The SEND Sisterhood
S2 - Episode 7: Discovering my own SEND Journey
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
On this episode Dee and Nat are joined by Joe N, a young man who as a child went through challenges with his own disability. Doctors told his mum that he would not be able to do most things that "typical" children would be able to do and that his disability would effect him into adulthood.
They could not have been more wrong. Joe states that "experiencing the fight and desire of my mother, made me the man/father I am today; and to also fight and have the resilience for my daughter that has gone and going through similar challenges".
Today, Joe believes that although difficult the fight is worth it in the long run and impresses upon parents and in particular men to continue to fight for their children.
