Truth Seekers

Finding Your Tribe

Kingdom Come Season 1 Episode 11

We live in a world with a lot of lost and lonely people. We are "more connected" than ever through the use of computers and cell phones, but somehow with all the connection many of us still feel like we're wandering the earth all alone. This is not how it should be. God created us to be in community! A word that we will be substituting for "community" today is the word "tribe".

We start the episode by looking at a few Scriptures: Genesis 2:18, Hebrews 10:24-25 and we speak about Acts chapter 2 as well.

In this episode, we look at an analogy that involves 3 animals: the turtle, the hyena, and the wolf. We talk about how these animals represent different types of people and what characteristics those people have.

One of the things that we will have to do if we want to find our tribe is we will have to stand up and speak the Truth, which will, inevitably, lead to us making enemies.

Three other things we must do to find our tribe: speak the Truth, open our eyes, pray to God.

1. In order to find our tribe, we must be willing to speak and stand for the Truth without shame.

2. We must also have our eyes and ears open. We must be looking for those people who stand for what is right and live the Christian life and walk the Christian walk. We ought to keep our ears open as well, so that we can hear those who proclaim God's Truth, even when it seems unpopular.

3. Finally, pray to God! We must pray to God that He will lead us to our tribe. Those people that we are willing to protect, fight alongside and die for as we walk in the light doing our best to represent God and glorify Him to this lost and dying world!

In 1 Kings 19, we see that the prophet Elijah is very lonely. So lonely, in fact, that he just asks God to take away his life. But God comforts him and reassures him that he's not the only person left on earth that still serves Jehovah-God.

Finally, we see Paul talk about the type of people we surround ourselves with in 1 Corinthians 15:33. He calls us to surround ourselves with the right people, we need to choose the right tribe because the people that we choose to surround ourselves with will have an enormous impact on our lives!

Let's put our lives in God's hands and put our faith in Him and trust Him that He will lead us to our tribe!

Love y'all! God bless! Bless God!
