And while audio has a major impact on our day-to-day experiences, the medium, as well as those who help produce it, are consistently overlooked. And that's why I'm presenting to you my new show Beyond the Threshold. I'm your host, Sidney Evans, an award-winning audio editor and producer, and on this show, I'm interviewing Black men and women working in the audio industry, highlighting the lessons and experiences it takes to achieve success in the field. In this first season, my guests share best practices on what has allowed them to craft their careers.

If you can only do one thing, you're not that useful. You have to be able to do multiple things to be useful, because I can find someone to do one thing and I don't have to pay them that much.

I believe that everyone's individual perspective is so important. If you find a subject or a topic that, like everybody's already talking about, you just have to kind of like carve that space for yourself within a given topic or genre.
