Karen Sarmento:
1:00
Today we're diving into a topic that's often misunderstood but so crucial to living an empowered life. The topic is confidence, but I don't want to just talk about confidence in the way that it's typically spoken of. I want to speak about something more specific, and that is quiet confidence. So when we think of confidence, many of us picture someone who is loud, assertive, perhaps even a little boastful, and may even be a bit conceited, or at least may be perceived as such. But true confidence isn't loud. True confidence, the kind that emanates from within, is quiet, it's unshakable and it speaks volumes without saying a word. So today we're going to unpack this idea a little more and explore why quiet confidence is the most powerful form of confidence, and anybody can have this. Anybody can experience this, anybody can exhibit this in their day-to-day life. So confidence is not about being the loudest person in the room. It's not about dominating conversations. It's not about making sure, it's not about making sure everybody knows that you've arrived. In fact, the most confident person in the room is often the one who speaks the least, because they don't need to prove anything to anyone, because they already know their self-worth.

True confidence is an inner state of being. It's an inside job. It's a deep-seated knowing that you're enough just as you are. It's actually an energy that you give off. It's subtle, yet undeniable. So it's a presence that draws people into you naturally. So have you ever been around a person who just instantly makes you feel comfortable? They make you feel welcome. They make you feel safe in their company, welcome. They make you feel safe in their company, like you're drawn to them. They make you feel comfortable because they are comfortable. It doesn't feel unsafe, it doesn't feel unpredictable. It just feels like you're present and comfortable. So let's dig just a little bit deeper with that.
Karen Sarmento:
3:46
So confidence is rooted in your mind. It's cultivated by your thoughts, your beliefs. So when you truly, truly believe in yourself, it doesn't matter what others think about you. You're not even thinking about that. You don't need that external validation because your validation comes from within. You validate yourself. So you're not even actually thinking about what others are thinking about you or about anything else.
Karen Sarmento:
4:25
So this is the essence of quiet confidence when you walk into a room, you're not wondering if everyone will like you or not, because you like you. Not because you're perfect, but because you are perfectly imperfect. But you know who you are, you like who you are and you have a connection with your true self. So when you embody this truth, you don't need to announce it to the world. Your energy speaks for you. So now you're wondering well, yeah, this all sounds great, but how do I cultivate this sort of quiet confidence that we're talking about? Well, it starts with self-awareness and self-acceptance. So you have to know who you are at your core, who are you? And you have to embrace that person fully. Are you? And you have to embrace that person fully, flaws and all, and this may not be easy. So it means letting go of the need to be perfect. It means letting go of people pleasing and letting go of the need to meet everybody else's expectations. When you do this, you start to stand in your own power True authenticity. It's liberating, it's freeing.
Karen Sarmento:
5:53
Think about the most magnetic people in your life, people that you're drawn to, people you like to be around, or someone at an event that you enjoyed being in their company. Chances are they were not the ones shouting the loudest, they were not the ones trying the hardest to be noticed. More than likely they had a calm, assured presence. They were comfortable in their own skin and that made you feel at ease in their presence. And likely they were present. They were present in conversations, they were listening and they were present in the moment. They weren't worrying about how they looked, worried about second guessing themselves, worried about what everybody else is thinking and worrying about what everyone else is doing, because they were present in whatever it is they were doing.
Karen Sarmento:
6:58
That's what quiet confidence looks like. It's not being aloof, it's not being detached. It's actually about being fully present, fully engaged and fully yourself. When you enter a room, you attract everything to you, not by force, but by the sheer power of your energy. Quiet confidence allows you to navigate life with grace. You're not easily shaken by setbacks. You're not easily shaken by criticism, because you know that these things don't define you. You trust in yourself and the process of life, and what's meant for you will find you Without forcing, without chasing, will find you without forcing, without chasing what's meant for you will find you.
Karen Sarmento:
7:54
I'm going to repeat that again because I just feel called to repeat it and I really think that's the key to many things what's meant for you will find you without forcing, without chasing. And for those of us who are on a spiritual path and for those who believe in a higher power for me that's God, but for some it may be source universe. Whatever that higher power may be, it's having a faith that we are divinely guided, are divinely guided and that everything is happening for us and it will unfold exactly as it should, in every single encounter, in every single interaction. For me, that's very comforting, it's very peaceful and it allows you to just allow, allow things to happen and to unfold. So, as you go about your day, I invite you to reflect on your own confidence and what comes to mind with that. Are you trying to prove something to others or are you grounded in your own sense of self?
Karen Sarmento:
9:14
Remember, true confidence is quiet. It's an inner state of being. It's a knowing that you are enough exactly as you are. So when you embody this quiet confidence, you don't need to say a word. Your energy will speak for you. So thank you for this quiet confidence. You don't need to say a word, your energy will speak for you. So thank you for joining me today and if this episode resonated with you, I would love for you to subscribe, leave a review and or share it with someone who could use a little more confidence in their life. Until next time, remember, confidence doesn't need to be loud to be powerful. Remember, whatever challenges you're facing or have faced in the past, they don't define you. You are worthy, capable and destined for greatness. Let's embrace the whispers of possibility together, because together we rise and we are meant for more.
