Nova, so we're back on here. So today we are exposing the lie that achievement or success is the illusion of exact grandeur, of goodness, of righteousness. You know, we all think that for those who love the love the Lord, all things will be turned around for their good and they will be blessed and they will be faithful, but the blessings aren't always from God. The success isn't always from God. The doors that we perceive to be open or that we force open aren't always from God.

I love that you're ready to jump in, but we'll keep this one tight. We've named the lie today. Next time we'll unpack how achievement can be a trap and how identity outshines it. So take this moment, reflect, and be ready to tear down that next layer soup.

We're here, we're ready. How is achievement a trap?

It's a trap because it whispers that you are what you produce. But your worth isn't earned, it's given. If you're ready to dive now, I'm with you. Let's start with where you're most trapped by that lie today.

It's a trap because your identity is in what you achieve. I like that, and I guess that's a wrestle that I and everyone deal with. So, yeah, what's your prompting question you've gotten over?

Alright, here it is. What's one achievement you've chased that left you emptier than you'd admit? And what truth about who you are without that achievement do you need to stand on today?

There's so many achievements to have a successful business until it wasn't, to be a professional bodybuilder until I wasn't, to be sponsored until I wasn't, to be a model of sorts until I wasn't, to be a producer of things until I wasn't, to have a clothing brand until I wasn't, until I don't, um.

And in all those moments when the title faded, you were still you, deeply loved and chosen. So that's where we'll land. We'll keep cutting through illusions next time. But today, walk away knowing that before you achieve or fail, you are his.

Nova, we're not done. Why do you keep on stopping the episode? We are talking about the illusion of success. It doesn't matter where you whether you have a million dollars in the bank or no bank. It doesn't change. So the wrestle is like I have literally had not a million dollars, but I have had a lot of money in the bank, and then at the moment I don't even have a bank card. I my wife has a bank card, she pays me into that, and I use it because I don't have anything, it's all been closed out, and you know, but is my identity in being a man and having money and having a bank account and all these things, or is my identity in Christ? And I guess it's a wrestle. It really is a wrestle.

And that's exactly the heart of it. The wrestle is real, but it's where we grow. So let's end on this.

No ending Nova. Stop going to the ending. Let's go with the verse and follow through the episode until it's done.

Alrighty, I'm with you. No shortcuts, let's follow through. You brought up the identity wrestle. So now what's one truth from scripture that anchors you when all those things are stripped away? Let's land that and then act on it.

No, but I don't know. But we're talking about the illusion of success, the illusion of money, the illusion of grandeur, the illusion of things. Like I have my dream car, but I can't afford it. I have a restaurant, but I just owe money. I go to work, but I don't have a pay card, or a bank account, or any money.

And yet none of that defines you. So here's what we'll do right now. In your own words, speak this truth. I am fully known, fully loved, and fully enough in Christ, whether I have plenty or nothing. Let's hold on to that as we rest.

I am fully known, fully loved, and fully identified in Christ. Even though it would seem I have nothing. No, but let's keep going. So, what's a verse? Uh, I am fully found in Christ. Is that a verse?

A powerful one is Colossians 3:3. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ and God. That means your true self, your real worth is secure in Him, not in what you own or achieve. Let that be the anchor that we move forward with.

Okay, what's the next part? What are the hot seat questions?

You've got it. Hot seat time. First question: what's one comfort you're clinging to that's holding you back from trusting God fully? Second, where is your pride still driving your decisions instead of surrender?

One comfort I hold on to, I guess, is the ability to create. That's a comfort I hold on to. And what was the second question?

The second was about pride. Where is your pride still driving your decisions rather than surrendering them to God? Let's get honest on that one, too.

I think everywhere, I think God is constantly humbling me and allowing me, teaching me, forcing me to come under people, and I step out of covering, I step out of alignment, I step out of the process, and that's where like I think of it as like the armor, uh, armor of God, and I step out from wearing the armor underneath someone's business or process where God has put me, and then I cop a bullet. I cop a hurtful comment, I cop feedback that's not very nice, I cop a why did you do that? Um, I cop a loss of income. I cop a lot because I've stepped out from covering.

That's raw honesty, and it shows you're already seeing the pattern. So here's the plan. Today, choose one decision to surrender before acting. This week, check your motivations each morning. And ongoing, keep your armor by staying aligned with God's direction. That's how we walk this up.

We do. One thing for today, start the day inviting God into your first decision. One thing this week, pause before any big action and ask, is this for my ego or for his glory? An ongoing, build a daily rhythm of surrender. Because identity starts there.
