Gabrielle: You're listening to expand You're listening to Expand with Gabrielle, where you will learn how to use ancient wisdom and new age science to create your dream life. Here I ground the woo and demystify powerful spiritual concepts to support your spiritual entrepreneur journey. We are talking out with the old toxic, masculine boss, babe culture of hustle, burnout, and anxiety and with the creative energy of creating through ease, magnetism, and flow.

Gabrielle: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Let's get into it.

Gabrielle: Hello, hello. Today, we're going to dive into what is the paradigm. If you've been following me on social media, I know you've heard me use this word before, and you may be wondering, what is this? Why is she always on about it? And what does this have to do with my income and my business and my happiness at large?

Gabrielle: So this is a pretty [00:01:00] big topic that I'm going to break down into some bite sized pieces for you, because believe me, you want to know what your paradigm is. So essentially, we need to start with this idea of wanting to create change. So you're listening to this podcast, you're watching these workshops, you're reading my content.

Gabrielle: Because you want to create change in your life, whether that be, you want to three X your income, or you want to create more intimacy between you and your partner, or you're looking to develop your business overall in a more feminine, flowy, magnetized dynamic versus the old paradigm keyword here of force, of burnout, of hustle, of that like toxic boss babe culture, which is never stop, overcommit, fill your calendar to the brim, have anxiety, be totally overwhelmed, overloaded, and all the side effects in your body that come along with that type of [00:02:00] work ethic.

Gabrielle: So when we're talking about change on a big scale, whether that be anything that I just mentioned, or even when it comes to weight and health and things like this, I'll use some examples of that later, we need to know where we are and we need to know where we want to be right? It's pretty obvious. We have a starting point and we have a goal, an end point.

Gabrielle: And so if it was that easy, Why do people get stuck? Why do you get stuck? Why are you stuck under, income glass ceiling? Why are you not able to make more money than you desire in your business or Why are you not able to grow your social media following? Why are you not able to create more ease and restfulness in your day?

Gabrielle: Why are you not able to hit that mile marker on your weight loss journey? Why are you not able to call in your partner? Why I know those are some pretty emotionally charged topics. But the truth is, is that it's not just about knowing where you are and where you want to go. If it were that simple, we wouldn't be getting [00:03:00] stuck.

Gabrielle: And a lot of frustration comes because the way we are raised around how to educate ourselves and how learning works and how success is supposed to work. Because we were taught that the more you read, the more you study, the more that you memorize material and then are able to repeat back that material the more that you learned.

Gabrielle: Learn And so we followed the mold that if you go to school, you go to university, you get your degree, you get that good job, you should be happy and you should be successful and you should be able to get what you desire. But the truth is, is there's a lot of people with a lot of books in their heads that they studied, studied, studied, memorized that are not getting the results that they want.

Gabrielle: There's a lot of people that followed that path of life that was laid out for them that was explained by society like this is what you do to be successful who are not successful. And so this creates a lot of frustration because we were told this was going to work and it doesn't [00:04:00] work. And so if you feel a little bit annoyed or a little bit even triggered by this idea of not being able to create what you want, definitely stay here.

Gabrielle: This episode is for you. So going back to this idea of. Recognizing where you are and recognizing where you want to be, your goal, the results that you want to be getting, what's actually stopping you from achieving that is not that you need to do more schooling in the sense of learning the niche skill sets and tools around specific activities. What I mean by that is if you work in marketing, it doesn't mean that you need to go take more social media courses. If you're trying to lose weight, it doesn't mean that you need to go, read more books about losing weight. What's actually stopping you from raising the results that you desire is something called your paradigm.

Gabrielle: Your paradigm is this unseen force that dictates what you do 90 percent of the day. So [00:05:00] I know you've heard the term operating on autopilot. This is basically a description of you operating by your subconscious mind. And what your paradigm is, is it's a multitude of habits programmed into your subconscious mind that control your behavior, a.

Gabrielle: k. a. the body and shapes your logic, perception, self image. and essentially controls how you act, which controls your results. The paradigm controls absolutely everything. It controls the amount of money we make, our love life, who we are friends with, how much we weigh, how healthy we are, how much we sleep, literally everything.

Gabrielle: And this paradigm is inherited from our family and from our lineages. And it's also created when we're younger. I'll go into a little bit more about how this was created in a few minutes, but Diving a little bit deeper into what is this paradigm? There's a lot of words being kind of thrown around that all lead back to the [00:06:00] same thing.

Gabrielle: Some people use words like your subconscious or subconscious reprogramming, or they use words like your ego or your shadow side, or they use words like autopilot or your habits or self image or attitude or people use words like lineage, ancestral trauma, trauma, limiting beliefs, wounding.

Gabrielle: All of these are talking about your paradigm. They're all referencing different parts and aspects of your paradigm because your paradigm, like I said, is a multitude of habits programmed into your subconscious mind that control our behavior, AKA the body, and shapes our logic, perception, and self image.

Gabrielle: So it's belief systems. It's saved mental images and memories that we've decided mean something. And all of this is stored in our subconscious. And so this is imperative. This is so important [00:07:00] for you to understand when you're trying to create real change. Because what ends up happening is that you try to create change.

Gabrielle: Let's say, let's focus on money. Let's say that you're trying to 3x your income. You're trying to create change and you're trying to move the needle. And you're doing the things, but you're not getting the results. And it's not because you're not good enough. You're not smart enough that your business isn't good enough, that the strategy isn't working for you.

Gabrielle: all the other things we could think of that you're a procrastinator, that you're lazy, that you're just not good at social media. Um, that you're just not good enough of a people person. You don't like sales like the, the list can go on and on and on, right? Of all the reasons why we could tell ourselves why this isn't working, but the real reason why it's not working is because whatever you're going after is not in harmony with your paradigm.

Gabrielle: And so you are fighting against this unseen force. And you're losing [00:08:00] because the paradigm is very strong. But what I do want to say here is that we do not need to villainize the paradigm. There's a lot of stuff on social media that like villainizes the ego and villainizes the mind, even like your thoughts.

Gabrielle: And that doesn't serve us either. This can be used to support our desires, or it could be used to block them. It's up to us to learn how to use this tool, this paradigm, in order to support our dreams and our transformation versus block it. But when you're operating in this place where you have no idea what a paradigm is and you have no idea how to change it or work with it or use it to support your expansion or growth or, desires like building your business, then it's working against you.

Gabrielle: And when you're working against your paradigm, you are frustrated, you're exhausted. You can feel deflated and [00:09:00] defeated and overwhelmed. You have no idea what to do next because you feel like you try everything and nothing is working. It's, it's incredibly, incredibly frustrating when you're fighting against this unseen force.

Gabrielle: And the reason why it feels like this unseen force is because like I said, we operate out of our subconscious mind 90 percent of the day. So even though you might tell yourself, I know how to do that. I know how to lose weight. I know how to make more money. I know how to show up in my business. I know how to create these courses, whatever it is that you're trying to do right now.

Gabrielle: However, you find yourself not doing it. That's because you're fighting against your paradigm because when you're operating out of your subconscious mind, doesn't matter what your conscious mind knows or believes. It matters what's programmed into your subconscious mind because that's what's calling the shots 90 percent of the day when you're on autopilot.

Gabrielle: And so we know that our actions create our results. And if your actions are coming from this belief system that you actually can't really do it, [00:10:00] or that you're not worthy of making more money, or you're not smart enough to make more money, or if you make more money, people will be mean to you because wealthy people are, are mean or bad.

Gabrielle: If there's a subconscious belief system in there, Of course, your results are not going to mirror what you actually want.

Gabrielle: And so this is how the paradigm is. What's blocking you from achieving the results that you desire. And this is why it's so, so important that you understand deeply what your paradigm is and how to work with it. Because if not, it's like you ramming up against a brick wall that you can't see over and over and over again.

Gabrielle: This is when people try to force results in their business and they end up burning out. They end up getting anxiety. They end up feeling overwhelmed. They end up with really negative, ideas about themselves and about the business world and about how things work. That's how you know when someone has a really negative paradigm about money or about business is when they use words like it's just [00:11:00] not realistic or, my feet are planted in reality.

Gabrielle: Like she's up in the sky or I know how things work and it's hard to make money. It's hard to be successful in X, Y, and Z industry. It's, it's hard to do this. It's hard to do that or We're in a recession. No one is buying right now. Like when people are tuned in and saying that type of stuff, you know that they have a negative paradigm around business.

Gabrielle: And you don't want to be around people like that. And if that's you, then you need to find out how to change your paradigm. It's really important that you start looking into this and you start studying this. At our paradigm, you might be wondering, where does this come from? And how did you get it? So like I said, your paradigm is a mixture of two things.

Gabrielle: It's a mixture of what you were born with. So your DNA, your ancestry, and this is all the information that was stored in the cells. When a little particle of mom and a little particle of dad joined to make the nucleus that is [00:12:00] you, there's information passed on. You could see it in your physical body. You can see that, you know, you have Pieces and aspects of your body that look like mom and dad or even like your grandparents.

Gabrielle: And so all that information was programmed in there.

Gabrielle: But there's also more to it than that. There's their belief systems, their fears, their limiting beliefs, their programming was also passed on. So if your parents have a specific belief system around money, around wealth, around safety, around men or women, around different ethnicities, around hierarchy and structure, around all sorts of things, those would have been passed on to you as well.

Gabrielle: So your paradigm was created then and it is also created from then on. By societal programming from everything from music, TV shows, parents or school, social [00:13:00] media commercials, the books that you read, influential people in your life. And especially when you are in between the ages of zero and eight, you are in specific frequencies.

Gabrielle: Your brain waves were operating in the delta and theta states. And some other states as well. And while you're in these lower brainwave states, your subconscious mind is wide open. And what that means is that everything that you received under the age of eight, you received it as pure truth. You did not have the cognitive ability to accept or reject information the way that you do now, where you can decide, do I believe this or not?

Gabrielle: Am I going to store this in my subconscious mind or not? When you're that young, you don't have that ability. And so how you can relate to this would be if you remember when you were younger, maybe somebody of authority or maybe even one of your childhood friends or parents may have told you something that you believed and accepted and still carry with you today.

Gabrielle: Things [00:14:00] like, you're not good at reading, or you're a bad storyteller, you take too long to tell stories, or you're a slow runner, or you're bad at math, or you're bad at spelling, or you talk too much, or you're too loud. You cry too much Things like this if you can remember if you have any memories of your parents or school teachers or any?

Gabrielle: Authority figure telling you something that you still feel traces of to this day That was something that was programmed in your subconscious mind when you were young and there are probably Hundreds of thousands of examples of this some you may have worked through and released and changed You And some may still be with you.

Gabrielle: You may still be carrying them with you. And it may be the exact thing blocking you from being able to create the income that you desire. Or create the results that you desire. And a really good example of this is weight loss, actually. It's a very, like, tangible [00:15:00] example. So I'm sure that you know somebody who has tried every diet that exists.

Gabrielle: on the planet, where they've done keto, they've done omnivore, they've done, I don't know, Whole30, the Beachbody, they've done everything, right? They like, didn't eat anything that was white for a period of time, and they would get results. They would be able to lose weight for a period of time, let's say, for six weeks, eight weeks, maybe six months max, they'd be really dedicated, and they would get results.

Gabrielle: And so if you could imagine that their paradigm is like a rubber band, and imagine you're holding a rubber band in your hand, and as they're fighting, fighting, pushing through will, through force, forcing themselves to go to the gym, forcing themselves to only eat, you know, eggs and oatmeal, and they're doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it, they're pulling the rubber band, and yeah, it's stretching, it's stretching, stretching, stretching, it's creating a new shape, they're like, oh my gosh, I'm starting to get results.

Gabrielle: But then they start [00:16:00] to feel defeated or they start to feel tired from using just sheer willpower to change these results. And they snap back, it's like letting go of that rubber band, it snaps right back into shape and they go back to the same shape they were before they started the diet. Something happens and they fall off the bandwagon.

Gabrielle: Whatever it is. And they do this over and over and over again. They stretch the rubber band, then they get tired or something, make some falter and then they release that rubber band and boom, it snaps back into the same shape. Why does this happen? This happens because they're trying to change their physical results of their body without changing their paradigm and their paradigm has the belief system, the core belief system that let's say they are 200 pounds and let's say they want to be 150 pounds.

Gabrielle: but in their paradigm, their paradigm, their set point is that they're 200 pounds. And so they're fighting against this [00:17:00] unseen force or fighting and fighting and fighting it, pulling the rubber band. Eventually they get tired. And what kicks back in their paradigm, their subconscious, what operates us 90 percent of the day kicks back in, goes right back to what the set point is.

Gabrielle: Now, this is horrible. If your set point is something that you don't want, this is fantastic. If your set point is something you do want. And that is why it's so important that you learn to work with your paradigm. You learn to change your paradigm because when you can change your set point to being something that you desire, this is when you start creating your life from a place of ease, from a place of magnetism, from a place of removing that force, that hustle, that burnout, that sheer will, nitty gritty, like clawing your way out willpower because we don't want to create from that energy anymore.

Gabrielle: It's exhausting. It's exhausting. And it's the slowest way to create results. What we want to understand how to do is how to change our paradigm If you want to learn more [00:18:00] about your paradigm and how to change it, I have a link to a workshop where we dive into this topic even deeper.
