Peach Basket and a Dream
In 1891, James Naismith created basketball as a way for athletes to stay active in the winter months between the baseball and football seasons. The first game was super raw, much like this podcast, and used literal peach baskets on poles to form the "hoop". With nothing but a peach basket and a dream, the wonderful sport of basketball was born.
Similarly, with nothing but a microphone and way too many opinions, this podcast was born.
In this space, we cover basketball in terms of numbers, but more importantly we also get into the characters and story lines that make up some of the best reality TV available in the form of the NBA and WNBA.
Looking for a simple game to play and test your basketball knowledge?
Try out Basketball Leg Ends on Instagram. Every few days we will post a picture of a basketball player's legs and task you with identifying that player.

Peach Basket and a Dream
E40 - Poeltl's Development, Jared McCain is NOT ROTY, and a Few Great Nicknames
This episode is purely MNBA talk. The W expansion draft episode is coming VERY soon.
Start off with some Raptors discussion, focused primarily on the overlap with IQ and the development of Poeltl without "expanding" his game.
Couple stats for the Pistons and Jazz that illustrate the value of knowing your players' strengths and highlighting them with your style of play.
Next we get into some rookie talk. Plain and simple, Jared McCain has put up some numbers but they haven't resulted in wins and I hold that against him compared to say a Stephon Castle or Dalton Knecht, for example. Why do we value empty stats with rookies? We really shouldn't.
Finally, we spend a little time discussing some fun nicknames that have popped up and potential celebrations to go with them.
