorite thing that I do of anything- Mm-hmm ... is our mentorship group because it's just a group of providers that are trying to navigate this [00:18:10] together, and we're just...

Because there's not, like, again, when it comes to protocols, when it comes to understanding research, it's so new. I mean, what, what, [00:18:20] it's, every month it's changing. So it's nice to have a group of providers that we're just kind of brainstorming all of this together.

[00:18:25] Jon LeSuer: It's amazing.

[00:18:26] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:18:26] Jon LeSuer: Community. Community- Community

is so

[00:18:28] Jenna Hilton: important. Yeah.

[00:18:29] Jon LeSuer: It's needed more [00:18:30] than ever.

[00:18:30] Jenna Hilton: I know. It

[00:18:31] Jon LeSuer: really

[00:18:31] Jenna Hilton: is.

[00:18:31] Jon LeSuer: You know? Seriously. I always, I've literally brought this up each time. Um, it's so important to have your community of friends and your injectors you can reach out to 'cause God forbid, if you're at odds with [00:18:40] people- Yeah ... you're alone on an island, what if you need help?

Yep.

[00:18:43] Jenna Hilton: Well, and I- You know? ... will say, like, during my transition in February-

[00:18:46] Jon LeSuer: Yeah ...

[00:18:47] Jenna Hilton: it was, I was overwhelmed by the [00:18:50] amount of people- Support ... of providers ... and, like, love that you had. Yes. Yeah. Oh, that just- reached out and just kind of carried me through that whole situation.

[00:18:57] Jon LeSuer: I'm glad you were overwhelmed.

[00:18:58] Jenna Hilton: I was overwhelmed.

'Cause it's a good realization. And it [00:19:00] was, yeah, and I, like, I think as a provider, you're always taking care of other people- You are ... so you're not used to being taken care of, besides my husband, who's feeding me all my meals and giving me all my things, who's sitting next to us. [00:19:10] But besides him, you don't get really taken care of until like- Yeah

and so it's so good when you do need that support, that you feel, I mean, you reached out a couple of [00:19:20] times during that time. Mm-hmm. And you were loving my patients' outbursts- I was ... on social media.

[00:19:25] Jon LeSuer: Yeah, this is amazing. Um, but- I've never seen anything like it.

[00:19:28] Jenna Hilton: I know.

[00:19:29] Jon LeSuer: They stand for [00:19:30] Jenna.

[00:19:30] Jenna Hilton: They s- well, because I think they know that at the end of the day- Of course

I'm there for them, you know? Yeah. And I'm, I'm here to try to be the best version of myself for my patients, best [00:19:40] version of myself as a parent, and so, and for my community, right? Yeah. And so I think that we're all just trying to kind of be that, so when you, when you f- when you have a hard time, it's just, that's what you [00:19:50] fall back.

Sure. And that's what was overwhelming. Yeah.

[00:19:52] Jon LeSuer: It's amazing.

[00:19:52] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:19:53] Jon LeSuer: I love it.

[00:19:54] Jenna Hilton: Love you guys.

[00:19:54] Jon LeSuer: Um, what is one thing that you love about Modern Beauty Con, and what brings you here? [00:20:00]

[00:20:00] Jenna Hilton: Oh, so this was my first visit to Modern Beauty Con.

[00:20:04] Jon LeSuer: Oh.

[00:20:04] Jenna Hilton: First time.

[00:20:05] Jon LeSuer: Okay,

[00:20:05] Jenna Hilton: welcome. How many times have you come?

[00:20:06] Jon LeSuer: S- it's my second.

[00:20:07] Jenna Hilton: Second, okay.

So far, [00:20:10] and my favorite track is being able to have a calculated track throughout the day. Yes. Because I'm such a FOMO girl- Yes ... that if I know something, like, [00:20:20] when I had my one talk, and Julie was talking next door- You're like, "

[00:20:23] Jon LeSuer: What the heck?"

[00:20:23] Jenna Hilton: I was like, "John, you're not gonna come to my talk?" You're going to Julie's talk.

[00:20:29] Jon LeSuer: Really [00:20:30] make me feel like shit

[00:20:30] Jenna Hilton: right now. I know. I was like, "Well, you don't wanna talk about adipose tissue and functional signaling of hormones and fats?" Like, that is, that is gold right there.

[00:20:39] Jon LeSuer: I'm like, I go, "You're gonna [00:20:40] kill it, but-"

[00:20:40] Jenna Hilton: And I'm going to Julie's. But I won't be there. So-

[00:20:43] Jon LeSuer: I was

[00:20:43] Jenna Hilton: like, I want- That is my favorite thing.

Is that it's like they come up with the ideas of, like, what someone wants to get [00:20:50] from the weekend, because I get distracted- I know ... and I can't read the agenda. And

[00:20:53] Jon LeSuer: it's all in one room. Yep, it's all in one room. And you can just go- Yep ... lecture to lecture. It's nice.

[00:20:56] Jenna Hilton: So I love that. I feel like that's- Yeah

that was a fabulous part of [00:21:00] this, and I'm excited about the evening tonight. Me too. And, um, yeah, and tomorrow. And so I think it's really great to have that cadaver lab, and then have two set days-

[00:21:08] Jon LeSuer: Yes ...

[00:21:08] Jenna Hilton: that we can all be together, [00:21:10] and-

[00:21:10] Jon LeSuer: Amazing ...

[00:21:10] Jenna Hilton: John doesn't sneak out. Yeah. 'Cause there's no other options. Ah. I

[00:21:17] Nicole Bauer: can't.

He's

[00:21:18] Jenna Hilton: forced to listen to you. I am. Forced to listen to my hormone- ... [00:21:20] my hormone craziness. I know,

[00:21:21] Jon LeSuer:

[00:21:21] Jenna Hilton: love it. You probably have to listen to it all the time with your husband, though.

[00:21:23] Jon LeSuer: Oh, eh, so-so.

[00:21:25] Jenna Hilton: Okay.

[00:21:26] Jon LeSuer: Yeah.

[00:21:26] Jenna Hilton: Yeah.

[00:21:27] Jon LeSuer: Um, oh, my God, thank you so much for- Yes ... [00:21:30] coming and being a part of

[00:21:31] Jenna Hilton: this. Thanks for letting me be a part of this.

[00:21:32] Jon LeSuer: Yes.

[00:21:32] Jenna Hilton: Excited.

[00:21:33] Jon LeSuer: And till next time-

[00:21:35] Jenna Hilton: Yeah ...

[00:21:35] Jon LeSuer: on the Fill Me In podcast.

[00:21:36] Jenna Hilton: [00:21:40] Yes.
