Some lives are measured by what they achieve.
Others are remembered for how they lived.
In this special Season 8 premiere of Paths to Glory, we honor the life and legacy of Sis. Nadine Thames—a woman whose quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family left an imprint that continues to speak.
Through reflections of her life—her love for poetry, her gift of bringing people together, her heartfelt worship, and the steady consistency of her walk with God—we are reminded that true impact is not found in the spotlight, but in faithfulness.
This tribute is more than a remembrance.
It is an invitation.
An invitation to live intentionally.
To love deeply.
To walk faithfully.
Because some lives, though no longer with us,
leave footprints that lead others forward… on their own Paths to Glory.

And then there are lives that speak in a different way. Not louder, but deeper. Lives that don't just pass through time, but leave something behind in the hearts of others. A steady voice, faithful presence, a quiet strength that outlives the moment. Sister Nadine Timms lived that kind of life. Not a life chasing recognition, but a life rooted in faithfulness. And today, we don't just remember her, we listen. Because her life still speaks. She was born on july seventh, nineteen thirty three, a life that would span decades, but more importantly a life that would touch generations. She didn't arrive with headlines, no spotlight, no stage, just a life. Entrusted to her by God. And life so many powerful stories. It began with perfection. It began with process. She found joy in things that many overlook. Simple things, beautiful things. She loved poetry, not just reading words but feeling them, letting them settle into her spirit, turning language into something alive. She loved to cook, not just to prepare food, but to bring people together. There's something sacred about that. A kitchen filled with warmth, a table surrounded by laughter, a home where people felt welcome. She didn't just make meals, she made moments. She loved to sing, and you could hear it in the atmosphere of her life. Songs weren't just melodies to her. They were expressions of worship, declarations, moments where heaven felt just a little closer. When voices lifted in how great thou art, it wasn't just a song, it was a reflection, a testimony, a life that had lived long enough, seen enough, experienced enough to know just how great he truly is. She loved her family deeply, not casually, not occasionally, but intentionally. She treasured time with them. Every moment mattered. Every conversation held weight. Because she understood something many don't realize until it's too late. Time is precious, but people are priceless. And those closest to her, they knew. They felt it in the way she showed up, in the way she listened, in the way she gave. There was a moment shared, a small detail but one that says so much a handkerchief. Pulled out during the service, tears being wiped, not just from sorrow, but from memory. Because sometimes grief and gratitude sit in the same place, and in that moment you could see it. A life remembered not just in words but in feeling. There was a reading, the incomparable Christ. And as it was spoken it didn't just fill the room. It stirred something deeper. Memories came rushing back, moments, conversations, reflections of a life that had been anchored in something eternal. You could hear it in the voice of her son trying to hold it together, being overtaken not by weakness but by love. Because when a life is lived that well, it leaves weight behind, not a burden, but a significance. She was preceded by those she loved, a husband, family members, voices and relationships that shaped her story. But she didn't allow laws to define her, she allowed faith to sustain her. That's what made her life so powerful. Not that she avoided hardship, but that she remained steady through it. Some people serve when it's convenient, others serve when it's visible. But then there are those rare souls who serve when no one is watching, who give when there's nothing in return, who remain steady even when life isn't. Sister Times was one of those. Her faith wasn't loud but it was strong. It wasn't performative, but it was real. It showed up in consistency, in quiet devotion, in a life that didn't just talk about God but walked with him. And that kind of life leaves evidence. Because she lived. People who carry pieces of her with them. And how they love and how they endure, and how they trust God, even when it's not easy. Because she didn't just leave memory, she left patterns. Patterns of faith, patterns of kindness, patterns of resilience. And those patterns don't disappear, they continue. There's something powerful about a life that is anchored. Not in circumstances, but in truth. Because circumstances change, seasons shift, but a life anchored in God stands. And Sister Thames stood through the years, through the unknowns, and through moments that could have shaken her, but instead they revealed her. She wasn't trying to be seen, she wasn't trying to be known, she was simply trying to be faithful. And in doing so, she became unforgettable. There are people who leave impressions. And then there are people who leave imprints. You see, an impression fades, but an imprint remains. Sister Timms she left imprints she left them in the kitchen, in the living room, and the quiet conversations in the songs that were sung, in the prayers that were prayed, in the poems written, in the way she lived and now in the way she is remembered. Every earthly story has a moment, where time meets eternity, where what was temporary gives way to what is forever. And while hearts feel the loss, faith reminds us of something greater. This is not the end, because the life lived for God doesn't stop, it multiplies. Her influence didn't end, it expanded through her family, through her church, through every life she touched. And if you listen closely you can still hear it. In the echo of a hymn, in the warmth of a shared meal, in the quiet strength of someone choosing to keep going, because they saw her do it. Her life still speaks. It speaks to the weary, keep going, it speaks to the overlooked. God sees you, and it speaks to the searching. Truth is worth holding on to And maybe, just maybe. But that's what a path to glory really looks like. Not always dramatic, not always visible, but steady, faithful, and true. A life that finds joy in simple things, a life that loves deeply, a life that worships sincerely, a life that remains anchored. Sister Nading Thames walked that path, not perfectly but faithfully, and in doing so, she didn't just reach her destination, she left a trail, a trail marked by love, by faith, by quiet strength, a trail that others can follow. So today we don't just mourn, we honor, we reflect, we remember, and we make a decision to live a little more intentionally, to love a little more deeply, to walk a little more faithfully. Because her path to glory will always be a part of ours. You've been listening to the Paths to Glory Podcast. To contact us, send your emails to Paths to Glory Podcast at gmail.com.
