How Can Christians Glorify YAHWEH through a Business?

We all have been blessed with the ability and opportunity to work, and almost everyone has to to be able to pay for the things we need in life. Historically, men were generally the ones that went out and "brought home the bread", they had a job that was supposed to make money, or provide food, shelter, clothing, etc., and the women would generally raise children and work in the home.

That means that both men and women had to work, they had jobs. Both had great responsibilities and their work meant a lot. Today, especially in the United States we have a landscape where many people choose to start their own businesses. Sure, many people would rather take the safer, usually more stable option and work for someone else (which is alright), but many don't want to be, essentially a servant, and even a slave to someone else. They want to be the owner.

It seems that many men used to work for themselves, they didn't have employers or bosses telling them what to do all the time. They made their own schedules and had to push themselves to work hard. If you failed, well you became a servant and you served under someone else who succeeded.

In this country, today, we have a lot of people starting their own businesses. There are a lot of very entrepreneurial people in this country and in the world. Sadly, there are some very very powerful, rich companies that don't enjoy sharing pie, money, customers, or anything for that matter with small, local, and definitely not Christian businesses. These big businesses seek to suffocate as many of these businesses, people, and dreams as possible. They're doing a good job...

Do you remember COVID? Yeah, weird how it only affected small businesses. It was like the big businesses paid COVID off, so that they could keep their doors open. Apparently, COVID only wanted to hang around small, local, and Christian businesses! Wow, what a coincidence! Or... maybe not. Big businesses got bigger, small businesses got smaller, or they died.

There truly is something special about business, especially Christian business. We have the opportunity to glorify YAHWEH through our products, services, and how we use the funds that we make from customers. It truly is awesome! But, can Christians do a better job at supporting Christian businesses? Can we open more Christian businesses?

If more Christian people would focus their funds and support on brothers and sisters in Christ who are in the business world, I wholeheartedly believe that we would have stronger Christian businesses in the market, and more would pop up as well! But, that is the thing, these people need our support. A business will fail and die without support.

As Christians we have an amazing opportunity to glorify YAHWEH in many wonderful ways through business. Let's work together and support one another!
