Kristy Dalton is founder & CEO of Government Social Media (GSM), the largest network of public-sector social media pros. A pioneer who launched city profiles in 2008, she became nationally known as “GovGirl,” hosting an online show and writing a column for Government Technology. Kristy authored LinkedIn Learning’s first “Social Media for Government” course and in 2015 formed the GSM Association, supporting practitioners with resources and advocacy. She created the annual GSM Conference, uniting government communicators with leaders from Facebook, X, Instagram, Nextdoor and TikTok. A sought-after keynote, Kristy has presented in most U.S. states and even addressed a NATO summit in Sarajevo. Based in Reno, NV, she heads a close-knit creative team and, away from the laptop, loves learning, laughing at life’s small moments and spending time with her family.
