Speaker 1:

And welcome everybody to another episode of Real Talk. Doc, you doing all right today.

Speaker 2:

Well, in theory I am. It's a blessing that we enjoyed the Fourth of July with family, big food, put on some weight beer, you know smoked cigar. But my sports team sucks. I'm doing all right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I hear you. Yeah, I was just in San Diego back home with the family and it was amazing. Got to check out a Padres game, which we'll get into that in a little bit.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, other than that it was great.

Speaker 1:

The only thing that hurts me it hurts my heart, and then we'll go ahead and dive into all this sports stuff is the Chargers. You still, as I go in a couple different bars around town and stuff, you still may see a little bit of Chargers, flags or posters and all that, but it's pretty much it, it's all, and rightfully so. It's all Padres, aztecs, that's mainly what it is. But it's still good to at least walk around and see a few Chargers stuff. And you're seeing more and more come out, because when we moved about five, six years ago or whatever how long it was, it was nothing. You couldn't find anything anywhere, everything was burnt down and all that.

Speaker 1:

But now we're starting to see, I'm seeing some friends come out of the closet with their Chargers jerseys because they're back supporting the team because of Herbert or Derwin James and now harbaugh and all that. So, um, you know it's, it's good to at least see a little bit, but it's still a little bittersweet when I go back home and of course qualcomm is not there. They got the snapdragon stadium where the aztecs play. It's just that. Yes, definitely a little bittersweet, for sure, going back home, but nonetheless I was able to catch a padres game and all that. So it was good being back home.

Speaker 2:

Well, you're a diehard San Diego sports fan. You're not the only one that feels the way. My buddy Mike you know he's a Charger fan, he lives in Chicago via Montana and he feels that you never should have left that big market. San Diego is a massive city, area-wise, it's not a small market. San Diego's a massive city area-wise, it's not a small market. So hopefully in years to come, maybe a decade that something can happen relative to that. But I feel your pain relative to that man. You should have a sports team in football down there NFL. There's a lot of historic names Fowles, winslow, sr. Gil Bird Junior Seau Ladanian Thomason, soinslow Sr. You know, gil Bird Junior Seau, ladainian Thomason. So yeah, I feel your pain but I'm glad you enjoyed your family man. It was good to get back to the big city down in San Diego. Beautiful, good job.

Speaker 1:

So get into your stuff. I know we just had a nice little moment, but on to your Braves. Doc, how are you feeling? It's not looking too hot down there, but how are you feeling about your break?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we need to blow the thing up, man, get Snicker out of there, you know, forcing him to retire. He gave us a chip four years ago but we need somebody with fire. This guy's an old man now. He's been in baseball 40 years in the organization. You know, sometimes the voice doesn't do wonders anymore. We have too much talent to be floundering around.

Speaker 2:

We just got swept by the Orioles man, you know, and now we're going to road to play the A's, and I'm not optimistic about playing the A's in Sacramento on the road. You know we dropped two or three the previous series. You know, to who do we play? Oh, was it the Boston Red Sox? Somebody? So we, we, we just going around here just trailing the water, you know, and it's one of those things.

Speaker 2:

Marlon, that is a great disappointment, not just to me but all Braves fans. You know I'm trying to keep my cool here because I love Snicker, but he has to go, you know. If you're asking me, do I still wish we had Freddie Freeman, a character guy, a locker room guy, dan Smyth Swanson the same, you know and let alone Max Reed? Yeah, I do wish all this. You know, nothing against Matt Olsen, who recently hit a grand slam on Thursday, I think it was.

Speaker 2:

But it's one of those things where you can't replace the locker room and that's what we're missing. We're missing people that can turn this thing around and all that. Matt Olsen's not a true brave. You know there's no salary cap in baseball. So Max Reed is 11-2 with the Yankees, with an ERA sub-3. And just to think that, alex Anthopoulos you know who? I think he outsmarted himself. He had a great move four years ago with the chip and you got to keep your great players. So, to answer your question briefly, we're going to get rid of Snicker and other management and the coaches and all that because the message is old. You know, we're 12, 13 and a half games out of first seven and a half games, or eight behind the wild ass wild card. You can't make that up in the second half. Even the most optimistic Braves fan doesn't feel that way.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, 13 and a half games back, two and eight in your last 10. Yeah, it's been tough. I think at home you're decent. 24 and 22. So not the worst, but on the road I mean 15 and 28.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's obviously. I mean, you know, that's what's killing you guys. Yeah, brother, yeah. And it's hard to make up because, of course, phillies and the Mets I mean 52 and 53 wins, you're not going to catch up to that. And even the Marlins, they're out there right behind you with 40 wins, but even still, if you look at the whole NL, I mean the Cubbies are there, brewers are there, Cardinals are doing great at 48 wins, and you still got to look at the Reds. And then, of course which leads me to my next point what's going on with the Dodgers man? I mean still 56 wins, but what's going on with the Dodgers man?

Speaker 2:

Well, they were smelling themselves, man. You know they started out like a house of fire 8-0, and they're coming back to earth. Teams go to LA and we're all jacked up. No way in the world should they lose to the Houston Astros and lose 18-1 on Friday. Brother, you know, and this is Fourth of July weekend, you know you had the fireworks and everything. This is Dodger Stadium. If anything. You win that game, you know. But then they turn around and get swept. I can't name not one player on the Houston Astros team, not one. They outscored them 26-9. Turn around tonight. They lost 9-1.

Speaker 2:

I beg the question whether you know Dave Roberts has run his full course with that. They just won it all, man. But something's going on there internally. You know Kershaw's not pitching good Yamamoto. You know they're not hitting with those fast. So Tommy's doing his thing, but when you get smoked and swept at the crib, you know they're not hitting with those fast.

Speaker 2:

Otani's doing his thing, but when you get smoked and swept at the crib, you know 18-1, that's Florida Marlins or Atlanta Braves this year type of loss. You know, not the Dodgers, not with that payroll. And now you got a four-game losing streak after getting swept by Houston. You lost tonight. You know 9-1. So I don't know. Man, you know there seems to be a long leash because they did win it all. But there's some people out there in Dodger that still don't like Dave Roberts Got to give them the benefit of the doubt. It is just midseason and I believe they're one or two games still in first place. But if you're a Dodger fan you don't like the way you're playing. This can bite you in the ass going down the stretch.

Speaker 1:

And if the Padres catch fire or the Diamondbacks or the Giants, watch out, you know.

Speaker 2:

So, speaking of baseball's quirky.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's 56 wins for the Dodgers Padres, right behind at 48, giants at 49 um win percentage is why we're a little bit higher. And then the Diamondbacks are at 44 wins. So it's going to be a dogfight towards the end and one of these teams most likely will catch fire. We'll see who it is, or if the Giants can at least just figure it out. Or maybe they're just ready for the all-star break and then at that point they come back and they're just ready to roll and they're just preparing themselves. It's just like the Patriots would do, just like the Chiefs. They may not look great when it matters. In the regular season they do enough to either win their division and or make playoffs, and then at that point playoffs come. They just turn it on and that's it.

Speaker 2:

But the difference is, mar, more than relative to the dodgers, significant injuries with the pitching staff. I mean serious injuries with the pitching staff. A couple of them came back and then, uh, they're not pitching well but they're losing people. Everybody has injuries, man, you can't make excuses for the dodgers man, but they've had some serious injuries. Most latest is max muncy. Who's out? Who's out to late August with a severe thigh injury or leg injury. You know it was a brutal injury. At any moment Max Muncy is kind of their glue as far as clutch, you know. But Freddie Freeman, all the time they're doing this thing. But Mookie Best didn't even make the all-star team and he's usually a mainstay in Dodger Nation. You know Clutch make the all-star team and he's usually a mainstay in dodger nation. You know clutch, and he hasn't been doing it, you know.

Speaker 1:

So we'll see. Uh, yeah, all right. And then the last thing I have for you, on with two more things, actually a question for you who so all-star? Uh, you know results came out and all that, so who is the bigger? Uh, if you will? Um, what's the bigger surprise? Mookie Mookie not making it or Juan Soto not making all-star team?

Speaker 2:

I think it's Mookie. Mookie's a better all-around player and he's got a chip. His pedigree, he got two chips and there's two or three chips. So I think Mookie not making it's a surprise man in the National League. Juan Soto, he's been somewhat of a disappointment, got off to a slow start. You can't say that about Mookie. Mookie was solid. You know he's having a solid year, but not a Mookie Betts year. So I would say that Mookie Betts not making it, just the name Mookie Betts. I know Juan Soto's great and probably a Hall of Famer, but you know Mookie is Mookie Betts. He's several positions outfield, infield, whatever you want clutch hitting, homers, still bases but the fact that he didn't make it tells you something you know. So, yeah, I'll have to go there.

Speaker 1:

Okay, alright, and then the last question I have for you. Looks like there's a catcher out there in Seattle possibly is going to be breaking some records soon.

Speaker 2:

I think so, man. This cat man came out of nowhere. This year I think he's got 35 or 36 home runs for Seattle as a catcher Shattered Johnny Bench and I love Bench, I'm old enough to remember his latter years with the Reds and he's one of those things as a positional player, a catcher, which is demanding to begin with, in 162 games, the fact that he's showing serious bomb power or pop in his bat before the All-Star, that says something. He's on breath. He's on breath, not to say he's going to have 62, but 55 is not out of the realm of possibility.

Speaker 2:

And Seattle is a sneaky team up there in the Pacific Northwest, a safe, cold part, one of the most beautiful stadiums. That is on my bucket list to visit this cat here. Man, he's doing it for Seattle, you know, in the AL West. So, yeah, props out to him, man, you know what I'm saying. When you think Seattle, you think each row, you think Ken Griffey, and he shattered both of them as far as home runs before the all-star break. And Griffey, this is Ken Griffey. He didn't have this kind of home runs before the all-star break. So yeah, there you go.

Speaker 1:

Okay, all right, now onto the NBA. Now we're not going to get into any NFL this episode. We will bring back the breaking down every division. That is going to come back, starting next week. So, um, so we'll do that for eight weeks. We might need to shorten it up a little bit, um, when we get ready for the season and all that. So, um, but we will break down every division, and that is starting up next week. So definitely excited about that. Um, and, of course, fantasy season is coming up too. Doc is uh, are you in fantasy this year? Doc, you playing with us?

Speaker 2:

Yes, I am, brother. Yes, I am. I want it on my other league and let's do it. There's a lot of things going on out there, but yeah, we'll talk about that. Yeah, what you got baby.

Speaker 1:

All right. So now, on the NBA, we're going to jump into it. Free agency a lot happened, lots going on, from Kevin Durant all the way down to just what was announced today, Halliburton being out for the year, which I think we all expected that We'll start with the Lakers. Doc Bron did opt into his contract and we did get DeAndre Ayton. So what are your thoughts on the Lakers' moves thus far?

Speaker 2:

Well, at least DeAndre Ayton is. So what are your thoughts on the Lakers moves thus far? Well, at least the under eight is a big body. Give you double doubles, 10 points, 12 points and 10 rebounds, something like that to offset some of the big, especially Rudy Gobert in the West man. It's not going to put you in title contention, but things like this need to be done to squeeze the Laker fan. You know LeBron's in his last year. Who knows how much minutes can he play for 82 games if he does play 82 games. But this is the Lakers.

Speaker 2:

So I'm happy with DeAndre Ayton, a former number one overall pick. He's in the Laker land. I think Redick is going to motivate us. But to have some career highs maybe 15 or 16 a game and 12 rebounds you needed something. Introduction with the young fella on the bench coming off the bench that could do your bigs right there. You got two seven-footers at the five spot. Now Luke is in shape Legally 20 pounds he's lost. So we'll see how that do. As far as that, as far as that go. So yeah, you know, all you needed was a doable center, you know, just to make it out of the first or second round and then you take it from there. You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, absolutely so. All right Now. Lonzo is now a Cleveland Cavalier. Is this the step he needs to rejuvenate his career, and is this the move that the Cavs need to help them get over the hump?

Speaker 2:

Cleveland. To me. They was a disappointment last year and I'm hoping they learn from that horrible experience having the number one seed in the east and they get blown up in the beginning of the playoffs. So yeah, that might get them over the hump. Man, you would think you know, because I still love Donovan Mitchell who put up 40 points almost every night and still got ousted. So you need more from Garland. You need more from Garland. You need more from the other cat. You know the other guard, so it could be coaching, you know, because if Donovan Mitchell doing his business as a smaller guard, then he's on what 6'3" you know. So we'll see how that goes, man.

Speaker 1:

And that's being nice with the 6'3", but yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it begs the question. I mean east with the, with the knicks, and then not at the high, your boy, mike brown. Is that enough? And people forget about detroit. Man. You know, k cunningham is the truth. I love the coach up there, bigger staff junior for detroit pistons. They might be a team that can elevate now that Indiana is going by the wayside because of a horrific injury to Halliburton. But keep an eye on Detroit. And if Milwaukee somehow keeps the Greek freak, you'd think that they might be somewhat of a force. But my Atlanta Hawks picking up a center from the University of Georgia and then they got the big guy from Boston, you know. So we'll see. The East is going to be interesting, man, and I think I'm missing a couple of teams. But you know, to answer your question, no, we got to see Cleveland. I bit the bullet and they failed me badly. I had them in the finals versus OKC. But go ahead, marlon, yeah.

Speaker 1:

All right, and then a couple more things I got, I think what's a bigger well, I wouldn't even say that we're going to go to each one of these individually. Damian Lillard I did not think this would happen, but here it is, with the buyout or no, he got waived by the Bucs, yeah. So, he's not going to play all next year. So what does this mean for him and his career, and is there a team next year that's definitely going to want him?

Speaker 2:

that he could be a factor in immediately going into signing with that team. Well, given that he is going to miss the entire season and he got injured during the postseason, there has to be a team out there that would take a chance. He's no spring chicken either. I think he's 34 or 35. It's one of those things coming off a significant injury with that salary. You know you can't blame Milwaukee for doing this, because he didn't deliver when he was healthy and he missed some time late in the year or mid-year with the injury. So I don't blame the Bucs for doing that.

Speaker 2:

It just seems strange that Dame's out there Again. Does he go back to Portland? I don't think Chauncey Billings would do that, you know, because he's got a young squad and he don't want to mess up the chemistry, but we're missing an entire year's rough, especially at that age. I would think some Midland team would take a shot at him, maybe New Orleans Pelicans or something like that. But he's going to miss the entire year, Marlon, and it's a cold business man. They didn't even wait. They got rid of him, put him on the streets and this is Damian Lillard, you know.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, there you go. I think they're as you alluded to. I think they may be worried about losing Giannis. So they had to figure out OK, what are we going to, what can we do to keep him? And then, from the sounds of things, he wasn't happy, obviously about this. So, but you kind of had well, I don't know if he had to do this move, but with all that money's all tied up. So at this point you did everything that you needed to do to get him help. You got him help and which at some points, he was a no-show.

Speaker 1:

Whenever Giannis didn't play, he wasn't the player that he was in Portland. So it's almost like now he was the guy in Portland and now he's just a secondary guy and he's proven with Giannis being out some of those games, or if Giannis was not dominating the game, as he sometimes doesn't do. This is when Damian Lillard needs to be Damian Lillard of old and it's now somewhat transitioning to him being kind of like a Kevin Durant. And I think when Kevin Durant's in Houston we're going to see flashes of him being the old KD, but I think we're going to see more of him just scoring, kind of when he needs to, maybe averaging 19. You know 22 points, but just not being that old Kevin Durant that can drop 30.

Speaker 2:

But I'm yeah you can't expect that because they're just names right now. Much like LeBron, you know, and a guy like 82 games, no defensive skills. Now the leg injuries have taken his toll. He might miss time this year. I think he plays top 60 games, you know, with his low managerial injury in and of itself, and that's being generous, you know. So it's interesting to see what Emey and Doca do down there. Does down there. I wouldn't have broke it up. You had to do the route. You saw OKC stayed the route and added a couple of pieces. But when you lose Jalen Green man, a budding superstar, it begs the question whether Durant, with his age, can make that up. You know, the West is brutal brother. Oh yeah, you know.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

And you're hoping and praying Durant stays healthy, but we did say the same thing when he signed with the Phoenix Suns Yep, you know. So we'll see how that goes.

Speaker 1:

It's an interesting matchup there 37, I believe soon to be 38, kd. Yeah, I'm not paying top dollar for somebody like that. Now, it's crazy too with Steph Curry. He's just about that same age too as well. But you know, when you look at a 40, 40, 41 year old lebron and seeing the longevity that he's had, a lot of these players are, uh, the, the top tier players are at least paying attention, taking care of their body because they want to have a long career too as well. So, um, speaking of lebron and the lakers, I think, um, it's, it's a great move, I think, think by the Mavs by signing D'Angelo Russell. This is a move that you basically are signing him and telling him hey, you are going to be the guy for minimum 50, 60 games, minimum.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Kyrie's not going to rush Kyrie back. Whenever he is fully healthy. We'll ease him in no-transcript. But you know this is this is a big move for him. He's you.

Speaker 1:

I have a love hate relationship with him, but for the most part I really do like the guy. When he's on, he's on, but he can drive you crazy at times. But you're going into the season with a Klay Thompson, a Cooper, flagg Gafford and, of course, anthony Davis, and you have a solid bench too as well. You just don't need to mess it up. You can be that facilitator, score sometimes when you need to. Don't get cute. You'll never be in a situation where you need to do too much because you have a shooter in clay. You got Cooper, who's young, and you can run him like a dog, and of course, you got Anthony Davis, when healthy, who can score whenever he wants to. So just don't mess it up. So I really do love what the maps did and I'm hoping that it works out for him, because at at the earliest, at the earliest, kairi will be back february, march or even april, leading into the playoffs they're a sneaky team.

Speaker 2:

I'm not against the mavericks, but health is the issue. You mentioned Davis. He misses his customary 20 to 25 games for stomach ailments, leg problems, whatever. He's getting older too, what is he? 32 or 33? So health is the thing now. Now, luckily, cooper Flagg is going to sell tickets. He's the first pick of the draft.

Speaker 2:

You know, I like Derek Lively, the other cat, so we'll see, man, how Dallas does with their situation. Man, but the Kyrie thing might hurt them in the long run, because when you get to the postseason you could do a lot of things to rotate players, to shut down the other guard, and if Kyrie is not totally healthy, just coming back during postseason next year, that's just too far ahead, man. I want to see what kind of impact Cooper Flagg is going to have. And, speaking about the NBA draft, man, I want to see what Ace Bailey does with Utah. Allegedly wasn't happy getting to go to Washington. He's still a talent, severe talent. He's saying all the right things, but I think his people, his management team, messed up that little young 18-year-old. He was 18, man. Tell it or not. You know Utah has some things out there, but can we expect a big jump like that and health is a problem with a lot of these players.

Speaker 2:

And I didn't even mention Joel Embiid. You know, in 76er land we had a great draft. You know they drafted your boy out of Baylor, I think it was. I think Memory serves me correct. But Joel Embiid, you know, every year you hope for the best. He has an MVP to his credit, but he's getting up in age. Can he stay healthy? If he does, the 76ers can ruin the East man with his dominance. And Maxie, tyrone, maxie. So these are the questions that I have, man, health-wise, with these critical players on these various teams. You know what I'm saying. And that includes LeBron.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, go ahead brother, 100% All right. And the last thing I have for you I know they were possibly looking into Jasonason kidd, but it looks like mike brown does land with the knicks.

Speaker 2:

So what are your thoughts on that? That hire it's it's. It's the best hire they could do under the circumstances. Personally, I would have kept thibodeau tibbs, who did it best he could under the circumstances. Mike brown is two-time nba of the year but it bears the question of whether these guys are going to buy into his particular system. You know he did numbers in Sacramento but they got rid of Darren Fox. They kind of undercut him out there.

Speaker 2:

The guy can coach, but this is New York man. You know, this is the Big Apple, a big market, the biggest market. So, under pressure in the postseason, they're ready to win the chip. Forget just making the playoffs and can Mike Brown show the affinity to appease these players, man, whether it's Bridges or Jalen Bronson, you know, or Big Cat Carl Anthony Towns, because you might as well have kept dibs. Yeah, you know, and the owner is a joke, dolan, you know, and then they got some other cat running the show. We'll see how that goes, man, but under the circumstances, to answer your question, they did the best they could to get somewhat of a named coach that has a pedigree with two-time NBA coach of the year. You know, just making the playoffs is not enough. In the Big Apple, you got to go deep, exactly. So here we go.

Speaker 1:

You got a million eyes on you so at all times. But yep, um, but other than that, doc, that's all I got for you, man. You got anything else for us?

Speaker 2:

no, no, this is a short one today, man, you know, and it's nothing going on. Oh, the wmba saw a great game between minnesota and chicago sky. You know, angel reese made the all-star team and she has five straight 15-plus rebounds per game the last five games. So props to the WNBA promoting their stars, whether it's Kaitlyn Clark, angel Reese, you know some of the other people, angel Wilson, the all-star game's coming up, so I'm all into it, man. Women basketball you know the New York Liberty has fallen off big time, so they no longer have the best record in basketball. Star games coming up, so I'm all into it, man. Women basketball you know the link the new york liberty is falling off big time, so they no longer had the best record in basketball. So yeah, that's pretty much all I got. I love all that. I had to throw the wmba in there.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, there you go and I'll add on to that too. Uh, as well. Um, it's with the liberty. Um, just breaking them down for a couple seconds. So, our best defender she was over at Phoebus is her last name, she was over, and Liberty's my team, by the way, doc. So she was over in Germany playing a tournament really quick. So she came back for about a couple weeks. So she's back.

Speaker 1:

Jonquil Jones is another one that she's our. She was the finals MVP last year and she's been hurt. So we've had a lot of injuries that we've been dealing with. Personally, it's something that I'm ready for us to get back full strength. But Jonquil Jones came back earlier and she ended up hurting that same foot and now she's out for four to six weeks. So hopefully in about two weeks or so she should be back.

Speaker 1:

But yes, the Lynx are their team. They have all the weapons. They have, of course, nafisa Collier. She leads that team and they're loaded. They have a deep bench. They're healthy 17-2. You know they're going to be in the final. The Mercury are nothing to look over as well. The Liberty did drop down to number three seat at 12 and six. And then you go and you look down. Seattle Storm is a sneaky good team, led by Gabby Williams and Skylar Diggins and those girls, so that's a great team. The Valkyries, the new team, they're're getting there. They do have the great home court advantage there, but you keep, I mean they're at, they're in sixth place at nine and nine and nine, so that's that's great for them. The fever, of course caitlin clark's been out. Whenever she gets back she's going to um definitely help that team. But they did win the commissioner's cup, which doesn't go towards your record, but the commissioner Cup is just something that they do play on the side, which is where the NBA got the in-season tournament from was from the WNBA with the.

Speaker 1:

Commissioner Cup. So it's unfortunate that your record does not help it out, but yeah, so that's something else. And then, down at the bottom of the wingsike and um, uh, page beckers and all them, I think they're still a young team. Uh, it's a page, was the best player in the league last year and she goes to the worst team, so and they're still not doing great. But, uh, to your point, with the all-star, um, I think it's great.

Speaker 1:

I think the all-star draft is coming up soon, uh, but we do have, uh, all the players there, as you said, um, angie reese, asia wilson, all those, the, the the aces too, they're gonna be in trouble. They don't have any depth and they got jewel lloyd, one of the best players, but she is not showing that. Uh, and and don't get me wrong, she's's great. She does not have a defense and when you and Doc and Kelsey Plum, who's in LA right now, she is the one that they traded away and they miss her greatly, especially on the defensive end. So but, yeah, I'm definitely excited for the W. It's the all-star game I believe is coming up in a week or two in Indianapolis, I believe. So for sure, looking forward to that, but it's going to be a great one.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'll leave you with this, marlon. And this is a great WNBA talk. They need props, you know, because there's great basketball. But Camila Cardoso for the Chicago skies, overseas playing for a native Brazil team, is six, seven, and my daughter pointed that out. That's killing the sky. But she's making more money over there for Brazil, for her native country, during the season, and that's killing the sky. They don't have that big girl 6'7". So the WNBA, if nothing else, has to up the salaries to help this thing. That's kind of tacky. It's pretty much quit on your team, you know, going over there. I don't begrudge them making money, but when you have to leave the country and play for united, get more money than what you're making with and use a high draft pick, first round pick for chicago sky. So that's another topic for another day. Just, they got to protect the players from doing an in-season.

Speaker 1:

So because the sky misses her, yes, that that's the same thing that happened to somebody that's on Liberty. So sometimes they'll go, they'll leave and go play a certain tournament overseas. Now I think it's tough for them because, naturally, that's where they live, that's where they play all the tournaments and all that. But it is tough because we just got our girl back this week. Well, last week, yeah, she just came back. So, um, I do think that, uh, cardoza, she will be back, but it's, they go for these tournaments and it's it's unfortunate that it's in season, but you got all your friends, your family, you're playing for your country. It's hard for you not to not be there for that couple weeks and we definitely missed our girl.

Speaker 1:

And I know for sure this guy missed theirs because she's a big interior presence that makes a huge difference.

Speaker 2:

That's right. That's right, brother. Very good point.

Speaker 1:

Other than that, that's all I got, man With this. I don't know when the draft is. I'm sure it's going to be nationally televised and all that. But yeah, but other than that, other than any WNBA talk, doc, we have a preseason football game this month.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, and we're going to get ready for that too. I can't wait, brother. The rookie class you know I'm into my rookies, so I'm going to do my homework. I'll be ready for you, brother. Now let's throw some college football preseason into the mix in the coming weeks, man, because you know Arch Manning of Texas, you know they got the kid of Georgia going to stock and can't Ohio State repeat. So, radioland, brace, brace yourself, because it's coming. It's coming Me and Marlon.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, I'm ready, all right, so we will catch you guys next week. We also will, like I said, we'll have. We don't know what division we're going to do. Doc, do you want to pick a division now that you want to work with, or what do you want to do?

Speaker 2:

We'll start out with the AFC West. Okay, arguably the best division in football given, given the offseason moves. The AFC East is too easy. That's Buffalo and then you know, we will start off with the AFC West and AFC Take it from there.

Speaker 1:

All right, we will see. Okay, so other than that, we will catch you guys next week. Peace, peace.
