But what does that actually mean? And what do you do about it? There are two deep wisdoms, deep conceptions that we're going to touch on today, and that is reciprocity and receiving. Gabrielle: Hello, hello. Let's talk about sex and money and how sensuality and the practice of receiving is connected to your income. So you might be wondering, how are those related? Well, I'm sure you've heard people talking about the divine feminine ease and magnetism and receiving [00:01:00] income through that energy versus the toxic masculine of force and burnout and receiving income through that energy.

Gabrielle: So what does that actually mean? And what do you do about it? So there are two deep wisdoms, deep conceptions here that we're going to touch on today, and that is reciprocity and receiving. And when I'm talking about receiving, I'm talking about receiving on multiple planes. So let's dive in first to reciprocity.

Gabrielle: When we learn from ancient wisdom, when we learn from indigenous wisdom,

Gabrielle: We can see that it is super, super important to complete the circle, to complete the flow, and create balance. And what I mean by that is when you give, you must also receive. It is, if you can imagine the yin and yang and the full circle of connecting the flow of energy, it's the same way that electricity works.

Gabrielle: in [00:02:00] that when you are receiving electricity, the equal amount of electricity is actually being pushed out. It works like that for receiving and reciprocity as well. And a lot of indigenous teachers understood that. And so when they talk about reciprocity, they usually talk about the planet and about what we take from the earth.

Gabrielle: We also need to give back in return to create a deeper state of balance. And that creates flow and alignment, but you can also translate that knowledge into other parts of our lives. For example, if you think about a relationship with a girlfriend, if you're always giving, if you're always the one making plans, if you're always the one showing up, if you're always the one listening and your friend doesn't reciprocate, doesn't give that back and you aren't able to receive.

Gabrielle: In equal flow, what you're giving, then that relationship feels really out of alignment. And you probably feel really irritated after hanging out with that person because it just doesn't feel [00:03:00] in balance. And I'm sure you've had those relationships before. So the energy of reciprocity is that equal amounts of give and receive.

Gabrielle: And so when we're talking about receiving and we're talking about how do you open up and allow yourself to receive, it can be really helpful to think about How you allow yourself to receive on some more basic levels. Do you allow yourself to receive compliments? Do you allow yourself to receive gifts?

Gabrielle: And I ask this because a lot of times when we're talking about reciprocity, we're talking about giving and receiving. It's typically a lot easier for people to give than it is for them to receive. And that just has to do with our paradigm and our society and what's been taught to us as being okay, or how you make friends or how you're accepted and things like that.

Gabrielle: And so typically as females, especially. we're taught to give, give, give, give, give. There's a lot of this kind of martyr energy even of [00:04:00] like overgiving and completely disregarding your needs and your support and things like that. And just focusing on other people's needs, especially when you're a mother.

Gabrielle: And so this can create burnout. This can create resentment, but the common narrative in our society is this overgiving, overgiving, overgiving. And it is a lot harder to receive when we've been programmed this way, when we've been taught this way, because receiving can feel unsafe. Because receiving can feel like, Oh, maybe since I accepted that gift or accepted that support, now I owe somebody something and maybe they might have control over me.

Gabrielle: So the art of receiving and opening yourself up to receiving has a lot to do with feeling safe and this illusion of being in control when you don't allow someone to give you something. And so, like I said, you can evaluate where you stand in this energy of receiving on the sexual [00:05:00] plane, but also in simple areas of your life, like compliments, gifts, especially support.

Gabrielle: Are you stuck in that hyper independent boss babe energy where you do everything on your own and you could do it better? So why ask for help? Why hire help? And help can come in many forms too. It can come in the form of a VA when it comes to business. It can also come in the form of simple acts throughout the day.

Gabrielle: Like do you allow someone to open the door for you? Do you allow someone to carry something heavy for you? Do you hire someone to clean your house or do your laundry or deliver your groceries? Do you allow your partner to cook for you? Are you actually delegating out tasks to your VA or OBM? These are all ways that we could be blocking ourselves from receiving and receiving support.

Gabrielle: And a lot of times it's masked in this energy of, well, I'm independent, I can take care of myself, kind of this like Beyonce movement, but it can actually [00:06:00] be an energy of almost like hyper vigilance or hyper control, which can then lead to hypertension in the body of feeling like, Oh, I need to hold this all together.

Gabrielle: Like I need to control this and hold this because it's not safe for me to let it go. And also, I don't know what my identity is if I let it go. So these are all ideas for you to kind of just digest and ruminate on and see if you can feel any of these surfacing in your life.

Gabrielle: And the reason we're talking about reciprocity and receiving in the first place is because this is also the energy and the practice of receiving financially and receiving income and money. And so as boss babes, it's really easy to say, yeah, I want to make more money. Yeah, I want to receive more money, but we could be blocking ourselves in some of the clues.

Gabrielle: Some of the little red flags could be surfacing in other areas of your life. So you may be hitting a financial glass ceiling or not receiving the amount of income you want to [00:07:00] be receiving. And you're kind of at a loss for what's going on while I encourage you to look at other aspects of your life and see, are you blocking yourself?

Gabrielle: Like how much of a master are you in the art of receiving? And another way that you can evaluate this is, are you receiving intimately? What do your relationships look like? What is your relationship with pleasure look like? Do you have a pleasure practice? And I don't mean pleasure is only sexual too. I mean, pleasure is in spending time outside in the sun, doing things for the pure blissful enjoyment of doing them.

Gabrielle: What is your relationship with pleasure? Do you allow yourself to have pleasure? Do you allow yourself to take time to experience life and this world in a sensual way? Do you enjoy the food that you eat? Do you feel the feeling of the nice clothes on your skin? Do you snuggle up in your comfy bed and enjoy the blissful experience of that pleasure?

Gabrielle: Like, where are you at in receiving pleasure? So [00:08:00] as you can see, there are a lot of layers to this, and this can be clues to why you're hitting roadblocks in your income. And the good news is, if you're making pretty good income, and you find that you are hitting roadblocks in this area, that means that in your current paradigm, you have the capacity to be making so much more if you learned how to open up your ability to receive.

Gabrielle: And, To be fair, everybody has limitless potential. I mean, regardless if you're making a lot of money now or not, you have the potential to make all the money that you desire, and these are some ways to start exploring what could be blocking you. Because there is a direct connection between receiving money and receiving pleasure, support, and intimacy.

Gabrielle: It is the art of receiving, and it is imperative and critical for you to explore where you could be blocking yourself. to open up these pathways to create wealth with ease and flow. And it is in the wisdom of [00:09:00] reciprocity that we can evaluate this. So I encourage you to start playing with this energy, start exploring.

Gabrielle: When you are in the middle of a launch, for example, are you having epic sex with your partner or are you clenched? Are you in a state of constriction because you feel unsafe and it doesn't feel safe to receive? So therefore, how do you think that that's impacting your launch? And if you make that a priority of allowing yourself to receive, I wonder what would happen to your income.

Gabrielle: This is all stuff to play with. I have heard countless stories of women who say, I just had amazing sex with my husband last night, allowing myself to fully receive. And then the next week he landed this like 30 K job, or I had amazing intimacy with my partner. And then I landed two new clients. The next day you are playing with magnetism and you are unblocking these energetic pathways.

Gabrielle: And you need to understand that you can't just give, you need to allow yourself to receive. So feel [00:10:00] into this material.
