SPEAKER_02And good morning. Welcome to the Elise Richmond Show. We are, conservatively speaking, saying exactly what you are thinking right here in New Albany, Mississippi. Union County, WNAU 1470. I am so glad to be here this morning. It is a hot, hot, hot Tuesday morning, but it's Mississippi and we love it right here. I have a special guest here today. Her name is Martha Gullet. She is the Constitution Counselor. And Coach. Coach, sorry, I keep saying counselor. Counselor or coach. I think she can do both. But anyway, she is going to be on the show today. We're going to talk about the Constitution and why are we doing that? Well, it is our opinion, and we'll talk about that a little bit later, as to why we all need to know more about the Constitution. Bob Richman is here. He's uh uh operating the board for me this morning, and he's gonna jump in on all kinds of different things. We're also right before the Fourth of July in America 250. This is a great weekend. I hope you all are watching what's going on on TV every night. It's televised. Uh we, of course, have been watching it all on Fox News to see what's going on in Washington, D.C. This is one time that I really wish I was in Washington because I really love fairs and it would be so fun to go to the fair and see all the displays from each one of the states. That would be not only educational, it would just be a lot of fun. Uh so I'm just having to get all of my information from TV and uh looking at uh all the pictures and Googling things that I want to see. Now, Bob Richman and Martha and I, of course, were listening to TV and radio as long as we could because of those Supreme Court decisions. And Supreme Court has uh made us really happy on some issues and made us really, really upset about a couple others. But bottom line, we'd like to talk a little bit about that, and then we want to segue into President Donald J. Trump, what an incredibly fabulous job he is doing, and why we need to support him, and also how we can support him. This is your to do take action thing by calling Senator John Thune. He's the head of that Senate, and he needs to bring the Save America Act forward, and we need to tell him to do so. Those people in the Senate need to know how much America wants the Save America Act. Americans are sick and tired, sick and tired of illegals voting, cheating and voting. The Democrats say, oh, there's no cheating. I know for a fact, and I can name three different candidates that I have named on this show before, that Bob and I worked on their uh actual campaigns, worked hard. You think it's hot walking around in this heat? Try doing that on the edge of Mexico in Southern California in the middle of a campaign. And uh, you know, it was really something else trying to do that, knocking door to door for those candidates. Knowing when you went to bed that night that they had won. All three of them had won, and waking up the next morning, I can just see Bob, who would stay up all night watching the numbers and all, I would go on to bed. I can just see him each morning walking in and saying, Elise, so and so lost, so and so lost, and now we know why. Because they could see the number of votes that our candidate had won by, and then they had all night to pad that ballot box with the numbers, the exact numbers that they needed. And Bob, of course, is raising his finger now, which is a signal that he wants to say something. So, Bob, welcome to the show.
SPEAKER_04Thank you, Elise. The one thing you noticed was when they counted the absentee ballots, the mail-in ballots, the provisional ballots, because people were too stupid to go vote where they're supposed to go vote in California. The Democrats would get sixty-six to seventy percent of the votes, and the Republicans would get thirty percent. Why? Every election is it's 70-30 on absentee, mail-in, provisional voting that they all vote for and go by the Democrats. And it's happening all over the country now. Even in some places. Well, California, it happened even worse. I'm sure that one woman for the mayor race of LA was receiving Well, yeah, Bass won because they did the same thing. No, no, but her the her her her opponent, Ryman Soup.
SPEAKER_02Ryman Soup, right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, she she probably got 90% of those after election day voters.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's it's uh an amazing thing how they continue to get away with it. We watched on TV when they said the toilet overflowed and everybody had to run out. You had to get everybody out, all of the observers, everyone had to leave the building and come back the next day. And what were they doing during that evening? I know they weren't just fixing the toilet.
SPEAKER_04They had film of them counting votes and running. Absolutely. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Yes. So does that mean we should talk about the Save America Act for just a minute and why it's so important to get that back and voted on and get that bill up to Donald Trump for his signature?
SPEAKER_04Sure.
SPEAKER_02Well, what do you think? What is it in the first place? What is the Save America Act? What's it all about? Why is it important?
SPEAKER_04Well, you have to be a citizen to vote.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_0420% of the people want you to be a have citizens only vote. Twenty percent of Democrats who want to cheat, they're the ones who want to not have them vote, you know.
SPEAKER_02Well, absolutely, and you have to prove citizenship, and of course, there are a number of ways to do that. A passport is one. But here are the Democrats' arguments. Number one, well, only half of the American citizens have a passport. Well, la di da, go get one. That's really easy to do. In California, you can have a gym card. Yeah. You you don't have to always have a passport. That would be easy if you have one, and then you can register to vote. Okay, if you have a passport from any other country, hey, that doesn't work. If in fact this bill would pass and make sure it's American citizens. The other part of it is that uh they say women will have a problem getting the documentation that they need if they're divorced or have just gotten married and have a name change. Well, I would say that when you get married, you don't have any trouble changing your name. And if you've got the brains to do that, surely you've got the brains to go back to the very same place and change your name and get proof of that. Hey, how about the DMV? Yeah, and the you can change your driver's license name easily.
SPEAKER_04The Democrats say the blacks are too stupid to go out and get a ID.
SPEAKER_02That's what they're saying. They're saying it right here on the internet.
SPEAKER_04They all have IDs to get welfare and everything else like that. They have an ID to get a job, they have an ID to get on an airplane, they have ID for everything. But yet the Democrats say the blacks are still too stupid to vote.
SPEAKER_02There are people way back in the country. The Democrats think that if you live in the country, you're stupid. Well, we know, because we have lots of country folks in Mississippi, and we know that they are not stupid. And most of them have IDs. That's right. And uh so there's not a problem, in my opinion, to prove that you are a citizen. You also have a birth certificate. Those are all things that you can use to prove you're a citizen. And I would say if you're too stupid to figure that out, then you don't need to be voting anyway, because you'll probably vote for Democrats.
SPEAKER_04Anyway, also, Elise, it it's another thing that your listeners and everybody, and you should tell everybody who agrees that you need the vote America Save Act, to call their two senators in their state and insist that not only do they fight for it, open their mouth and say something instead of sit back and be a a bump on a log. Bump on a log. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say something far worth Well, I that's why I said bump on a log.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. That they need to go ahead and tell foon, bring it up, bring it up. We want to vote for it, we want to vote for it. We want to see who's again it. So when they're again we can go ahead and vote them out of office.
SPEAKER_02That's why we've got to see a vote. Does everyone understand that? I'm sure you do. We need to see a vote. And so what you need to do is call 202 322 3121. Did I get that right? Maybe, maybe not. 2020.
SPEAKER_04That was off your memory. That's pretty good if you got it right.
SPEAKER_02I didn't. 2020.
SPEAKER_04Wait, wait, we'll just find it.
SPEAKER_02234 and 235.
SPEAKER_04And not only call your 3121. Okay. Not only call your two senators, call soon, too.
SPEAKER_02Well, this is what I'm getting ready to tell everybody. You only call a one number and then you get all the senators, and you tell the operator who you actually want. Which office do you want to be connected to? You can say Senator Roger Wicker, you can say uh um Nancy Pelosi, you can say anybody you want to say, and they will connect you to that office. Someone will answer live or you will get a recording. And what you need to do then is just absolutely leave your name and number. And my name is Elise Richmond, and I'm calling as a past president of the Pontiac County Republican women to tell Senator John Thune to bring the Save America Act up for a vote. Thank you. That's all you have to say.
SPEAKER_04And even if you don't have enough votes, still bring it up. Don't be a chicken. That's called leadership.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's true. But what you need to do is make sure that you get that out. And I'll make sure I've got the um, you know, my uh brain just blank that. Sometimes if you don't have numbers in front of you, you get it all mixed up, even though I know I know it by heart. Anyway, Martha, in all of this carrying on of Bob and I ranting and raving about the Save America Act, do you think it's important?
SPEAKER_03It's very important. Uh we need to have only citizens voting. Absolutely. The the these people that uh do not care anything about America do not need to have a voice in our government.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. And uh it's something that we all need to be really vigilant about. It's the 4th of July, we're all thinking about America's 250th birthday. So let's make sure that we can clean up voting.
SPEAKER_04It's very, very important. You know, one of the things they always give us the stats that so many people are saying that they want socialism. You know, oh, if you look at the people under this age and the people in this category, they're saying they want socialism. How do we know if they're Americans or not that they're questioning? There could be a third of the people they question that are not American citizens. And of course, they don't know anything about our country. They've been here for less than a couple of years. They came from socialism, and they're gonna go, oh yeah, we want socialism. So these you know it's just frustrating to me that so many Americans, I didn't have a very good education growing up in California. And you know what? I'm a patriot, and I know the difference between communism, socialism, fascism, and being a patriot and a Republican.
SPEAKER_03And socialism has never worked for any length of time. In the United States, William Bradford now in the colony tried socialism. They were to share equal, and it did not work. They had to uh uh he changed it, and each family was given property to work, and then they were able to sell or trade whatever they produced, and then the colony began to flourish where they were starving to death beforehand.
SPEAKER_02Thank you for that. This lady knows the Constitution and a little bit of history, so we know it's gonna be a good an absolutely good show when we really get into this constitution stuff. Uh before I do that though, and before we uh uh finish up with talking about the uh Supreme Court rules, I just want to give everybody the phone number because I found my sheet. The senators are 202-224-3121. 202-224-3121. And you can use that number. You can call Senator John Thune's office, just take a few minutes. It will take you no time at all. And then call Roger Wicker, Senator Roger Wicker, and Senator Cindy Hyde Smith. And then, of course, any other senator that you might want to call. You can call somebody in Virginia, you can call Democrats, they don't have to be Republicans, but I want to let I want everyone to do that. If only ten of you do that, and we all kind of do that today, that's ten more calls than they would have gotten. So jump in there, folks. You Republican women out there in Union County, Pontauk County, Lee County, what other counties are around us? Lafayette County? I'm trying to think the signs I've seen out on the highway. Uh, you need to jump in there. All of us are a voice. So the number is 202-224-3121. That's the number for the senators. Okay. Uh of the three what should we say, the calling, the ruling that came from the Supreme Court on uh the issues of no men and women's sports and birthright citizenship and uh campaign financing, of those three items, I'm very disappointed in a way with the birth birthright citizenship. And I think that Martha can really explain it better than I can. What uh I read it, of course, and I thought, well, I can see where they're coming from saying that to one degree, but I'm not sure that it applies to everyone, and we have talked about this previously on the Chinese women coming in here and having babies. So explain it for us, Martha, please.
SPEAKER_03Well, the Fourteenth Amendment says all persons born are naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. Well, these ladies that say coming from China or Japan or some other country and they're just having these babies and then they're taking these babies home, they were never subject to the laws of the and jurisdiction of the United States. So they can't be citizens.
SPEAKER_02Well, unfortunately Let me ask you a question.
SPEAKER_04If a baby is born in here from China, and they're born from a wealthy family in China, because there are wealthy families in China, the only ones that come over here and drop their babies here are ones from wealthy families. They go back to China. When that child turns 18 and starts working and making money, should they be paying taxes here in the United States off the money they make in China?
SPEAKER_02Well, now that's an interesting thing. I've never thought they're that one.
SPEAKER_04I think they should if I'm American citizens. If I go to Japan and I make a whole bunch of money in Japan, I'd be owing a whole bunch of money here in the United States because are we collecting taxes on all of these people who are citizens that live in other countries and are working?
SPEAKER_02Well, the thing that scares me about it is that those kids go back to China or go back to communist countries or socialist countries, and that's where they're educated. So what's their mindset gonna be? It's certainly not gonna be rah-rah United States of America, and then they at 18 can come over here and then they can start bringing every one of their relatives. When you look around at all the people that are here who were really raised in communist countries, socialist countries, and what what are they gonna do if there was um a real need to go forward? Are they gonna jump on the bandwagon if we want to save America?
SPEAKER_04I don't know. Elise, you they don't have to go to China to get educated in socialism and communism. They're being educated being educated right here in the United States. We need to have all you good young patriot women and men take up teaching and become teachers in our schools for our children and for our new residents who are now being born here who are you know illegal. You need to go ahead and we need to.
SPEAKER_02You just said two different things.
SPEAKER_04No, they're being born here illegal, they're still from illegals. Well and we need to educate them and bring them up better to understand America.
SPEAKER_02We all need to understand America better, we all need to study more history, and we all need to know the Constitution. And we're gonna get back to that constitution and learn a little bit more from Martha Gullet, who is our guest here. And let me remind you, we are on WNAU 1470. SPEAKER_03Well, uh Pontique is going to have a 4th of July parade, and we're going to have a float in the parade, and it is going to be phenomenal.
SPEAKER_02Yes, it is. And Bob Richmond is going to make sure that the sign stays on the float. And we've we're bringing in all the decorations. We're going to decorate that float on uh Thursday and Friday morning over at Nancy Anderson's house. And we want all the Pontak County Republican women over there bringing their decorations and helping to get that float put together because it's going to be incredible. And that will be a lot of fun. And anything else that you know is going to happen? No, not well with the with the Republican women. We know that then we're going to lead in the third segment with Rachel Etheridge, who is from the Ponetalk Chamber, Main Street uh organization. And she's going to tell us everything that they have happening all day long, starting with the parade that we're talking about and going forward into the evening and finishing off, of course, with spectacular fireworks. The fireworks are one of my favorite things about Fourth of July. I absolutely love fireworks. It was my favorite thing about Disney uh world, where all the fireworks at Epcot Center at the end of the evening. So uh I'm looking forward to all of it. It's gonna be incredible stuff. Okay, we didn't quite finish up with what happened with the Supreme Court and their decisions that came forward. We talked about birthright citizenship, uh, but what about no men in women's sports?
SPEAKER_03Well, they upheld uh that, and I am so glad because we don't need men competing against women. They are just biologically different.
SPEAKER_02Well, absolutely, and uh you cannot have the strength. Women will never have that strength. I think that there are probably how many in the world that can lift weights like some men can lift weights, but there comes a point where the men are going to outperform. And that's just the way it is. And I feel so sorry for these women who have really, really worked and made it their life goal to be the best swimmer, uh, the best at whatever sport they are in, and then have some man come in and and beat them, and of course they could, just because they're men and they're stronger. So I congratulate the uh Supreme Court for coming in on that one. I kind of expected that one. Okay, all of that said, oh Bob's got something to say. Uh oh, watch out, folks.
SPEAKER_04Here he comes. When I was growing up, the most important thing at the time was Title Nine. And Title IX separated women and men's sports so women can compete and earn a living and make money and their sport compete against the men's sport on an equal basis going forward. And this men in women's sports things, I don't understand.
SPEAKER_02It just shot that to complete Yeah, it was totally against Title IX. And a lot of those Democrat women were behind Title IX. Where are they now?
SPEAKER_04They just shut their mouth. The women libers, where were they? Have you heard from women libers much now? No. All you hear from women libers is about having illegal stay in our country. And we want this free and we want that free. Or how they left Gaza.
SPEAKER_02Or how they're against uh Israel. Yeah, those are the things that we are hearing from.
SPEAKER_04They're not fighting for women's rights anymore.
SPEAKER_02No, they are not. And uh so that is something that we'll talk about with the Constitution in just a few minutes, too, because we've got all of those amendments, and one of them is that women can vote. It actually states that everybody can vote.
SPEAKER_03You know the uh every American citizen, I should put it that way. Gives uh all men the right to vote. See, that was the amendment after slavery. And then the uh 19th Amendment gave us ladies the right to vote.
SPEAKER_04Did it give illegal ladies the right to vote? No. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely flat out no market. Oh my lads. So it is very important. We're gonna finish up the statement about the Save America Act, which basically does say that you have to be an American citizen and show the proper IDs to register and to uh vote in our elections. And I can't imagine any American that does not agree with that. Bob, what are you getting ready to say over there? I can look at your face and tell you can you're getting ready to say something.
SPEAKER_04That's pretty easy that we won that with the women. Now let's talk about finance. Okay. The third one, sure. The Supreme Court struck down federal limits on coordinated spending between political parties, Republicans and Democrats, political parties, and now I think maybe there's going to be communists, that we have a lot of communists. Maybe they'll do get in the act now too, hopefully not. And candidates. And so in a six to three vote, the court ruled that these restrictions violated First Amendment, free speech protections, and so now the campaigns and the candidates and the the parties, political parties, have unlimited spending. Where before there used to be capped at how much it was, and the PACs were the one where all the money went. You know, when I was chairman of Riverside County, all it was tough to get people to donate to Riverside County Republican Party because it was tough on what we could spend that money on for our candidates. We were limited. So all the money would go to the PACs, and then the PACs would be spending that money on on the candidate of their choice. Well, on negative campaigning etc. Positive and negative. So this is a great ruling for it was brought forward with the Republican Senate committee, and it's a great ruling for Republicans, especially upcoming, because our senatorial campaign and congressional campaigns have way more money than the Democrats have, you know, because they don't really give to their party because they give to bigger packs that can spend it unlimited. So this will help our politicians. As long as Thune gives the money to mega candidates.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, to the MAGA group instead of all the rhinos.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_02But you know, I don't trust him not to do that. And then what happens to George Soros? He can give unlimited amounts of money to anybody he wants, and it opened that up.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Wow, okay. Well, that's kind of something that I have to do much more research on. But I'm looking at the clock and we're gonna take a break again real quick. Boy, that was a quick segment. And now when we come back, we will be talking about Ponta County repo um 4th of July. And then we will be talking about the Constitution for the rest of the show. We've hit a little bit of it here and there, but then we're gonna really go forward with it. So you stay with us. There is much, much more to come on WNAU 1470. And I think that's the best way to describe it. We might be a small town, but everything I've heard about what's gonna happen on 4th of July is incredible. SPEAKER_01Sure. Okay, so we're gonna start the day with our traditional 4th of July parade. And this is a huge hit. People from all over the community come. Uh, they bring golf carts. We have like a whole golf cart like row where people decorate their golf cart to make their own personalized floats. We have people bring horses, we have some cool old cars. Of course, our police officers get into it with their fun whatever machine that they have that they want to show off, and there's just some great pieces there. And it's just a huge community event. Um, everybody comes out for that. So we start off the day with that. At what time? And the next okay, that's gonna start at 10, and we do it on Main Street. So if you want to come see it or be in it, you gotta show up at 9 30 at the two um the Pontiac Junior High parking lot, and that's where we're gonna get everybody just ready to go. And then our Main Street Association is gonna have like the big float, and we've got the Statue of Liberty on there. We've got all of our historical figures. I don't want to give them away because I want someone to be a surprise. Um, but that's gonna be like the Pontipe Main Street float, it'll kind of end the parade, so that way you'll know you're at the end, and then you can get ready to head down toward the pavilion, and that's at noon. We're gonna have a food truck frenzy. We've got some amazing food truck vendors coming. I'm gonna gain 12 pounds, I know, because I have to eat all of them.
SPEAKER_02There you go. It's 4th of July. You can have all that good barbecue and all that stuff you want.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, calories don't count on 4th of July, don't you think?
SPEAKER_02They do not.
SPEAKER_01No, so um, and girly pop is is one that's people are super excited about that food truck gonna be here. Um, there's some other amazing food trucks. There's so many, I mean, it's just gonna be like food fest. While that's going on, we our farmers market was like, let's do a farmer's market too. So if food trucks aren't your thing and you want just some fresh corn or fresh melon or some of these beautiful tomatoes that are growing right now, boy, we're gonna have so many wonderful things. I mean, who doesn't like a tomato sandwich on the 4th of July?
SPEAKER_02With lots of mayonnaise and white bread, yes. Yes, ma'am.
SPEAKER_01So we're gonna have that option if if food trucks aren't your thing, or if you're just like, let me go stock up on some veggies to to cook out later, they're gonna have plenty of folks for that as well. And then something we're doing different that has been made possible from a grant for Mississippi's Americas 250, is it's just a little different, but it's gonna be a lot of fun. It's called the Ponotox Sound Showdown. And what it's doing, it is showcasing talents from around our town. Um, we've got a couple of folks from Tupelo that are coming, some from New Albany, just anybody was welcome to this event. We opened it up to the public. We had them spend a 30-second little sound bites, and the deal was you have to sing either a Mississippi song or a song performed by a Mississippian, like we all know this one guy, his name is Elvis. Uh we got some Elvis in there. Yes. Yes. Yes. So, um, so we had we had a really great turnout for that, and we whittled them down, and we're gonna have ten folks perform uh one of those songs. And so it's gonna be a talent show. There's gonna be judges, you'll get to see, you know, these local people maybe get their first start here. I mean, you never know what you get in a talent show, but we're super excited about offering that. And the winner will get um five hundred dollars. They'll also get VIP passes to our Bodot Festival and they get to open for Elvis. Oh my, there you go. Yeah, so it's gonna be big.
SPEAKER_02And you've got Elvis actually coming, right?
SPEAKER_01Yes, I'm getting to that, but there's so many other things. Like we have just jam-packed this day because we really wanted to have an opportunity for the people of our community or local towns to just experience Pontock and just uh just the cozy place that it is. It's just uh you know, I almost hate to tell you about it because it's is I think it's Mississippi's best kept secret.
SPEAKER_02I think it's a great kept secret. We don't want it to grow too big, which brings us to what we'll be talking about another time in another show, and that's data uh centers. So that could make it grow. Anyway, go ahead, Rachel. I had to get that in.
SPEAKER_01We're celebrating today, Miss Alisa.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes, ma'am.
SPEAKER_01Yes, so after that showdown, we're hopefully, who knows, we might find the next Faith Hill or Leanne Rhymes on that stage. But um, after that, we uh that's gonna be done around four, and then we have our Born in the USA segment. And this is where our mayor is gonna come out and introduce a lot of our local dignitaries, our firemen, our police officers, four first responders, just those folks that keep our town safe. We're gonna get do a little salute for them. And then from there we have some historical figures. We're gonna do a reenactment. So a couple are from Pontiac. Miss Ruby Elsey's gonna come back for this. We've got um, let's see, who else? We actually have a dis actual descendant of Patrick Henry. He's gonna come and speak. I can guess who that is. Yes, you probably do, you probably heard of. Yes. Um, let's see. We've also gonna have um, oh gosh, George and Martha Washington, they have a little piece to say. Um Harriet Tubman's gonna have something to say. So we've got a couple of really great historical figures, and then we're gonna bring it to modern day, where the honorable Glenn Davidson, who is our U.S. District Court judge, and he is from Pontock, and he's gonna just round out that historical of bringing it to Ponti because he's making history today. So that's gonna be a wonderful addition, I think, to our program.
SPEAKER_02I think you're correct. That sounds educational too. Yeah, I mean, you might learn something. Who knows? That's right.
SPEAKER_01And then we're gonna after we do that, then I mean, no birthday is complete without cupcakes. So we have 250 cupcakes that we are gonna sing America a birth happy birthday, and everybody gets a cupcake while supplies last, of course. We've got a lovely book bakery here in Pau R Bakery that has um provided these cupcakes for us, and we have some other team love local teams that are coming in and helping us with those cupcakes. So, I mean, if anything, who doesn't want a free cupcake?
SPEAKER_02Free cupcakes, it's a good thing.
SPEAKER_01Yes, ma'am, always. And then after that, we're gonna have Mitzi Lowry and Kenneth Starr. They are two local homegrown artists, and they boy, they've got some soul behind them. They you could just sit and listen to them for hours, but we've only got them for about one hour. And um, they're gonna sing and just kind of open the night up and get that music party started. And then after that, we'll have the showdown winner per open up, and then here he comes. It's Elvis.
SPEAKER_02Oh good.
SPEAKER_01Good, good, good. Yes, and that yes, that is by Nick Perkins, who is actually won Tuplo Elvis Fest. He's won Legends of the King. Um, he's going back to Gracefulness year to hopefully compete and win and win the overall Elvis Tribute Artist performance. He does a really great show. He's doing um 70s Elvis because it's you know, we need a jumpsuit. And um we do have first responders in case it gets too crazy or women get too crazy, so we can help anybody who needs it, because I know it's gonna be hot and might get a little too hot um once he comes out in that beautiful uh he's gonna try to do, I believe he's doing the Aloha suit, which is that American trilogy, you know, the Eagle suit that hits so iconic. Yes. And he'll do that show. And then we're gonna he's gonna do it for an hour in in a heat wave. So God bless him.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. And a lot of dancing and a lot of messing around there.
SPEAKER_01A whole lot of shakings going on. A whole lot of shaking. Yes. And then we'll let him have have a moment to uh do a quick change, and then he'll come on as Nick Perkins himself because he actually does a lot of country, you know, that 90s country that we all know and love, and he does um he does uh a couple just pop hits that I think everybody will like, and and he was like, I mean, I guess I'm opening for the fireworks. And I was like, You are opening for the fireworks. So it'll be him singing until it's time to to say happy birthday to America, and that is when our city has so wonderfully provided the fireworks year after year. They put they're gonna put on a really great show this year. So not a bad view from the pavilion. You can pretty much see them from everywhere, and it's gonna be just the end of a spectacular day.
SPEAKER_02You know, that is one of my favorite parts. I think if I'm to analyze this whole thing of what you said, it all sounds fabulous and it is so well put together. I'm so proud of you guys because it's gonna be a lot of fun. But I am so happy to be able to stand on the top of the hill and see the fireworks and not have to fight the traffic. And try to get a parking place. It's amazing how since they cleaned all that out and cleaned out the ravine and all how we can all see all of the fireworks and it's great. Anyway, I thank you so much, Ray Rachel Etheridge, for being here today on the show and telling us what's happening in Pompeoc. We're all looking forward to it, and we hope to see you there. SPEAKER_02You are welcome. Okay, folks, it's time for another quick break, and when we come back, we are finally going to get to the Constitution. I think now Martha's gonna have to come back two and three and four times. Stay with us. The Lee Richmond show is proud to have Mrs. Good morning again, hello again, it's Tuesday again, and it's the Lee's Richmond Show still. We are conservatively speaking saying exactly what you are thinking. We just had Rachel Etheridge from the Pond Talk uh Chamber and Main Street talking about what was gonna be going on on the 4th of July, and we have not left a lot of time to talk about the Constitution, so Martha Gullett is here, and uh she is gonna come back. I think we've already discussed that, because there's so much more to the Constitution than what we're gonna be talking about in the last uh segment of the show. But I'm gonna start out by asking her a quick question. We've been talking about the birthday of America, 250 years, which I just can't believe. I think it's wonderful that we're here and we get to celebrate this and everything. But America uh 250, talking about birthday cakes and cupcakes from Pontaut County. So, what does the birthday cake and the Constitution of the United States of America have in common? What's going on with that? Why are they put together?
SPEAKER_03Well, our our Declaration of Independence is sort of like the articles of incorporation for a business. And then our Constitution is the bylaws. So in the Declaration of Independence, we had these uh this foundation laid for what our Constitution should be built on. And these uh uh this foundation uh was timeless principles. And it it is the bottom layer of our cake, because it is the essential basis of our founding documents. And number one is we get our rights and freedoms from our Creator, absolutely, not from government, not from our neighbor. There is a moral right and wrong, and our founding fathers call those self-evident truths. You know, if we have good morality and knowledge, we will have a good government and we will be able to be happy under that government. So timeless principles are our basic foundation. So now we can frost that bottom layer and then we can put another layer on top. And we're gonna add to these timeless principles values and virtues. You know, a moral people that know right from wrong will maintain good values and virtues that help run and maintain a stable country. Well, just what are those values and virtues? Well, there. Be responsible, be a hard worker, be generous, and be honest. Honest, that's so important.
SPEAKER_02Yes, in the government, whoa.
SPEAKER_03Americans are people with strong values and they work hard at becoming the very best they can be. America strive for excellence. Well, now we've got this middle layer. We've got the timeless principles and we've put values and virtues on top of it, and now for the top layer, we can govern ourselves. America with values and virtues are able to make wise, safe choices that allow them to have freedom. If they don't have these values and virtues, government has to more closely regulate them. You know, Americans don't depend on others to do everything for them because they can do it theirselves. Opportunities come knocking and doors are open because Americans know how to work smart, they can be trusted, and they are responsible. That is the top layer of our cake. Now we're ready for the top frosting, and that is basically our Constitution.
SPEAKER_02Well said and very interesting that you put it together like that, like the cake that we're all gonna see in Washington. You know that's gonna be the biggest cake ever that you ever saw, with the biggest fireworks you ever saw on Saturday. I can't wait. The Constitution and the American people are very, very special. Uh God made this country special from the time it was created, and uh then to have it all unfold like it has unfolded from the time um it was discovered, and then it all unfolds and the revolution and you go forward to all of the things that we know today that have happened that are just so special about America. Uh it's not just that when you get to the Olympics or you're watching uh our US soccer team or you're watching football, our American sport. Um I'm kind of going to sports because that's what I like to do. But if you look at all of the uh uh discoveries and all the things that have happened concerning business and how uh the stock market goes forward and was created. And you just have everything happening here. The Constitution is our basic, basic thing. What upsets me, Martha, is I don't think enough teachers understand it well enough to teach it. I don't think they want to teach it, maybe. I'm not even sure, but I feel that young people today need to have some specialized classes on the Constitution. What do you think?
SPEAKER_03Yes, I agree with that. Uh our children are growing up not knowing what the Constitution says. And I think it should be mandatory in order to graduate from high school in America to pass a constitution test.
SPEAKER_02I absolutely believe it. You have to pass a test of Drive a car. That's right. So why can't you have uh some sort of test on our country that you know enough about your country that you know why we exist? You know that it freedom is not free, you know that blood has been spilled for us to live free. I thank God every night that I was born in Anna, Illinois, to the parents I was born to in this very, very special country, this very special country. And then the next thing is to thank God for Pontiuk, Mississippi, because it's also a very special place to me. University of Mississippi has got my heart from the minute I stepped on that campus. And that's how come I love hearing the things that happen up there that are totally you can bet Dr. Scultetti has got somebody reading the Constitution at center. You can bet on it. Or one of his other uh teachers. Now Bob is raising his hand that he's got something to say about the Constitution, Bob, or about young people and not knowing the Constitution. Which way are you going here?
SPEAKER_04About educating our young people about the Constitution.
SPEAKER_02The youths of America.
SPEAKER_04The youths of America.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_04The reason that they don't get educated is who controls our schools.
SPEAKER_02Well, I don't know that we can say that about uh Southern schools. I think there's a lot of conservative in there.
SPEAKER_04Elise.
SPEAKER_02But there is a lot of people that are not they're not talking about America.
SPEAKER_04That's right, because they had a hard time in Texas going ahead and keeping Muslim stuff out of the textbooks.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_04So that's why it's tough to get constitutional things taught because we have a lot of people against our constitution, and they want people to be ignorant of our constitution and of our laws.
SPEAKER_02Well, dummies can be led, that's for sure, and that's what socialism and communism is all about.
SPEAKER_04That's right. So we need to make sure that we get these constitutional classes in there for our young children to grow up so they know what it is to be a patriotic American.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. And you know, I think that it can be parents doing this too. I wonder how many parents actually ordered that book that was on Fox News about what to teach kids about America 250. I wondered how many people really ordered that. Grandparents and parents, it's really major. How many grandmothers might be taking their kids to these parades and teaching them what's going on and who are these characters that are going to be in that Ponot Tog parade? That's a learning experience. So let's get your kids involved in all of this. It's not just about eating barbecue, watching fireworks, swimming, or playing with your friends or your neighbors. That's all great. That's America. That's what we do on the Fourth of July. But it also has to be a little serious, I think, at this point. Communism has snuck in. Look at New York. And uh and everybody will say, oh, they're socialists. Well, yeah, socialist, communist, yes, we know that there is literally a difference, but in the end, it's not capitalism, it's not Americanism, it is something else that doesn't need to be here. And yes, I think Texas took care of that Sharia law thing, did they not? They did. And I think that's what every state in the Union is gonna have to do. You cannot have Sharia law over, it cannot be over, and it cannot be in these enclaves of Muslims doing what they want to do. I don't think the Constitution says it like that. Let's talk about the First Amendment. What do you think?
SPEAKER_03Well, the First Amendment, in my opinion, is the most important because it it uh guarantees the rights that God gave us. Yes. Our freedom of religion, speech, press, and the right to assemble. Yes. That is most important.
SPEAKER_02It truly is, and I think that people use that to their own advantage to say, okay, we're gonna do this no mat, but we're not teaching the American things. They're teaching other things, and they've got the right to do it because it is a religion. Islam might be the religion, and I'm sure there are some very incredible um people who do participate in that religion, but it's not Sharia law. Sharia law and Islam are separate things in my definition, the way I understand it.
SPEAKER_03Our constitution is of the people, by the people, and for the people. We have a duty as American citizens to preserve our constitution. It does just doesn't happen accidentally. We've got to read our constitution and study it till we know it well enough that we can teach others what's in our constitution. Do we know it well enough that we see when somebody's trying to take one of our rights? And then we defend those rights, and then we use our rights.
SPEAKER_02Once again, Martha, well said, uh I will keep saying that about you because I can see your passion, and I hope you can hear it, folks. Uh there's a passion here about this Constitution. And the Constitution, and we all have these little books. The Constitution is not that long, it's not that big, it's very simply uh written, but it is powerful, and it has everything we need in it to be free people. It's it's what is our basis for being free people, and we need to fight for that as others have fought before us. Would you give your life for America? Our military does. Our military stands out there every time. They will. So I think we need to think what we would do for our country. Bob, what say you?
SPEAKER_04In Texas, they will be able to teach the Bible in schools. So we're winning some of our rights back that our educational system have stripped us of. What just like the colleges who won't allow conservative speakers in, they have people protesting and shouting over them. Who? Who are they? Communist socialists. They don't want to have people educated about conservatism and things like that, capitalism. So again, we're fighting back in our colleges too. But that's only because we have President Trump.
SPEAKER_02That's right. When we get another. It's it makes me just cringe. It makes me very afraid. Donald Trump has done an incredible job. Um, he has absolutely done in the first hundred days about, I see, eighty percent of what he said he would do, eighty-six percent of what he said he would do, and he is uh bombarded and absolutely just demonized constantly by these people. I don't know how you hate a person so much. That's not what I really believe in. That religiously, I I don't believe in hating anybody that much. But if you don't have religion, what would it matter? Now, Martha has got some great things that we're gonna end the show with about what you can do if you would like to know more about your constitution, because she is the teacher here and she can do this.
SPEAKER_03Well, I became a constitution coach through Patriot Academy, and they uh do a power or put together a PowerPoint presentation that I present to the public schools, private schools, uh uh, 4-H clubs, anyone, any group that is interested in it. And also, I have a Constitution Alive course that that teaches you in a way that you can understand the Constitution. And if you are interested in this, if I don't already do it at your school or whatnot, you can call me at 662-509-0149, and I will be happy to come and uh uh teach or give this presentation.
