Welcome And Season Preview Plan

SPEAKER_00

And welcome, welcome, welcome everybody to another episode of Real Talk Doc. You doing all right today?

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I am, and we're blessed to have two gentlemen that know their stuff. Let's go do the intro.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. So as you know, we've been doing the uh this is the time of year. If you missed last week, please go back and check last week. Uh we had uh Eston Oakland and Tom in in uh Montana on uh doing an AFC West preview. So of course we talked a little podcast dodges and all that, but predominantly uh this is the time of year where we break down every single division. So from here on out, everything every single episode that we will do between now and when the season starts, we'll be breaking down a division. So we knocked out the AFC West, and now we are on the NFT East uh this week. So uh we got two guests they've been on before, one um huge Cowboys fan, and one is a huge Knicks fan. So John will start with you first. How you doing, man?

SPEAKER_03

Doing fantastic, man. Happy to be here.

SPEAKER_00

All right, all right, perfect. Glad to have you. And then uh he's he's still he's probably still on Cloud Nine. Uh his you know, Yankees are doing all right. His his his uh of course his Knicks won a championship, but he still has to think in the back of his mind. You still got those giants you gotta worry about. So uh Chef Yaku joins us again. What's up, man? How you doing?

SPEAKER_02

I'm awesome. I'm awesome to be here. Awesome to be a starter of the Harbaugh era. Let's go, G B.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know, we talked about we talked about the other horrorball last week. That's the only horrorball that matters at this point. So uh but yeah, so uh we were just yeah, of course, of course. Yeah, no, no, he's the he's the one that won on every level. Yeah, he he won he won on every level. Uh in the college has a little asterisk, I mean uh NFL has a little asterisk on it, but you know, he he'll he'll get that Super Bowl uh hopefully this year or next year. So that that's that's the goal. But um but yeah, so we're we're gonna break down the NFC East. Uh of course some big news about LeBron. Uh he's with Philly now, so we're gonna talk about that in a second. Uh, but in our pre-production, uh Doc and uh Chef, you guys were talking a little bit about the Yankees. So Doc, I don't know if you want to uh maybe ask Chef a question or uh any any MLB topics that you guys have, you guys can just go ahead and throw it out. Absolutely. Go for it.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely.

MLB Check In Yankees Braves Mets

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, uh baseball, you know, actually my first love, John and Chef Yaku. And uh my brains are holding on, even though we're having severe trouble with the Mets, so not even trying to win. They split with us in Atlanta three weeks ago, four games, and and they took a uh the first game of a double header today, and they beat us on Monday. So my problem is not the wrestlers' divisions, it's the Mets. And that's what's shocking. It's baseball. We're we're five and a half games up to Phillies. The Philadelphia Phillies have been tripping. They got shut out last night, 1-0, or was it the night before? So I'm okay. But Chef Yakuya Yankees, as bad as they've been, and Yankee fans have been pissed off, you're only two back. And this is without Judge, the best player in baseball. So you gotta feel good about that. And I've been critical of Aaron Boone myself. So what's your take going forward? Can Damper Bay sustain the success or the Yankees gonna overtake him despite Judge's absence? And uh, of course, I'm not sure how you feel about Volpe, but everybody hates him. But go ahead, Chef.

SPEAKER_02

You're Yankees, brother. Let's go. Well, I absolutely feel we got a chance to catch sample, but that all depends on uh a couple few things. I I'm hearing, and I mean, I don't really believe it in my heart because I know what Tampa is, but I'm hearing uh a trade to school, you know, for school balls. Uh it could be in the works for Tampa Bay. They got a farm system that could uh really give up some some some players that Detroit might want. So I think that'd be a big piece because Tampa Bay just knows how to win games. But I definitely feel like uh once we get healthy, uh Ballinger just went out, he's on the IR for about four or five weeks. So he's gonna be gone and then we got Judge going. But I mean, this gives a chance for a lot of those young guys, uh, the Martian, who, you know, he gets caught up and down and never really gets a chance to really play. So he's going to get a little bit of longevity. And so so far with Spencer Jones. I mean, the kid has came up 6'70, kid came up to show promise and power. And I believe that right now it's the time to have these guys playing just in case they become trade assets or trade teachers. So let's get these young guys in. I would rather it be just to get them showing and and not have injured players. But I think we're sitting in a very good place. Max Friegan's gonna get his putting back. Garrett Coles is looking awesome. Cam Sittler is looking great. Um, I guess we're getting rehabs uh from other pitches. So we're getting healthy at the right time. We all know this marathon known as baseball, is uh it's not about who comes out and makes it to the all-star break first, but it's about who finishes the season hot, and that's who puts it together and uh will eventually go to play uh the Dodgers in the World Series because we know how that's you're you already projecting there, man.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_01

And speaking of the case, can New York handle handle a Yankees and Knicks win in the same season? Can they handle the National Guard today? No. Yeah, I was just so I don't know, man. That that sounds like a lot.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. Yeah, yeah, the Giants. But but before I get to John and his ranges, Chef Yaku, yes, Chef Yaku it makes the different I mean it makes the question that is what the hell's going on with Stanton? I ain't even played all year. I used to like what's going on with Stanton, man.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's him and Malik neighbor's knee. They're all in the Hey guys, if y'all are listening to this, I will sacrifice my elbows and my knees, my 44-year-old elbows and knees for you guys to get on the field and play. So if y'all listen to take my knees and my elbows.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna do a Tommy Giants transplant. Are you gonna on the on the elbows?

SPEAKER_03

That's crazy, man. So, but good luck to you, Yankees. I know training camp has started, brother, and then uh you're still a high with the Knicks. Congratulations. Uh, but John, you're Rangers, baby. Talk

Rangers Race And DeGrom Hall Debate

SPEAKER_03

to me. How far can they go? How are they doing? What's your take? Go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's always the same in the AL West. It's just it's between the Rangers and the Astros and Mariners. That's that's just the that's the way it's gonna go. I mean, it's just it's been like that for the last few years. The Rangers have a lead right now, but it's a thin lead, and it's how they play in August and how they finish September. I don't know why it's always like that. Why they always they never blow out the lead and just completely dominate it. I mean, I know Sager's out, he's coming back with his back injury, and they're gonna get Montgomery back, a couple other guys, but it's just they're just never like the even the year they won the world in our world when they won the World Series, it just wasn't, it wasn't like a um they didn't just destroy everyone. It's like they just kind of crept in there and got hot at the right time, and we just have to wait and see, because that's really all they can do.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, this is big boy baseball, John, and you know, uh my braids are trying to hold off the Phillies, and we already talked about Chef Yaakou's Yankee. What's your take on um DeGrom, man, and how he's doing? Jacob DeGrom. Is he a Hall of Famer? Go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

I I don't believe he is a Hall of Famer, just for me personally. I think he's a great pitcher. I I'm strict on the Hall of Fame. I think that the Hall, there are too many guys that aren't in the Hall of Fame for their feet to give up the Hall of Fame as easily. And someone might toast me for that opinion. I I'll I'll take it. I just think that the calling a player that's active in the Hall of Fame, in the Hall of Fame, when there are guys that are finished, clearly at Hall of Fame careers that aren't in yet. Uh post-man, regardless of controversy, Barry Bonds. Barry Bonds before steroids and after steroids was still a Hall of Fame player. He should be in there. So I really call anyone a Hall of Fame player these days that are still active. Oh, that's a good response, man.

SPEAKER_03

I always liked DeGrom, and especially with the Mets with Syndicard, but you know, DeGrom had a couple of injury riddle seeds, and he's still dominant to a degree, but I believe he only has Chef Yaku and John and Marlon 140 wins. So yeah, he's not your Hall of Fame material because of the injury factor. Can he get to 200 wins? He's already up an eight, so I don't know. Not only you, Marlon. You know, uh, you're uh your Padres on a five-game winning streak.

Padres Wild Card Reality Check

SPEAKER_03

Your take, you're not going to win a division. But I like what you did today with Mason Miller saving that game. And uh your take on the Padres in the wild card, brother. Let's go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, and that and that's what we have to strive for now. And I think uh earlier in the season, it was looking great looking at the division. But once the Dodgers figure it out, once they flip on that switch and find out what's going wrong, I felt like it was just like last year. It took them a while to figure it out, and once they figured it out, they just ran with it. So again, just like this year, uh we had a hot start. Um, and and this time last year, when we were talking about the Padres, we were it was bad. I think we were below 500, if I'm not mistaken. But now uh one went one five straight, so we're looking good, but um right behind the diamondbacks. But yeah, it's it's uh it's almost like, and and I mean I know that and I I'm not really trying to take shots because I'm in the same boat as this, but when you think of the Falcons and the Giants and the Cowboys, when they make the playoffs, you know not to, and the Chargers for that matter too, when they make the playoffs, you know not to expect anything good because of what they've shown you in in recent years. So it's almost like, yeah, well, we'll make the wild card, but I'm not expecting anything out of it. So that that's that's that's what it says on that. It it's you know, it is what it is. Three years ago, I think it was three years ago when we um uh three, four years ago and beat the Dodgers. That was the year for us to do it. But now um, I mean, I'm I'm not having high hopes or anything. Five-game women's stick is great. Uh let's see what we can do with that. But but what, 12 games back? Not gonna definitely get the division, but as far as the uh the wild card, that's that's uh that's my only hopes, but not expecting nothing at all in the playoffs.

SPEAKER_03

Beautiful city, beautiful park, Techco Park, beautiful city. But good luck, brother. You know, Machado and uh Tatiste need to step up big time, you know. So yeah, I love this baseball dialogue, but there's more important things out there like what transpired in NBA.

LeBron Chooses Philly What Changes

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. So uh LeBron finally made his decision. He probably knew the second he uh maybe free agency hit or whatever the case is, he knew. So he is with Philly. Um, I uh me personally, before I get to everybody else, it's I I I thought he was probably gonna do the calves and maybe have a uh end of the uh the book, end of the story, chapter ending, whatever the case is, going back home and ending his career. Um, or I thought Miami was okay, but I don't know that I would feel comfortable with you losing your best player. He got shipped out, and then from there you you have Giannis. So it's not bad, but you got Giannis and you got Bam. Those are your two best players. So that seems like it was a lot of gonna a lot will be put on his back. So he picks Philly, which of course you just got a Jalen Brown, Joel and B. If he can stay healthy, Max needs some young weapons too as well, um, that just got drafted. So in my opinion, I definitely think that it was a it's smart, it makes sense. It's gonna be a lot of pressure on him because Philly is Philly, as you guys know firsthand how Philly is. But uh, but yeah, Doc, I'll go ahead and start with you on this one. What were your thoughts on uh LeBron's decision and how does this fit with uh him in the 76ers with the East?

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, I got the I got the 76ers balling the Knicks for the East. That that goes without saying, and it might even take the East. You know, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Chef Yaku, but it's one of those things where when you have cat, uh, I mean, uh Maxie and then you got Jalen Brown and uh you got those other cats, Ubre. I think they're gonna run, man. LeBron made the right decision, man. Cleveland wasn't it, and Miami wasn't his morning reference. This is something here where even in Vegas, they'll pick the win the East as favorites. The question that comes in mind is uh losing Mitchell Robertson, Chef Yaku, will that hurt the Knicks and hurt their edge, and you're totally dependent on Big Cat to do the business versus uh I know Embiid is I think MB's gonna stay healthy, by the way, for at least 65 to 70 games, but that's just me with this move. But your take, I I think I think we're gonna come out the east. Come on, Chef Yaku. Battle Doc. Battle Doctor Falcon, shoot me down. Tell me why. Go. East.

SPEAKER_02

Let me tell let me tell you, I'm not worried about freaks in Miami. I'm not worried about teams in Philly, because it's next and five, and that's the energy I'm going into. All these moves that's going in on that's going on in the east. I mean, it's pure pandemonium. The Knicks win it all, and everybody just goes crazy. And that's cool. So, what this is gonna do is it's gonna put a lot of pressure on the 76ers, it's gonna put a lot of pressure on Miami, lost in a lot of pressure because they let their number two or their one ain't got to go. And what this allows is this allows a team whose core is still intact, who actually I feel like got a little better, and I'll get into that a little later. But I feel like the core being intact, you got a championship team that's able to fly under the radar. And I know that sounds like an octimoron, but with all these other moves, everybody's looking in Miami and Philadelphia, both everybody's looking there. And what what what the Knicks are gonna be able to do is they're gonna be able to ride smooth and coach, and before we know it, it's gonna be in the Eastern Conference Finals, and they're gonna be taking down a 76 that won't have MB because uh uh he won't be there, he'll be hurt. And and who knows about anybody else, but I can guarantee you a B will not be there for a long playoff time. History says that, and I put money on that invading. Um and and I I I just feel like that's that's what's gonna happen. And I'm I I feel like we're gonna get a repeat of last year's. I don't want to get that far. Let me stop, let me stop, let me stop. We act about the key. But I I I'm I I definitely see that those teams are gonna make the noise and things like that, but it don't move the needle to me. And maybe this championship uh age that I'm on is is is not letting me look in my rearview mirror at the moment, but as of right now, nothing's really moved the needle because it's a whole lot of what is in on paper. And my mom always taught me, you gotta play the game.

SPEAKER_03

That's right. And Chef Yaku, you played the game. John, I want you to weigh in, but I gotta ask Chef Yaku this. What kind of offense is they gonna run? Is it gonna bring the ball up in seven and sixes? Do you care that your champions are they gonna be a running gun team? You mentioned in B. Then B messed. Can they can they move in B if he messes up that arm? I gotta I see them running the gun. They want to run. And LeBron has a little lane who has 25 minutes. Your take on that?

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely. I think they definitely want to get up and down that quarter. And B is gonna definitely slow that down and kind of lag that. So who knows? Maybe they they they do look to ship him off, move him to get some picks. Because that young that DJ Edge, that dude now. Oh record, that dude is scary. That dude is just he jumping Jackson's shoes. The bull match, and he's a he's a spark plug. And they want to get out and run, and actually one of the fastest players in the league. And you know, Brown can get up and down the court just like anybody. I mean, he's gonna he he runs like a young LeBron did. And I know like you said, LeBron wants to win and want to run. So I think that's definitely the stop if they're gonna go.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I agree. I agree. Go ahead, John. Bring it.

SPEAKER_01

I just have I have a few complaints about LeBron on this one. I don't mean to say you're a LeBron hater. I don't need to be a LeBron hater, but I am. Um one, if you're gonna take an eight million play for a single season for eight million dollars, you could have taken that pay cut in LA and built the same team where you already were, but you decided to take two max contracts back to back and overstaff your team. I'm glad you're now trying to go and do this, but I don't think if he realizes, like, let's say in a hypothetical world, the 76ers go and they win the title. This does nothing for his legacy. It actually smears his legacy more. He's joining another team with he's joining another team with a guy who's already won a title, just like he did with Dwayne Wade, to go there and then try and be build a new team. I get it. But even the team he's playing on, yes, Embiid can't win a title without him. But now he has did Jalen Brown winning the title, or did LeBron win the title? You see what I mean? This is not gonna do that. Well, what you said is is dead on, man. With there, the Knicks are gonna sleep sleep on slip up slip underneath a lot of these teams because everybody's looking at it. This team now has pressure on him that didn't exist because LeBron's on that team. With Jalen Brown there, they're a team that, okay, they might be a contender. We might show up. With LeBron there, they're expected to win. And that's a different, that's a that team isn't experienced enough to carry that kind of weight around. Maxie, he's a good point guard, but he makes a lot of mental error sometimes in the game. He really does. I mean, we we can yes, he runs and he does a good run and gun game. But when LeBron's legs get tired, he's not the same player. When Embiid's tired, he's not the same player, and they can't run the floor like that. So you might get a lead, but you're not gonna you're not gonna deal with a team like the Spurs last year and try and run it run on them like that. They that won't work. So do you settle in a half-court offense? Does LeBron make them stagnant? Do they do they switch it up, mix it up? Is LeBron initiating the offense at the point? Like what happened, what does this look like? Because the thing about basketball, and the great thing about it, is there's only one ball. And no matter how talented everybody is on that court, one guy can test the ball at a time. And if one guy is now the focus of your offense, problem. LeBron's a great facilitator, high basketball IQ. He does all that, he makes his teammates better. But at what point do you realize that yes, he is older and playing a full season and getting that all out of him, or playing an extended playoff series? He hasn't done that since what, 2020? When he did that, I mean they had a rest for three months before that. So if you go all the way back, he literally hasn't played a full playoff series to go all the way to the final since what 2018? We're talking almost 10 years now. I mean, that's what you really have to be realistic when you're looking at LeBron. This is not a good left. I really think it was a bad move, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_03

Well, that's fair. That's fair, John. But I think, gentlemen, Marlon, Chef Yaku, and John, I I I think we all agree that the East is considerably better than last year. Well, Giannis going to uh Miami, Atlanta making moves. Nobody's talking about the Detroit Pistons. They ended up keeping their big guy. I thought he was uh uh Durr Durant or whatever his name is. But the East as a whole, I want to see Philly at Boston, I want to see Philly at Cleveland, I want to see Philly out in New York on Christmas or opening day. So the interest in the East is twofold. Everybody knows the West is loaded, you know? Right. I I I I just think that the East right now, today, Chef Yachtro, you being a Knicks fan, you you you're gonna grab your popcorn and just watch what transpires in Philadelphia. You go ahead, you yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and and when you look at um to Doc's point, I mean, Celtics, and I I actually said this too on this podcast, I believe about a month or so ago, that I thought that the East was going to get better to the point to where they're gonna be better than the West. Uh that's that's still my opinion. George Young, Boston now you have uh Brown is out, you have PG-13. I think, like what Doc said with uh Embiid, Paul George is gonna play probably the most games he's ever played since he's probably been a painter. So I think he has something he has to prove. Uh the next they're around, they're relevant. Cleveland's still gonna be there. I think there's still one piece away. I know they were trying to figure out if they can maybe mix in some trades with James Harden to ship him out of there to get some players. Um Toronto, uh, I don't know what the situation is with Kawhi and uh with the investigation and all that stuff, but Toronto's still gonna be irrelevant. Your Atlanta Hawks, Doc, they're gonna be there. Sixers. The Facers are coming back. Yeah, yeah. And that's because he's got a for it. Washington. Washington is gonna be a team that everybody they finished with 17 wins last year, but now they've got Trey Young, Anthony Davis, who basically sat off uh a good chunk of the last year too, as well. So I I think they're gonna be looking for it. So it's there's gonna be a lot of teams in the in the the the the east is gonna look completely different than it did last year. Um, but yeah, so it's definitely cool. I I would say it's

LeBron Legacy Arguments And Top 10

SPEAKER_00

in my opinion, you guys needed to win when you guys won because coming up next year and the year after, I don't know if you guys are gonna have a path where you see Boston losing in the first round or uh whatever the case is. So, or and and not all of the teams at their full strength. So I'm glad you guys got the win. But I I I don't know. I the going forward, we'll see what it looks like.

SPEAKER_01

I have a question though. Does anyone think that does anyone think that um Tatum can carry Boston by himself? I I don't know. I've never seen that out of him, and I I think Boston made a gamble. In my opinion, this is again this is a bad gamble to me. I don't think Tatum is a great duo guy. I think if you put him with a guy like Jalen Brown, He's great, but night in, night out, I don't know if he can be that guy. He's just he's not a really consistent player. Some nights he looks like he's the best player in the league, and other nights it looks like okay, he should be coming off first. And I don't know which one he's which one he's gonna get.

SPEAKER_00

I'll start with this one if Steph got cool. I want you to go after. So me me personally, I think he can uh lead a team. I think that um but but also too we have to realize Paul George is not the Paul George he is he was in with any uh we know that five. Also too if he does have flash, so then he can still come and take over and beat that robin if he needs to. However, flash doesn't want to come back to the comic onto early probably you know because of what's gonna hurt off their chance going forward. But I do think that he can take over. I do think that he can be that guy that they want him to be. Um but I mean you have you have Paul George now is definitely nowhere near what Jalen Brown is, but I I think you do have flashes of of him being that person that they need him to be to take over the franchise. But uh yeah, we'll see. Go ahead, Chef.

SPEAKER_01

I think Paul Jordan would be better on the Spurs, by the way, because that's what they needed in the playoffs, just a veteran guy to kind of fill that name but not be the reliability on defense. But uh, that's a good point.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's a good point. Go ahead, Chef.

SPEAKER_02

I I I just don't trust Boston's point guard situation. They're putting a lot of pressure on Pritchard. I I I don't I don't trust that he's a starting point guard in that division, and and let alone the whole east, that that boy's going to get torn up. So I think that's that's one of the biggest issues, and then I think that's the domino fact that's gonna really curse Boston this year.

SPEAKER_03

Well, that's a good point, Chef. And Marlon and John, you realize that they rely on threes, and when the threes are not dropping, you know, they they they get bounced, and that's what happens. And and Tatum has the talent, Chef Yaakou, to lead the league in scoring. But as John referenced, can Tatum do that coming off a uh uh you know a career-threatening injury, you know, right out the gate? He he fills them in the playoffs. But I think that coaching staff, gentlemen, needs to change that that three-point shot, all or nothing type of thing, and and and change that offense, you know, because when they're not falling, you saw what happened in the postseason. Uh so yeah, there you go. And chef, this is your division.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, shock selection can make or break a team in the playoffs. And sometimes it's just like I was always a big DeMar DeRozan fan. I always liked this game. It's really simple, really quiet and mid-range. But if you're gonna have a team that shoots a lot of threes, if you notice when like the the the Golden State Warriors did that all the time, they always have one guy in the paint that just gets them those extra couple buckets. And they don't have and when when they can rebound and get him that, if you don't have a system where you build that into your your your nucleus of your team, you can shoot, you can shoot yourself to death and you'll get blown out a lot. And when you're playing teams like like Skilly now, those are those are fast break opportunities on every one of those three is on a rebound, and you gotta play different. And then if you don't have to give a big man the paint like a B, it's gonna be a bigger problem when you play guys like Jokic and Wimbanyamba. Those are problems now because they're controlling the paint. So if you start shooting bad, they're gonna win that game. And you you're out of that game in the first second quarter.

SPEAKER_03

And that's a good point. And and and and to Chef Yaku's point and John's point, you're you you're the champ until you beat the champ. So you're still riding on, my friend. We can differ uh respectfully, but we'll see, man. We'll see. I'm I'm still a Jordan guy, and to John's point, maybe he thinks his legacy is gonna be hurt. I beg to differ. If he if he takes a team that hasn't won in 43 years or whatever the case may be, John, I think LeBron's uh he climbs that echelon uh just a tad, but not much, but uh to push them over the top, assuming they win it all. But right now it's Chef Yaku's world. You know, so yeah, I love this dialogue. I could talk basketball out. I love it. Go ahead, Marlon.

SPEAKER_01

I think even if he's even if he's in the 76ers, he still would he wouldn't even pass Dr. J, but I'll leave that alone. I'm I'm not gonna go down that road. I'll I'll go I'm gonna sound like I'm wrong here. He just there's a way you win a title and there's a way you go there. And taking a cheap deal to join a team that's stacked, again, it just kind of to me it feels cheap. It doesn't feel like you committed anything. It feels like you joined on to a team. He picked the team he wanted to go to. He didn't get drafted, he didn't get traded there. This is just he picked the team that had the best odds so he could do it, and it has young guys so he can play with them. I get that. And yes, they haven't won. But I mean, if you took that same not, that would be like took Kobe Bryant leaving LA in 2011 and going and joining Durston in Dallas. It sounds great, but I mean, but what did you really do? You just picked the team that you wanted to win with. And and that's kind of that's what I think that's kind of what he his image is, is that he kind of picks his teams. He doesn't build teams into greatness, he just picks them. And he had talent in LA. He had plenty, he couldn't do it. So now he's just going to another team of talent that would try and win another way. And it's just, I don't know, I don't think it's a good look.

SPEAKER_03

Well, John, that's your you're that's a good entitled opinion. That's old school, and I'm old school, as well as Jeff Yaqu. But this is the new NBA, gentlemen. This is the new NBA, and and guys don't stay their old careers. You see guys, you see movement everywhere. Minnesota picked up their guy, the Timberwolves, and I love Edwards out here in the West. But for the record, before we moved to the NFL, the Lakers were tired of LeBron. They were ready to move on. 52 million a year. They were ready. This is still a Kobe town. They didn't embrace LeBron as one of their own. I can tell you that factually out here in Los Angeles. But uh go ahead, Marlon. I love this NBA. Go ahead, Marlon. Let's go.

SPEAKER_00

And then I'll I'll uh John, I'm I'm gonna ask this, and I'm hoping we don't go down a rabbit hole with this, but just a real quick answer, John. Real quick. Does LeBron as of now, does LeBron make your top ten players of all time? Absolutely. Okay, okay. All right. I'm just I'm just checking. I know, I know, I know you won't don't deny the the the greatness that he is, but you know, you you now now where where would he fall roughly in that top ten?

SPEAKER_01

Eight or nine.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

I have him at I have him at I have him at two. But that's it, we could do we can have a beer over there. We can have a beer on that. I know you got big cap, you got Wilt, Jordan, Russell. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'll just put I'll just put it this in a in a in a simple in a simple in a simple answer. If I put him in Lakers, in the Lakers, he wouldn't be in the top five Lakers all the time. Right.

SPEAKER_03

That's fair.

SPEAKER_01

And so because of that, if he's not in the top five Lakers, how can I put him above any of those guys? I can't put him in front of Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Kobe, or Shaq. So I can't put him in front of those guys. So how can I put so how can I so how can I put him in the above that in the top? That's that's why that's why he's in the top ten, but not in the top five.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, go ahead, Chef. We're in on a chef, y'all cool. We're in on this. Your take, LeBron. Go.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I I definitely have LeBron um somewhere around that five, six, five. My whole thing with LeBron is just never having that killer, that that killer instinct that you expect from those type of players. And I think that from Kobe is just, I mean, it was just that that was that was that. And I think that had a lot to LeBron was always the most biggest, dominant, physical, dominant player. And he never ever had to dig deep and be like, you know what? I gotta just outdog somebody. Because he was always out amongst hyena. You know what I'm saying? So he never had to be that dog and reached down. And and that's one of the things with me that kind of hinders him out of that situation is because he was times and moments where he could have defined his legacy a little bit better. But because he didn't have that dog in him and and and didn't and didn't produce that dog at that time, I can't put him, you know what I'm saying, in that in that top five. I respect his title, I respect what he's done for the game, the the longevity hat thought. I'm not even against the whole nephew thing. Well, bring your son in. Shoot, I want to put my kids to the top 25. I'll make my son a top five. No, if I can. Right. So I don't care. I don't even care about that. It's just there's some things the player and me just don't agree with LeBron.

SPEAKER_03

I agree. That's fair, gentlemen. But let's let's not get it twisted. LeBron, when he was with Cleveland the first time, scored 26 points in Boston in game seven to eliminate Pierce and them in the postseason. And he beat the best team record-wise in Golden State on the road down 3-1 and made some critical plays for that Cleveland championship. So I don't want to just, you know, uh brush aside. I'm not even a LeBron guy. But those two things right there, beating a 73-9 team in Golden State on the road when uh your boy Kyrie Urban made the shot, but they were down 3-1 and one. But the Boston thing in the fourth quarter, Chef Yaaku, and you play ball. When they when he scored 26 straight points, it might even have been 30 in game seven and destroyed Garnett and Pearson on the road in game seven. That that to me, right there, speaks for him. So to John's point, yeah, he's top ten. I got him at three, but that's neither here nor there. Go ahead, thought.

SPEAKER_01

I'll I'll just I'll just say this again. What one of my my my my my late father used to always say, when you watch LeBron play, you can tell he didn't play a lot of street ball because he plays with a team. Everything is a pass, movement, calling for a pick. When you watch how Kobe, MJ play, they played one-on-one. They can play a one-on-one game. That's not LeBron's game. It's not a knock on him, it's just not his style. It's just not how he plays. When I watched him play, and I also I remember watching him against Dallas in a game six, he only scored eight points. I watched him in games where he where he it's not that he wasn't great. It's that to call him the greatest, I have to have moments where it's like, well, when did he let me down? When did he do this? He had other games where he kind of disappeared or he seemed to give up. Not a knock on him. The guy's a great man. The guy is a great father. He's a great role model for him. Man, I I'm not saying all that. I'm just saying, as a player, to call him the greatest player ever or put him above a lot of other guys that played through with greater moments of heart, I I I don't I don't see that from him. That's the only reason why that's that's my list.

SPEAKER_02

My best run is, and I will always the the thing I'll always go back to is what when was it LeBron's error? Because Jeff Curry has won and other players have won when it's supposed to be his heir. When it was Michael Jordan's heir, Michael Jordan won. So now, so so like if you take errors and you take Jeff Curry's error and you put it up against what LeBron James's error was. If you if you just break it down as error at that time when they had it, what they done to the NBA. That's fair. That's sure. I don't think he allowed.

SPEAKER_01

I mean co Covey, Tim Duncan, Dirk all won during his era. Yeah. And especially in the early yeah, yeah. And Dirk went in his house and took that from him. I mean, he just showed him.

SPEAKER_03

He sure did.

SPEAKER_02

So so what is your error?

SPEAKER_00

Doc, Doc, last comment, last comment on this one, and then we'll go to NFL. Go ahead. Rap wrap the wrap uh uh wrap up the comments.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I I think uh the the fact that he did make 10 straight NBA Finals fellas, the minutes and all that speaks volumes. But uh it goes noted. Yeah, when you talk about LeBron James, there's so different, there's so many different narratives that you can take, as John referenced, the killer instinct with Jordan had or Kobe had or uh or Magic or Bird. Don't forget about Bird, man. Bird killed each. I'm old enough to remember, but it it goes noted, man. So yeah, I'll end it with that. The guy has put up some numbers and did participate in 10 straight NBA finals, which is otherworldly, by the way. I think I think Russell's the only other one that did Bill Russell, but that's in the 60s. But yeah, it goes roaded, man. That's all I got on that. This is great stuff. Of course.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. I know, and we can go on and on and on about this. That's when I asked that question to you, John. I was like, I know. I'm about to go down a rabbit hole when we should really go to the NFL. I didn't I didn't just ask the question, but it's

NFC East Legends Draft Across Rivals

SPEAKER_00

okay. All right, so now we're I'm and we're gonna switch over to the NFL first. I'm going to do a uh stuff a little bit different. You guys know I normally like to ask different questions and things like that. And I'm going to do something. I'm going to add cowboys eagles. I will start with this one. Uh I know this is it's it's gonna it's it's gonna first end because of course. You don't want to first talk about it. Exactly, exactly. You don't want to talk good. Fast or two, fast or two, you know, this may have been in the five, ten, fifteen, twenty years ago. Well, you've seen a certain player, just court-year franchise, and it now you're over it and you can just say, okay, I really love this person. So, Jeff, top three players, um try to try to be quick because we still gotta go through the division. Absolutely. Uh so yeah, top three players of each team. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_02

My list was extremely easy because when I was growing up, I really was a fan of players. So my number for one from the Redskins, I got Daryl Green. I remember watching Daryl Green compete in those athletes. Remember when they sat athletes compete each other like the fact? That's right. I just watched him torch people, and I was like, oh my God. Number two, I gotta go to Minister of Defense. Come on now. You don't gotta be an Eagles fan. You don't got you you don't gotta be whatever you gotta be to be a Reggie White, you gotta go with Reggie. That's everybody fan. And then my last Dallas Cowboy, Larry Allen, because Larry Allen scared down rhinoceros. That man was the epitome of an athlete. And when people talk about athletes, they often over the don't mention him. And when you want to see a dude that looks like a train, moves like a freight train, and can lift a freight train, go look up Larry Allen's face.

SPEAKER_03

That's right. Go ahead, John. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um I just naming one from each team, correct?

SPEAKER_00

So I I so so so John, I didn't John is having that threat. Well, no, no, no. Well, let's see, and and and Chef, we can circle back to you, but uh, and and that's probably my delivery. I mean three from each uh team. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But but but we but we could circle back to you if you if you have anybody.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I I I'll do the um I'll do the the names as we they were called in my household. We did not call them the Redskins, we called them the Foreskins. Uh so we called the Giants, the Giants were the midgets, and the Eagles were the pigeons. That was what we're gonna do. Oh my god. So um for the for the Redskins, I'm gonna give, of course, Daryl Green, as much as I I don't even like really saying his name, what to say that Daryl Green and uh John Reggins, and I'm gonna throw one out there that's a little bit of a curveball because their franchise really hasn't been worth anything for a couple decades now. And uh, you know, but Sean Taylor, I'm gonna talk about that. He was just a million player. I really hated I really hated turning on the TV and watching the Cowboys play against him. This is really just my my my my me growing up who I hated watching. I didn't watch John Reagan, I watched him later. But the man is just the immense, tough, just giant running back. It was just it it it you have to respect it. Um going into you know the other team uh the in Philadelphia, um, we don't really like uh, you know, uh like you said, Reggie White, great player. Um and uh Dawkins is always gonna be, I cannot stand him in safety. He just he just ruined my Sunday so many times, I just can't stand him. I I I just I just I he just he just did. And the the last one I'm gonna really throw out there, he did play for Dallas, but Terrell Owens, um, the year please he was with he just abused the Cowboys in such a way that it made me hate him until like if he didn't play for the Cowboys, I wouldn't like him. That's how much he that's how much he annoyed me. Um we're gonna go to the to the uh the midgets of their uh their cool cat, but go ahead, Josh. I gotta go I gotta go with LT. Um LT was just, you know, he was probably the one of the greatest defensive players ever. Followed by the gap himself, Michael Strahan. And um the least like Manning, Eli. I just he he just he ruined entire careers with a Dallas California decade. I mean he just he just really did. Um I mean he really, if you realize that guy threw 24 interceptions the next year won the Super Bowl. I mean, I just he just he annoyed me. But he was he he was a in the playoffs, something clicked on inside of him. He very similar to like Terry Bradshaw. It doesn't make any sense how you look at his regular season stats and then watch him in a playoff game, the guy just shows up every game, no games off in the playoffs, and he just that was how he played. And that was the most annoying thing to deal with him.

SPEAKER_03

Go ahead, Chef Ya cool. I like that list. Go ahead. The other two teams. Three or whatever it is.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah. So so with the Redskins, um, Bill Green, Doug Williams. I mean Doug Williams. Yes, sir. Yeah, I gotta respect. You know what I'm saying? I think Bill Green. And um I couldn't even think of a number three guy. Those are really the only two Washington Redskins that I've ever liked in my life and said that uh those are cool. I don't like none of the old dudes, none of the young dudes, none of the new dudes. So I'm not even gonna go there. Uh Dallas, um, my list for Dallas is just because of what they were I mean, what they meant to us and what they meant to me. Um, like I said, I like Larry Allen. Uh Nate Newton was another big dude. I I was a big kid growing up. You know what I'm saying? I sound like a rock, look like a milk does for Nate Newton. Used to get a lot of Nate Newton and Charles Haley. But that was because he used to be a 49er and always respected that guy and you know what he did and just won Super Bowls after Super Bowl after Super Bowl with different teams. Um going to the Eagles. Um already said uh Reggie White, Rainbow Cunningham, and um um, oh my god, um the the cornerback, I can't re I can't his name. Eric Allen? Sanders Allen? Cornerback Allen. Eric Allen. Yeah, Eric Allen, yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's right. Very clear. I need to be very clear. I don't like any of these players. You just ask players that like I could name. I don't like any of these dudes. None of these, no, no, I don't like any of them. Let me just make it clear that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, let me weigh in on this, man. This is easy. For Dallas, man, I'm a lot older. I'm gonna go with Tony Dorset and Roger Starback, and then uh you gotta put you gotta put Randy White in there. Okay, that's three for Dallas. For the Giants, Chef Yakuz Giants, of course, Lawrence Taylor, uh, you know, um, and then you had uh Phil Sims, and I like Harris Harry Carson. You gotta get Phil Sims as due, man. He won under enormous service, and then Harry Carson. Uh for the Eagles, I think Chef Yarku hit on it. Randall Cunningham, Bryant, and then uh uh Reggie White. And then for the Redskins, John eloquently put John Riggins in there. Uh, Doug Williams, I'm gonna put Art Mark in there. So there's there's there's mine right there for the all. Did I did I get those off of the room?

SPEAKER_00

You got them? Okay, yeah. You got them. Yeah, yeah, I love it. I love it.

NFC East Predictions Team By Team

SPEAKER_00

Okay, all right. So now on the uh the NFC East predictions on this one. So what we have right now, uh as it stands, the Eagles, they have a win total of 10.5. The Cowboys are nine and a half with uh Jerry Jones' Super Bowl uh aspirations with trade talks and all that stuff. Um, and then the commanders and the New York football giants at seven and a half. So um, Doc, you are a neutral party in this one. So uh go go ahead and go through the teams. What do you think of the the division as a whole? Uh what are your thoughts on the NFT?

SPEAKER_03

I I I think uh the division as a whole, fellas, is is is A plus. And I think That because the NFL draft, everybody picked up huge players. You know, the Giants picked up Arbe El Reese, Dallas picked up Caleb Downs, the Eagles picked up Makai Lemon, and then uh the Redskins picked up Sonny Styles. These are immediate impact players for their respective teams. And I'm a draft geek, Chef Yaakou and John, and I love what they all did in the draft. The division gets an A-plus for me. These rookie class. Now I've got the Eagles. I'm not, I mean, not the Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys winging the division, because not only did they Quentin Williams, but he's a full year down there. They picked up Caleb Downs and they picked up some other defenders. And I think that offense on the deck. It's time for that, John. And I think that Dallas Cowboys with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickett's inside that tender. Trust me, Pickett's from Georgia is going to be a superstar, if not already. The only question I have is injuries to the quarterback. So Dallas are going to win the division. The Eagles coming in second because I like when they redid Jalen Carter's contract, and about a few weeks earlier, they did the big monster in the middle, Jordan Davis contract. But Jalen Hurts lost a tremendous player in AJ Brown. And I don't say what you want about him. AJ Brown made plays for Jalen Hurts. And I think the rookie Makai Lemon is not going to just step in and make everything okay. Now Saquon Barker's going to have a huge year, 14, 15, 100 yards, but I think the Eagles come in second. Third place, uh I gotta put the uh Giants in there at third, Chef Yaquo, because I think the fact that Jackson Dark is gonna be playing for Harbaugh, I think that's a huge thing right there. You know, and I think Harbaugh's not gonna play that bullshit. Now I don't like Cam Scatterboo doing the backflips and the fan fanatics or whatever it was. But I think it's gonna have a huge year because you got the big fullback, Ricard, the block from Scatterboard. And I think your defense, as I've referenced, is Ariel Reese, Chef Yaku, is gonna be up for the rookie of the year, I think. You know, and I love, I love, I love Thibodeau, the edge rush, and I love uh Burns for you guys from Carolina two years ago. So I got the Giants third and fourth, the Redskins, the commanders or whatever. I got him, I just don't trust the quarter. He's too thin in the ass, John and Chef Yaquin that division. He he came in and put the world on fire, but teams do film work on their asses. I love Sonny Styles. Sonny Styles, I watched Ohio State. He's gonna have a tremendous impact for that team, but I think the quarterback situation, they lost Brian Robinson to back up to B. John Robinson, Atlanta, that's just too much. And uh so I I'm going there for my top of uh in the in the order that I said, you know. So yeah, go ahead. Check out to your uh or John, it don't matter. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_02

I I'll take this, John. I'll I'll I'll let me take this real quick. I'm not, I'm not, I'm gonna be too long. But um, I think uh it even pays me to say this, but watching what Dallas did on defense and um keeping that corner pack, uh franchise titling quarterback, I mean one of the wide receivers uh picking. Um they're they're gonna be they're they're I I feel like they're gonna take that division. I don't think the AJ Brown situation is gonna bother and filming too much stuff. They kick the wick from the Packers and then right, they got limits. All those dudes gotta do is quick catches. They don't have to both, they just gotta combine and make up for that off-production of AJ Brown. And I think by man season, you'll start seeing that. You know, by when when men feezing, I think you'll be a rookie receiver, the sophomore receiver. So that's you know, I I feel like by that time, him and Wick and Wix can be a damn good receiver. I think they'll both be able to offset what is lost, and you know, uh Smith will be able to make up from that thing. Kwan's gonna have a QG again next year. So Philadelphia coming in second. Um, I I feel like uh the Giants definitely third place. My biggest thing with the Giants is the neighbor's injury. I keep hearing it get worse than worse. Oh, wow. I heard walk around. I saw the video from the the little far game where he was limping on it. He doesn't look good. He doesn't look for a wide receiver. So I'm gonna be honest about that. They already said that uh it might not be for week three or week four. And then you coming back week three, week four, you're not ready for week six, week seven. Let's be real. So that that's the thing that got me there. Like you said, uh the commanders rounding out of four. Everybody had an awful draft, everybody really picked up what they wanted. I I wanted Caleb Down. Um, I wanted to drive back and kind of hurt it because he worked in the division. So I get to feed a card and I want to drive past my house twice today. You know what I'm saying? So it is what it is. But I think that's how I feel the division is gonna wrap up. I think we're gonna have some weird pairs where uh you're gonna see some wins and some places like the Giants might beat Dallas at home, and then we might get smoked at Matt Light. Like it's gonna be some weird games in that division.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right. Division. Good point on that.

SPEAKER_01

I think another thing what what I was I'll say this, and I'm not I'm gonna try and be as impartial and as much of a fan as I am, Cowboys. I have to assess it when I look at every team. At the end of last season, what did you have? At the end of at the and what did you add to your team to improve? What did you lose? I don't think the commanders did near enough to to replace what they lost. And I thought they reached a little bit in free agency. They signed a lot of edge rushers and they're trying to figure out an identity on defense. They have a decent secondary, but it doesn't always come together. It's very young. Um I I think that they're they're probably the team that looks like they're struggling the most in the NFC. So I'll put them at the bottom. The Giants, it's not that they're bad, it's that they're they're young, and I think the majority of their talent is all at one position. Because you also have a Bill Carter, you have Thibodeau, you now have you now have Arvell Reese, you have Brian Burns. Well now you have five, you have five guys who are gonna be in your high highest paid p players, all playing in the same position. You got rid of uh you got rid of Dexter Lawrence, so how are you gonna be able to stop the run as well? There are questions they have on defense. Where you have a young offense on the other side, if your defense can control the ball, which is normally what Harbaugh does, they're they didn't really replace Dexter Lawrence, which I thought was really odd. But you would get rid of a guy who I'm telling you as a Cowboys fan, he annoyed me. He really does. He he messes up plays all the time. And they didn't replace him. Um the Eagles, yes, they can split production, but the Eagles are not a team what that can replace AJ Brown, that they throw the ball 30, 40 times a game. That's not their game. Their game is mostly play action and getting beat. And AJ Brown just kind of made these plays where he would just break and he ran his route, so Chris, he's kind of he's a bigger guy, he would just catch the ball in traffic. Now, yes, Smith is still a great receiver. Devontae Smith will still give you problems. I just don't know if they have enough threat to push the box off of Saquon. And when that doesn't happen, what does that change in your play calling? Because now you have to open up and pass, which is what people want to force Jalen Hurts to do, where they're not playing a short game. So, how does that work out? Does that mean that they start slow? Do they start fast? I don't know if Philly gets off to the start people expect them to start. So I actually put the Giants above Philly. Just my just my opinion. I think if Dallas won Giants two, and then the uh Philly at three. And that's just my opinion. But also look out for Trey Sean Holden and Jaden Blue for Dallas.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. You guys are playing.

SPEAKER_01

You guys are playing fantasy. I mean, Jaden Blue broke two touchdowns today in the in the practice of the first team defense, one for 65 yards, one for 45. And I mean, we're just talking screen passes and jets sleep around the cross. He's he's just doing it. Um he he's not a big dude, but he's fast and he can fly. And if you're playing back on that defense and playing playing up on CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, they have a running game and they have Javante Williams, and they don't they can change the pace up. And they look good. And actually the passing game looked like the weakest part of their game today playing against the Cowboys defense. So we'll see how that works. But my team, my, my, my real pick is Cowboys one, Giants two, Eagles three, commanders four. That's how the division finishes.

Win Totals And Schedule Logic

SPEAKER_03

Win total, fellas. I'll start. I got the Cowboys winning 12 games, 12 and 5. I got the Eagles going uh 10 and 7. I got the Giants going 9 and 8, and I got the commanders going 7 and uh uh 10. Go ahead, chef. Win total.

SPEAKER_02

I got the uh I got the commanders going uh what is that, 3 and 14? I got the Giants going a good 9 and 8. Uh I got the Philadelphia I got the uh Philadelphia Eagles going uh 10 and 7, and I got 11 and 6 for the Dallas Cowboys.

SPEAKER_04

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

That's fair. That's fair.

SPEAKER_02

Go ahead, John.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think uh I got 12 and 5 on Dallas. That's what I think I think they'll definitely lose five games this year. Um they go 12. I think 12 and 5. I think the Giants go 10 and 7. Eagles 8 and 8 and 9. And the Commanders, I'm sorry to say this. I think they go 4 and 12. Wow. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. That's definitely possible.

SPEAKER_02

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

That's just a real that's my realistic belief on them. I don't think they did enough to improve their offense. Everyone in their division improved, or they were already above them, and they were the worst team in the division last year, and they did nothing to significantly improve their position going into this season. And if everybody improved and you were already the worst, I don't see that getting better. They're gonna be playing the NFC in the AFC West this year. You're not gonna get an easy win against Seattle or the 49ers or the Rams. So that's why I think that record goes worse. That's why I think that.

SPEAKER_03

And plus the quarterback's health is is still a prop, it's problematic, fellas. You know, us read, you're not a L, you're not an LSU. So that's a good point there as far as that it goes. That's this is good stuff. Weigh in on this, Marlon. What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say, um uh, well, for one, I think just some good points that I think you guys said. I think it's gonna be interesting to see how you guys, well how the Eagles, excuse me, backfill AJ Brown and how that's gonna work. Of course, you got the running game, uh, you know, what's Dayquan and all that, but uh is this going to be the year that doesn't hurt quite the uh critics because everybody says that you know he can't pass, he's not a good quarterback, you know, all that stuff. So we'll see how he does there. Um with the Cowboys, it's it's I was listening to something today, and it was like there's there's no off-season drama. There's no we have to find this person. This person is the contractor that that that I'm aware of. You know, before you know the Dax deal was some years ago, and then it was the issue with tokens, but now that's fine. So there's there's this year it's it's no distraction, no drama, and so now it's just go out there and just see what you can do. I know you're just talking about a trade yesterday or today, so we'll see what happens with that. But you know, can you the the defense is is you guys have made some trades on the defense, we'll see what happens with that. But um, you know, can you guys live up to that? Uh with the with the commanders, uh, you know, Jane Daniels, uh definitely a huge fan. Um Austin Eckler. Uh I don't even know if he's still over there. I think he's a free agent now, but um, but yeah, you have uh no uh Stephon claims you want to go back to play there. Um you know, but but uh I don't I don't see big things coming from them uh I didn't like to I am a huge old fan of 2010 podcast so uh I'm glad that he leads to um I did see uh neighborhoods run it around today uh in crafty so we'll we'll see what happens with with that. I think that the giants are with Jackson Dorothy. I think they have the the either had a slide after you have got some potential stuff at least in the office to make some stuff happen. So looking forward to just a great NFT uh eagle stuff. Uh I'm just gonna have to give them a nine wind stuff. I think the cowboys will get eleven wins. Commanders, I will put them at six wins and the New York football giants, I will put them at uh nine wins on the season still. Uh definitely looking forward to a good season. This is this is always the most interesting. And and of course they always have them start off. Uh and we have the Cowboys and the Eagles uh week one. I believe this game is in MetLife uh Funday football. So those games are always uh very entertaining to watch. So definitely expecting a great year from Dart, a great year from Dak, um a pretty big year from Scataboo. I know he's 100% healthy. Uh CD and Pickens, you got your weapons right there. Um, so I mean, yeah, just as a football fan, I'm just excited uh for the season as a whole, for sure.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, this is a great show, gentlemen. Uh for the record, Dr. Falcon, this is one of our top three shows because the LeBron factor, we could have talked about that for hours. And then you bring in the NFC East with the rookie class and all that, and the football, the baseball, you know, the Rangers, the Yankees, the Braves, and the Padres. This is one of our best shows ever, Marlon. I'm it's just an honor to have these gentlemen here breaking down their knowledge on not only the NFC East, but baseball and basketball. I we haven't even got through training camp yet. And we're talking about all damn near the division titles and the in and the in the uh you know NBA and all that. So yeah, this is a great show, fellas. I love all of y'all.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm and I also also I just want to let you I just want to let you know, even as a even as the fact that I hate that franchise in Philadelphia, I do think people overly criticize Jalen Hurts' passing. He's not as bad as they think, but he is not as good as the people that are his his biggest fans think he is. But he's not, I think he's a middle of the road passer. So some people make it seem like he shouldn't even be in the league. That's not the crazy. He's not he's not gonna light you up with 400 yards a game, but he is still an NFL quarterback, and he can beat you. He will hurt you.

SPEAKER_03

Well, he he should have had two ranks. And uh there's a lot of people in the league that don't even have one, namely Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who I love. This guy should have had two. And the fact that he beat Mahomes, uh, that that speaks volume. So it goes it goes noted on your analysis there, your narrative, John. You know, I agree. I agree. He's not he's never been a pure passer. And you guys know that, Chef Yaqu. But he does have a ring and should have had two. So there you go, right there.

Top Wrestlers Twist And Goodbye

SPEAKER_00

And this is this is the last thing that I have, and I'm going way off script. Doc, you have no clue probably what we're getting ready to talk about. But Jeff, this is the question specifically for you. John, if you have any input you can weigh in. But Jeff, I need your top five wrestlers of all time. I didn't even prepare you for this question. I'm going way off script. I'm going way off script. Oh my god. Way off script. Chef, top five wrestlers of all. And I didn't even do ten. I made you narrow down to five. Top five. Go ahead, chef.

SPEAKER_02

Top five of all time. My my five and four are tag team, the leads of the doom, and Amore Hall. Love those dudes. Those were my guys right there. Number three, we got the British Bulldog.

SPEAKER_04

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

That dude is probably one of my favorite wrestlers out there. Dude was in that case. I love them. Number two, we gotta go break the hit man hart. Ain't no games, ain't no plan. Leader of the Hart family clan. You know how he gets down. And number one, the guy that everybody hated wrestling because he was the worst wrestler, because he was full of adrenaline and coke. The ultimate warrior. Let's go. There you go. There you go.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I ain't got nothing on that on it. That's a good list. I grew up watching Tony Atlas and Teddy Atlas and the Sheik. That's all I know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But uh Bill Goldberg had a little run with it and some other cats. But good job, Chef Yahoo. You got something on this?

SPEAKER_01

I actually grew up watching wrestling. I actually had all the action figures. I was a big dude. Like I literally have more wrestling action figures than anybody in my neighborhood. Like that was my thing. My wrestler's a little bit different. I always liked Stone Cold Steve Austin. I thought he was awesome. I thought he was just kind of like he was just like the anti-hero wrestler. Of course, I gotta go Hulk Hogan just because I liked him as a regardless of a person, as a wrestler, he was one of my favorites. Then, of course, as you said, the ultimate warrior. The ultimate warrior, as crazy as he was, he was just a nut job, and I liked him. And then final, Macho Man, Randy Savage. Gotta throw him in there. And then I gotta throw, I gotta throw in The Rock. I just gotta throw him in there. Because The Rock was entertaining. It was fun. And I honorable mention, I could interchange with The Rock and The Undertaker for my favorite wrestler.

SPEAKER_03

This is good stuff, man. Way to go to ask that question. What about Ric Flair, fellas, real quick? Where you put it?

SPEAKER_01

Entertaining. I mean, I love the Nature Boy. I also love Sid Bishous and Mr. Perfect. I loved all of those. Those guys were all fun too.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Good stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Or the barber, all those guys, man. They're all fun stuff. Stuff guys here, Jake the Snake. Yeah, yeah, Barber Beef Cake and Jake the Snake pulling out snakes from people. That was awesome stuff, man.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Doc, I told you. I was like, I'm gonna go way left on this one. I was like, I know you probably won't know too much of anything. But yeah, we may have to have a separate one where you may one week when you take vacation, Doc. I may get them two back on, and then we'll talk to the rest of the whole episode.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely. Absolutely. This is great, man. No, it's great stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, this this was amazing. Of course, I mean we'll we'll get you guys back on at some point. We gotta talk a ton of college uh too as well, college football, because that's thinking it's absolutely by the way, Marlon.

SPEAKER_01

My mom has a picture of me with Ted B. You want to throw that name out there if you guys remember that.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. This is great. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Little nerve moment, but yeah, I do have she does have a picture of that somewhere in our house.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wow. I love it. It's been fun, fellas. This has been fun. And great topics.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I appreciate it. Every one of y'all find a million dollars tomorrow. Love you, fellas. I love you.

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_03

Let's let's let's do let's do the NFC South next week.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I like it. I like it.

SPEAKER_01

That's gonna be upon everyone.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, oh yes. Yeah, and you can't be biased, doc. You can't be biased. No, I'm not. I'm not.

SPEAKER_03

Trust me, I got issues, and I'm I'm I might even have get it off my chest next week, too.

SPEAKER_00
